• Cheryl (7/5): Good place - Location facing ocean. Close to restaurants and bars. Nice owner. Laundry available. Room large clean and great a/c which is needed as it's very hot. Close to ferry and many street festivals Everything was nice but had a bug issue only in kitchen so we did no cooking. Owner notified. At night hard to watch TV or sleep as street music was unbearably loud.

• Dominik (1/5): Forced to stay in different accommodation and pay more - Check in took an hour. Once I arrived, the host told me there was a problem with the room i booked, and sent me to a different address for an alternative, but forced me to pay a higher price. The accommodation I stayed in was fine, was still cheaper than anything in the vicinity that night, but being forced to pay more than the booking.com price is a straight up scam.
• Anja (3/5): Sind vor der Übernachtung abgereist - Verständnisvoller Vermieter, durften ohne Zahlung abreisen. Doppelzimmer oben ist grundsätzlich in Ordnung. Die gesamte Wohnung mit den drei Zimmern hat extrem nach einer Chemikalie gestunken, was Kopfweh verursacht hat und Sorge um die Gesundheit. Der Vermieter meinte, das sei normal, aber sowas haben wir in 4 Wochen in einfachen Unterkünften nicht erlebt. Es roch nach Schädlingsbekämpfung. Gemeinschaftsbad sah furchtbar aus, komplizierter Vorgang mit Schlössern, Codes und unzähligen Schlüsseln.

• Denise (5/5): Prima voor een nacht, maar neem oordoppen mee! - Het bed ligt goed! En de airco op de kamer is een prettige bijkomstigheid. De eigenaar woont ernaast en heeft tot de late uurtjes ONTIEGELIJK hard muziek gedraaid. Slapen was niet te doen. Ik ben dus ook niet uitgerust wakker geworden. En dan vind ik het de prijs niet waard!

• Ann (7/5): Good - The apartment had a nice terrace with sea view. Walking distance (5-10 minutes) to the ferry and to tour boat. Air condition in the bedrooms. Nice and helpful host. We stayed Friday and Saturday night, and there was street race with high music and racing motors outside the apartment all night. This is nothing our kind host could help, and it was a lot better Sunday night.

Victor is an amazing host, he is friendly, helpful, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. There’s nothing we didn’t like, everything met (and even exceeded) our expectations!

• Christopher (10/5): Good value place to stay right in the heart of Puntarenas. - I liked how close this place was to many restaurants and the beach (where you can see a wonderful sunset view). The owner was very friendly and gave me advice on my bicycle trip going south.
• Salli (3/5): You get what you pay for. - The location was good for walking on the beach. We never saw another person, the locks were difficult to open. The correspondence over WhatsApp with the owner seemed to require a lot more back and forth to establish a plan for payment than it should have.
• Lurdes (7/5): Good potential but neglected and lacking comfort - Lacking adequate furniture and kitchen needs improvement. Great location and host very friendly. Did not seem cared for. Bathroom has some loose tile pieces on wall that clothes may get caught on. Cannot do laundry and no stove in kitchen. Not enough plates or cutlery for house guests. No coffee or tea
• Xenia (9/5): Nice for a short stay - Very good for a short stay. The hosts are very kind and helpful. Viktor also speaks a bit English. Kitchen had everything you needed. Common space is nice and everything is clean. Puntarenas is busy on weekends (only locals) and quiet during the week. I booked the single room, which was downstairs and only had a small window to the landry area. It had a ventilator, however the air inside was very humid, stuffy and hot - wouldn't recomend booking it.

• Tina (4/5): Disappointing stay - Full kitchen with cold water in fridge was very nice. Sitting area/dining area in front was great with a fan. Bed was comfortable and the A/C was cold. TV was good with provided cable box. In the shower stall, had a drip line from the A/C just hanging there dripping water. Lots of noise from outside, not just cars/motorbikes, but dripping water and banging from some machine or something. Floors weren't clean, dust in corners. Complicated locks, multiple locks and keys made securing the location difficult. Parking was very tight for an SUV and the locking gate would get stuck in the locked position, had to open from the outside to get it unlocked. No receipt for payment in cash.
• Marius (10/5): Excellent Stay with Outstanding Hospitality!" - The accommodation was fantastic! Great location close to the ferry in Punta Arenas. The hostess was incredibly kind, and her husband even gave us a ride to the bus station in the morning. Absolutely recommend!

The property was fine, but Puntarenas is a very dirty and noisy city. There is garbage everywhere and at night it was difficult to sleep because of the loud music and traffic noises.

• James (9/5): Beach And Excellent Value - Nicely located on the main beach strip of the Town. Friendly helpful owner and family. Good wifi. Excellent price for a room with bathroom. Not really a negative, but more along the lines of a room in a family house rather than a dedicated hostel.
• Holly (9/5): Pleasant! - Wonderful hosts! Nice and clean, comfy bed. Washing machine for laundry was a plus! Good location across from the beach. Was a great last minute find. Kitchen was lacking cooking ware (also, things like cooking oils/salt etc. are helpful when traveling!). I think the place was new so maybe they will stock it more soon.
• Iwona (8/5): Very good - the location is very poorly marked, it's hard to find, there are no numbers on the street.The person who welcomed me wanted to give me a room without a window. Then I refused, then he showed me another room which was also not the room I booked, seeing that I was dissatisfied, he said I could cancel the reservation. I showed him my reservation, that I had a room with a sea view. The third time he showed me the right room. This man I think he wanted to put me in a room cheaper than the one I booked, it was very rude of him .

• Arnaud (9/5): Great place to stay. Outstanding - Great place to stay: a whole house on the beachfront. The owner lives next door, so perfect to get assistance. 3 rooms, which are not well described in booking: a large bedroom on the 2nd floor, a small/medium-size on the first floor, both with modern and well functionating AC. The last room in the basement is very tiny, has only a tiny window to the laundry room. Doable for one night, when you are really on budget travelling but not suitable for 2 ppl. Great open kitchen, sofa in the living room and free laundry :-) Great place to stay for one day but also for one week or longer. Really the bed we had in Costa Rica so far. The owner and his wife both do not speak english. This would make the communication for check-in a bit easier, but we made it! :-)

Extremely comfortable bed and bathroom was right next to bedroom. Very classy and clean. Highly recommended for a stay in this underrated pleasant and peaceful untouristed seaside town.

The room was sooooo hot inside, there was a fan but no aircon, it took me ages to fall asleep. A cockroach visited, I had to spray it with bug spray I found outside and there was no soap, shower gel or shampoo.

The location is excellent - very central and close to the beach! The room was clean and comfortable. Fantastic value for money! A large gap at the top of the bedroom door meant we didn’t feel we had too much privacy.
