- Emma (9/5): Beautiful oasis outside town center - I loved the gardens and animals around the property (peacocks, chickens, a cat). The room was comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit and relax around the property. The breakfast was 10/10, very generous, fast, delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The main downside is the location which is a 10-15 minute uber ride from the town center. It is on a narrow dead end road so it can take a long time to go back and forth. It’s possible to walk but it would be a long walk esp if you are planning on walking around a lot anyway. The only other minor thing is that the shower has no light. Showering in the dark was somewhat annoying.

There are so many beautiful and interesting plants. I loved sitting and watching the peacocks and chickens! I’d suggest keeping at least one day open to fully enjoy Casa Búho. Disliked · N/a

- Donna (10/5): A beautiful and friendly location. It had the warmth of Antigua! - The staff was so friendly and helpful. They took care of every need. I will say that this location is off the beaten path, which I enjoyed. The walk into town is an enjoyable 25ish minutes, and I always felt safe. UBER also worked very well. I loved the peacocks! Everything was just what I wanted. So friendly.

- Troi (10/5): Exotic pets - Wow! This hotel is home to a garden filled with peacocks. They are so beautiful! It was such a wonderful surprise (sorry to ruin it lol). Miguel was extremely nice and thoughtful, helped me with my bags as I left. Overall the facilities are beautiful, luxury stay for a value price. I visited in late Jan which is mating season for the peacocks, one of them sat on the roof and screamed all night long lol. Very noisy and hard to sleep. It's also a bit far from everything, not really walking distance from anything.
- Sherry (8/5): - Instalaciones, trato de personal El mismo día del hospedaje nos indican 2horas antes de llegar que van a cerrar el paso al hotel y la calle por unas procesiones y que no podríamos salir después de las 6am por el bloqueo, lo que hizo que incurriéramos en gastos de traslado privado a esa hora, no se pudiera desayunar (incluido en el precio) ya que el mismo iniciaba a las 8am. Sé que el tema es cultural y religioso sin embargo debieron avisar de esto antes no el mismo día del alojamiento, para así tomar las previsiones del caso o bien alojarnos en otra localidad

- Stefan (9/5): - Es una casa antigua renovada con mucho estilo y bellísimo jardín alrededor. La entrega del personal a la atención es excepcional. Los pavos reales que habitan el jardín son otro elemento especial. Agradecimientos por la agradable estadía, especialmente a Miguel.

Wir haben einen extra Internetzugang bekommen, weil das eigentliche Internet nicht so gut funktionierte. Gutes Frühstück mit viel Kaffee. Frühstück wird eine wunderschönen Raum serviert. Betten sind bequem. Leider sind die Zimmer nicht sehr groß und es wenig Ablage. Wenn man es ruhig haben möchte, sollte man sich darauf einstellen, dass Hähne und Fasane auf dem Grundstück vorhanden sind. Die Nacht ist um 5 Uhr zu Ende.

A pesar de que tuvimos que irnos más temprano el día de nuestra salida, lograron encontrar soluciones para el desayuno que fueron super certeras, el servicio de Nancy y el resto del staff fue excelente. El hotel es muy bonito y permite a uno desconectarse del bullicio fácilmente.

Delicious breakfast every morning. The attention to detail is amazing. It’s a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. There was a celebration in the local park while we were there…music and dancing. What special memories.

The most expensive stay for my Guatemala trip. Probably due to being in the heart of touristy area. Room was cold, no heater. Water was cold too wasn't warm enough. Small compact bathroom and shower.

- López (8/5): - Nos encantó el lugar, todo estuvo muy lindo y limpio, la atención al cliente, la naturaleza y los animalitos. Era un lugare muy agradable de estar. Mi única queja fue la cama, 0 cómoda, estaba como hundida y no logré dormir bien, el cuarto siento que era demasiado pequeño y tenía poca privacidad, tenía como conexión con el cuarto de al lado, lo cual no me gustó.
- Kimberley (10/5): Fantastisch mooie plek - Prachtige plek net buiten her centrum van Antigua. Personeel is enorm lief en probeert ondanks de taalbarriere toch een praatje met je te maken. Het is ongeveer een half uurtje lopen naar het centrum maar dat is het zeker waard. Ontbijt is ook erg lekker.

Would never go again. - The location is far from the city center which is good if you're looking for a more quiet stay, which I didn't get because there was an EXTREMELY LOUD group staying there at the same time. I called the reception 4 times in two days to address this and they did nothing. They didn't even knock on their door to politely ask them to be quieter. This loud group was even allowed to bring mariachis to the property. They also have peacocks, which look nice but wake you up at 5 am. The staff is kind but absolutely unwilling to address loud guests.

- Benpatient (10/5): Great out of town option for Antigua - Set in attractive grounds in a small, typically Guatemalan community just outside (5 minutes by Uber) from the centre of Antigua, with stunning views of hills and volcanoes. Casa Buho is a family run bed and breakfast hotel with exceptional quality rooms. This was a great place to stay as we had already spent a month in town, but would also be good if you want to be away from the noise and bustle of the town.
- Margaret (10/5): Loved Our Beautiful Safe Hotel and Surroundings! - We were amazed with the beauty of the hotel and the surroundings! There are even colorful peacocks walking around! Their inner couryard is fantastic, they even have a fountain and a pond with Koi fishes there! We could have just stayed on the hotel grounds for a week and still would enjoy our trip..lol We might just do that in future. If you are looking for a low key, clean, beautiful place to stay Casa Búho is IT! And breakfasts are very yummy including local fruits! Uber drive to the center of Antigua is about 10 min and cost about $7-8. But above all we loved the staff there. Super friendly, and owners speak English! - Anna (8/5): Lovely stay out of town - The property itself is lovely and set in beautiful grounds and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The room came with plenty of blankets and nice hot water in the shower. I was only there for two nights at the end of my trip but the room itself was quite basic and dark, and could do with a bit of an upgrade given the price of the property. The property is out of town (which I knew before booking) and although I was told it was safe to walk into town as a sole female I was catcalled each time I did so (maybe one to be aware of for others). You also have to buzz an intercom to enter the property which I appreciate from a safety perspective but did mean waiting in the street for a short while (maybe there’s a solution to this that allows guests to come and go with more flexibility - it put me off slightly when arriving back in the dark). That said, I think this would be a good choice for a family who plan to spend more time in the property itself, or those who have access to their own car.

But most outstanding was the attention of Moises, who helped us a lot when our flight was rescheduled and we arrived very late. When we thought everything would be complicated, he proposed several solutions, took care of everything and we had a super smooth arrival all thanks to him. Our room itself was rather simple, but still comfortable. Location is a bit far from the city center, but still walkable.

I liked everything! But what others guests may not like is the distance from the city center. For me it wasn’t a problem, since I enjoyed the surroundings. And it’s easy to get an Uber.

- Kouts (9/5): Tranquil paradise - Casa Buho was the first place I stayed in Guatemala. I couldn't have asked for a better home base for my introduction to the country. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the surrounding gardens are exquisite. situated roughly half an hour walk from the center of Antigua, this stay is a quiet paradise for those seeking tranquility. The staff / owners are also incredibly welcoming and accommodating 🙂
