Guest Reviews
- Mateusz (10/5): - Felt very private despite the room being in hosts home.
- Gail (10/5): A welcoming, comfortable, homely stay. - The hosts, Chris and Julie, were very friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome and offered advice on local facilities and places of interest. The room was clean and comfortable, with lots of little extra touches such as delicious locally sourced biscuits with the tea making facilities, hand wash and hand cream in the bathroom, a box of tissues and slippers in the bedroom. Would highly recommend. Nothing
- Svetlana (9/5): - Very friendly and pleasant owners. Nice area, easy walk to the waterfall. Great pub nearby - The Turkey Inn.
- kevin (9/5): Kevs stay - Very clean , comfortable bed , friendly host Nothing
- Samster1977 (7/5): Poppy's Place - Good location and lovely and warm The water bottle the fact that it says have a cold drink on us but seal was already broke on the bottle of water.
- Patrick (10/5): - Owners were very nice and friendly helpfull Nothing all spot on
- Silviu (10/5): -
- Leanne Gemma (10/5): Lovely place to visit, 10/10 recommend - The hosts let us park up at their house prior to check in so we could get an uber into Haworth. The metal recycled water bottles next to the bed. They are a lovely touch however must be difficult to clean, I'd suggest a jug of water as the bottles has a moldy smellš
- Amos (10/5): We liked staying here very much and found it to be a very quiet neighborhood. - Poppy's Place was sort of a home-stay, we had the entire bottom floor which was separate from the home above. We had our own bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry room. A washer was available for a fee. Parking was tight; but, it was right in front of the door on the property where we stayed. It seems common to have very little parking in the U.K. in front of houses along the street, many people park along the street or right in the middle of it. It is situated on a large hill with a PUB very nearby. The location was very well positioned for excursions to the south end of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the area north of the Midlands. We spent several days there and were perfectly happy with the accommodations. It was a self-catering; but, we had stayed at many such places in the 40+ days of our holiday. We had a stock of cereal, milk, bread for toast, fruit, drinks, water and such that made our stay very convenient. Our host was very knowledgeable about the area and many suggestions for our travels. We had a very nice stay in their home, it was very quiet considering there were many neighbors. Everything was very nice with no complaints.
- christine (7/5): Lovely hosts and a really good value place to stay ⦠just not for us! - Location, easy access to walks and great village pub. Loved the separate kitchen utility facilities and the bathroom was great - good shower and ample towels. This place is perfect for walkers -plenty of hallway space for gear and access to washing machine. We had the impression it was a separate unit however it is the ground floor of owners house so couldnāt walk naked to bathroom next door ⦠only a problem if you are of an age that gets up in the night! Polyester sheets are a big no no for us but the owner went out to get a new cotton sheet to replace duvet because I suffer from night sweats - that was above and beyond - really very kind! The room was a little small and nowhere to sit to do hair/makeup.
- Mike (9/5): Ideal location and comfortable. - Great location and was excellent value for money. The room could be improved with better privacy through ground floor window.
- Heather (8/5): The owners were lovely and the accommodation was great and well presented. Just the noise from above - The Room was extremely comfortable and the bathroom lovely and clean. The location was stunning and very close to Howarth. Lovely local pub the Turkey Inn, in a very quiet village setting of Lostock There was a lot of noise from footfall from the floor above. Which as it is a shared accommodation with the owner is probably to be expected. Advice would be a little sound proofing. To allow guests more quiet. But apart from that excellent š
- Andy (9/5): Comfy bedroom in a super location for Howorth / Bradford - Comfy bedroom, super location for Howorth / Bradford, lovely host Limited facilities for eating in the room - otherwise great
- Robert (10/5): - Friendlies of the staff
- Shelagh (9/5): Lovely comfortable stay . - As it was Airbnb we brought our own breakfast but there was a fridge and bowls etc for us to do that .
It was a lovely room with some very nice touches . It was very clean and quiet . The host was friendly and helpful. We hadnāt really known what to expect but it was great ! So nothing !
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed previously, hence why we rebooked this year. Perfect for our requirement. Nothing!!!
