Guest Reviews
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Sama Camp is run by a family of brothers who definitely were accommodating and wanted to make every guest have an enjoyable experience. They were very clear with their instructions for arriving at the camp, provided great package options for different activities, and were very personable. Wadi Rum is such an interesting area, and we really enjoyed the jeep tours at night and during the day. At night, we did the stargazing tour and visited a Bedouin family for some tea and to see a camel being milked. During the 4-hour day tour, we got to see prehistoric carvings, climb up different rock formations, and got treated to more tea! Staying in a bubble tent was a great experience overall!
- Naeema (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sorin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matilde (8/5): Very good - Is the pace to go to visit the Wadi Run! Between the many options you have to stay at Wadi Rim this should be the choice for all those that like wilderness but also comfort. Saif and his staff are super kind and try to accomodate the requests of all guests. The offers of night star haze. Desert ride and Bedouin dinner are in line with good prizes and worthwhile doing them. Some details need adjustments but in principle all was really perfect
- Klimova (10/5): This place is highly recommended to real travelers who want to see the wonders of the desert. - It was one of the most breathtaking moments in our lives. We stayed in a comfortable bubble camp. The room has everything you need: comfortable beds with white bedding, private bathroom with cold and hot water, conditioner, an electric kettle and a refrigerator and even Wi-Fi! We could not believe it is possible in the desert. Picturesque views just from your window! Friendly staff and especially Saif, the owner, who arranged fantastic Jeep tour to the desert and night tour. In the camp you can also try authentic Bedouin cuisine! It is simple, but extremely delicious.
- Nataliya (9/5): Helpful and considerate staff, reasonable camp facilities. - The staff made every effort to accommodate all our requests, including arranging a desert tour. The transfer to and from the camp was smooth. While the camp facilities and food were quite basic, they were still reasonable given that the camp is located in the desert.
- Denisa (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful stay we had. Saif the accommodator made our stay very memorable. He was around most of the time making sure everything was Ok. We ordered a sunrise camel tour, which he forgot about, but did everything possible to solve his mistake and at the end the experience turned out to be awesome. Accommodation cozy in the middle if the desert, beds very comfy, food lovely, breakfast with huge variety.
Watching the preparation of traditional beduin zarb dinner was an experience.
- Gahwj (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable room. Delicious homemade cuisine by staff Organizing trips with learned and very friendly driver Smart
- Robert (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - We spent just one night at Sama Rum Camp with my girlfriend, but it was more than enough to create unforgettable memories. Right after booking, the owner, Saif, reached out to us with all the necessary information about how to get there and what tours were available – communication was smooth and easy.
When we arrived, the desert adventure started right away. Although we came late, we were welcomed like family and treated to a delicious dinner prepared by Saif’s wife before heading into the desert by jeep. The warm hospitality and conversations made us feel instantly at home. Everyone spoke English very well, which made everything even easier.
The camp is stunning. We stayed in a bubble tent with a breathtaking view of the desert. Saif was always nearby, checking in on every guest with kindness, a smile, and genuine care.
Sami and Ahmed made sure the food was delicious and everything stayed clean and organized. Faisal led an incredible desert tour – definitely worth joining if you get the chance!
And of course, we have to mention Taqua, Ahmed’s adorable German shepherd puppy, who stole our hearts.
Even though we only had one night in Wadi Rum, we felt safe, welcomed, and completely at peace. We can only imagine how special a longer stay would be.
Thank you to everyone at Sama Rum Camp – we truly hope to return one day!
- Eduardo (6/5): Fair for the price you pay - Staff is very kind and attentive, rooms are comfortable and have the basic necessary equipment.
Hotel charges 20JOD per person for the transport between the meeting point and the camp, unless you do a tour with them.
The car that came to pick us up was scary and falling apart giving a wrong idea and first impression.
Dinner and Breakfast are very simple, with water, coffee and tea only.
- Kqiwjwn (10/5): Exceptional - Room was comfortable and warm, after a day of walking through Petra and Wadi Rum the bed felt so soft and fell asleep instantly. Going to sleep and waking up in the middle of the dessert was an experience I will never forget. I would recommend this camp to anyone looking for a unique experience!
- Hahio (10/5): Exceptional - I experienced wonderful hospitality! The food was good, but the dancing was even better. I was also impressed by how good the wifi was and how nice the rooms/bedrooms were, considering the fact that you’re in the middle of the desert. I highly recommend staying here during your visit to Wadi Rum.
- Edgars (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mireia (10/5): Amazing stay at Wadi Rum - Everything: location is amazing, the 4h tour was great, Faisal and his brothers took very good care of our family. Hope to be back!
- Gilbert (7/5): Good -
- Aldaoud (1/5): Overvalued - The bubble room was okey The food was not good was not enough for everyone was too expensive for it’s value
It’s way over value
- Martin (10/5): Lovely desert experience with amazing food :) - The location is very secluded but still close. No light pollution so very nice for stars gazing. There are many opportunities around, the staff is very friendly and the food is amazing! They bake the dinner in a traditional beduin way and it is like attraction too. Everything was great!
- T (9/5): Good & well - good location & good arrangement northing
- Anastasiia (10/5): Exceptional - It’s amazing place. Thank you Saif for taking care of us. Incredible meals here and friendly atmosphere ♥️♥️♥️
- Iuliia (10/5): It’s worth to come back! And not once!:) - It was awesome experience! Very welcoming hosts, clean, good food!
