Guest Reviews
- Chloe (9/5): Great modern hotel in centre of new forest with a good breakfast - Breakfast was lovely, facilities were all in great condition. Comfortable bed, nice shower, space in communal lounge to sit.
Hot chocolate was amazing - chocolaty liquid sugar - so good. Also had nice strawberry, blueberry, granola and yoghurt for breakfast as well as toast, muffins, cereal and pastry.
Right in the new forest, I could see wild horses out from the window all day, and some guests went cycling from the front of the hotel.
Well positioned to access different parts of the new forest Walking into the village to eat from the hotel was not massively well lit up so felt a little unsafe, but we used a phone torch to fix it. Also, the entrance was beautifully lit up at night, which helped for the last stretch.
Limited space to hang clothes, but we were only there for 2 nights, so it's not an issue.
As other reviews say you could hear people on stairs but not too big an issue.

- Amy (7/5): Really nice. Good walks in the forest. Great location and good hotel. - Lovely location. Very easy digital check-in. Very nicely done-out townhouse. Everything very clean. Our room was Margaret’s Bottom and it was really nice - very comfy large bed. Everything you could want/need. Comfy sofa to lounge on. All very efficient. Decent breakfast, croissants, yoghurt, fruit, cereal. The downstairs lounge is very nice. All in all, a good stay. Thanks I would have given The Cloud top marks except for one thing (and for us, it was a big thing) the awful air freshener smell in the room. We searched but couldn’t find where it was coming from until the second night when we found this tiny deodoriser thing tucked away behind a leg of the sofa! It absolutely ruined the lovely room and so we sat downstairs in the lounge to get away from the smell. Didn’t sleep much the first night, although the bed was great… the smell seemed to get everywhere! Even opening the windows did little to remove the it. Once we found the deodoriser and put it out in the corridor, we could breathe in our room again! Please don’t use this stuff. It’s beyond ghastly. I cannot believe it’s necessary. Nothing at all wrong apart from that but it’s amazing how such a small thing can ruin an otherwise lovely experience.
- Rob (10/5): A lovely property in a lovely location. Quiet and well thought out. We were blessed with the weather but nonetheless I w - Loved the interior design and location. Very calming relaxed atmosphere Nothing

- Julia (9/5): A relaxing, comfy stay at the B&B - Nice selection for breakfast, homely modern feel throughout and quiet social areas downstairs are a bonus. Some minor noise from corridor/stairs due to layout of the house when people were coming in to or leaving their rooms but not a big issue.
Gezellige pubs.
- Darren (9/5): Quiet, relaxing stay in Brockenhurst - Spotlessly clean, large bedroom and large bathroom (with quality toiletries). Very comfortable beds, whisper-quiet location. Friendly, welcoming staff, good choice of (continental) breakfast.
Nice touch to have complimentary biscuits and Dairy Milk chocolate in the room.
Huge amount of books and magazines to peruse in the shared lounge, lovely outside area to soak up the sunset.
Lots of free parking. Hardly nothing to improve upon.... perhaps add more milk to the in-room supplies, or replenish the milk daily.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Very good break with grown up children & their partners - Modern yet character. Particularly enjoyed the lounge/eating area. Rooms freshly decorated with luxury bathroom suites Nothing
- Howard (10/5): Wonderful - Excellent value for money. Wonderful clean and tidy B&B.
- Jamie (10/5): Excellent - Great location, very clean and decorated to a high standard, had great views from my window of the New Forest
- Nigel (9/5): Excellent bed and breakfast hotel - Lovely location, well looked after and great service. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Replacing towels when staying multiple nights. Drinking glasses in room.

- Vanessa (9/5): Beautiful B&B in stunning location. Helpful and friendly staff - recommended! - Lovely B&B with a long history. Room great. Cuppa lounge fantastic. Super staff! Feather duvet: too heavy, hot and husband allergic to down. Only discovered late at bedtime, so too late to sort. Otherwise would have scored full marks!
