- Reynaud (10/5): Great! Will come back if I get to Kyoto again in the future. - Everything. Pretty well located even though it's a bit far from the center of the city, it's quite easy to get anywhere from there. There are tones of awesome shrines and temples just right besides the house.
It's very well equipped and you get all the information you need even suggestions.
there are shops open late close to the house if you're angry. Juste wished it could be a bit closer from the center of the city hehe.
Oh and it's really a residential area, so it can be a bit noisy on the morning when you're used to wake up late like us hehe. But even that I'm just picky, it was perfect.

- Frank (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf in prachtig gerenoveerde Japanse woning in hartje Kyoto - Prachtig ingericht, zeer comfortabel (ook voor koude avonden). Heeft alle basisvoorzieningen. Ligging was geweldig, gerenoveerde woning in leuk straatje met typisch Japanse woningen Niets bijzonders

- PEI CHI (10/5):
- Tia (9/5): Perfect property for any length stay in Kyoto! - Was very pleasantly surprised by how big the property was in a nice quiet location. Very traditional in style with lovely amenities including a great heating/cooling ac system. Everything was perfect, the only thing maybe to note is that the bedroom can’t get completely dark because of the fire exit sign.
- viviana (9/5): A beautiful traditional japanese experience - We liked that it was a traditional house but with modern amenities, in a very quiet neighborhood. Very clean, very nice decoration. It had air conditioned but also heating on the floor that we used one time. We even had a rustic small garden were we had tea or coffee. There was a tatami but we slept on mattress.
To get to the public transport takes about 15 minutes, but we liked to walk and watch the narrow streets. There are buses and it is also the metro station, some shops , some little restaurants- japanese, korean. We took breakfast at home and dinner in town, every day. So I think it is the perfect choice for somebody who likes a quiet traditional place, likes to feel more at home than at the hotel, and doesn't mind walking, even with the luggage.
You absolutely need a socket adaptor.
They responded very quickly, we communicated well in written English but the lady doesn't speak English. It is not a critic, it is more an advice. I came to Kyoto to attend a congress and I needed to iron my clothes but it was not on the listed items and when I asked they said very politely that they cannot provide. The solution is a dry cleaning shop that is near the metro station.
- Rakhmatulin (9/5): Superb - Very calm place, a lot of space inside, very clean, all necessary is in.
- Eleanor (9/5): A lovely place to stay in a wonderful city - Ken Kun House was in a fantastic location, close to beautiful Parks, Temples and Shrines. It had everything that was needed for the two of us. The information that we received was very accurate and made our check in very smooth.
- Tietz (10/5): Exceptional - It's a beautiful renovated Machiya, great combination of traditional design and modern comfort. Felt spacious for its size. The door lock mechanism was extremely finnicy.
- Zhiquan (10/5): Exceptional - If you're looking for the authentic Kyoto Japanese style living, this is the place to be. I particularly enjoyed the small center courtyard where I spend time reading everyday. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. Every amenity is just steps away. If you can ride a bike everywhere, it'll be even nicer. nothing. I lived there for a week, but there is generally no cleaning service
- Minh (9/5): Staying at Ken kun's house is very convenient & so cheap - Location make Private , internal decor with Japanese culture make Warmly space . I had a small bug that itched when I slept the second night. Maybe the previous resident was here with the dog so the bug was left behind? I don’t know must to find reason
- Silvia (10/5): Incredible place to stay in Kyoto! - We absolutely loved this place. It's stunning and taken care of to the minimum detail. Ken Kun House is not only beautiful but also very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and more and the beds are super comfortable. I would come back again for sure, actually, I wish I could live there! The house is also very easy to reach by public transport, we took the bus every day. There are delicious bakeries in the area and supermarkets!
- Jodi (10/5): Very quiet, comfortable, clean and affordable place to stay. - The cleanliness, coziness and quaintness of the property was superb. Very clean and very well taken care of! Highly recommend others to check it out and would definitely plan another stay if the dates were available. Also loved the location. I can’t think of anything. If you have trouble with stairs, this could be a problem but the railings were sturdy and well made.
Sad we needed to leave a little early because of the impending typhoon.