- Natasha (10/5): Very comfortable and peaceful night! - Beautiful little hamlet and very quiet location! Extremely comfortable bed and was made to feel very welcome! N/A
- Irene (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (1/5): Bad - The bedding was covered in black hairs.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (8/5): Great value for money. - Comfortable room, adjoining bathroom, clean and use of small kitchen area.
- Terence (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location handy for Bronte country. The roads! Pothole county!
- Sonya (10/5): Very enjoyable, clean fresh room and great facilities - Very friendly hosts ,
- Rachael (7/5): Good - Lovely hosts, down to earth, cosy room and comfy bed, very helpful there wasn't anything we didn't like
- Liam (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (10/5): Quietly Superb - Good, but quiet location. Near an excellent pub.
Spotlessly clean. Everything i needed for my stay. Owners were really great.
Most of all. I felt safe there. Will book Poppy's Place again!
- Geraldine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacko (10/5): cozy great place to stay as a base to travel around - nice cozy place
- Craig (7/5): Good -
- Sam (9/5): Stay at Poppy's place - The host was very welcoming, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was possibly the best shower I've had in a long time. There was nothing which we didn't like.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect Poppy's Place - Poppy's place is in a great location, in a lovely peaceful hamlet. There's a great local pub nearby and the staff are really friendly and welcoming.
The room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfortable. Lots of facilities were available to use, which could be really useful.
Poppy's Place is only around 2 miles from Haworth, which was about 8 quid in a taxi.
There's lots of info in the room about many local attractions. There's lots to see in this area.
Fantastic stay with lovely hosts, will use again if visiting the area and can definitely recommend. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was super clean. Chris was welcoming and helpful. Great location to explore the area. Would definitely stay here again
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - Location and friendly and helpful staff
- David (10/5): Excellent break and rest - Location was good.
Close to my brother All fine by me
- Freia (10/5): So much more then just a room - Lovely, quiet and clean room.
Beautiful area. Very kind host. We can't think of anything negativeš
- Leonie (9/5): Superb - The room was small but comfortable with a bathroom just down the hall. There was also a small utility room with a microwave and a small fridge, couple of plates and bowls and some cutlery which were all much appreciated as we had brought some food for our dinner and breakfast and were able to heat it up.
Our host was very welcoming and in formative. Even though we had warm food for a meal there was no where to sit and eat it except on the end of the bed. It would have been nice to have a small table and chairs somewhere.
- Nigel (8/5): Great for an overnight stop - Location , parking, clean , water , tea and coffee making , TV well temperamental but got it working by switch off at wall as advised but also use on button on TV
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent , would definitely stay again - Excellent couple and lovely bed, couldn't ask for anymore Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Great location for us on a two night stay. Clean, tidy, comfortable. Great shower facility! -
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Warm welcome and very good accommodation - Location good for our visit not far to town and a pub that does good meals 2min walk around the corner host was very welcoming Nothing I can think of had everything we expected
- Comedora (3/5): Not a pleasant stay - TV channel choice, WiFi, natural coffee packs and cookies, tasteful modern decor (except the picture of pyramid) and slippers. Privacy intrusion in the room with security feature, which looked like either a motion sensor or cctv camera. Very stale air in the room and low cleaning standards: stains and thick dust everywhere, mildew between the tiles, rusty shower rack pole and scum near the plug in the shower, dirt at the wall edges in the bathroom, bedding did not look and smell fresh and clean, mattress was very hard and worn out so were pillows and duvet. Although the the temperature outside was 13 C during the day the heating was not turned on so was cold everywhere in the evening and morning. The bathroom was not en-suit and the sink was super small (was not possible to wash face without spilling water on the floor), there was no bathmat and only one hand towel for two of us. The room was very small and there was no surface to put your own stuff on. We were disturbed by loud TV/? and squeaky furniture/ fixtures sounds coming from the host quarters upstairs.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (10/5): Just wonderful. - Hosts were great, comfortable king sized bed (slept like logs) wonderful clean, contemporary shower with rainfall and hand held options, (did not want to get out) brew facilities with proper glasses & cups, range of teas & coffee. Use of microwave, fridge & cutlery crockery, if needed & sink to wash up.
