The restaurant downstairs serves delicious food. I'm glad I found The Bugle Inn. I highly recommend this place. I don't remember anything like that.
- Carole (7/5): Good room in busy pub - Good breakfast. Was shown fire exit, with explaination. Well stocked room (tea/coffee etc). Comfortable bed. Had to ask about parking, which was quite a way off. Mirror in bathroom too high!

- Chadwick (5/5): Old school country pub. - Comfortable bed, unmodernised, relaxed atmosphere, shower good Had to park a quarter of a mile away, bath took so long to run it had cooled off before there was enough in
- ciara (8/5): Excellent value for money. Would stay again. - The Bugle inn is very good value for money. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast is very good. Only complaint is that its quite noisy at night but that is to be expected having a.room above a pub. Na
- Gary (10/5): -
- stephen (8/5): - good staff friendly and helpful staff
- Pierre (7/5): - Nice friendly staff and a nice pub It was an extremely hot evening / night so a fan in the rooms would have been helpful, however not the fault of the bungle inn that the weather was so warm
- Adam (10/5): -
- Tanzy (7/5): Convenient - Location was perfect No ensuite
- Charles (5/5): Passable - Very noisy
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neelam (8/5): Very good - The housekeeper forgort to give us drinking water in the rooms and the room didn't have any intercom to ask for it. The rooms were coz and cleanliness maintained well.
- Kay (2/5): Very poor -
- Geraint (8/5): Very good -
- Paulc23 (9/5): Comfortable inn, perfect for a short stay. - Recently renovated, spacious room in an old inn. Good, small bathroom with shower. Very comfortable standard double bed (although there would be plenty of room for a king). Drawer space, but hanging space limited to plastic hangers on the back of the room door. Good pub food available at very fair prices. Owner and staff were friendly and helpful.l The inn has no parking of its own. There is pick up/drop off space at the front, and free street parking (if space available) for 2 hours. Free public car park 5 min. walk. Information provided on Google, booking.com and the property's own website was not consistent (parking, free water, included breakfast). Having booked free cancellation, and payment a few days before arrival, we received a demand for prepayment. This was not actually from the property but clearly the booking had somehow been "hacked".
- David (10/5): A Fantastic Stay at The Bugle Inn! - We had such a fantastic stay at The Bugle Inn! Our room was incredibly spacious, offering plenty of room to relax. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and we especially appreciated the two lovely pillows provided. It was so convenient to have tea-making facilities right in the room, along with a TV and even a hairdryer.
What truly made our stay even better was the exceptional service. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome, and the manager was incredibly attentive, ensuring all our needs were met.
To top it all off, the evening entertainment was absolutely fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend The Bugle Inn for a comfortable, enjoyable, and well-cared-for stay. Nothing.
- Andrew (8/5): Great good value stay with friendly staff. - Great location in town centre bright comfy room with plenty of tea and coffee. Shared bathroom no parking
- Fred (8/5): A very comfortable stay in the ideal location for myself. - The location was good as based in the centre of Botley. The room and bed were very comfortable. There was also easy access to the rooms outside of normal hours. Although I was aware of this when booking the fact that it was shared bathroom facilities was not ideal. Having said that I should point out that I had no problem with using the bathroom when I needed to.
- Lucy (4/5): Overpriced but clean pub accommodation - Location Overpriced - £90 is too much for a simple bed
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Charlotte (8/5): Good location on the high street - Great location and friendly staff. Perfect for what we needed. Breakfast times were very specific. We chose but needed to be ready for exactly that time rather than a window.
- Karen (9/5): Very enjoyable - great food - Location. Size of room, facilities. Mixed grill in the pub was exceptional! I’m not a fan of a soft mattress, and this was quite soft - can’t really mark the room down on this though!
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - It’s position The noise from the bar below
- Mona (10/5): Exceptional - We have been there a few times love it All good
- Dan (7/5): Decent! - Location, nice pub and good restaurant. Parking could be problematic since it seems to be reliant on free spaces on the street. We did get lucky and find a space though.
