Guest Reviews

- Brett (10/5): - Comfy bed, clean room, great price Nothing
- Damian (3/5): Doable but never again. - Great location and a good pub. Staff were somewhat hostile, accommodation was average and the men's bathroom facilities were terrible. Motel soaps loaded up in the soap holders, mould, toilets and such very grotty. No soumd relief... like the walls were paper thin. Not bothered so much by late night patrons because thats expected but cleaning staff in the mornings yapping like they were at a concert and I have no idea what they actually cleaned.
- Maskell (1/5): - Our reservation at this hotel was cancelled the day before we were due there
- Jake (8/5): -
- James (7/5): pleasant - Prefer en suite accomadation
- Darryl (1/5): Find somewhere else - Location Nothing like the picture of the room I booked. Very dirty, carpet was filthy, hairs on the floor in the shower, stains on walls.
- Terrence (7/5): -
- Terrence (7/5): -
- Liz (10/5): - It was exactly as advertised Convenience
- Kaisey (1/5): - Cheap price The shared bathroom looked as though it has not been maintained or cleaned. The shower tiles were caked with mould and there were spiders and cob webs around the ceiling.
The bathrooms are supposed to be for guests only, however they were opened to the public on Saturday night, which prevented guests from being able to use them privately or from being able to use the showers as the door was propped open and in view of the completely full courtyard.
I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable that I left a night early.
- Clout (7/5): Good value - Comfortable room Male facilities are poor
- lance (6/5): Good practical Accomo for the close proximity to my job. - Close to work The Management is understaffed
- Darrin (7/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Nice old comfortable hotel - Nice old hotel Met my expectations
- Kathryn (9/5): - The bar was excellent and roomy. The food was good. There was a bit of road noise- not too much.
- Kathryn (9/5): - Great value for the money. All needs were satisfied. Great bistro on sight as well. Could have used a chair in the room.
- Carolyn (4/5): Sleepless Night - Lovely old pub, lovely staff, lovely food. Showers could have extra hooks/shelf to put clothes/bathroom bag on. If you don't mind what sounds like a herd of elephants staying above you in the loft area then this is the place for you. Needless to say, not a very good night's sleep.

- Charlie (5/5): - I have stayed at the George IV Inn numerous times now with work. Staff service is always great and everyone is friendly. I had a squeaky bed (not the first time here), so I had a terrible night sleep after driving all the way from Melbourne. And then needing to drive to Sydney the next morning, unload and then drive back towards Melbourne to Holbrook. Needless to say it was a struggle. Would appreciate if the squeaky bed can be fixed please.
It was also particularly frustrating when the people cleaning the showers/toilets at 3-4am in the morning, made significant noises while they were cleaning and also they were chatting away to each other, and as the shower/toilet door was left open for their noise to echo throughout the property.
- Charlie (8/5): - Great location, have stayed before but my colleagues first time here. Atmosphere was great, staff & patrons friendly. Room was clean and neat and having a bar fridge was great as we could cool our drinks for the travel the next day. Toilets and basins were clean and toilet paper well stocked. The female showers could have had more attention, looked like they hadn't been cleaned properly for a while.
- Liam (8/5): - Pub
- Yosita (10/5): Thank you so much 🙏 - Kathy, statt and cleaner very nice, friendly and caring for me and my children. The best 👌 all good
Thank you so much

- STEVEN (8/5): Central location, clean and tidy - Did not have breakfast, location was perfect very central, loved the live band and food I did expect a bathroom in the room however I may have missed that when booking, I made do with the facilities which were clean and tidy
- Seiko (8/5): -
- judith (7/5): Terrific ambience and staff. Comfortable clean accommodation - Ambience, staff, ambience, historical , No breakfast on site
- Alan (9/5): Simply a great stay - Eat breakfast in the loft Local hoons revving up the engines making noise and wasting petrol. This did not happen all the time. I suppose this happened when they had had a skin full of grog. Other than that a joyful stay
- Dean (5/5): Good but could have been a nightmare - I was not expecting pub to be closed st 9pm. We said we would be arriving between 9-10pm
Just very lucky caught the bar staff before they left.
Rang 4 times when they were inside but no one picked up
- Wallington (10/5): Great price, great location, clean and tidy little pub. - clean and affordable, staff are very friendly, plenty of parking, overall great place to stay if you are travelling alone. nothing negative at all
- TIM (7/5): Very comfortable, will definitely be back - Dinner Water pressure in the Loft shower
- Carmel (8/5): I chose the option of cheaper accomodation, and was pleasantly surprised. - Location was great, could walk to everything. Friendly staff and security. Not too noisy. Slight improvement required in shower and toilet facilities - could easily be rectified by cleaning staff!