Quiet location with great pub serving food close by (booking recommended). Not a thing.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wee hidden gem - Lovely room clean compy bed the owners had put thought into their guests' stay providing slippers , cold water and tea, coffee and biscuits. Everything was lovely
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (1/5): Sleepless night - Bed and BATH!!! No breakfast!! š¤·š¼āāļøbed?? On our knees to get into a filthy bed
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Gina (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful
- Sue (7/5): Lovely location. Nice country pub - Well presented and clean No on suit
- Günter (8/5): great place to come back again - great and comfortable place The picture on the wall doesn't fit. instead of a motif from egypt it would be more beautiful to have one of the great English landscapes from yorkshare
- Jialing (7/5): Good -
- Walker (9/5): Superb - Comfy bed ,great shower .Nice decor ,use of unexpected bonus .Nice location š No TV signal
- Meinir (10/5): Exceptional - Warm welcome. Easy to find. Comfortable bed, quiet location. Extra facilities than we expected. Thank you.
- Aghileh (10/5): Ultimate comfort - Apart from a very clean room and bathroom, and an amazingly comfortable bed, there was an electric charger that was so comforting as I was going to stay in a farm for the following day and had my car completely charged.
The pub restaurant only across the road was just an amazing add up. We had the best apple crumble ever. Nothing.
- Jane (10/5): Highly recommend this accommodation and hosts - Welcoming, homely, clean and with good facilities
Good location. Great communication and welcoming hosts.
Everything spotlessly clean Nothing
- Everard (10/5): Great place - Great just enjoyed everything Nothing
- Agnes (9/5): We would definitely book again if in the area. - Friendly welcome. Extras offered if required, including booking an afternoon tea in the apartment, booking an early evening meal in the local inn and use of a washing machine in the utility room. Lovely bright room. Everything really clean - room and shower room. Very comfortable bed. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely pub nearby - friendly atmosphere, and the menu looked good. Very little to dislike.
If being picky, the road in, from either direction, was a bit tricky to negotiate (wouldnāt like to drive it in frosty weather). Also, no breakfast + no meal in the village after 6pm. However, we were aware of all of this before booking, so not a problem. Keighley just a short drive away. And a microwave + tea making facilities available if happy with a āpingā meal.
- Debbie (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and was very handy to places we like to visit. - Had a great stay and could come and go as we pleased. Our own parking space and set of keys. There was nothing not to like.
- Brian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Toni (8/5): Very good - Really cosy clean and comfortable. Can't get any signal on Yr mobile.
- Lynne (10/5): Ideal location to explore the countryside - Clean, tidy & had all amenities needed N/A
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Georgia (10/5): This place was perfect for us, we were in keighley for an engagement party. Location was ideal and we had everything we - Everything we needed and the hosts will go out of there way to accommodate if they can Itās looks lovely, was comfortable stay we had all the space we need
- Sharratt (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Marc (10/5): Fabulous mini break, would definitely book again - Great location; Chris and Julie very welcoming and informative. The Turkey Inn across the road is well worth a visit. Excellent food and attentive staff. Nothing
- Gradiva (7/5): Good -
- Dave (9/5): Would happily use Pollys place again. Says it all really. - Squeaky clean and well appointed. Plates, bowls, cutlery and a microwave in a separate room also provided limited cooking facilities for those wanting the freedom of self catering. The lap trays were a nice touch. There was also a small fridge. Good value in pleasant countryside with plenty to do in the surrounding area. It was awkward to find. Without a sat nav we would still be looking. Parking is reserved on the drive of the property but as it is in a large cul de sac with loads of other homes vying for parking for their extra cars every inch of road space seemed to occupied by a vehicle.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Everything Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy bed ,you definitely need a car
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Excellent privacy. If you just want a bed for the night this is perfect
Facilities perfect and very very clean and comfortable.
