- Blake (1/5): Nightmare - Given the overall circumstances and attitude of the hosts, it is difficult to recommend anything here. Immediately upon checking into the property, I noted that the central heating system of the building had a significant gas leak, that made the property unpleasant and unhealthy to stay in. The hosts Upstreet at first were non-responsive, then refused to relocate me to any one of their four available properties in the area, citing that it was “too much work”. The parking space advertised is owned by a neighbor who came out twice and told me I could not park there, this was supported by other neighbors who confirmed that this host’s apartment does not have a parking space. Finally, when confronted with all of these issues and the possibility of an honest review, the hosts became aggressive and not only refused to cancel the stay for a refund, but threatened “consequences”, should I leave a transparent review of their practices. There are literally thousands of short term apartments in Athens available from respectable, professional hosts. I would run, not walk, from this property, or any other hosted by Upstreet in future.
