Guest Reviews
- Joanna (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. -
- Lucas (10/5): Christos was awesome and very accommodating and has truly curated a place of healing and bliss! - We loved the calming aura, location, chickens, proximity to desirable destinations nothing!
- Jake (10/5): - Christos was an amazing host, and the house, land and animals were everything we were after for a beautiful getaway and some relaxation. Christos showed us around the garden, and let our two year old son help with the animal feeding. Everything was fantastic! Nothing.
- Kate (10/5): Rustic and restorative stay for a family with a little one - Cute rustic cottage that was the perfect size for our family of three (two adults, one bub). Backed onto a gorgeous river, perfect for a morning dip. Big BBQ and lots of outdoor areas to hang out in. LOVED the book nook bay window, and it's only a short drive away from wineries, small towns with cute cafes and Hanhndorf village. Also Christos was a lovely host, gave us the grand tour at the start and then we were left to enjoy the surroundings! It's a great place to unwind in a secluded area, but if you're wanting to visit the city alot, you'll require a car to get in (roughly an easy 25/30min drive).
- Peter (10/5): Christos's cottage is located in a quiet country location in the Adelaide Hills, just idylic! - N/A
- Gabrielle (9/5): Amazing definitely will come back. Felt like we could happily live there - The amazing views, settings and Christos is a wonderful host. The cottage is so tranquil and comfortable and beautiful. Definitely would stay again soon. Amazing setting, wildlife and fresh produce available. Family friendly and catered for. Would be good to have things like food storage items - food wraps, containers, instant coffee and proper sugar as the sugar supplied made coffee taste strange I think it was stevia which is fine. Also would be good to remove food items left by other people. Also individual portions of jams, honey etc would be amazing
- Julie (10/5): -
- Anick (10/5): Amazing little cottage, beautiful fire place and light - We love the location o, so beautiful and peaceful! The ducks eggs were a very nice bonus!
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Brenns (9/5): Great escape from reality - Direct access to nature. The walk down along the river is fantastic. Love the ducks
- Donna (8/5): Really enjoyed the experience - Love the eggs left for us
Beautiful garden and location to the river
Very quaint comfortable cottage
- Lynelle (6/5): Rural and peaceful BUT luxury it is NOT. - The rural location is peaceful, and the walk down to the river is lovely. For the fireplace (which was one of the main reasons I picked this place), the host leaves a generous stack of wood cut to size beside the front door. The biggest 'put-off' for us was the compost toilet in the bathroom, which is detached from the main building. We didn't like having to go out into the cold to go to the bathroom, although it was just as well that it was detached because the compost toilet does smell despite assurances that it wouldn't! It was like having to shower and bathe down on the farm with the animals!
The pictures of the furniture, paint, etc., are either from an earlier decade or have been touched up. The place is not as fresh and presentable as it appears in the photos. Overall, we were disappointed because we had paid nearly $400 per night to stay in what we expected would be luxury accommodation.
It is a perfectly OK place if you're expecting a rural farm stay level of accommodation. It is NOT if you are led to believe that it's luxury.
By minor comparison, but still worth mentioning, it is a bit of a pain to have to open the gate every time you want to get in and out of the property area—it really reminds you how rural it is!

- Louise (9/5): This was a special find. So peaceful and the gardens and setting, so tranquil. - The owner met us and provided information we needed as well as the history of the property. Was close by if you needed anything. Very happy.
- Ariane (10/5): Beautiful family getaway - We had an amazing time at Delphi exploring and enjoying what the property has to offer. Christos was a great host, showed us around, set up a fire pit area for us in the garden and even created a little sandpit for our two year old! Our son still speak about the ducks, chickens and the sandpit. A beautiful family weekend getaway. Thanks Christos!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Close to Hahndorf and cellar doors. Amazing garden surrounding the cottage, decking of kitchen to open area with bbq and good views
- Glenda (7/5): We enjoyed it but the bath/shower leaked terribly- had to use excessive towels to stop slipping on the floor - Beautiful location We expected breakfast as it was a bed and breakfast- we got 8 eggs for four nights and 4 people!!!!
- Donna (9/5): Delightful stone cottage that fosters sustainable living, in a beautiful, peaceful bush setting. - Lovely, eco-friendly cottage, comfortable & cosy. The ground coffee, eggs & fruit provided were a special touch. Host was very helpful & available if needed. The property offers a picturesque bush vista, & the river is a great place to walk or swim. Possibly, ceiling fans in bedrooms...also the bathroom floor was wet after each shower, but there were plenty of bathmats...so these are very minor issues that didn't detract from our stay.
- Tiki (10/5): A perfect tranquil homely stay - An amazing & beautiful little cottage. Definitely feels like someone's loved home. Lots of lovely touches. The bay widow seat was a hit. It was well-stocked & had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The secret swimming hole was an extra bonus! It was all pretty perfect. My only comment is a suggestion not a negative - would be maybe some overhead fans in the bed & living areas.
