Guest Reviews
- Mariska (8/5): Overall we had a great time and want to thank Maria (the hostess) for a lovely stay! - We were 5 couples that spent a few nights over New Year. The house is spacious and comfortable and we had enough space to not be in each other’s space all the time. The kitchen is large and we could all cook together. There was plenty of equipment to make for easy cooking. The rooms are comfortable and the host (living in a casita on the premises) was lovely and helpful. The house has a bohemian feel and being South African, we appreciated the African touches. We needed a lot of wood for the fireplace during our stay as it was cold, but we were all very cosy in the living-room. We had a lovely time! The property had a few maintenance issues like a loose toilet seat and toilet roll holder as well as the door in the downstairs bathroom sometimes got stuck.
- Steve (8/5): Wow house needing small amount of tlc - The house was amazing, it really had the wow factor with a brilliant eclectic mix of fixtures and fittings, a lot of which were upcycled in very creative ways.
The seating at the front was lovely for breakfast as you could watch the sun rise and then you switch to the back when it has gone around the house.
The pool was lovely, it was lovely and warm and very clean.
Mery, the host, was fantastic and we muddled our ways through conversations with Google translate.
Had a couple of BBQs and that was nicely positioned by the pool so you can grill and still be involved with everything.
The living room was really comfortable and the pool table was used by the kids a lot!
The information book was very useful and informative. Just need to add something into it about what to do with the rubbish and where it needs to be taken.
Every bedroom had a fan, some of which were so strong they could probably drive a hover craft which was appreciated in the heat!
Next time we visit we will stay again! The kitchen needs a few basic things adding to make it really comfortable.
There is no toaster and the electric grills take forever to make toast as half of it doesn't get hot. This is in both the main oven and the countertop mini oven.
There is no electric kettle, you need to use the one on the gas hob.
The one chopping board is 20cm by 10cm, you can barely fit a sandwich on it so this made food prep tricky.
The upstairs shower is lovely but the head is mounted at about noseit tricky to wash your hair. The downstairs one is much better.
There were a lot of lightbulbs that needed replacing in some of the lights, not a big problem as it was so sunny but it was a bit dark in the upstairs landing at night.
Overall it is probably due to it being the end of the season but it felt as if the place just needed a week of maintenance in order to get it all fixed back up. Door handles were loose etc.
