Guest Reviews
- Nikoleta balážová (10/5): - We fall in love with this house. It was so cozy and the view on the park was very nice. And upstairs rooms with private shower was the best.

- Grace (9/5): Great stay in a lovely area - The property was lovely, very warm, clean, and well-decorated period property. Great space with large bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, etc. It was perfect for our family group over Easter, and the hosts had left us Easter decorations, flowers, and chocolate eggs! It is in a great position overlooking a park in Pontcanna, which is a really nice area of Cardiff. We cooked some meals at the property and ate them in the dining room, which enabled our family to gather at the table. The water was hot, and the downstairs shower was nice. The kitchen was quite well-equipped. I wasn't aware that it was an upstairs flat when I booked it and the stairs might be a problem for some guests. It was not possible to get to the car park because of workmen's vans and cars in the lane behind the house. I think this was only temporary, as they were working in the garden of the property next door. This wasn't a problem because we found street parking, luckily. The promise of a car park was one of the reasons for booking the property.

- Susy (8/5): Spacious and well located property with friendly and helpful owner. - Nice location in the city - easy to get to and easy to find out way around in a place we don’t know. Owner and manager very helpful in sorting out an issue with the boiler. We loved the dining room decor! We weren’t aware it was a first floor property and rear access from the car parking space wasn’t great in the wet weather.
- PATRYCJUSZ (10/5): Excellent! - 100% satisfied!
- Davide (9/5): - Spazioso

