Everything accessed by code, no keys to remember. Minutes walk to grocery shops, restaurant, cafe, pub. Everything you need on the doorstep. Fiona was a pleasure to deal with. Booking.com set up for payment of rental and booking deposit was unusual, all had to be handled directly with owner. Fiona was quick to assist and reassure me. 🙏

• Emmanuel (9/5): Great. - No keys - nothing to collect, nothing to lose. Nice, clean apartment, spacious. Very pleasant environment plus the ever helpful Fiona. I felt a little cold the first night, but otherwise it was great.

My only gripe was that the WiFi signal didn't reach into the bedroom - but this was actually a good thing: no distractions at bedtime. As always, Fiona was superb and very helpful. Had a great stay again, in Syston.

Perhaps the tv could do with. But of an upgrade, but acceptable…. The apartment was otherwise perfect for our needs and well located.

• Linda (9/5): Comfortable apartment - ID and large deposit req'd - The location was perfect for us as we were meeting friends, good parking, all the facilities we needed, a very comfortable apartment. Communication with the owners was fraught. 1. It would be helpful to be told that the parking and entry is off Walkers Way, not High St. 2. They required a deposit, and terms and conditions stated it was payable seven days in advance. But with no instructions on how to pay. But they didn't ask for it until I contacted them asking for entry details the day before we were due to arrive. This meant a bank transfer was impossible given international time zones. I was told I would only get access codes after the deposit was paid. But then I was given no details on how to process it! So again I had to ask. By this time, we were nervous about this being a possible scam. 3. An ID photo was demanded. But how was I supposed to send it? I had to ask for email contact details. We eventually got it all sorted, but it was stressful the day before arrival. (This was the 29th accommodation we've stayed in on this trip, and the only one that required a deposit and ID.) The deposit was refunded promptly. 4. At the outset of our communications, I advised via bookingdotcom's excellent messaging service that I was having problems with my phone number and global roaming. So I asked if we could use WhatsApp for communications rather than text and phone. No response except that she sent me her phone number, which I already had. Then she rang me! I managed to get texting to work, as she advised that she would only give the key codes via text for security reasons. Then she refused to text and sent it via booking dot com "for security reasons." She then texted me during my stay about another matter (gaining access to the property during our stay), which I only discovered days later.

The location is in a village/town close to amenities but not so close that you are impacted by the everyday hustle and bustle. The accommodation was comfortable and clean and with old historic features. Easy access to the countryside and motorway connections. And the host was just delightful, couldn't do enough to help. There wasn't one thing I didn't like.

Location was great you could walk to three pubs, 3 grocery stores, a few good restaurants and lovely steam trail and park. It is also centrally located to get to may other little towns around the area.

• Claire (9/5): Reunion weekend - A great property in a very good location to system centre. A decent sized area to park the cars with cctv in the car park. Brilliant good sized apartment nice lounge and kitchen. A nice area to work with a desk if you need to do some work. Getting in was sometimes a problem as the lady who is living there another tenant keeps putting the latch down the owner is addressing the issue. When we were leaving we were loading the car and so we were only outside the door and she locked us out again but luckily we managed to catch the door before it closed as the key was in my bag in the apartment so that would have been a pain. Fiona is a great host and I would stay with her again any problems just need to call her very helpful.

• Hannah (10/5): Fantastic apartment, great location - This is a lovely apartment, just as it is in the pictures, although there should be more of them to show it off! It's presented throughout to a very high standard and doesn't disappoint. A handy workspace with desk and chair was an unexpected bonus as I was there for work. The bathroom had both a bath and a really good shower. There is a good sized double bedroom with lots of storage. The living room is a great size, with a huge sofa which also makes a comfortable and generously sized spare double bed. TV reception is good and has netflix/you tube etc. The good sized kitchen has everything you need including a washing machine. The flat is kitted out with pretty much everything you'd need, including plenty of towels. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk sachets are all provided, along with washing up liquid and cleaning materials. The chocolates were a lovely touch too! WiFi is good for general use and the heating is easily controllable. The location has everything you need on the doorstep including supermarkets, bars, pubs, restaurants and local shops etc, and is only 15-20 mins from Leicester city centre by car/taxi and is only about 5 mins walk to the train station which is 10 mins into Leicester. Despite being on a high street it is surprisingly quiet, especially at the back in the bedroom, and the private parking is a massive bonus. I would highly recommend this apartment for both long and short stays, nothing to criticise, excellent communication from the host and thank you for a lovely stay, I would definitely come again! Only thing I can think of is that the living room is such a good size it would be nice to have a bigger TV!

• Steve (8/5): We would certainly stay here again and recommend it for a weekend away - Being a self contained apartment, we provided our own breakfast / meals. The location was ideal for us, with many local amenities close by, shops, pubs, takeaways/restaurants and good transport links with the railway station only a short walk away and only an 8 min train journey into Leicester. Although in the centre of a small town the apartment was ideal for our trip giving good access to everything we needed and not noisy at all. Modern comfortable decor and furnishing to what must be a listed building gave it a homely feeling. Host was very helpful despite poor phone signal hampering communication for key collection. Communication due to phone signal being very poor made getting the code for the lock box a little more anxious than we would have liked. Everything turned out okay in the end though, so no criticism aimed at the host.

However Fiona answered her phone and talked us through it, and was very kind and gracious in her support.

From collecting the keys to settling in for our weekend stay was seemless. Extremely good communication via email with host who was friendly and helpful and gave us a great tip about a very good bakery nearby. The apartment has everything that you could require for a comfortable stay, a true home from home. The host also went above and beyond with small touches such as chocolates on the bed, milk in fridge, tea/coffee, washing up products etc to make our stay even more comfortable. Free Wi-Fi available at the property and onsite parking which was a bonus. Fantastic location - Shops, pubs, takeaways a short walk away. Country walks, National Space Centre, Leicester City Centre, Thurmaston Shopping Centre a short drive away. I highly recommend this place and definitely would not hesitate to return when back in the area. There was nothing not to like.

• Hannah (5/5): Passable - very close to local shops. we stayed on the top floor, was very updated and modern had lots of amenities kettle,oven, pans fridge quite spacious I don’t know if this was bwvause we were at the top but you could hear EVERYTHING! the cars and lorry’s going past would wake us up as it was so load the crossing next to the building you can hear the noises. the roof is very low so my partner kept smacking his head on the door frames! the bed is also right under a dipped roof which I also slammed my head on! the bed wasn’t the best :(

• Hashith (9/5): very nice, clean, tidy place with everything you could want for a short stay - clean and efficient checking in process. they will divided a cot and high chair for our grandson we had to look after our grandson during the trip (family wedding nearby). there were hazards there for toddlers but no more than any other apartment whose min function is to cater for couples or adults.

• Angela (9/5): A fabulous apartment, in a lovely area managed by a friendly host. Would certainly recommend! - The host was very friendly and checked we were ok. The property is based in Syston and is an excellent location as there are many facilities including coffee shops, bars, restaurants and other shops within metres of the apartment. The apartment was clean, well laid out, spacious and furnished to a high standard, with everything you could need. The only niggle is that the double bed was a small double bed (we are used to larger beds) but there are no other issues at all.

The bed was smaller than it could have been and the bathroom needed some shelves and hooks ( but these are small things and overall it was very good).
