• Miguel (7/5): Varanasi without filters - The best thing about this place is the people. Helpful and friendly. Location is bot for everyone as it is very close to the ghats. For us it was a plus. The room in the ground floor is a bit claustrophobic, ask for the 2nd or 3rd floor rooms if possible.

• Vinod (9/5): I am going with a team of ten on my next opportunity. That summs it up all. - The entrepreneur running it. Cannot find a better gem. And so helpful. He made us feel as if we are his family. Cannot find such honest and genuinely loving people anywhere else. Maybe Japan. Varanasi and especially Raj is not for the faint hearted. If you really want to jump into its DNA, stay there. It is a 200 year old property where the malik's great grandfathers lived. Not to mention the closeness to Manikarnika Ghat and great Saree shops and sweet bhandars. It has everything nearby, they problem is, what do you want. I was always a five star accommodation guy, but this place trumps it all. Depends on who you are and what do you want from Varanasi. This is not for everyone. People who does not understand the old Varanasi and its gullies, it is not for them. Not that we did not like, it, we loved it. But new generation folks who have no clue what they want from Varanasi and why they are visiting there might find it difficult. It was awesome. Will only stay there ever as long as the same person runs it and whenever we visit Varanasi.

He took care of our safety to the Max as we went during the mahakumbh. It is definitely recommended. There was nothing to not like!

• Prasan (10/5): Will visit again. - Mr. Mishra was to courteous receiving us from Mandakin with two of his helpers and guiding us between the lanes to the home stay. His hospitality and care for us really touched us deep within. Being arranging food for my kids or suggesting me for the larger than life shayan Arti I was in complete trance while being in the right place and at the right time. Thank-you Mishraji for all the guidance and suggestion and not to forget your helpful son who also another master piece. Thank-you both Lance towards the home stay could be bit cleaned.

• Vishaal (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was closer to the ghats and the main temple. The stay owner was really friendly and was responsive to all the queries i had. i suggest that if anyone is travelling solo this is the best place to stay.
• Vikash (9/5): Wonderful host with sweet nature. - It is conveniently located, be the temples or the ghats. They all are easily accessible just footsteps away from the place. if you are looking for a place centralised for your Kashi journey then this is a hidden gem. But do bear in mind it's a homestay not a hotel.
• Sreedevi (8/5): Amazing host, simple homestay near Manikarnika ghatw - We stayed for three nights at Raj homestay and the host Mr Mishra was extremely helpful and welcoming. He treated us like his own family attending to our needs. The room was spacious and had all basic amenities. The building is an old property and is not a luxury type of stay if you are looking for it. Room was kept clean despite the difficulty to maintain such a property in a location where we can access only by foot. No vehicles are allowed to this location as its very close to the Kashi vishwanath temple and Manikarnika ghat. Food is not available hence we had to get from outside. Mr Mishra came to pick us from the auto drop off point and hired a porter to carry our luggages. He also arranged a priest for us to do the pind daan ritual at ghat. Wifi was available in the house. The main highlight of this property is the location close to the mandir and ghats however elderly people may have difficulty reaching the spot. They can avail wheelchair services if they prefer. We thank you for all your services and for being a nice host for our family. Nothing to mention - at this price and location it's the best we could get

• Izabela (1/5): Terrible, never again, don’t stay here - Terrible never stay there again. Google map also shows different location I have had lots of problems with arriving as Uber car break up in the way after ricksha drive couldn’t find location because was wrong. Smell of mold, no window I struggle with breathing…. So I really struggle- cold water, old room, plugs didn’t work…. It was like horror movie terrible experience. I stayed there because I didn’t have chance as after all I arrive 1 am around yes was late but I didn’t know what to do as lots things happened + this horrible accommodation. Never stay there honestly one of the worst place stay one of 5 I remember!!! Owner was kind as after being lost he pick me up but location was wrong so no choice and I asked for different room as I know there are other free rooms but my request was declined. I arrived very tired and stressed and I did over reacted but I went through a lot of stress that night as I car break up and I haven’t get opinions for long time to book Uber as all was cancelled according to location…. And after all for 1 h I was looking for the home stay and I couldn’t find and after when I saw room I was even in more shock and I been in India few times before so I really didn’t expect that for that value of money
• Joan (6/5): Pleasant - The owner is really friendly and adorable. It was really nice meeting him. The location is close to the ghats and main temple. I was not in a room itself. I was in a space without proper walls, so privacy was not something i had. Also beds are not confortable, but i know they are now working on It to be better.

