- sophie (10/5): Excellent séjour ! - Bel appartement lumineux, bien équipé et très propre.
L'appartement est proche du métro/bus, du parc et de Portobello Road.
Le propriétaire est disponible si besoin et la procédure de check-in est très simple.
- Elise (5/5): Not suitable for 3 people due to faulty blow-up bed provided - Location was great, flat was clean but a lot smaller than the advert shows. On arrival, we tried to access the lockbox as instructed, however the code provided was incorrect. Luckily, one of the hosts turned up and after a bit of confusion, was able to give us the keys. It turned out he was there to set up our 3rd bed - according to the advertisement, a futon is provided. The spare bed is NOT a futon, but a blow up bed. The bed had a hole in it patched up previously and deflated throughout the night. The hosts have ignored my requests for a refund. This apartment is great for 2 people, but overpriced for 3. If sleeping in the living room as the 3rd person, it's very noisy from traffic outside.

- Ryan (7/5): While I would not choose to stay here again I think if your a traveler that’s backpacking this would be a good spot - They did a great job decorating the place. Really creative with the use of space. Location was perfect besides the strange hotel across the street The shower was broken and leaked so we had to use what little towels they provided to continuously clean the floor. The actual rental space was very cute but the rest of the building was not. As soon as you walk in the front door the entryway and entire stair case is not clean or well maintained
- Joce (9/5): Cosy and well kept. - A really cosy apartment at a great location. Everything was clean and the apt had a nice feel to it.
Easy communication with the owners.
- Wendy (9/5): Our stay was fantastic. The flat was lovely and the location was perfect. - The property is in a great location. The underground station is just up the road as are lots of shops for everything you need. The flat contains all the facilities to make for a comfortable stay. The flat is on the 4th floor meaning you have to walk up more than 60 steps. I know this is common but I think this should be made clear from the start as many people may not be able to manage getting their luggage upstairs.
- Omar (10/5): Smooth no issues - Everything. The owner was helpful any time you ask you get the answer. All good
- Maylis (8/5): Perfect - Very good All went really well
& fantastic location - heart of notting hill and portobello market
1mn from central line station
- Erica (9/5): Excellent unit with all you need! - Location is amazon if you like the area. The apartment is comfortable,, very clean, all the utensils and suplies. The extra bed for the kid was not ideal, I would have prefred a sofa-bed, but for 2 nights not a big deal.
- Peiju (8/5): Very good -
- Shirin (5/5): Good location but needs better management - Great location and nice modern apartment but we had some issues.
Communication is quite poor. This plus some maintenance and comfort issues are the reason for the low score. Could be easily remedied with better management of the property. I’m annoyed by the hosts untrue response - we checked the fridge, they should have sent someone as they said they would but did not. There was no effort on their part to meet us or send help for luggage. They did not send anyone or inform us they would be and actually texted us sorry they didn’t as ‘Fridays are busy’ for them so their response appears to be totally untrue.
I also wouldn’t call old itchy bobbly sheets a preference.
Suggest host use feedback constructively and address the issues raised.
Fridge was not working, informed host who said someone would come to fix it but no one did.
When I booked in Oct 2023 for our Sep 2024 stay I requested assistance with luggage on arrival as the apartment is on top floor. I was assured this would be arranged closer to the time. 2 days before arriving I reiterated my request but the communication seriously dropped off. I messaged on booking.com and texted the numbers provided several times over 2 days yet still no help with luggage despite finally later communication informing me there would be. They said Friday is a busy day which is why they didn’t send anyone but they knew we’re coming and had made the request several times which had been approved. I also had to chase the lockbox code to collect keys which we finally received the morning of arrival.
Bed was really soft and the sheets itchy.
Showergel dispenser was empty.
Toilet seat was loose and kept slipping.
There were notes left by a neighbour for guests asking us not to make noise etc, I sent pics of this to the host which was pretty much the only time the host was responsive. Really needs to be better managed.
