• Sheree (9/5): - Location is fantastic — exactly where you want to be. The house is consistently spotless on arrival, beautifully presented, and clearly well cared for. Communication with the host is always seamless — responsive, helpful, and easy to deal with. We genuinely love staying here each year and look forward to returning again. Tiny suggestion — it would be great if the second bathroom had the same amenities as the main bathroom. It’s a small detail, but it would elevate the overall experience and make the stay feel even more cohesive.m has.
• Fran (10/5): - Athols place was so homely. Everything was tidy and clean. Who has bacon, eggs, bread, butter and milk waiting for you? This place. I feel like it was very well thought through. The location is perfect, close to food places and grocery shops.

• John (10/5): Just absolutely perfect. - Everything, the place was amazing the host are amazing, and the location was perfect. Such a perfect spot overlooking the river and close to everything. The house was clean, and very cozy. I work in Macksville every 3 months, and I wished I had come across this place sooner. I will be definitely checking this is available every time.

• Anderson (9/5): Cozy river front cottage for relaxing getaway. - Athol’s Place is a cottage that has been newly updated and modernized to suit a couples or family groups. The hosts welcomed us with bacon, eggs, bread and milk in the fridge. The amenities provided to guests were very thoughtful and I believe the hosts have put in a lot of effort to give their guests a wonderful stay. I have no negative feedback on this property.

Thr property was lovely, quiet, clean and the location exceeded our expectations. We were so grateful and surprised to be greeted with bacon, eggs, bread and milk. Superb in every way.

• Sue (5/5): Totally overpriced for what was offered. - The location was good The amenities were poor for the price. Hand wash empty, shower body wash only sufficient for each of us to have one shower. One and a quarter toilet rolls and minimum coffee pods and stale eggs.

Breakfast of bacon, eggs, bread, milk etc provided, a really lovely touch. Beautiful views from the balcony, sat on the jetty every night. Clean, breezy and homey place to stay. Possibly adding a couple of smaller pillows to each bed as they were very high pillows and not everyone likes that.

• Bikramjit (8/5): Good location. Peaceful - The property was clean and we had a good stay. Only point which I was not aware of was the property doesn’t have air con so it took a bit of adjustment. River front was fantastic and we spent a good time outside looking towards river. As mentioned air con was not present and blinds are 2 items which would have made the stay more pleasant.

And the view is amazing, so calm and cool place and lot of things the owner provided for breakfast is very much appreciated. The town was also very nice. Definitely will stay there May be a suggestion that they should have put a fence to get a seperation from the main road.

• Karen (9/5): We were there for a family wedding weekend and were thrilled with the property. A hidden gem! Thank you so very very muc - A truly amazing renovation by the super friendly owners. The historical features were gorgeous. A perfect old and modern combo. The complimentary bacon and eggs, tea, coffee, condiments etc were a very generous touch and the entire property was spotless. We felt the laundry needs a blind on the window to provide privacy when using the outside toilet. The 2 main bedrooms would benefit from a block out curtain behind the beautiful sheers.