- Peter (9/5): - The shared lounge area with free teas and coffees was really lovely and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Our room was lovely but very small.
- Ian (9/5): -
- Mark (7/5): -
- Ann B (8/5): Een fantastische ervaring in Brockenhurst!
- Jane (9/5): -
- Anna (10/5): - Snyggt, rent och fantastisk frukost.

- Christopher (10/5): Great B&B in an ideal location ! - The property itself had a lovely country feel about it. Presh had great knowledge of the walks we wanted to do. The location was perfect for us, particularly as we didn’t have a car. Simon (the owner) is a great host, and Jess is absolutely delightful ! There was nothing not to like !
- Matthew (10/5): - Brilliant location. Loved walking across the heath and into the forest.
Good continental style breakfast.
- jeremy (10/5): -
- Andres (6/5): - Excellent location, close to the rail station and restaurants. Breakfast was good as well. You could hear noises from the other rooms, like toilet flushing, talking, showering, etc. It was really hard to fall asleep with all those noises at night.
- susan (10/5): Amazing stay in the New Forest - The hotel was amazing had a fabulous stay there
Bedroom was beautiful with a lovely view over the common The Breakfast was great with a nice sitting area also outside weather dependant
Would definitely recommend. Wasn’t anything really but a small guest fridge in breakfast area would have been useful especially for cold drinks as weather so warm
- nicola (8/5): Thought it was a hotel due to the information on Booking, but it’s b and b - Location , view and standard of decor , nice choice of breakfast Room was very small and could hear noise from the other rooms, toilets flushing, talking and showering.
- Ferne (10/5): - Everybody was very nice. The location was good. It was comfortable. Not really a case of didn’t like, but things that I noticed was there was no place to hang a hand towel in the bathroom, and the only other issue we had was that we couldn’t adjust the shower properly to a warm, constant flow. I realize these are extremely minor though I would still say it’s really an excellent place to stay but input his input.
- Sarah (8/5): Great place in a great location - Lovely bed and breakfast in a great location
Wide choice of continental breakfast
Friendly helpful staff
Spotless
- Wendy (9/5): Great hotel in a perfect location - Lovely place to stay in a great location within walking distance of Brockenhurst.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was a little small but more than adequate for a weekend stay. Overall loved our stay here. The room was a little small with no wardrobe, it did have hooks to hang a few clothes though. All ok for a couple of nights.
- Emma (7/5): Bit disappointing - Lovely owners. We had booked before the take over of the original hotel. And for the size of our room it was just too high. Continental breakfast was good for a continental breakfast but expected full English at that price. Maybe I didnt read properly? But the bedroom and bathroom were ridiculously small and thus uncomfortable

- Isabel (9/5): -
- Christian (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): Delightful property with comfortable beds and great breakfast - Attractive comfortable recently renovated, and in a lovely location overlooking common with passing ponies, donkeys, and cattle. Some rooms a little small.
- Julie (8/5): -
- Diane (9/5): Lovely weekend break, hired E bikes from Cycle Experience one day, visited Lymington the other. - Lovely modern boutique B&B, really good continental breakfast..
Good location, with some excellent restaurants within walking distance. Some boiled eggs would have been appreciated with the buffet breakfast.
- gw (10/5): - Great b&b in Brockenhurst. The owner was very kind and let us store bags there after checkout.
- justin (10/5): Perfect stay and would come back again - Everything lovely location very quiet and right in the heart of the new forest Nothing
- Phil (9/5): -
- Guest (9/5): Great value for superb rooms and fab location - Beautifully decorated and presented. Lovely relaxed vibe and in a quiet location. The shared guest area is comfortable and has games. Simple but generous breakfast. The use of paper cups for the all day tea and coffee.
- Fiona (9/5): Excellent bolt hole in the New Forest - ideal for a short break any time of the year. - Loved the location and the interior, all very well designed. Lovely breakfast. Liked being able to come and go as we pleased with access code to the front door. Would have preferred longer access to the lounge into the evening.
Would have appreciated clean mugs and bins being emptied during our 3 night stay.
