Guest Reviews
- Nigel (10/5): Great cottage, location and host -
- Eve (9/5): Wonderful cottage in Richmond - Wonderfull relaxing time staying at this beautiful cottage situated in lovely Richmond. Excellent central location within walking distance of the market square. The cottage was spotlessly clean and Andreas had equipped the cottage with everything you could possibly need including a welcome pack. Loved the evenings with the fairy lights and log fire too.
Most places in Richmond are dog friendly but would recommend bakers in the market place, Rustique French cuisine and the pie shop. Lots of lovely walks around Richmond and local woods for dog walks too. Ideal location to explore all the delights of Yorkshire.
Highly recommend a trip to Knaresborough, Ripon, and also English Heritage Mount Grace in Northalloton, National Trust Fountain’s Abbey was absolutely beautiful and there are so many other great properties to visit too.
Really looking forward to returning in the future. That we couldn’t stay longer
- Lindsey (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and our new favourite place to stay in the dales. - Prior to booking, the communication from Andreas was fantastic and he made our stay thoroughly enjoyable, even leaving some welcome treats for our stay. The cottage is just perfect, with the log burner and front room so cosy, and everything you could possibly need was available. The location is fantastic and literally minutes away from the market square, castle and the waterfalls. We will definitely be back soon. Nothing
- Maja (10/5): - Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, mit vielen persönlichen Gegenständen - nicht wie eine anonyme Ferienwohnung, sondern wie ein richtiges Zuhause!
- James (10/5): - Beautiful 18th century cottage but with modern specs in kitchen & bathroom. Real wood burner (logs etc supplied) but also with central heating. Will definitely stay again as will members of my family. Milk in the fridge, biscuits, and a bottle of wine. Over and above hospitality. Check out at 10am is too early. 11am is acceptable. 12 midday ideal. Having to get up so early to check out was the only down part of the stay. Everything else perfect.
- Claire (10/5): Richmond is such a lovely place it was our first time to visit. The cottage is so close to everything right next to the - It was so cosy and relaxing near to everything but tucked away so was peaceful. The cottage is lovely with lots of different things to look at like the pictures , lights and ornaments. It was clean / tidy and we had milk , tea coffee and a bottle of wine on arrival . There was nothing to not like

- Unitedpowelly (10/5): Fabulous! What a little gem this cottage is! - Fantastic little cottage for 2 people. Really clean and cosy. And despite being only a 2 minute walk from Richmond's market square, it was so peaceful! Loved it! Nothing. All good!
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Cath (10/5): Wonderful Rose Cottage - Loved the location of Rose Cottage. It was quaint, quirky & fabulous.
It had everything you needed for a self catering stay although we didn't eat in, as there's plenty of places in Richmond serving good food.
Bed was super comfortable & we slept exceptionally well.
Loved everything ❤️ We didn't use coffee machine, as it would benefit from a bit of a clean. Everything else a dream.
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - Convenient for town centre. Clean and comfortable.
- Peter (10/5): Really relaxing - Great location and cosy
- Carol (10/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable - The location was great. Very central for visiting the area. Lots of choices for dining in the evening/ during the day. Loved the log burner.
- Jacqui (10/5): Brilliant. Can’t wait to go back! - Location was fab. Just off the market square. Very quiet to say it was two minutes away from the pubs etc. Everything you need is very accessible. The cottage itself had everything you needed (salt, pepper, tea, coffee, coffee pods, hairdryer, logs, firefighters, washing machine, laundry tablets, fabric conditioner, tin foil etc
Once the heaters had warmed up (didn’t take long at all) and the fire was lit, it was so cosy. There are fairy lights that go right round the perimeter of the room which are a great touch. Love all the quirky animal ornaments here there and everywhere, making the cottage even more homely.
Great communication with the host too. Get the feeling that nothing is too much trouble and if they can they will accommodate you in any way. Milk, wine and biscuits were waiting for me when I checked in. Again…nice touch!
I downloaded a treasure hunt to do around Richmond which I did with friends. Took around 2 and half hours to do. Best £9.99 I have ever spent. Richmond is so full of history and interesting facts. Great way to see things and learn more about the place. (I actually left the treasure hunt on the table with the other papers and leaflets with interesting things to do in Richmond!) Nothing negative to say.
- Adrian (9/5): Richmond and the surrounding areas are beautiful, Rose Cottage is a great base for exploring. - Loved the location and cosy cottage.
- Anonymous (9/5): A perfect place for Christmas in Richmond. - Fantastic location, warm and comfortable. Lovely Christmas tree and festive lights.
- Sue (10/5): Clean. Welcoming quiet. Location. All great - Everything Nothing
- Jeffrey (9/5): Excellent location, very comfortable facilities and a generous host. Superb visit. - A very comfortable and well laid out cottage very close to the centre of Richmond and in easy reach of all facilities. Our host left the makings of tea and coffee, some nice biscuits and a bottle of Cava which was a lovely surprise. He was available on the telephone whenever we phoned with any queries. The only issue for us was the availability of parking nearby. We knew that before we arrived and actually there was no real problem because we found car parking spaces nearby. Many spaces use disc parking (maximum 2 hours with no return for 1 hour). Discs can be obtained free of charge from local shops - and that enables local parking at beginning and end of day.
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- June (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (8/5): Very cosy little cottage for two idea location for visiting family - Great location, we arrived to a welcome pack and a bottle of wine, we were self catering. Long walk from street parking to the cottage and quite hilly no good for my husband has difficulty walking.
- Allwood (10/5): Lovely quaint little bolt hole - ideal for solo traveller in lovely town. Would like to visit again! - Ideal for solo traveller. Loved being so close to town. Very comfortable bed. Good photos to let me know what property was like. Host very helpful re arrival time. Appreciated the 'welcome' pack on arrival. Although no parking at property (it is in the middle of historic Richmond with it quaint cobbled streets!) I found it easy to park elsewhere. As it is in Richmond you have to be used to inclines and steps etc! Excellent base for walking around Richmond and exploring area around. Richmond itself has everything you would need for a short holiday.
