Guest Reviews

- Pavi (8/5): Enjoyed it. - It’s a nice little hut and for the price the location and stay is perfect. The shower facilities could be better. When in Philipines prepare to have cold showers.

- Flynn (8/5): - Great location staff very friendly and accommodating- get what you pay for! Was basic but very clean. No hot water but didn’t need it anyway a cold shower was better
- Yassine (8/5): - Staff so friendly and helpful No hot water but don't really need, so nothing
- Irvin Borj (9/5): - A good 5-10 min walk from the main area/docking area for boat tours. Staff were great. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Water interruption on my last day but the staff made an extra effort to fill up the water bucket in the shower.

- Monika (9/5): - Dam Dam Place is a great place to stay in Port Barton. We had three bungalows. Inside you've got everything that you need, comfortable bed, bathroom and the most important air-conditioning. I would definitely recommend this place. All the staff were super nice, friendly and helpful. They helped us to book scooters for all day and bus tickets
- Eva Mae Marie (10/5): - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — A Thoughtful and Memorable Stay at Damdam Place
Our stay at Damdam Place was such a warm and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner and staff made us feel genuinely welcome. There was no water supply when we first got there, but they were quick to find a solution for us, showing how committed they are to their guests’ comfort.
Throughout our stay, they were very accommodating — always ready to help whenever we needed anything. One unexpected but much-appreciated gesture was when they upgraded our bed to a bigger one, without us even asking. My boyfriend, who is quite tall, was really happy with the extra space — it made a huge difference in our comfort.
The atmosphere was peaceful, the staff were kind, and their dogs added an extra charm — they were so cute and friendly! As a final surprise, Damdam gifted us with a free extra night on our last day, which we truly didn’t expect. That act of generosity really showed how much they value their guests.
Although there were minor hiccups like the initial water issue, everything was handled with care and kindness. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and eager to come back again.
Highly recommend Damdam Place for anyone looking for a cozy, thoughtful, and pet-friendly getaway!

- CireAyacnabmit (8/5): - Good value for money. Nice location, near all necessities. Space limited.
- Kathy (8/5): Relaxing stay. Thank you Dam Dam. - Location None
- Erika (7/5): quiet, unbothered staffs, - the place is near the beach a lot of stores/ restaurant closes early and also closed during sundays.
- Joe (8/5): Very good stay - The staff were super helpful and friendly When it rained, there was no water pressure at all in our bathroom which makes it difficult during raining season!
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caren (4/5): Not worthy - Location I paid for a private room, and for two days, I didn't have electricity for several hours. Besides, one full day I didn't even have wifi. They didn't care, I'm 100% honest, they were fooling me with different excuses and doing nothing to fix wifi. I was pissed off, and they didn't even offer me a free breakfast, a drink, or something as a gift for the lack of service. Again, I paid for a private room, which I couldn't use because the most basic services were not working.
- Derek (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and quiet in the evening. Opposite a chicken farm so cockerels from 4:00. However a good price and food from the bar was good
- Sandra (6/5): This place is basic. To make it more appealing it should include breakfast. - The mattress was rock hard.
- Ignacio (8/5): Very good -
- A (3/5): Poor - Port Barton has beautiful bars on the beach. The boat trip is worth it as you can see a lot of marine nature. The hotel is fine for one night. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The attached bar is good and suitable for evening cocktails and breakfast. There is free coffee and water. The town is not the prettiest. It is incredibly loud at night and the huts are very thinly soundproof. We had a family room on the first night, which is recommended. The individual cabins probably aren't, as we didn't have a modernized bathroom like the one in the picture, but rather an old one, and everything gets wet when you shower.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nerras (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice leisure area, where you can also have a delicious meal. The bungalows are nice, the place itself is cozy. Although there is nothing special inside the bungalow, everything worked as it should. Maybe location is a bit on far side, but in such small town it was not a problem at all.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fetu (8/5): Very good -
- Micaela (5/5): Passable - The location We didn’t have any wifi in our room, we had to go to the restaurant to use wifi. And also there’s no hot shower!!!
- K. (5/5): There are better options out there - Stuff is really nice and helpful 👍🏼
Water refill station available 🌞
You can easily book tours through them
Restaurant available - food is good but not really socialising (so its no common area) Rooms really need to be renewed. Since there are so many holes in the floor cocrotches come in and we were very disturbed about that.. the door to the bathroom was very hard to close you had to pull very hard, which is annoying by night when the other person sleeps.
Beds where not comfortable - you heard and felt every single move
We travel a lot. We know that we cannot expect luxury for such a low price but we paid LESS for better quality!
- De (10/5): i love it! Especially the owner of Dam Dam, sir Dam Is very friendly, accommodating i just hope we stayed a few more nig - It’s too peaceful and good to relax. Very quiet, no noise friendly staff!! Nothing so far
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rv (9/5): Will choose stay again if we go back - good value for a cheap price of stay, clean and accomodating staff All good
- Davide (5/5): Passable -
- Fabienne (7/5): Great value for money if you are at the beach all day anyways - Great location, nice staff Small beds in the cottages and the shower/toilet as a combination
- George (6/5): Noisy - Nice lady on reception.