- Peter (7/5): Quite adequate for an overnight stay. - The room could have been aired before we arrived. The fridge was a bit noisy. I didn't realise that the door key also unlocked the shared bathrooms int he night.
- Kym (9/5): -
- Jim (6/5): Pretty good and served it's purpose. - No air-conditioning and no bathroom in the room.
- Mandy (5/5): Beautiful pub, great meals, lovely bar staff but very noisy cleaners - The pub itself was beautiful. Would love to have been able to do a tour as there is so much history you don’t ge to see. The cleaners were having a very loud chat outside our room just after 5am and woke us all up. They were just letting the doors go in and out of the rooms they were cleaning and it was banging over and over.
- Kathy Gibson (8/5): One nite stay - The single room was great for one night. The bed was ok. TV was good. Having the bar fridge was great. Ceiling fan was handy as there was no fly screens on the window. Female showers were not ideal. No bench in one cubicle to put items. They needed a good clean due to a few creepy crawlies.
Shower heads could do to be updated to handheld ones.

- Louis (5/5): Noisy - It's a lovely old pub. Sandstone and wood. Great pub facilities and quite charming. Drinks in the bar are very reasonably priced. Let's start with the most amazing experience. It's old, so you share bathrooms and hear people through your door and on the wooden floor above. Fine. My family were publicans and that's not unexpected in old hotels. Was it as bad as grand final party night at the Boorowa Hotel? No. But a leaf blower outside the rooms at 6.20AM is not only a new experience. It's wrong. You're kidding, or you never want repeat trade.
The room temperature was good before bed on a very warm day in a sandstone building, but it got hot and stuffy overnight and the window fogged. There's a fan, but you don't turn it on expecting a new climate overnight.
There's no staff in the morning and on arrival the nice lady wandered off for several minutes before knowing my room number or finding a key.
Getting out in the morning is a nightmare because of intense traffic.
The place has potential, but wasted.
- Norman (5/5): I would stay again but only in cooler months - The pub had excellent meals. My room was basic but clean, but Ok for the price. That there was no fly wire on the window so I could not open the window to let in some cooler air. I wanted to open the window as there was no air conditioner, and the room was too hot and stuffy to sleep well.
- Darrin (7/5): -
- Alby (10/5): Great place for a beer and a cheap room, fantastic - Staff and cleanliness Nothing
- Alby (10/5): Fabulous staff and a very comfortable room - The heritage Nothing
- Penelope (5/5): -
- Penelope (5/5): Upsetting - Clean rooms location good The staff when we arrived they were not happy or welcoming as our afternoon went on it didn’t change. Cleaners were loud in the morning about 5:30 quite loud outside our rooms.
- Holly (8/5): Nice place to stay for a stopover on our way to Gold Coast - Clean rooms and comfortable beds, nice location and great pub! Rooms were quite small, no bowls, cutlery so we couldn’t have breakfast before we left early..

- Wayne (10/5): -
- Steven (8/5): - The building Amenities need updating

Squeaky bed ! But was comfortable enough !
Good food at the pub.

- Agusianto (3/5): unprofessional staff, unhygienic - The staff couldn’t find our booking and made us wait for almost 30 minutes, even questioning whether we had a reservation. Eventually, they realized they were searching under the wrong date. The situation was handled very unprofessionally, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. lot of bugs in the bathroom, I can tell they never really been cleaned up, they also didn't put toilet paper on female toilet. the room also very close to the pubs where it was very noisy at night
- Patrick (7/5): Very pleasant - Good down to earth honest and friendly staff Shared bathroom facilities need attention
- Marjorie (10/5): Great, affordable accommodation for an overnight stay. - Lovely setting. Accommodation was super affordable for a family of four. Comfortable and clean room with cooling. Great restaurant- the mushroom and halloumi burger was amazing! Will definitely stay again when travelling through.

