Elias (2/5): - Très bon emplacement par rapport au centre historique. Séjour initialement prévu pour 2 nuits, mais nous avons constaté la présence de nombreux cafards dans tout l’appartement, en particulier dans la première grande chambre. Certains étaient de grande taille, environ 3 cm, notamment dans la salle de bain et la chambre à coucher. L’hôte semble avoir connaissance du problème, car des répulsifs à ultrasons étaient déjà branchés dans l’appartement. Plus inquiétant encore, une forte odeur chimique était présente dans le logement, prenant fortement au nez, ce qui laisse penser à un traitement récent contre les nuisibles. Nous avons également remarqué que certains cafards semblaient mourir après un certain temps. Nous avons dû quitter l’établissement lors de notre deuxième nuit, car il était très difficile de dormir dans un appartement infesté et imprégné de cette odeur. Nous avons obtenu le remboursement de la deuxième nuit, mais celui-ci ne représentait qu’environ un tiers du montant total payé pour les deux nuits. Expérience très décevante, logement à éviter tant que le problème de nuisibles et d’odeur n’est pas réglé.

Jennifer (10/5): - The location was excellent. A 2 minute walk from the main pedestrian street in the centre of the historical city. The communication was excellent, they were fast to respond on booking.com and whilst it was a person-free check in, they were beyond helpful and the instructions were clear. My room had a private bathroom just down the hall (this is made clear in the description when I booked) and it was clean and there were keys so you could lock it if you wanted. The room itself was clean, had air conditioning, and was simple but comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't use the pool beyond dipping my feet in to cool down, but it's a decent size for a pool in a small courtyard and was very refreshing. The only complaint I have, which isn't really a complaint, is the bathroom door would get stuck once you'd opened it halfway and so you had to give it a firmer push to fully open. It wasn't a problem once you got used to it.

Esteban Rene (9/5): Gran calidad-precio en un sitio con mucha tranquilidad - La ubicación es excelente, estás dentro de la ciudad amurallada y es fácil llegar caminando a los puntos de interés turístico. Además la casa es muy acogedora y los espacios comunes son muy bonitos. La piscina es un extra, aunque pequeña pero le da una gran atmósfera al lugar además de que es perfecta para los días calurosos. Estuve en la habitación que está al final del jardín, me pareció perfecta para quienes buscan privacidad y relajación. Solo hubo dos detalles negativos. El primero es que hubo un error de comunicación en la llegada y el proceso del check in tomó un poco más de lo esperado. Sin embargo, la señora que cuida la casa se comunicó rápido con la dueña y resolvió todo de inmediato. El segundo problema es el olor del baño por las noches. En momentos un fuerte olor emana del desagüe y al compartir el espacio con la habitación, es imposible que dicho olor no llegue hasta ella. Quizás podrían colocar una tapa a la misma para que esto no suceda.

Non c'è reception, la porta d'ingresso si chiude con un lucchetto (che la prima volta abbiamo volta abbiamo trovato aperto e con il codice inserito).

David (10/5): Excelente ubicación, equipamiento, comodidad, limpieza y comunicación con la/los anfitriones. - El alojamiento tiene una excelente ubicación dentro de la ciudad amurallada, a pocas cuadras caminando del zócalo, iglesias, museos, mercado y transporte público. Mi pareja y yo reservamos el departamento que estaba equipado con todo lo necesario para hacer una estancia cómoda y agradable: cuenta con una estancia amplia, mesa-comedor, cocineta, refri, cafetera y utensilios básicos para preparar o calentar comida. El calor no fue un problema debido a los ventiladores y al aire acondicionado, siempre hubo agua caliente e internet de buena velocidad. Siempre hubo una excelente comunicación con la anfitriona y se solventó muy rápidamente el desperfecto de un foco fundido, lo que da cuenta de un gran nivel de atención. Debido a que se accede con códigos numéricos, no hubo inconveniente con nuestra hora de llegada, que fue en la madrugada debido al retraso en el vuelo. Nada en particular.