Free water Noise from road, kitchen etc.
Very dark in the cabin which was old and full of gaps to let mosquitos in.
Not good value for money
- Kieran (3/5): Good value for money, a bit run down and needs tlc - Dam dam place is good value for money, don’t expect luxury but you get a hut to yourself for a very reasonable price with a private bathroom. They’re all quite run down so don’t expect an amazing quality hut they all definitely need tlc but it does the job for one night No hot water but I believe this is an issue in all of port Barton, be prepared for this
- Thomas (6/5): Pleasant - Small bungalow, quite old. The staff was really nice. It didn‘t match the pictures I saw online when I booked.
- Hugo (10/5): Exceptional - Do staff....
- Sempere (8/5): Very good -
- Kristel (9/5): Affordable - I like the place it is so near to the beach. And it is quite. The smell inside, idk if it is bc it is kubo. But all goods naman. And the lights, I would suggest to use the white bulbs not yellow.
- Volha (3/5): Moldy walls, cold water, very noisy – lots of homeless dogs, chanied roosters, construction - Like having my own bathroom and water cooler, and I got a cottage father away from the road after staying at Russle Place – it was an insanity with the noise there. Moldy walls, moldy stuffed air in the cottage. Was worried how bad it cold be for my health. Got bad cough when I was there. Extremely noisy area. At night there are dogs barking non–stop, very loudly – lots of homeless dogs (I felt very horrible and fed them AM and PM, still, businesses should be doing spay and neuter). In the early morning around 5am roosters start – lots of roosters(attached by a rope on their leg along the road) right across from Dam Dam. Around 7 am construction starts – everywhere in the area and immediately around Dam Dam. Local teenagers add karaoke with giant speakers to it. I recommend to stay in more expensive places at the other side of the main intersection. It's only cold water in the shower. The kid who managed it was very nice, I feel bad for him.
- Richard (8/5): We had a pleasant stay in Damdam's place. - Damdam , the owner was very accommodating. He went out of his way to cater to our needs. The members of his staff were all very helpful. Damdam gave us fresh fruits from his trees. He even took us to the doctor's clinic and picked us up when my son got sick. He also arranged our transportation for us The cottages needed repairs and renovation.
- Millie (8/5): Very good - Great location and staff, and very clean. Arranged a great boat tour and pick up to PPS. Bungalow with balcony was very cute. Would have been nice to have AC in our room. Be prepared to have bucket showers and to have no running water at all in the bathroom!
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - Cute little houses, not very expensive Low pressure of water and sometimes no running water at all.
Cockroach im the room
- Manuel (9/5): Very nice and well located - The staff was really nice and the location was really good too. The breaksfast is very diverse and complete. This hotel is the perfect balance between city center access and tranquillity.
- Priya (2/5): Very poor -
- Tiffany (4/5): Disappointing -
- Christoph (8/5): Very good -
- Michal (7/5): Good -
- Baltasar (8/5): Good value for money! - Little nice cabins Wifi not working at all within the cabin, only in the restaurant area. Bathroom after a shower keeps with water forever, don’t have a squashy neither the floor is properly levelled for the water to get drained.
- Martin (7/5): Great location, close to beach and activities. A bit insectful in the bungalows. But overall very happy with our stay - Close to the beach and activities. Friendly and helpful personnel The windows in our bungalow couldn’t close completely to avoid mosquitoes to get in. Furthermore there were some holes in the floor, so insects could enter. But we had a net over the bed to keep insects away during the nights. Lack of water at times.
- Laura (10/5): Excellent - The food they serve in the restaurant was absolutely amazing and the accommodation was comfortable. Also was well located walk to the beach or to the center.
- Freya (8/5): Overall would recommend - The bungalows are good and have what you need, no AC was not an issue. It is well located walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The food here was really good especially good to try some filipino cuisine. We were able to organise a boat tour here too. The wifi didn’t really work during our stay and the shower was really low pressure.
- Emily (5/5): Passable - The location was great. The staff were so friendly. The food in the restaurant was good. They booked transport and a bike for us. Comfy bed with nice linen. The garden is lovely. There seems to be an ongoing water issue and I am surprised no previous reviews have mentioned this. we struggled to have showers as there was no water, the water when it was there was also only cold and just a dribble. The room needs a freshen up, a fresh lick of paint in the room and bathroom would help.
The price we paid does not reflect the quality. This was a private room.
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kumar (9/5): Superb -
- Natascha (9/5): We were only here for our last night in port Barton but would have loved to stay longer. Good value for money - The chilled vibe, cute sitting area to have nice and tasty food
The staff is so welcoming and friendly It was a bit dusty when we first entered in the room, but nothing that couldn’t get fixed by leaving the door open for a short time for fresh air
- Roxane (10/5): Amazing Stay at Dam Dam - Really chill and cool place, better than expected. It was a nice surprise when we arrived. Staff is amazing, very welcoming and helpful.