- Olga (10/5): 😉😉😉 - It was a fantastic trip with my friends!! The deserve is wonderful,The place is cosy with ,the atmosphere is peaceful!!Fantastic jeep tour ,imaging sunset 😊The camp and the owner Saif is very friendly and helpful!! Highly recommend to everyone 👍👍👍
- Antony (9/5): Superb - The location and friendliness of the staff
- Melody (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great time at Sam’s Rum Camp! Saif was very hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed for a nice stay. The bubble tent had an amazing view and we really enjoyed the Jeep tour
- Dominika (10/5): Our stay there was an unforgettable experience! Thank you Faisal and Saif! We will miss sights we were able to see with - The sunset trip was INCREDIBLE! Our guide and driver Faisal showed us beautiful locations. He got us to Beduin tents as well, where we drank very tasty tea and learned how to tie a scarf local way. We also got very good prices of additional activities from Saif! WiFi was surprisingly good for a desert, worked well. Water was hot and heating wasn’t necessary, because we took warm shower, which kept us warm under the sheets. There were enough outlets, but you should have some adapter with you (in Jordan there are few types of outlets, in our previous locations we had typical European type, and in Sama Rum and our next location we had UK type - absolutely not camp’s fault, you should prepare yourself for such eventualities). Dinner and breakfast were both tasty, drinking water was available, but I still recommend to take yours with you. Camp is far enough from lights not to be interrupted by light pollution while stargazing. Our tent was a bit dirty and some toiletries were missing (no towels, no soap or shower gel etc.). And Moon disturbed our stargazing, but again - not camp’s fault! :) I recommend checking phase of the moon on days you will be there, so you can avoid light pollution from it.
- Yoann (5/5): Mixed feelings - The camp arranged my taxi from Petra to Wadi Rum and then from Wadi Rum to Amman with the same driver, who was really pleasant. The jeep tour and dinner were nice, and the location itself was beautiful. The staff, Faisal and Saif, were generally friendly. Some jokes made me uneasy, the AC and hot water didn’t work, and the only standard plug was inconveniently placed. Transport and excursion organization was last-minute despite prior arrangements, with some prices revealed too late.
- Isaac (8/5): Tour in Wadi Rum - The communication with Saif was very good. He's a very nice host and he explained all the activities that were available. There were some things that I would improve:
The capsules are very nice, however the windows were made of plastic that was already very opaque and we couldn't enjoy the view. Saif was aware of this and during our stay people were replacing the plastic for glass and it honestly looked gorgeous, unfortunately we couldn't experience it.
The first night Saif did all the activities and he made sure everyone was enjoying and having a good time. The second day one of his brothers was in charge and he wasn't very talkative, it was fine but we honestly missed the charm of Saif. His brother was a bit boring.
Most camps don't really profit on accommodation but on the tours and activities they offer. In our case, we did the full package including an evening jeep tour in the surroundings with sunset, delicious traditional beduin dinner, night tour visiting a beduin family, 6-hour jeep tour in Wadi Rum and camel tour. We also included breakfast and lunch. The price was cheaper compared to booking activities separately, however it's not so cheap in general. I would advise you to consider a budget and from that ask for a suitable tour.
I would suggest improving the stargazing cause it was very short and not really inside Wadi Rum. Also the camel tour felt a bit in a hurry and just because we had already paid for it, to be honest I didn't really enjoy it. It was supposed to last one hour, but arriving and coming back from the place took 40 min, so in reality it lasted just around 15 min.
We also previously asked for the possibility to pay with card and they confirmed it but at the last minute they mentioned it had a commission of 8JOD. I wish that was mentioned from the beginning.
The hot water only works for around 1 hour a day and you have to coordinate it with the staff.
- Maksym (7/5): Good - Very good bed and beautiful view The hot water wasn’t working, air conditioning also worked sometimes
- Arshad (10/5): Great value for an exceptional experience - Saif is a very great host. Great communication in advance. Helped a lot with activities. Nothing

- Bryson (10/5): Exceptional - We had great fun the rooms were very clean and the staff were great
Very nice and accommodating
Dinner was very nice
We did a 6 hour trip with the host which was amazing
- Alessandro (10/5): Exceptional - loved this place
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional - The place was very clean and smelled very nice. Saif is a very nice hospitable person. It can offer you different additional experiences if you are attracted to it. Best of all was the great location as it is in an isolated location away from other camps. Which means you will be with fewer people in your area. The site is equipped with solar lights, so, you don't have to worry about walking during the night. You may see that the transparent "window" in the bubble is a bit not as transparent as we first thought. But actually when you turn off the room lights, you can easily see through the night. We wanted to go with a cheaper option, but fortunately we changed our minds at the last minute. Other tents face the mountains while the bubbles have a much nicer view and we think as long as you only do this once, go for the bubble and not the regular tent.
- Demian (10/5): Exceptional - The place was nice and the bed was beautifully designed. The tents were portable and had a very traditional feel. The location was deep in the desert, with beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - The facilities and people were great. A must do, the activities were really fun and everyone was very helpful and did their best to make sure we had the best time
- Giovanni (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fine
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Sama was nothing less than blissful. Saif was an amazing host. He was very welcoming and made sure our tours and activities were arranged promptly upon our arrival. The rooms were clean and spacious. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. The jeep sunset and night tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, ensured we saw the best sights and scenic views of Wadi Rum. We also sand boarded, and boy was that an adventure. Cold water was provided during the tours as well, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend staying at Sama.
- Gimmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daived (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good I recommend it
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - I'm fully satisfied with everything. Saif was really helpful and polite, food was tasty, room is clean, Jeep tours are great. Place is perfect for quite rest without people. Fully recommended. Nothing
- Iuliia (10/5): Don’t worry just come ! You will be treated like a dearest guest ❣️ - Very clean, comfortable bed, good food, jeep tour exceeded our expectations! It was so adventurous! And special thanks to the owner of the camp Saif for his welcoming and hospitality! Everything was perfect!