Our room was also clean and had a good size closet where we could store our bags & hang up clothes. The location is central, close to touristy stuff but also allows easy access to the town outside the historic center. I was never able to get hot water from the shower or bathroom sink. The front entrance lock situation seems dangerous in case of emergency. I don’t like the feeling of being locked inside a building where I need to see tiny numbers on a padlock to get out.

Found a dead cockroach on the kitchen floor as well as an alive one and there was no drinkable water in the property, the walls were thin so you could hear everything from the neighbors. Had no wifi because the one provided in the instructions was not the one I was supposed to have access to.

Alejandra (3/5): No te quedes aquí al menos que te hayas quedado sin olfato en la pandemia. - Muy bien ubicado EL OLOR insoportable!! Desagradable: la cama y la ropa de cama súper sucios. Apenas entrar en la habitación una pestilencia vomitiva, que nada más de acordarme me dar arcadas. Lo peor es que provenía de la cama y las almohadas. Una verdadera tortura dormir ahí. Pedí que cambiaran la ropa de cama y mejoró un poco, y accedieron amablemente, pero el colchón y las almohadas están echados a perder. El sitio es muy oscuro y mucho más sombrío de lo que muestran las fotos. Moho por todos lados.

Reservamos habitación doble para dos personas, al llegar sólo había una toalla, manta o cobertor para la cama ninguna (noche fresca en Campeche, 9°) al pedir toallas y algo para abrigarse por la noche, me dicen que como es día 1 de Enero no tienen personal, considero que lo más correcto es acercarse y dar lo que es imprescindible en una habitación por la que se está pagando, que no es poco para las condiciones que brinda el lugar. Gracias a ello fue necesario a la madrugada tener que vestirme para entrar en calor, ya que me quedé helado. La habitación super húmeda, las paredes con la pintura desconchada, pidiendo a gritos una mano de pintura.

Baño limpio. Dispone de cocina común,para el que quiera prepararse algo o guardar cosas en la nevera Al llegar con las indicaciones enviadas no podíamos entrar. Y echamos en falta un contacto con personal, es una casa dividida en habitaciones y la entrada se cierra con un candado. Si estuviera un poco arreglada, sería increíble! Kevin (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay. - We were happy we had the room in the back with a private bath (not the one near street or next to kitchen) - quiet and comfortable. An architecturally interesting space. The small pool was great to fight the afternoon heat. Shared kitchen was appreciated. Street parking, but finding a space was fairly easy. This is the historic old town, but it is surprisingly quiet. Close to central square, malicon, and restaurants. A good value: we would certainly rent again. Evidence of some bugs in the home.

We were allowed an early check in. The lady that took care of the place was very kind and responsive. Big fridge The kitchen is disappointing and not well equipped at all so I also used the communal kitchen to cook. For us we found the bed too small.
Roger (9/5): Recommended - A place with old world charm. We had the room with the garden view, which was very private. The garden was very nice, and with a handy washing line. The room itself was compact but comfortable, with a good hot shower and effective AC. Having use of the shared kitchen was very handy for preparing fruit and keeping drinks cold. The location right in the old town is superb. The arrangement with the padlock on the front door is not ideal - it's quite tricky from the inside, and difficult to see the combination at night.

Andreas (9/5): Quiet and safe place to stay in the historic center of Campeche - Casa Mi Maria is right in the historic colonial center of Campeche, yet a couple of blocks away from the main square and busy Calle 59 with its bars and restaurants (yet not more than 3-5 min walk, the center is very compact). The place is quiet and safe, there is a small refreshing pool, some opportunities to relax outside in the garden, a fully equipped kitchen. The room is simple but comfortable with hot water, air con and good wifi. Friendly staff that helped out organizing a cab to the train station. Good value for money. I recommend this place as a comfortable budget friendly option for solo traveller or couples.