Superb distance from an exceptionally good pub. About 2 mins walk
. Not great if you don't have your own transport although there is a local bus service. It's a bit off the beaten track but then it's very quiet too
- Ray (8/5): The Location was perfect for our requirements, Very Clean and comfortable, with a pleasent host - The overall clenliness of the room / shower / toilet and Bedding,
and also supplying tea / cofy making facilities N/A
- Denisa (9/5): Superb -
- Jean (10/5): Stayed 4 nights. Very satisfied. - Lovely room. Cosy and clean. Bathroom next door with fabulous shower. Sole use fridge and microwave. We were on ground floor with hosts on upper floors. Just the right amount of being available if needed but otherwise not disturbing us. We were there for a wedding, (bride's parents), and in the morning were shown iron, shoe polish... This showed hosts were thoughtful.
Would stay again. If I was being picky I would say, poor phone signal. Didn't cause a problem though as great WiFi which enabled messaging and WhatsApp calls if necessary.
- Elizabeth (7/5): A convenient stay at a good price. - Convenient location & well priced and near a nice pub with great food. It could have been cleaner. The room could have been better ventilated to smell fresher. A wall mirror in the room would have been useful.
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - The location was excellent set in idilic surroundings with the village pub a stones throw away 'The Turkey Inn' which we would highly recommend. Communication from the owners was 5* superb little stop over.
- Hilary (10/5): Lovely stay, excellent local pub with good food. - Clean, well equipped
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jadwiga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheenan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place nice people The bed slats need securing
- Gill (9/5): Superb -
- Li (10/5): Awesome - We got the ground floor for ourselves, and second floor is private area for the owners. The neighborhood were lovely to walk around, small but I love it. They have dogs, but didn't disturb us at all. Bed are comfy, bathroom are clean. nothing
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Roxy (10/5): Great value for money, cosy place to stay with friendly host - cosy and clean, set up was nice having the ground floor mostly to ourselves felt really private. nothing to complain about
- Judith (9/5): Superb - A convenient location to visit friends. We had the ground floor to ourselves, which was convenient for the parking area. Comfortable bedroom, good shower room, nice touches. Poppyās place is surrounded by other properties but it was very quiet.
- Suzanne (10/5): over night stay which suited our needs for walks & pub a quick get away from teenagers - value for money for over nite stays nothing all good
- Brian (9/5): very good nice people very helpful - I liked the property it was downstairs Finally when i got they is says it was in Oakworth , but is is a a mile further on, my Taxi dropped me at the wrong place in oak worth. I manage to get a lift, it was a snowy night. I thought they could do breakfast
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Very clean. Very helpful host, seemed like nothing was too much trouble. As dog lovers, we also got to meet Poppy. She's a beauty. All in all, Excellent. Nothing.
- Trevor (8/5): Good overall standard. A bit off the beaten track but ideal for walking and peace and quiet. - Very good breakfast and unexpected. Nice comfy bed and good level of cleanliness. Good kitchen and bathroom area. No complaints really. All very good.
- Speight (10/5): Exceptional - My husband was struggling to walk when we arrived Chris was marvellous even got us a take away from local pub .Lovely couple .
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - The bed and pillows were so comfortable and was extremely clean. It was a little bit out of the way if you didn't drive.
- Ann (8/5): Nice venue, v.good vfm. - V.clean & the bed was v.comfy! Private. Nice hostess. Bit of noise from above but didn't wake us. No breakfast but there was a microwave, plates & cutlery if you wanted to use them. We went to the village pub in the evening which is literally across the road, with good food though the service was v.slow that night as it was v.busy & the staff were inexperienced. It was half way between Skipton & Haworth, but you'd need a car & there's not much else there. It was all fine & great value. No phone signal but that was an advantage as my partner couldn't be on his phone all the time!
- Steven (9/5): Superb - Great little place for an overnight stay or two, lovely little pub with great food across the road. Quite location off the beaten track. Nothing to complain about.
- Donna (9/5): Very friendly host, good value for money. - The location fabulous. Nothing to dislike.
- Helen (10/5): Night away with partner! - Lovely location. Nothing
