Although not everyone at the reception spoke English, they were extremely helpful and went above and beyond! I would appreciate it if all the reception staff spoke English and if the location were a bit closer to the airport.

• Ed (4/5): - Quiet and able to extend checkout time. Impression that this was an international hotel from Radisson name. But it was vertical Chinese and no restaurant or other facilities. Also not as close to airport as indicated. Impossible to arrange courtesy pickup in advance. Had to phone when arrived and Chinese speaker answered phone. So had to get a helpful person at airport to phone but of course delay in being picked up resulted.

• Ben (10/5): Great stay, Very Clean 🧽 and New Hotel 🏨! - Just a 15 minute ride from the Kunming airport and the hotel provides a nice new van for personal pick up and drop off. (By the way - you meet the hotel shuttle van 🚐 just 100 meters left of Arrivals Gate 1 as you walk out of the Kunming Airport). A great value and an extremely well appointed hotel room with very nice touches and great furnishings. Everything felt very new and clean and definitely one of the nicer 4 star hotels in the airport area. Good working AC and very helpful front desk staff - including Joyce who helped me with my WIFI. Breakfast is high quality but is mostly Chinese style (which I like) with Rice noodles 🍜 and a few hot Chinese dishes. Hotel 🏨 is in a little shopping area (with a bunch of other similar airport hotels) that have some tea shops and local restaurants. Great choice for a layover at the Kunming airport. This is just a small thing and not a huge deal. The Meeting place for the free airport shuttle was a little uncertain. I contacted the hotel a few days before my flight and asked a few times where to meet the shuttle driver and the front desk said they did not currently know and the driver would contact me as I arrived. The shuttle driver did just that and it was no problem to meet him. But for someone coming in from overseas (or who does not have WeChat) this process with an unknown prearranged meeting point could cause some confusion. The shuttle meeting area could be a bit more standardized. But very much appreciate the free ride on both pick up and drop off.

The hotel is located near Kunming Changshui International Airport, which makes it a convenient choice for travelers, especially those with early or late flights. Although it is not within walking distance of the metro station or the airport itself, the hotel provides a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle service, which is both reliable and efficient. I contacted them via WeChat, and the staff responded quickly and professionally. The waiting time for the shuttle was short, which made the transfer process smooth and hassle-free. The customer service was warm and relaxed, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and welcoming, which made it a great place to unwind after a long day. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and soundproofing wall, allowing me to get sufficient and undisturbed rest every night. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the room met my expectations and added to the comfort of my stay. In addition to its proximity to the airport and the convenience of round-the-clock shuttle service, the hotel is also located within a reasonable distance of downtown Kunming. This makes it easy to explore the city, whether by taking the metro from the airport or using ride-hailing services such as DiDi directly from the hotel. Despite the hotel’s no-smoking policy, our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Guests were openly smoking in their rooms with doors wide open, and staff made no effort to address the issue. This created an unhealthy and unpleasant atmosphere, especially for our children. Another point worth mentioning is the limited English spoken by the staff, which made communication very difficult for what is supposed to be an international hotel. While we understand that smoking indoors and language barriers are common challenges in China, we expected higher standards from this establishment. The “free airport shuttle” was another frustration — poorly organised, difficult to locate, with no clear schedule or guidance. Overall, not a family-friendly experience.

• BURYAK (10/5): Высокий класс - Гостиница "Country Inn" позиционируется как аэропортовая, но пешком, без такси или отельного шаттла, до неё не добраться [да и не надо]. Эта гостиница не просто хорошая, а близкая к потрясающей. Крепкие 4 звезды. Тем более в сравнении с отелем для китайских спартанцев, в котором я оказался чуть позже в Нанкине. Чудесная гостиница санаторного типа. Туда можно заселяться уже хотя бы для лечения нервов. Примерно такими и мыслятся правильные гостиницы в страстных бэкпэкерских мечтах. Место там тихое, в удалении от дороги (на ней, впрочем, тоже было нешумно). Район обустроенный, инфрмационно насыщенный, благодатный для прогулок. Хотелось сесть в номере на широком подоконнике (там это предусмотрено!) за написание какой-нибудь эпохальной книжки, но ничего толкового не пришло в голову: мешала лёгкая эйфория от впечатлений. В гостинице многовато технических наворотов в китайском стиле, поэтому обитание в ней было немножко похоже на визит в будущее. Даже робот однажды выскочил на меня из лифта и попёр дальше по коридору. Не могу сказать, что наше возможное будущее понравилось мне во всех деталях (предпочитаю вещи попроще), но возможность заглянуть в него, ничего не доплачивая, -- почему бы и нет? Что было реально плохо: не имелось технической возможности как-то сложить или сдуть эту гостиницу и потом забрать с собой (по этой части у китайцев пока что большая недоработка). И не получился выход в общечеловеческий интернет. Точно помню, что в мае 2024 года я из своего отеля в Сиане, имея белорусскую sim-карту, мог связываться по Viber с родственниками даже голосом. Правда, фотографии уже не пересылались. Может, тут дело не в отеле, а в переменах китайской политики в отношении Viber или интернета в целом.

• Ellyne (9/5): It was great to stay at this hotel. There are few hotels around and I was glad to choose this hotel - The service was excellent beyond my expectations. The front office tried to help and service to their best. I visited Kunming Provincial Museum, , and though they cannot speak English, she monitored me by ordering a taxi , and also to book me from Kunming Provincial Museum, with the help of the security staff of the museum. She monitored the taxi number and communicated with the staff of security. The hotel gave free shuttle service to the airport. The hotel location was great and awe can walk in distance walking to have local restaurants and souvenirs to bring back home. I would recommend the hotel when you need to travel to and from International Kunming airport. I only stay for 1 night and was out the whole day, so is no complain. The shuttle was free and on time. Might be I like bigger room if I should stay for few days. Surely there are many rooms with different budget and I understand .

Sono venuti a prenderci alle 2:00 di mattina e a riportarci in aeroporto intorno alle 6:00. La camera era molto bella e con tutti gli optional che potevano servirci: spazzolino e dentifricio, sapone nella doccia ecc. Ci hanno preparato anche la colazione in una busta da portarci via. Nessuno parla inglese ed è difficile contattarli e capire dove ti vengono a prendere. Noi per fortuna abbiamo avuto l’aiuto di un ragazzo cinese.
