Guest Reviews
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (1/5): APPALLING EXPERIENCE. - NOTHING The failure to provide basic cooking utensils and failure of proprietors to respond to messages or calls. There was no kettle, although promised it never turned up. There was no toaster, no coffee maker, no teatowels, no chopping board. There was only one pot that could be used on the induction stove. The pots and pans set were not suitable for this stove. There are no micro wave or oven proof pots that would have allowed their use. The dishwasher has a broken door that can be manipulated to work. A bracket for the blind in the 3rd bedroom was not attached, so we had to pile up cushions to keep the street light out. Two of the blinds in the main bedroom were broken. One of the heavy sliding wooden doors between the bathroom and dressing room for the main bedroom was not attached to its sliding bracket and dangerously pitched forward at the top. The dryer did not dry clothes. The laundry was piled up with towels and sheets to be used in the other apartments in the building managed by FHI, who employ Nina, who is supposed to be our contact. You can hardly move in that room. The loungeroom table has a large cracked edge, and the bath major stains. All requests to Nina to address these problems were met with silence. I contacted her employers who stayed, and someone would ring back. No one did! The concierge advised us that everyone who tents the apartment makes the same complaints, but nothing is done even when the clients attempt to complain to Nina's employers. I contacted Booking.com by phone (no response) and via their contact message system only to be advised to contact the proprietor. The same person i was complaining would not respond and as should have been known from other disgruntled clients who have posted on Booking.com. They were of NO HELP.
- Mikesp8 (2/5): Don't stay here if you need a working apartment - location, minutes from Covent Garden, Charring Cross, etc.
The apartment could be fantastic, it's huge for Central London. It has its own lift.
A multi-million dollar residence that fails abysmally. Broken hob. Which meant we couldn't cook. One of our group had dietary issues and we couldn't prepare meals as we needed to.
Broken dishwasher, the door was hanging off and no dishwashing facilities supplied ie no teatowel. People book apartments because they want to self cater. It felt like everything to support that was broken. The kickboard under the kitchen cabinets was on the floor.
There are no dishes to use in the microwave.
There are no curtains in bedroom 2
No kettle (had to use microwave to boil water)
No hair-dryer - and it's the middle of winter, and you can't go out with wet hair in winter (who takes a hair-dryer on holiday?)
Leftover toothbrush and toiletries from previous guests.
Toilet 3 by the front door smells.
Door to master ensuite didn't close (the sliding door was stuck in the wall cavity)
BUT worst of all, the Owner/Manager does not respond to any communications. After 2 days of asking about the above, we realised "Nina" was not going to respond, ever.
We noticed somone had tidied up the flat when we were not in it. Then realised potential 'buyers' were being shown through the property while we were staying there, without telling us.
Used linen from the previous tenants were still in the laundry.
- Christine (6/5): Could have been a lot better - Position of the apartment Cleaner didnt leave till 16.40. Doors hanging off dishwasher and bathroom. Shower not working in main bathroom. No instructions for anything. Curtains missing. Quoker tap not working so had to boil pan for drinks.
- Xiomar (5/5): Huge, modern space in a central location. Could be great with some additional touches. - The space itself is huge and great for a group. Loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom, plus a powder room. Lots of closet space as well.
There was a private rooftop terrace which would have been great in warmer weather. Definitely something worth adding photos of and advertising as part of the space.
Location made it easy to explore London on foot or on the underground while visiting. - There was a beeping sound coming from the alarm when we arrived that we had to contact the host about
- No WI-FI or additional instructions were shared when checked in. We had to reach out for the wi-fi password and then it was not reliable during the stay once we were able to join the network.
- For 5 guests staying 4 nights we were only given one bath towel each. It would have been nice to have extras
- No toiletries provided, which is fine, but would have like to know ahead of time.
- Carolyn (5/5): Great location, however so much overlooked by management - The prime location. We checked into the property at 3.40pm to the house-keeper still cleaning and preparing beds in the apartment. Crockery on the worktop which she was having to wash by hand. The dishwasher had come off its hinges by the previous residents and there was still dirty cutlery left in the top of it, which we had to wash.
0nly 2 stained mugs available for six guests, 4 wine glasses of which one was already broken in the drawer, 2 champagne flutes. Certainly a lack of crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils to service 6 people. A huge oversight by housekeeping/management.
No instructions on how to use the hob, not even sure how/if this actually worked. Appears to come up with an error code ? .
No cafetière/coffee making facilities, toaster or electric kettle. Complimentary tea/coffee/milk (welcome pack) would have been a very nice gesture, however none available.
Sonos music system - no cable available.
Quooker tap appeared not to work properly.
Alarm buzzer came on every time door was open, covered by old sock, no key code to cancel.
No hairdryers or iron available.
Smallest bedroom drains stunk with old blood stains on laundered duvet cover.
Second bedroom no window treatment at window.
Master suite - not all blinds worked, no mattress protector. Did look like the bottom sheet had already been slept on!
We all feel that there has been a huge oversight re management/housekeeping in many items that should have been automatically addressed in this apartment.
Then just to cap it all we were locked out of the main entrance due to the wire breaking at the back of the door. Fortunately a resident from one of the other apartments was coming home so she buzzed someone who was a resident of this particular block to let us and her in.
No point of contact seems to be available for the Penthouse.
What should have been a really lovely stay, marred by some very major slips ups re housekeeping/management, in what is a rather beautiful apartment.
- Delwyn (7/5): Good - The size and position of the property was fantastic.
The access and lockbox worked great. . Unfortunately there was no TV remote. So couldn’t watch any tv. My husband was sick so would have liked to be able to watch tv.
We were finally given the wifi on the 3 rd day.
There was no toaster or jug.
No cups or water glasses.
You couldn’t cook anything as it wasn’t really fitted out. 4 wine glasses and 2 champagne glasses was all there was.
No hairdryer.
Any communication I tried to have was ignored.