- Caroline (10/5): Relaxing and rejuvinating - Quiet and cosy location. Beautiful surroundings.
- Murray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (10/5): Cozy and comfortable - It is a very cute cottage and feels homely. Has everything there for a comfortable stay and host is very accommodating! We enjoyed having a fire and the quietness around us.
The Airbnb is in a great location, close to other small towns and the landscaping is amazing! Nothing
- Kerryth (9/5): Generational family visit - Great base for visiting Adelaide Hills, fantastic location and amazing garden with a stretch of river nearby. Great welcome from Christos 👍 no complaints.
- Tonkin (10/5): Exceptional - Christos met us to take us on a tour of his wonderful garden and to share the history of the place. We loved it. Nothing.
- Indiana (9/5): Perfect - Beautiful scenery, so quiet and peaceful. Perfect for those who want to escape from reality. The toilet wasn’t our favourite but we also loved the thought of being 100% sustainable. Overall the toilet wasn’t too bad
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sunil (8/5): A staycation review - Good experience. Enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and suggnling up to the warmth of the wood fire.
Also the nature walk and garden around the property was pretty good. Only thing I can say is the he'd probably. That's just I guess I love my bed.
- Kaila (7/5): Good -
- Zian (10/5): Exceptional - This place was amazing! Perfect little get away, comfortable and so pretty.
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fedor (10/5): It was amazing - The warm welcome, a place to relax, the comfort. The welcome gift, that everything was there.
- Dana (10/5): A breath of fresh air - Loved it all! Loved the garden and lake and the fireplace… basically it all There was nothing I didn’t like :)
- Justine (8/5): The cottage was so cute and set in a lovely location surrounded by lush gardens and fresh produce. - The beautiful gardens that Christos has spent 30 years cultivating. A true sanctuary nestled in the Adelaide Hills. Our kids loved exploring the gardens, feeding the chickens and fish and Christos was an amazing host who provided us with a personalised tour of his beautiful property which has an interesting history. He provided us with fresh farm eggs, bacon, cheese and bubbles on our arrival!! Thank you so much Christos for making our stay so enjoyable and being an excellent host. The Adelaide heat wave, which of course has nothing to do with the property!
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barb (10/5): Perfect thankyou - Back to nature. Quiet n peaceful just perfect The fact I ended up in hospital and I could enjoy the second night sorry Christos.
- Weiming (9/5): We stayed 2 days in this cozy cottage, and enjoyed every min. - a basket of eggs, bacons and bottle of wine on arrival, nice view, quiet location, environmental sustainability, lovely outdoor playground, and great hosting.
- Lorraine (7/5): Tranquil and Peaceful 🦋 - So tranquil and relaxing 😌 Sorry to say... the toilet.
Just could not cope with the smell.
Maybe it needs to move out of the bathroom to become an out house on its own.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Beautiful, peaceful place. A lovely cottage very well equipped.
- Brianna (10/5): Amazing - The host, Christos, was the most accommodating and friendly person. The property is really his special place and you can tell as soon as you see it.
The gardens and land surrounding the cottage are exceptional and the cottage itself is beautiful, especially the large deck that overlooks the gardens.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The view is great and the property is good for relaxing. We didn't like the composting toilet.
- Trent (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donny (7/5): Good -
- Olga (10/5): Serene and peaceful - Wonderful cottage hidden away in a lush garden. Upon arrival (checked in late at night), the lights were on to make it easier for us to get in & a delicious bottle of sparkling wine was waiting for us along with a lovely basket of eggs, bacon, cheese to cook breakfast with the next morning. :) Compost toilet was fine for us, but may not work for everyone.
- Carthew (10/5): Wonderful and will be returning - Bacon and eggs provided for self cooking, gorgeous cottage with so much character, beautiful garden with plenty of room for children to explore, lake at back of property, few locals swimming there so will pack our swimmers next time. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay 😀 Shower is over free standing bath so bathroom floor got drenched, no big deal just used towels to soak up
- Paul (8/5): A great place to relax in nature. Lovely host. - Location awesome. View across valley with trees and birds galore.
- Courtney (10/5): Perfect stay - This place is so serene and beautiful! Christos made us feel very welcome, and had the fire roaring when we arrived. Haven’t felt so regulated and relaxed in a very long time. We had a weekend planned of activities but didn’t want to leave our cute cosy cottage. Just divine! 🥰
- Henry (10/5): Perfect for a nice relaxing weekend getaway - The location was beautiful, and the house was very pretty and cosy
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely adored our time here at Delphi! The location, the ambience and our wonderful host Christos made our getaway very special! Thanks Christos!
- Carole (7/5): Beautiful but smelly - The property and location is beautiful The smell coming from the toilet was unbearable
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mikaela (10/5): Exceptional - Such a cute cottage, garden is very well cared for and maintained. Especially loved the sun bed and fireplace, the perfect place to stay for winter, also a great location for nearby wineries. Thank you christos!
