Guest Reviews
- Chetty (10/5): A quiet and peaceful estate with beautiful views. - Neat and clean property. Beautiful pool. Complimentary free range eggs, coffee pods and milk were a nice welcome. None
- Anthony (9/5): Amazing!!! We really enjoyed our stay. - Perfect location, nice and quiet. The house had everything you needed. Nice walks with the dogs. An awesome place. highly recommended.
- Shayna (9/5): Will definitely be back!!! Had a blast! The accommodation is worth every cent and I can highly recommend! Lovely place t - Loved how big and spacious it was! Very modern and the views were amazing! The dirt road to the property but wasn’t too bad, just need to drive slowly. Also one of the beds the sheet was stained which wasn’t very nice.
- lauren (10/5): Loved our stay and def keen to re visit - Loved everything. Cottage was well equipped and beautifully styled
- sthe (10/5): - The location was perfect Need to add Knifes and big pots
- Nirvana (10/5): - Scenery, peaceful, relaxing, nature. On your site, it says you book the entire house. However, once we arrived, we were told we didn't have excess to the outside room and bath. This was quite annoying as 7 people had to share 2 bathrooms only.
- sookdew (10/5): - It was beautiful, the place was clean and cozy , better than what was expected !
- Melissa (10/5): - There was some spider webs in the lounge,on the 2 lights and the fridge in the kitchen wasn't really cooling the items in there.
- Lesleigh (10/5): Gorgeous place! - Absolutely everything!
What an exceptional place..The staff are so friendly Absolutely nothing
- Harilal (10/5): - We liked the tranquility of the place and the helper Mavis was wonderful.
- Senba (10/5): Weekend break - We had a wonderful weekend break at Lalamanzi. Loved the spacious house. Managed to use the pool before the rain came down. My little yorkie loved the abundance of yard to run around in. Will definitely be coming back for a longer stay 😃 Nothing to dislike
- Kriben (10/5): I will definitely be back -

- Kailee (10/5): A cozy, family-friendly getaway with charming touches and peaceful surroundings. - We had a wonderful stay at Lalamanzi Trout Cottage! The cottage was perfectly cozy and comfortably accommodated our big family—it was also great for our toddlers. We loved the fireplace and the farm-fresh eggs were a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be back! The patio lighting was quite dim, which made it difficult to enjoy the space fully in the evenings.
- VibhavW (9/5): -
- Jason (9/5): Memorable holidays - The peacefulness of the area, the neatness and the facilities. Lovely dishes and beddings. Less lighting by the braai area especially in the evening.
- Juli-anne (8/5): Very good -
- Liezle (10/5): We loved our stay and will definitely book again! - Perfect location, beautiful views, comfortable with great facilities! Great value for money!
- Graham (8/5): well located and suitable venue for our family -
- Silindile (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqueline (9/5): Pet friendly family haven - Everything was lovely. Home is comfortable, well appointed and welcoming. We had a fantastic weekend. Dogs had a blast. No light at the braai area. No signage at present. Road to the house untarred.
- Busisiwe (8/5): It was a beautiful , quiet and peaceful staycation for us - I liked the cottage , it was beautiful, spacious and airy , and clean. The wifi was working as expected, the kitchen beautiful and big. The bedrooms were pretty and clean. I didn’t like that you had to phone to get info on things you need to use like stove. I think they should have something pinned on the wall that tells you how to use appliances and other stuff.
I didn’t like that we couldn’t sit on outside couches because there were frogs 🐸. And that the master bedroom en-suite is not closed up, there’s no privacy in the bathroom.
I also didn’t like that when it’s raining it becomes difficult to get to and out of the cottage
- Ciska (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant location, beautiful place. Hosts were amazing.
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Varachia (7/5): Nice peaceful setting - Easy to find and close to main attractions in the area.
All in all we had a good stay as we enjoy our frequent visits to the area. The cleanliness was a big issue for me with little care taken to ensure the house was properly cleaned before our arrival.
Filthy coffee cups with food stuck inside
Microwave had food on the ceiling
Grimy Soap suds covered the shower soap shelves.
Old used 1/4 bits of soap lying in the shower.
The couch was filthy and covered in dust that we couldn’t sit on it at all and heaps of cobwebs and dust in between the couch and windowsill.
The shutter doors were very dirty.
Kitchen shelf had sugar and food crumbs still on it from a previous guest
No firewood was supplied as advertised
No free range eggs as mentioned by the owner
Dirty kitchen cloth which was never changed
The owner apologised and simply offered a discount on my next visit !
But never supplied the firewood or the eggs or changed the filthy dishcloths. Or offered a discount on this stay for the lack of attention or care for cleanliness .

- Mahmood (10/5): excellent guest house - we really enjoyed the bedrooms they were really comfortable. the entire house was really beautiful it had all the necessities. Great location the kids really loved every bit of the place will definitely be coming back the only problem was that the power went out and it was a bit difficult to get around in the dark
- Makhosi (8/5): Perfect holiday destination, the pictures don't do justice for the place. Loved our maid, gog Mavis. - We ran out of gas and could not cook our dinner. The only time we used the stove was in the morning for breakfast
- Sharron (9/5): Superb -
- Zee (9/5): Superb - I love the fact that the location was off the grid, quiet and close to the river. The house had all amneties of a home, enough space for my family. The kids had lots of fun both indoors and outdoors. The bedrooms were spacious, the attic was warm during the day and ample space for all. I loved the chimney, the patio was huge with built in braai area and had warm couch and cushions. I'm definitely returning next winter. Thank you Morgan and Andrew for extending your beautiful home to my family. The gravel road leading to the estate is terrible for cars and destroys tyres. Difficult access