Karolien (10/5): Heaven - This place is a tastefully decorated resting place from the damp and sometimes busy streets of Campeche. We had the room in the garden with our own bathroom. There’s a kitchen to make a morning coffee or a little lunch if you’re keen on staying in and enjoying a book on the patio or in the garden. Wifi/AC working well, shower has hot and cold water. The cherry on top of this was the super comfortable bed. Wow. After ten days of travelling from place to place on so-so mattresses we reached heaven here! the paint on the walls is starting to peel but that’s a common thing in tropical settings
Helen (10/5): A lovely spot, good location, great wifi and staff. - We arrived early and were able to get in to leave our luggage. The website pictures didn't tell me what the rooms were like, so I was worried, but we had a large room with a nice bathroom, good AC and fan, lots of electrical plugs and very good wifi. The kitchen was well equipped for basic cooking and has filtered water in the sink. The historical building is tastefully restored with traditional tile floors. I forgot some things in the room and they communicated with me about it as soon as they were discovered. I have no complaints.
Wally (10/5): Exceptional - Casa Mi Maria is a wonderful place in a quiet area, walking distance from all the main attractions and restaurants. It's a beautiful old colonial building with a lot of characters: beautiful tiles and furniture. The room was very big and everything was super clean. There is a kitchen where you can prepare food, although we didn't use the kitchen. There is a little pool and comfy chairs to relax. We highly recommend this place and we will stay here again. The room was next to the kitchen and you could hear everything when someone used the kitchen. Try to get another room.

Kevin (1/5): We would not stay here again and would not recommend. - The location. The description of the apartment Casa Mi Maria was inaccurate: rather than a “fully equipped kitchen”, the cookware and utensils were minimal and insufficient for cooking meals, and given that this is the reason we chose this location, it was unacceptable. The apartment had peeling paint and exposed plaster on the walls and felt quite depressing to us. It had AC but after arrival we were told to keep it at or above 25 Celsius, which we found to be uncomfortable; linens consisted of one upper sheet and one lower sheet (and pillows); the padlock on the front door grill would not allow for exiting the building quickly in case of fire or other emergency. For these reasons, we checked out after two nights. We are longtime users of Booking.com and have always done well with reservations through them. This is the first time we weren't happy with the accommodations, and there must be recourse if descriptions are incorrect. However, the property would only refund us for 2 of the 6 remaining nights and Booking.com was unable to resolve it further for us. With good customer service, we would have accepted that different people want different things, but this was unacceptable and extremely poor customer service.

It’s not - Great location and the house is very pretty there’s very little privacy for some rooms, in particularly ours. The one in front of the kitchen is very exposed to all sounds, so you can basically hear when people come in, what they’re cooking (the smell comes into the room) and they can hear you.

The fact we arrived and didn't know we had to have a door code or that we had been sent this info on booking.com. it should be in the advert too tell you. Also the rooms had names so maybe this was also sent same way. So it took 3 room changes to get our correct room. The padlock good I guess from security point but concerning if you had to get out in a hurry. Just be aware you have to know this b4 arriving plus have time to translate to English

Location was tranquil too ,,, very little street noise and this was during new years weekend! Liked that it had several ceiling fans plus air con in the bedroom. Great to have our own fridge and kitchen utilities if we needed them. WiFi was stable and great for my husband who had to work remotely for a couple days during our visit. The dining room table was perfect for his laptop setup with beautiful sunlight. I personally enjoyed the hanging seat hammock to read from my Kindle. Facilities were super clean and well maintained. Bed although a double was comfortable for two. Was nice to have a room refresh mid way through our stay. Our host was always available for questions on what’s app too. We would definitely book for a return visit! Nothing really. The door combo lock was sometimes hard to see the digits in the evening. A tv would be great but honestly we were very busy exploring the city.