The only other thing I might mention is that there was live music on in the pub until late, which for obvious reasons was very audible in the room above where we were staying.
I accept that staying in a pub means that there will be a residual amount of noise until last orders, but the live music was unannounced and unexpected for our trip.
Perhaps a message from the owners to advise in advance could have let us prepare better?
If you’re late night party people then this obviously wouldn’t be an issue! My wife and I did need to be up reasonably early in the morning for this particular trip so it was just one thing I wish I’d known.
Apart from that though, we enjoyed our stay, our dinner and thank you to the very helpful staff!
- Judith (8/5): easy to book online, convenient, reasonable price, staff very friendly - location excellent, building characterful, spacious room road outside quite noisy in morning
- Allan (8/5): As were were attending a function in the village it was really convenient, the village was pretty - Lovely and friendly reception on arrival, good room with plenty of tea and coffee, ample towels and accessories. excellent breakfast again with super staff. Breakfast wasn't included in the price - We should have checked. no parking - again we should have checked. the room was above the bar and being Friday night it was quite noisy again our fault for not checking! Shower was really hard to get a comfortable temperature.
- Angela (7/5): Enjoyable relaxed stay in an old public house close to other pubs and restaurants - Great location and atmosphere. Plenty of teas coffee toiletries in room. Nothing
- William (7/5): Good - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Samantha (5/5): Fair price for Christmas weekend. If you just need to lay your head down its an easy place to stay. - Great tea/coffee facilities, tv options and nice sheets. Room was pleasantly warm and well presented.
Good size mugs also! Value for a Friday night over Christmas is fair. You can hear everything from the high street very clearly, thought I had the window open but didnt. Doors slam and are quite loud to open/close. Sadly walls are very thin and again I could hear everything in the room next to me. Walk way up to the rooms needs some work, currently looks a bit like a staff dumping ground and worn carpets :(
- Dawn (9/5): Superb - The staff made me feel very much at home. Lucia and the rest of the team are a credit to the facility. The standard of the food was excellent and plentiful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room facilities were great.. Couldn't get normal channels on the TV but had ROKU so did find something to watch, not that I spent a lot of time in the room to matter, only to sleep.
- Reggie (8/5): Staff, facilities and food - excellent. -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricky (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff. Food was great and reasonable prices. Thank you.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandria (9/5): Will certainly book with them again - A lovely homely wee hotel and staff were ever so nice and it was reasonably priced Nothing
- Adam (10/5): Great place for a night or two - Lovely staff and large rooms
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): We felt really welcomed and well looked after. - Mainly the really friendly and welcoming staff at all points of our stay. A really lovely atmosphere in the pub. We felt exceptionally well looked after. ☺️ Not much. Any little bits that were frayed at the edges were made up in plenty by the lovely, genuine people.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gioja (4/5): The room is basic but comfy. But the late breakfast & flashing lights meant we had stayed elsewhere - We paid for breakfast but the kitchen doesn’t open until 8:30am so too late for us. The security light flashed intermittently throughout the night directly into our room, so we got no sleep. When mentioning it, the staff replied they were aware and it was planned maintenance. No good to us!!
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Kathleen (8/5): Good value, lovely room and very good breakfast. - The room was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Lots of sachets for drinks and generous supply of biscuits. The breakfast was very good - lots of it and good quality. Parking is not free for long - we had to park about a 10 minute walk away down the road overnight. As it is a pub, and it was Friday night, it was a bit noisy but that is only to be expected.
- Phillip (7/5): Good -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Shellbell (5/5): Awful - Evening bar staff were friendly, Bed was comfy Our room number 3 had an adjoining door to room 4, so we could hear everything going on in the next room, a couple rowing , being noisy , we hardly slept. I think you should be made aware of this when booking, we left at 8am , there were no staff there to discuss this with, I have contacted them to complain, with no response, we Absolutely would not stay here again, it was not worth £90, and the shower needs a good clean. Very disappointed
- Malcolm (10/5): Botley stay thumbs up - Very friendly staff, lovely food and very handy for pre and post cruising. Excellent supply of toiletries and tea/coffee/biscuits. On Botley main street so pretty busy during the day. Nothing
- Hazel (1/5): Bad -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Nice breakfast as well.