• Norman (9/5): Clean homestay close to the Ganga river - Close to the river and the holy places there ( ghats ). Restaurants and shops are not far away. Very friendly host. Clean room without smells. One external bathroom for the guest rooms, also clean, with mothball against insects. Very difficult to find, in a confusing network of tiny streets.
• Sayyunkta (10/5): RAJ HOME STAY IS MY HOME IN BENARAS!! - Where do I start from….finding Pradeep and Raj Homestay was a delight. It was unplanned but once I arrived to Raj Homestay , Pradeep just made our stay so surreal. From his meal to his hospitality to the very fact that he had solution to all our plans made the trip memorable. He was full of life stories and can’t forget the smile and warmth he extended to my mom brother and I .. we felt we were home. Anytime I called out his name he was there to accommodate our requests. It’s a value for money and great location to the Ganga ghat and Kashi temple barely 5 mins of walk. I highly recommend this place to all travelers as it’s seeing Benaras in its Glory. This place does not have AC but trust me the high celing and those fans and the old kothi is always pleasant from inside. You must try atleast one meal he gets it cooked from his house. It’s absolute love served on platter. PRADEEP JI we miss you and will come back soon!!! Have no complaints

The location is hard to find. Luckily, I called the host, and he picked me up. I was lost 1 minute to walk away from the house, so it's not so bad.

The host and staff are very friendly. In this price bracket one cannot find such a steal deal. Whenever I come back to Kashi, I'm gonna stay here for sure. The location is perfect for visiting all the temples and ghats.

• Calypsinchen (7/5): Quiet location and helpful owner - The owner is kind and very helpful. We felt very cold in the room, and as we both had a bad cough we asked for more blankets. The owner gave them directly to us. Location was away from the roads, why we didn't hear the noise. But: its not easy to find the Homestay and you have to walk through very dirty and narrow roads. WiFi was excellent and room was clean. We missed privacy. Bathroom was not ensuite and a safety camera watched us at the basin. In front of our room mostly one guy from staff sat on a Sofa, so that he could watch us inside our room or during brushing our teeth. Everyone can hear (and sometimes see) everything.

We had opportunity to taste local food with his home stay. A gentle warm and welcoming personality of Shri Pradip Mishra won our hearts. We would certainly recommend this home stay in Varanasi. Cleanliness in surrounding areas. And always there is scope for improvement.

• Ravi (10/5): Very good experience - It’s near to temple but need to remember the routes. Staff were really helpful to find out the way Beds can be made a bit comfortable. However mine was a short stay so no issues.
• Vijay (10/5): It’s another home for me. - On the arriving day , it’s little difficult for me to reach the location ( later understood that most of location are in Varanasi near temple is like that ), lately with my elderly parents. Immediately knowing the property owner arranged a wheelchair for elderly parents. On knowing 2 of our group are diabetic, he arranged Dinner. On nxt day ( 07.07.2023) he arranged 2 persons with wheel chair and made the Darshan of Kasi viswanath . On that night , my father suddenly fell ill due to Urinary catheter obstruction and his diabetic level soaring up .subsequently his blood pressure shooted up to 160 /100. Property owner arranged a local practitioner immediately, who has taken care of the patient. Believe me … property owner ( Pradeep Mishra Ji ) awake through out the night along with me. On morning ( 08.07.2023) my father immediately shifted to hospital with his help. On that day his family taken care of other elderly people. On my return journey, Pradeep Mishra Ji arranged transportation and my father discharged safely. Now I feel real meaning of home stay. Really Now with folding hands 🙏 thank you Pradeep Mishra Ji … because of you we are able to make Kasi Yatra successful. The money charged for property is peanuts in front of your dedicated service to mankind. Thank you sir. The words are less to describe I advise any person with elderly parents/ elderly family members has to choose RAJ HOME STAY. It’s the care required, u can’t compensate with money. Little difficult to get in . Most of the properties are inside temple area ( Pavitra bhoomi area)are like that.