- Ibrahim (7/5): We were not informed about cleanup in the property in advance and had to go back and forth with all our luggages for 2 h - Location On the 4th floor without lift. Also there was no info about it
- Jodi (4/5): DOES NOT SLEEP 3 PEOPLE - The location was awesome and was convenient to the subway. It was very close to downtown Notting Hill's shops and restaurants. The kitchen in the unit was nice and spacious, it was great having a washer for your clothes. The place was advertised to have a futon bed- this was false- it was just a couch. The room was advertised to sleep 3 it did not. We contacted the host and she tells us " I did not notice that you booked for 3 there is a blow up mattress in the closet.". The blow up mattress had a leak and my adult daughter slept horribly. The hallway light right outside the door was bad and flickered. The carpets in the hallway were dirty and the neighbors had a sign on the wall saying "booking.com guests please do not make noise " etc
- Francisco (9/5): Superb - Location is quite calm but with very good access through tube. Good convenience stores around, very close to Portobello Market. It’s a 4th floor so if you have heavy luggage it can be tough. Also, apparently the isolation between floors is not the best so you can’t make “regular” noise without disturbing neighbors. The extra mattress was an “air mattress” so no one could really sleep in there… Apart from that all was really good!
- Giedre (10/5): I will strongly recommend this place to my friends ! - Wonderful clean very well equiped modern flat in a magical part of London. Everything was perfect here.
- Uzma (8/5): Very good - Location was great, couple of mins walk to the underground, and many good restaurants walking distance. Wasn't quite sound proof, with signage across the building about keeping noise down. That wasn't a problem for me as I was alone but could be for a small family.
- Barbara (9/5): Overall great stay. Owner was reachable and helpful. - Convenient location, clean. There was only one bed to sleep two people. Third person had to sleep on air mattress which was not comfortable for a person in her sixties. A sofa bed would be much more suitable.
- Hilal (1/5): Don’t waste your money on such place. It ruined our trip. - Close to a tube station This is the worst apartment I’ve ever rented.
The floors and ceilings are extremely thin, so they ask you not to wear any shoes inside the apartment.
The apartment floor makes noises each time you step, no matter how gently you walk.
You can hear every door slam and every step on the stairs which can wake you up in the middle of the night.
The bedroom curtains are thin, so the bedroom will be already bright around 3:30am.
The bathroom light is very dim, the body soap was empty, and the bathroom door can’t be locked.
The bed is not comfortable at all, we woke up with back pain every morning.
We tried to use the washing machine, which broke in the middle and our clothes were stuck inside for hours,
soaked in water with washing gel.
after we managed to open it, we had to wash the clothes piece by piece with clean water and squeeze them out by hand, which took a lot of time. and the clothes weren’t clean after all.
And by going over the other reviews, I can see that other people have also complained about the washing machine, so looks like it is always broken and no one is fixing it.
And the worst thing was the communications. Danielle stopped responding to my messages/questions after I paid, which is very rude.
Vitor tried to help with 1 day delay on every request/question. and he helped us with the luggages (the apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator).
- Becky (8/5): Nice stay in Notting Hill. - The key was easily accessed in a lockbox just outside the building. We were able to check in an hour earlier than the 3pm check in time. Many amenities for cooking (spices, pots, pans) and we were provided with sufficient towels, shampoo and conditioner. The hosts left us water bottles which were handy and appreciated. Beds were comfortable. Hosts were apologetic to issues that we had (see what we didn't like), but were unable to do anything about them in a timely manner. I considered rating the stay lower, but they seemed truly sorry for inconveniences--so I do think it is a good place to stay (especially if things are dealt with). It took awhile for the host to respond with the key code to get into the lock box. I had tried to be in touch starting the day before because we needed to pay before given the code--and then on the day of arrival we still hadn't heard back. I had to try several ways of contacting them to determine how we were to check in. We had booked a more expensive place because of the washing machine so we could wash clothes before continuing on to other less expensive options. However, the machine did not drain and was clearly in need of repair and maintenance. It took awhile for host to respond--but when they did, they did offer to send someone offer to look at it. We decided we didn't want to spend our limited time in London dealing with washing machine--but they did say they would have it fixed before the next guests. The bathroom was a bit disappointing--very dark (one light bulb was out; but I think it was more than that) and the shower is a bit further off the floor than typical, so it was quite a step down to get out of a slippery shower. The body soap dispenser was either not working or out. As others note, there are a lot of stairs, but we understood that and were ready to carry luggage up and down the 4-5 floors. However, we weren't expecting it to be so dingy--kind of a depressing introduction to Notting Hill's apartments that look so lovely on the outside. Also, several signs in the building and room asking for quiet as others can hear all that goes on--we are a very quite couple, but it made us not feel like we could be comfortable walking around. Perhaps flooring that absorbs some noise would be helpful (?).