- Adam (10/5): Great place to stay 😊 - Great pub in the centre of Botley friendly staff and bright airy rooms
- Adam (10/5): Perfect location and friendly staff - Great pub friendly staff
- David (8/5): Very good - Great food and value for money.
- Dotty (7/5): Good -
- Ken (9/5): Excellent, thoroughly recommend it. - Very good pub food, friendly, helpful staff. An excellent "local", regulars friendly to visitors, too. Good ales and well located. N/A.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Excellent facilities, staff so cooperative and friendly. The TV was on a rokuko stick and kept turning itself off, so it was frustrating. I did speak to the staff, and they looked at it, but it still continued.
That's the only disappointment
- Michael (8/5): would stay again - Breakfast lovely noise from next door 🚪 could hear every word.
- Charles (7/5): Good -
- Mark (10/5): relaxed and felt very welcome. - stayed here for a wedding we had lunch and the food we fantastic staff could not be more helpful. n/a
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff Shared bathroom
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Gurmeet (4/5): Disappointing -
- Tom (7/5): Good -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Kulwinderjit (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (9/5): Really lovely stay - The room was very nice had a lovely nights sleep , food in the bugle was very nice large portions . Car parking was down the road but wasn’t that much of a problem wouldn’t stop us from staying there again .
- Lexus (4/5): Disappointing - location was great You could tell the bathroom was not cleaned properly as hair was on the sink and toilet dirty. The sheets could not have been washed as mine had blood looking marks on them. I slept in my clothes as I didn’t want my body touching the sheets
- Kevin (4/5): Disappointing - Room was comfortable and clean, and staff very friendly. There is no water bottle in the room as per the booking requirement to fill up the kettle. Sink to small to fill the kettle up, so I had to transfer water to kettle via a little glass! The room was very noisy and not adequately soundproofed. On the Saturday night we came back in late and customers were still in the pub gone 2 am in the morning and were very loud with also the smell of smoking coming up into our room, and causing a complete lack of sleep for me and my wife.No management to complain to in the morning so left very upset and disheartened. Would advise not to stay there at the weekend.and we definitely will not stay there again.
- Eric (9/5): Superb - The Food
The Friendly Staff
Cleaniness
Room posistion
Cost comparisom to other local Inns.
Complimentary Tsa Coffee Water biscuits good provision Lack immediate parking. Though I eventually got a slot close to Inn.
Shared bathroom, but only because I had to take my turn....slight delay in use.
- David (9/5): Beautiful Botley - Very friendly staff and management.. superb breakfast plenty of bars and restaurants locally , having said that, the Bugle had a great menu.. good value. Noise from traffic and early morning trade vehicle's delivering to local shops.
- Jo (6/5): Pleasant stay. - Very friendly, helpful on arrival. Room well decorated with nice touches. Great shower. Evening meal was fab and great value for money.
You can park free, if spaces at front of property. Bathroom was tiny, tv noise transferred from next room / customer noise from bar area downstairs.
Someone emptied the bottle bins outside at 11.30pm which were then collected by dustbin lorry at 6.30am, which probably doesn't happen everyday but blimey is noisy!
Very soft mattress, which I found uncomfortable but others will love.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rowan (6/5): Pleasant - Good breakfast No parking, shared bathroom
- Xxx (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (8/5): Very good. Will likely stay again - Nice location with a nearby park for myself and pet dog. Nice breakfast, nice evening meal. Shower was broken, but I guess that will soon be fixed.
- Vanessa (10/5): Comfortable, well equipped room - Spacious, well equipped comfortable room. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. You can hear noise from the bar late at night, but to be fair it is a pub and I stayed over a weekend. I imagine it would be quieter mid week.
- Carol (8/5): Very good -