- Lilian robinson (10/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): It was a good place to stay and would stay again - The colonial feel and had great staff The parking out back no destinated spot for people staying there had to park no where near the inn had walk down an uneven road in the dark numerous time.
- Ksenia (9/5): -
- Bayley (4/5): I would not visit again - It was close to where I needed to be None of my appliances worked, I had little bugs crawling on my pillow
- Malcolm Wesener (8/5): -
- Brittany (7/5): Comfortable and met our needs for a one night stay - Charming inn, great food, lovely main street, comfortable bed, having a little fridge was great Needs air con. Shared bathrooms were a bit dated - needed shelving in the showers.
- Ayush (9/5): -
- Jules (7/5): -
- Saqib (7/5): - No instructions were provided where to leave the keys.
- Kellie Anne (5/5): Clean. Convenient - Convenient for work Noise, walls very thin and could here neighbour room up all night
- Viliame (10/5): -
- MAYANGAO (9/5): -
- Kevin (6/5): - Relax Need more comfortable chairs to watch sports tab
- Anjou (4/5): You get what you pay for 😅 - It’s a beautiful old building and the pub has decent food. There’s also pretty good wifi.
The town itself is very beautiful, especially the botanical gardens which is a short walk from the Inn. In our room, the water jug was filled to the brim with human urine, and there was a piece of old, chewed gum on one of the nightstands. We were never provided with a replacement water jug, and the staff showed little to no apology for the situation. The staff played loud music around 10:30pm when cleaning up for the night.
- Colin (10/5): Step back in time value for money, relaxing and very enjoyable - The whole environment was inviting. Good safe parking at the rear of the Inn
Meals value for money. Seating area in the outside bars very picturesque
Rooms fine staff all very helpful That the stay went too quick
- Julie (3/5): Good rooms and staff, dirty bathrooms. - The rooms were fine. T he bathrooms werre dirty, no paper towel, mould, no soap etc. The facilities had just been serviced. Very poor
- Tim (10/5): - Ash the Duty Manager Excelled Beyond Service Expectations in a Problem Solving Situation.
Thank You Ash ! a little bit more effort in the Gentlemen's Shower/ Bathroom to keep it clean.
- Wayne (10/5): - Great location Nil
- daniel (6/5): -
- Sheree (10/5): - It was cleaned
- Kevin (6/5): Did what was needed - You get what you paid for. So in relation to price it was fine. Noise from pub
- Tyson (6/5): - The price was top notch cheap as The lack of toilet in rooms just having to get out of bed and dressed to go to the toilet was the worst thing also could do with chrome casts for rooms
- Craig Somerville (8/5): - Classic old style country Inn
Good food and atmosphere..
- Darrel (8/5): - nice n clean n big no fridge
- oreilly (8/5): -
- Trent darby (7/5): - The history of the George Inn On the Monday 24th of our stay we were awoken at 8am by a very loud leaf blower.we think you should wait until 10am before commencing any loud work such as this.
- Anthony (7/5): Convenient location and helpful staff. - Convenient location - walk to office.
Restaurant food was good. Shower recesses needed a bit more attention for cleaning.
- Kym (9/5): -
- Denai (8/5): Best pub with attached accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. - The George Inn is a bustling place that does good food and has a great vibe. It’s in a great location and sits opposite an amazing lolly shop. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Tea and coffee facilities in the room plus a heater, extra pillows and blanket. I’ve stayed in plenty of places attached to pubs and this was the best stay I’ve had out of them all. Overall, a pleasant stay. The only thing about staying in an Inn on a busy Saturday night is obviously there’s going to be parties and people drinking right outside the room. Surprisingly, the noise died down around 11ish (I think) and I got a pleasant night’s sleep. The other thing to note is that the toilets and showers are a short walk away outside, which again is to be expected in an inn. The accommodation guests get their own locked section which I was grateful for. The privacy screens are placed really well as I don’t think party-goers would appreciate seeing me waddle to the ammenities past their celebrations in a dressing gown lol.
- Jodie (10/5): We loved the loft! - We had the loft room, it was super trendy, spacious and felt like we could stay there a week if needed very easily. The pub food is delicious, beer garden is a bonus. Nothing, loved it all!
- Henry (10/5): - Very Clean , good value for the price
- Marissa (9/5): Beautiful place filled with history. Staff were friendly and helpful - Heritage and history Nothing it was great