- Richard (9/5): A lovely little townhouse in one of our favourite places in the UK - The Cloud was spotlessly clean. The view from the window over Black Knowl was beautiful. The room was charming. Breakfast was lovely.
- Simone (10/5): Sehr gerne wieder!

- Joseph (8/5): -
- Lydia (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): - A lovely place to stay in a wonderful location. The breakfast buffet was excellent- no cooked food on offer, but a fine range of cereals, fruits, yoghurts etc The room perhaps a little smaller than expected, but we loved our stay.
- Samantha (10/5): Beautifully appointed welcoming guest house in the heart of Brockenhurst in the beautiful New Forest. - A lovely place to stay right in the heart of Brockenhurst. Rooms and bathroom facilities were extremely clean and had a calm lounge and dining area. Breakfast just as I like it. Great storage area for our bikes and lots of parking. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): -
- Jemma (9/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Great location, immaculate inside and a great team of friendly people. - Great location Nothing
- rory (10/5): Just perfect - A little bit of tranquil heaven. Beautiful pristine property. Staff very welcoming and informative. Breakfast was delicious and well presented. Room was immaculate. Loved all the decor throughout the house. Beautiful area. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Graham Hunter (9/5): - Location and setting were perfect. Our hosts directed us to useful local amenities and beauty spots. The breakfast was good. The social space made it easy to interact with our fellow guests. Nothing to report.
- Anja (10/5): -
- Sørensen (8/5): Flott sted, men gode fasiliteter. - Koselig og hyggelig betjening. God atmosfære. God senger og nytt bad på rommet. Innholdsrik, men enkel frokost. Helt topp for oss.
- Guest (10/5): Great boutique b and b - What a fab little discovery in the New Forest - we loved our night here
- ron (9/5): - Shelly and Simon were amazing hosts. They even drove us to the train station. The room was tiny and there were no shelves in the shower room for meds and toiletries.
- Ken (9/5): The owners were very friendly and accommodating and made us most welcome - thank you both. Ken & Gill. -
- Sarah (9/5): Ideal modern property in prime location with very friendly /helpful owners - Spotlessly clean
Central to amenities
Tea and coffee on tap all day
Owners and staff very friendly No clean towels in 3 days
Had to ask for replenishments for coffee pods/milk in room
- Margaret (9/5): A nice, friendly small hotel where you can walk straight into the New Forest. - Wonderful location with the New Forest just across the lane. Easy walking distance from Brockenhurst station, on the main line to London. Friendly and very helpful staff. Well designed accommodation, including a pleasant lounge. The bedroom was quite small, but fine if you just staying for a few nights.
- owen (10/5): -
- Zack (10/5): - Great building and very up to date and highly clean which was great. Was really comfy.
- Susan (9/5): Comfortable Clean High Quality Property - Well presented spotlessly clean great location. Only disappointment is as there is no cooked breakfast. The selection of yogurt fruit croissant etc is excellent though.
- Andy (10/5): Will definitely come again Perfect! - Great location, peaceful, and comfortable, with lots of very nice little touches. The owners Simon and Shelley were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended
- Studley (9/5): Beautiful place, excellent location - Location perfect, breakfast excerllent.
- Lorraine (9/5): lovely friendly hotel- good location definitely go back - The location was an easy reach of lovely pubs and the new forest would of liked the sitting room to be open as we returned from dinner and wanted to sit in lounge but closed at 8 pm 🥲
- Sarah (10/5): Extremely enjoyable - The location was perfect and the owners very friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious Nothing
- julian (9/5): Very comfortable, friendly and quiet place to stay - The location was very good, quiet but close access to main routes. First impression was very good. The property is in excellent condition and the public areas were very clean. The cleanliness, even of the public toilet was of a high standard. The room was very well appointed, some may wish for a TV but I had no problem with that. The staff were very friendly and engaging and made for a welcoming stay. There is a comfortable lounge area with a garden terrace area with complimentary coffee/tea which was a nice bonus. For the life of me, I couldn't work out the coffee machine in the room! Perhaps a boiled egg or greater cold meats selection for breakfast but having spoken to the owner that may be coming. However, it's a suggestion, definitely not a complaint.