Flora (8/5): This was a very nice home and location, perfect for a large group booking. - Location was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have any hot water but it is an eco hotel so that was my oversight. The host was very helpful with advise on where to get medical care. I would suggest the locks on the individual doors be updated by adding a bolt for the inside.
Leslie (8/5): Comfortable apartment in historic heart of city. - Location within the Centro Historico was perfect. Bedroom was away from the street so it was quiet at night. Lighting was dim for reading. Front door locks from the outside with an awkward combination lock, which left me feeling that in the event of a fire, we’d be toast.
Nigel (9/5): Relaxing on every level. - The location was good, quiet and the room clean and comfortable. The garden was a jewel with plunge pool geckos and humming birds overhead. The kitchen facility, although not used by us looked very good. Good interior decor, particularly the floor tiles. Front door access a pain with padlock hard to see at night if not still blessed with 20/20 vision. The requested no lower than 25C setting for Aircon also rather high for a temperate climate European given the accompanying humidity.

Melanie (8/5): Lovely restored old house in the historic city centre - The apartment was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the hammock chair. Overall, it was a lovely apartment. I had some minor issues on arrival, but the owners responded very quickly to my messages and someone came straightaway to sort everything out. The house is lovely, with very nice communal areas, a small but very pleasant pool and a very pretty garden at the back. I loved the original features, like the floor tiles and the wooden beams. My apartment was at the front of the house and was quite noisy during parts of the day with passing traffic. However, it was quiet at night and early morning. The lock on the front gate was a little difficult to open, as I couldn't always read the numbers.

Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Big and beautiful apartment, comfortable bed. AC worked perfectly, which we found very important due to the heat. Location in the centre of Campeche and very close to the best food stops is excellent. Very responsive host. Nothing.
Charlotte (7/5): Overall nice stay with an amazing location right in the city centre. - Really nice location, in the middle of the city centre! The bathroom and swimming pool were not very clean when we arrived. There are also a lot of cockroaches in the patio, however not in our room. We also did not get to meet our host, which we would have appreciated.
Maiwenn (8/5): Lovely place, well located. - Well located, near the city center. Convenient to have access to the kitchen. We didn’t see the owner but she sent us a message during our stay to make we everything was alright for us. The bedroom was small but we didn’t need a bigger space. The bathroom was outside the bedroom, we had to cross the patio to get to it. We didn’t mind it but it is good to know it before arriving.

Cooper (6/5): Pleasant - Everyone we met at Casa Mi Maria was very helpful and friendly. The location was just a few blocks from the main square with plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The description on Booking.com states the room has a "private bathroom". That is incorrect. The bathroom is not connected to the room and is shared. For us that did not work. We had to cancel our reservation. The pool water was very green. May have been from all the rain, not sure what the problem was.
Fanny (8/5): Great stay at Casa Maria - We really enjoyed the common spaces, and particularly the pool. Our room was spacious and confortable Two details : - this is not an hotel, and thus there is no reception. Everything went smoothly as we were lucky to enter when other people were leaving. We did not receive prior to arrival instructions on how to meet Maria, if you travel on WiFi only, send her a message before arriving - our room was the one next to the kitchen, if you are a light sleeper, earplugs might be needed (all the guest were very respectful and quiet, but you can’t really suppress the cooking noises)
Matthew (10/5): Beautiful home in the heart of the centro histórico. - Lovely, fully restored house in the centro histórico. Kitchen was great, air conditioning worked great. The host was warm, welcoming and helpful.
Stephen (9/5): Superb - Great location in the old town, close to the walking street, the market, and the shuttle bus for the Tren Maya. Maria is really nice and welcoming with lots of local recommendations. The pool, strong AC, and ceiling fans kept things manageable during the 40 degree heatwave. Well equipped kitchen, nice courtyards with spaces to sit. The room is quite small, even for one person with almost no luggage, and a bedside lamp would be a nice addition.

Brian (9/5): Lovely stay in a beautifully presented house, with friendly owner. - This is an old house, recently imaginatively renovated by the proprietor, who is an architect and lives close by. It is situated within the old, walled town, and is only a few blocks from the central square. Two blocks away is a street full of al fresco cafes and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen well appointed, including drinking water on tap. The pool in the central courtyard was perfect for refreshing in the afternoon. Highly recommended. There was nothing we didn't like about the property. Visitors should be aware that, as in much of Mexico, most of the museums, etc., are closed on Mondays.