- Jenay (8/5): A lovely weekend away with friends - Comfy beds and plenty of room in a good location
- Marie (9/5): A great stay in this spacious, well-positioned property. - There were x6 of us (3 couples) needing accomodation whilst we attending a wedding.
The accomodation was perfect for us! Spacious, 3 showers, comfortable beds and great communication from Mike.
Would definitely recommend.
- Steven (8/5): - Nice big spacious accommodation, with good parking to the rear.
Good location with park directly over the road.
Cheap taxi to city centre around £5/£6 .
Also close to bus stops.
Good communication from Mike Memory foam pillows, not our personal preference as very hard.
Had to buy a couple of our own from supermarket.
- Snowy (9/5): - Very good location 👌 and the house has plenty of character Nothing
- Sharon (5/5): Pontcanna - The location was ideal. The owner who lives in a basement flat at the property was very kind and lent me her hairdryer. She also allowed our 3 cars to park in the secure yard provided. I had not realised that parking for only 1 car was allowed. She also provided us with food recycling bags as the housekeeping had forgotten. No hairdryer (see above). The accomodation was not particulary clean eg the dining room table and placemats had not bern wiped, pans and frypans not particulary clean or in good condition. Very little preparation space in the kitchen. Pillow cases were placed directly onto the foam ie no protector or undercase used. The blinds in the upstairs rooms made it difficult to open the windows which is essential in this warm weather. We did not use the showers in the upstairs bedrooms.
- Kimberley (7/5): Lovely property, great for a family stay - This is a great apartment for a family gathering. We loved the living spaces, the living room and dining room, they were perfect for our family of 5 adults. The living room was great for relaxing and with a couple of couches, and chairs for the older members of the family. There was plenty of space and it was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed including a dishwasher and a lovely stainless steel kettle. The shower on the main floor was great, and there were 3 toilets. Great location near to Cardiff Centre and 5 min from the coach station by car. Glad that they had a parking space available at the back, as parking in that area on the street was not possible, it was so busy. Although located on a busy-ish road, inside the apartment was quiet and peaceful. As other had mentioned there were a few things that could have been better.
This visit was a rare family gathering with my Dad and Mum-in-law who are 86 and 92, so I wanted it to be perfect and comfortable for them.
When we arrived there was no heating. I contacted the host about 9pm as we started to get very cold then. He replied quickly and got the heating turned on, but only for about 1 hour, so it was not enough time to warm up the rooms. We were all very cold that first night and the next morning. After that the heating was turned on.
Some things were not clean, such as the place mats and a few of other things. Not a big deal, but would have been nice not to have to clean things before using them.
There was a really strong scent of synthetic air fresheners in the hallway of the front door that could not be removed. I have chemical sensitivity, so this was unpleasant. Once inside the apartment though, there were no chemical smells which I was grateful for.
A couple of the lamps were broken, which would have been useful if they had worked. We had to move the lamps from the bedrooms into the living and dining rooms as as not to have the bright overhead lamps on. There were a few other broken things too which could be cleared away. With more attention to detail and this place could be perfect.
- Victoria (9/5): Relaxed stay in very nice neighbourhood - Lovely quiet spacious flat, green out look, parking on site, short walk to cathedral, parks. Easy key lock, and undemanding house rules Some decor needs attention, bring small food prep knives.
- Clare (7/5): Good -
- Seán (10/5): Clean comfortable stylish duplex above ground floor - Gorgeous house overlooking the fields in Pontcanna - a nice walk into town and Principality Stadium. Well equipped, with a nice sitting room, comfortable beds and memory foam pillows. 3 showers and 3 toilets. Close to cafés, bars and restaurants. Parking out the back easily accessible and secure.
- Gladstone (10/5): Beautiful place to relax and enjoy Cardiff. - There was good communication, with all instructions sent to me well before my visit. Lock box access to the key was very convenient for checking in and checking out. It was conveniently located, very spacious, comfy, and cosy. I like running, so it was a bonus to be opposite the park. We left a mobile phone in the house and Mike was kind enough to organise postage. There was absolutely nothing to dislike about the property. It was excellent value for money and located at a convenient location - only 1.6miles to Cardiff city.
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Spacious rooms, well furnished, comfortable sofas and chairs, good location for exploring surrounding area. Lack of work surfaces in the kitchen.
- Kosturos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Séverine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Such lovely accommodation and perfect for our needs. Beautifully decorated and clean and spacious. Very good communication from host. Opposite lovely park. Shops and pubs a few minutes walk and only a short distance from Cardiff Centre. Just what we were looking for. Would definitely return. Stair were a little tricky for my elderly mother as there was no handrail for the last couple of steps but we were able to support her so wasn't too much trouble.
- Keith (8/5): Lovely period properly overlooking fields in a great area. -
- Becky (7/5): A nice stay, but not perfect - We liked the location and that there was plenty of space. The fact that it was decorated for Christmas was a nice touch (although the Christmas tree seemed to be either super dusty or a bit mouldy - we didn't want to get too close! The kitchen was not well equipped - there were not enough glasses, and lots of basic things missing (no small knife or peeler, no grater). The house is not cheap so would have expected things to be spot on.
There was nowhere to hang coats etc which was awkward as our visit was during a wet winter!
I didn't think that the listing was sufficiently clear that the place was a first floor apartment - it wasn't a problem for us but had the kids been younger it would have made things tricky!
- Adrian (7/5): Great. Good loaction, spacious accommodation, comfortable. - Great location Central heating was off / too low - very cold on first night and had to ask for it to be turned up on day 2. Turned up / on when we asked.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Serghis (9/5): Superb - Big house, good location, communication was great.
- Debra (7/5): Cardiff Trip - Accommodation once inside was great, comfortable and generous. At the time of making the booking, I looked at all the photos, which showed 2 cars parked in the back yard, so thought that will be perfect, as the 5 of us needed to travel in 2 cars. However, we were informed a few days before travel, that the flat only had parking for 1 car, (not on the website, as the other is used by the person living in ground floor flat) and it was a total nightmare every night finding a space on the street for the 2nd car, especially in the pouring rain! Access into property from the parking area at the rear of the flat up the high metal stairs is precarious, but otherwise it's a long walk down the alley and up another street round to front door on the main road if you've parked in the yard. Also double yellows so can't park and unload there. The kitchen equipment was sparse for 6 people potentially, ie: 3 tumblers, (we drank our OJ at breakfast from wine glasses😁), no tin opener, no oven gloves but the dishwasher was a god send! For the rates charged per night, this property should have everything spot on, but the location is actually perfect for doing anything in Cardiff which is it's saving grace.
- Norma (9/5): An ideal location and value for money - The property is approximately 1 mile from the city centre and was the ideal location for us. The property was very clean. The facilities provided were good. The beds were comfortable. Also nice large bath towels. Nothing
- Richard (10/5): Comfortable ,clelan and well appointed - No breakfast provided : self catering toilet seat in main bathroom kept falling off. Shower head on bedroom on the second floor right hand side as you go up the stairs pointed at the wall the whole time
- Samantha (8/5): Great location, good off street parking and a comfortable stay for a few days - Pretty good location, off street parking, had (almost) everything we needed A little more information wrt which door internally upon arrival would have been useful. Didn't realise it was a first floor maisonette.
- Kiran (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): convenient location with parking for 1 car - location attic rooms very warm in hot weather
- Paul (9/5): Great stay in a lovely property. - The property was spacious, warm and comfortable. a superb location.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Decgaz (10/5): Exceptional -