- Thomas (10/5): Fantastic location, room and breakfast! - Location is top tier, beautiful walks all around and easy to walk into the village for great pubs and food. The room was so comfortable, breakfast was great and the owners and staff were so helpful and lovely to chat to in the morning.
- Marjolein (9/5): - The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We had some nice interactions with Presh. The place was beautifully renovated and everything felt very new. The view from our room onto the greenery where the village horses and donkey’s roam freely was really special. It was a nice start to our holiday.
- Sally (9/5): -
- Jones (10/5): - Slightly on the expensive side
- Lynda (9/5): Very enjoyable - Excellent location. Ponies on the doorstep! Walkable to Brockenhurst restaurants. Shortage of electric sockets in the room.
- Guest (9/5): Enjoyable -
- Josie (8/5): Nice B&B right in the New Forest. - It's very beautifully designed, in a fantastic location right in the New Forest. It's also very clean. There's no reception staff, the only staff we saw was the breakfast person. So no welcome or anyone to explain things. But there was information around.
The room was small and hot. But fine.
The digital entry system.
- Sara (9/5): Lovely little hotel - Very clean, comfortable beds. Nice bathroom. Was a bit warm in our top floor room. But we asked for a fan and the hotel were brilliant and dropped one off.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Kieran (7/5): Overall pretty good value in an excellent location. - Comfortable beds. Great to have a nice bath. Quiet. Very good friendly service. The bedrooms are a bit small. Storing luggage is very tight, and hanging space is limited. Breakfast was OK (I’d suggest being able to boil eggs so they’re hot rather than cold)
- Naomi (9/5): - Great location directly opposite the forest. Walking distance to town.
Very clean and easily accessible with lots of parking
- Michael (8/5): - We were back at the cloud since refurbishment. Boy!!! Has everything changed. But, Great cental location, all new forest amenities available. Enjoyed a chat with 2 other guests at breakfast. The rooms are very efficient, clean and tidy but seemed small and not cuddly. No tv or radio in the room as guests are supposed to mingle with other guests. (Only 2 other guests when we stayed), and we were out for the evening. Breakfast was tasty but could have been heartier.
- Gerry (10/5): A wonderful place to stay in Brockenhurst, I highly recommend this venue. - Superb location, an ideal base to explore the New Forest with excellent walks and cycle routes on the doorstep.
- Madeline (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Really wonderful, highly recommend - Location is beautiful, staff are v helpful. Beds are comfortable and the whole property is tastefully decorated. Well sound proofed we didn’t hear anyone else Maybe a few more breakfast cereal options
- Angela (7/5): Beautiful place but felt cramped and the bedroom. - Beautifully decorated, nice lounge area and easy parking. Bedroom was small and not enough surface space to put anything. Breakfast was very limited.
- Holly (8/5): -
- Silvana (9/5): -
- Marleen (9/5): - Excellent location, feeling like a home more than a hotel.
Delicious pastries for breakfast and free drinks/ fruit available. If you are travelling by public transport be aware of the code to enter the house is not valid to store luggage after check out.
- Tony (10/5): -
- Tim (9/5): All great - Wonderful place with many old memories Neat and tidy
- Michael (10/5): A very pleasant convenient place to stay in a fabulous location. - We stayed for two nights at The Cloud. I last stayed there in 1998 and it is very different now! Very smartly decorated and furnished and it was comfortable.
- Brian (8/5): Suited our requirements. A good base to explore the New Forest and we were able to suit ourselves. - Clean efficient stylish with its family feel. Gadgetry was fun. No TV and minimal staffing made it a bit impersonal.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Lovely. - Well run, efficient, immaculate, very tastefully refurbished. Access is all digital - noone to welcome you or see you off. It all worked fine, but it's just not the same as human hospitality. We did meet the lady who provided breakfast (the owner?) who was delightful!