- Galyna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loulouditsa (1/5): Worst experience ever😔 - That is close to metro station. Our stay was awful.
We checked in at 10:00 p.m. the key was in the safe box at the entrance of the building. The owner gave us the wrong code and at the last minute informed us through email that it had been changed.
There was no heat, no hot water for bath and no blankets in such cold weather. The washing machine stopped working during washing and never spin the clothes.
Also we could clearly hear the conversations late at night from the neighboring apartments.
The owner of the apartment never replied to our messages.
- Jaime (9/5): Superb - I don't think the location could be better! Exploring London was easy with public transportation just steps away. We also loved being to walk to the Princess Diana Memorial Playground with our little one. Lovely flat that suited our needs very well. Larger guests may have trouble with the shower as the opening to the door is somewhat small, could use additional instructions for things like the washing machine, beds not bad but not the most comfortable, slight delay in getting lockbox code but this was remedied quickly.
- Rainer (10/5): Nice cosy appartment in Notting Hill - Very nice flat in a very nice area close to the tube That the check out was at 10
- Deborah (10/5): We loved staying at this apartment. - Perfect location
Very clean
Had everything we needed
Host was very attentive
- Penelope (9/5): Superb - The whole apartment was lovely and will definitely stay again. The lock on the front door was a bit stiff.
- Tom (2/5): very cheaply refurbished appartment. Very poor value for money. Shabby building - noisy flat behind, rubbish outside the door, cheap uncomfortable pillows, bed and sofa.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - This flat is a beautiful, spacious, comfortable space for my family's stay in London. It is conveniently located next to the Nottinghill Gate station and the Portobello Market. The beds (including the extra bed that we asked for) are comfy. The kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils and condiments you would need. The neighbourhood was quiet and we had no issue at night with noise. Contrary to some reviews, check-in and front-door access were exceedingly easy and smooth. We had been prepared to take the flight of steps to get into the flat, so that was not an issue. Most importantly, the host Danielle was so welcoming and helpful. She drove 2 hours to get here on our check-out date to help us with our suitcases, and eventually drove us all the way to the train station to catch a train!
- Jody (9/5): Great apartment ,clean and tidy with great access to the sights of London - Apartment was easy to find very close from tube station , access was via getting keys from key safe excellent information given on how to get these , apartment was on 4th floor no lift but we did know this before so not a problem . Once inside we found it very clean and spacious , very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay . The local area had lots to choose from with many food shops , restaurants and bars plus easy access to the underground. Nothing bad to dislike
- Fatma (10/5): Overall, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we look forward to returning. - The location was superb, just a 4-minute stroll to the train station, offering proximity to all essentials. The exceptional wifi and the added perk of Netflix on the TV contributed to a delightful stay. The thoughtful welcome kit and a well-equipped kitchen met all our needs. Despite a hiccup with the heater, the host's swift response in sending assistance showcased outstanding service. The challenge during our stay was primarily the absence of an elevator across five floors, which posed difficulty, especially with multiple pieces of luggage. Additionally, we hope for a prompt resolution to the main door access issue, as the current method of using keys in a specific manner has not been consistently convenient.
- Diana (5/5): Passable - Location Way too many stairs to the flat .
The front door key was difficult to use as we stayed locked out for 20 minutes trying to get door open late at night .
The bed was too low , uncomfortable and small .
The blow up mattress in lounge room was so bad our son stayed elsewhere .
- Marc (10/5): Fantastic flat in the heart of Notting Hill - Excellent flat. Great communication and we were allowed a late check out for free!
- Delphine (9/5): An amazing stay in London - The location of the flat was great : a quiet place, close to Notting Hill gate station, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. A charming flat with all the necessary equipments. Very attentive and kind hosts.