The private bungalow was comfy, the coffee and restaurant area is really nice to hang out too with new friends. Out of the main town road so pretty quite at night.
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jana (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my friends had a great time staying at Dam Dam, the people who work here are really wonderful and helpful, thank you!!! if I get the chance I'd come here again :)
- Cloe (7/5): Amazing ! - I really liked having my own bungalow. It was really nice. Also the location of the place is really great. The shower was cold but regarding the price it is completely ok.
- Ceris (8/5): Very good - The staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant had a lovely vibe with lots of people without feeling too busy.
- Philpott (8/5): Very good -
- Micheal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Domenica (7/5): All good :) - Nice chill out area and bar with good-working wifi, the staff is very friendly and the island hopping tour organized by them was great! Highly recommend booking it with Dam Dam :) No hot water in the shower
- Chaithanya (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (9/5): Nice bungalows and very friendly owners - - Very friendly and helpful owners
- we booked the island tour directly here (husband is the captain) and the tour was amazing! Including breakfast in the own restaurant and great lunch! We liked this tour even more than the one in El Nido
- very nice restaurant and free water for guests
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - We spent 4 fantastic nights in a beautiful and clean bungalow. The owner and her team were very kind, very helpful in all we needed (tours, scooter, information, etc) so we had a great experience with them. The atmosphere was magic and peaceful. Dont lose the opportunity to stay here. Thank you Roan, see you soon!
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed in a private room, great sized cabin with good air conditioning and well functioning bathroom facilities.
In a good location.
Highlight is the staff. From the moment you walk in until you leave they really go out of your way to feel comfortable and welcome. When I fell ill in the middle of the night Dam Dam was very calm and caring towards me. Would 100% recommend this place.
- Inesa (8/5): Very good -
- Ilse (9/5): Superb - The staff was amazing, we felt so welcome and they helped us out so much! We booked the tour with them as well for a great price and we had an amazing stay. Would’ve loved to stay longer than we did. Only cold shower (maybe this was mentioned and we didn’t see it).
- Paola (9/5): Cute bungalows and lovely people! - Dam Dam and the stuff are super nice, really lovely and helpful. The bungalows are comfortable and really clean with a small terrace. The food is yummy. It's well located close to the center and the beach. We can highly recommend this place. Everything perfect
- Alison (9/5): Superb - The location is very good and quiet.
Dam and his team are very kind and helpful people. Do an island tour with them, they have their boat and it worth it.
- Britt (9/5): Superb -
- Jonatan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Shauleen is an amazing, kind and helpful host who made my stay in Port Barton so much nicer! I got sick during the stay and she cared a lot for me, bought me medicine and made sure I was okay. I wouldn‘t have gotten better without her, so thank you so much!
- Michelle (10/5): Everything you are looking for! price quality-ratio more than surpassed - I’ve stayed for a little over one week and I couldn’t have wished for anything better. It‘s a small town so everything is in walking distance. Besides free water refill, amazing breakfast which is included and an amazing hangout area, it’s the owner and his team of amazing people who have made my stay as pleasant as you could ever wish for. Always welcoming with a smile, amazing energy, they took care of everything and everyone so well. To everyone that is going to visit Port Barton I can only recommend Dam Dam! It can get a little hot in the dorm but there is a fan on the ceiling and a little one for the beds!! Tropical climate is part of the adventure. If it should get too warm you can cool down in the main area.
- Anthea (10/5): Exceptional - The dorms are big and always clean. There are lockers for your belongings and a little fan at every bed. The showers do have a good pressure and where always clean. You can have the included breakfast whenever you want. Also the choices are really good! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The common area is nice and you also have a little terrace in front of every dorm. I would stay here again!
- Justyna (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cato (8/5): Very good - Really nice place! Unfortunatly not a lot of other travelers so no atmosphere. The restaurant serves really good and cheap food, breakfast is included and nice too. Beds are comfy, no aircon though but a fan on the bed. Recommend staying here
- Ella (6/5): pleasant stay with accommodating staff - free water, towels and sheets included, curtains in the dorm for privacy, relaxed vibe, nice shower room, not far from beach, complimentary breakfasts and coffee/tea, friendly staff, private lockers with key in bed area no WiFi, towels leave you covered in white fluff, no AC, no hand soap at the sinks for the toilets/shower, no hot water for shower
- Julieta (8/5): Good place for great value - Breakfast, location and personnel were def the high points at their place. The chill area is also cool to relax or read -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - The perfect place to stay - I couldn’t fault anything. Staff were fantastic, huts were brilliant.
- Ella (8/5): Very good - very nice staff, good free breakfast, walking distance from the bus station upper beds have the locker at the side with no stairs so its a bit of a struggle to get your stuff there, no aircon (there is a fan tho)
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - The guys who Run it are so lovely and welcoming. helpful with everything you need like booking tours through them, vans, where to eat and drink etc.
The breakfast is also fab and the rest of the menu is great.