- Shelley (8/5): Very good:would definitely book again. - Kitchen well equipped including complementary water, tea and coffee. Everything was spotless. The knob on the bathroom door was not original and was difficult to turn (quite large). It was noisy when I tried to close the door without waking those in the bedroom. Better to have a door handle perhaps.
- Olivia (8/5): Perfect location for our family. Beautiful accommodations. One of the few vacation rentals I would acylive in! - Beautiful and comfortable. Quiet and safe. Easy access to the tube. It was very hot while we were there. While there was a portable AC unit for the bedroom, there wasn’t a fan for the living room. Our daughter was very hot. A lot of stairs and no elevator. But it was so worth it!
- Sandy (7/5): Good - The flat had everything we needed - a washer/dryer, coffee maker with plenty of pods, and was comfortable. The Nottingham Hill Gate tube stop was 2 minutes away. The street was quiet and we felt safe in the area. Be aware that even though it’s not in the description, there are 66 stairs and 5 landings to get to the flat. If you have heavy luggage or are a senior, it’s a killer. If we had gotten a response about what floor it was on before it was too late to cancel, we would have cancelled.
- Jasna (10/5): Cute apartment in a cute neighborhood with a very comfy bed. - It’s very stylish and the bed is so comfortable—so important when your flight is delayed by a day. They had coffee ready for the morning and welcome snacks—sweet, personal touch.
- Andy (9/5): Superb - We recently had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic apartment.
From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and overall appeal of the place.
The location is unbeatable. The close proximity to the tube, shops and esp. Portobello Road make booking this apartment a no-brainer
The apartment itself is fairly spacious and well-appointed. It's clear that the owners take pride in maintaining the property. Everything was spotless, and the furnishings were modern and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials, making it easy for us to prepare meals when we didn't feel like dining out.
We'll be back
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthews (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect location and great little flat in the heart of Notting hill - Easy access, great communication with host, perfect location
- Rohana (7/5): Generally was ok but not a great stay experience. - Great location. The property was clean and the kitchen is perfect for a group stay No fan or air-cond in the property. We will be appreciate if the host provided couple of fans during summer as you can imagine it’s very hot weather. Although we open the window but it doesn’t help and not comfortable .
- Nancy (6/5): We felt deceived that we were not told about the eight flights of stairs. - Eight flights of stairs were horribly uncomfortable with luggage and access every day after walking all day sight seeing.
- Anonymous (8/5): Overall was fantastic - location and cleanliness Bed was uncomfortable
Curtains weren’t very effective
It was up 12 flights of stairs
- Albin (10/5): Highly recommended :)))) - A clean and cosy apartment with all facilities you need. Very close to central line metro station (1 min walk). All shops and restaurants at your fingertips. Top floor apt with many stairs. Not a problem for us but may not be ideal for all.
- Ken (9/5): Great location, very clean - Great location, very clean, washer and dryer, everything was very new, great kitchen with lots of utensils, coffee provided,SHARP knives. We would definitely stay here again. There was a bit of a disconnect between what Booking.com sent us and the actual apartment (wrong WiFi info, apartment was on 5th floor vs 1st floor). There was a big problem with the entry key getting in the building where the apartment was located. It would take at least several minutes to get the key to engage. Finally, after 3 days, one tenant told us the trick to manipulate the lock. The appliances were excellent but we were pretty unfamiliar with English appliances (glass induction stove top). The “extra” bed turned out to be an air mattress that leaked and had to be replaced. To the landlord’s credit, she was very responsive to all these issues. Better written instructions would have helped.
- Deborrah (10/5): This is an AMAZING clean, apartment. Very nice equipped kitchen. The location is perfect! you cannot ask for more in a - Location
size
cleanliness said ground floor….it’s on the top floor. Being NYers who lives on a 5th floor walk, it was no big deal.
- Mikołaj (10/5): It was a great pleasure to stay in Charming Flat Notting Hill 🥰 - The location was perfect. Tube stadion is just around the corner, very close to Notting Hill atractions. After long day of sight seeing it was so nice to come back to our apartment. It was very clean. For us just perfect 🌸
- Alexandre (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, close to evrything, and calm Everything was perfect
