Guest Reviews
- Frank (9/5): Sereen en strak verblijf voor pelgrims. - Pelgrimhostal was mooi gerenoveerd. Erg strak.
- Susan (10/5): Great place to stay on the Camino. - Newly renovated, clean, beautiful view, delicious breakfast.
- ANGEL (8/5): -
- GRACIELA (10/5): - Atención personalizada , habitaciones , comodidad
- Jos (8/5): Zie boven - Uitzicht was prachtig.
- antonio (8/5): - Habitación totalmente reformada, comida y amplia
- Zelda (10/5): A wonderful surprise to find after a long day on the Camino. - Had a wonderful stay at A Casa da Toura which is just a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The hotel is in a recently renovated historic building -- very clean, comfortable, and charming. Bonus: two Gold Retrievers greeted us when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing -- a full buffet with wonderful hot coffee and milk. There were also two sun porches -- a great place for a short nap after a long day on the Camino. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Agustín (9/5): -
- Judith (7/5): Ok for the price - Clean, located out of the town There wasnt anywhere to hang towels or any hooks, no bed side table or chair.
No extractor fab in bathroom.
- Stephen (10/5): Great location just a bit out of the city center, and the breakfast was great - Just a 15 minute walk to the Pilgrims mass and and meals
- Luana (7/5): - La camera e la vista panoramica Camera molto fredda
- Guest (7/5): -
- larry (10/5): The check in process was very easy. The owner was most helpful . We really enjoyed our stay as we were completing the Ca - It is very historical and well presented property Nothing
- Christina (10/5): -
- Isabel (7/5): -

- morfin (10/5): -
- Annie (8/5): Tranquil break - Nice location, little bit outside of the main town centre but only a 5 minute walk really.
Owners are very lovely and have a friendly dog
Clean, tidy and quiet room.
Had great views from the terrace
Shower worked great, but was tiny! Had to leave key when you go out, not a bad system but do feel bad when returning late and it discouraged us from nipping back to the hotel as and when and instead opted to spend all day out.
Only 1 modern plug in the room, there were others but these were an old style so couldn´t actually use them.
- Giuseppe (6/5): - Posizione Camere molto spartane e docce veramente piccole.
- Paul (7/5): -
- Janet (10/5): We had a very welcoming & comfortable stay- - Historic building with interesting history. The owners were very helpful even washed & dried our clothes (8 euros) & provided very nice breakfast buffet for 7 euros- Lucas, the small dog was absolutely adorable-!! Muchas Gracias Belen
- Peter (8/5): Grand place with a warm welcome - The hosts here are so welcoming. Their dog is cute, too. Good breakfast, nice terrace. It's a grand building, very clean. It's a little out of the town centre, an uphill walk of maybe half a mile. But this means it's quiet and you're already part of the way up the hill for the next day if you're walking the Camino!
- Sandra (10/5): Besonderes altes Hostel - Besonderes Hostel & sehr freundliche Besitzer.
- Mari (7/5): Beautiful - Beautiful property. Kind staff! The walk from town was a bit too far.
- Santa (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Welcoming, comfortable stay for walking the Camino Ingles - Large comfortable simple room very clean and well maintained. Lovely owners. One of my favourite places to stay while walking the Camino Ingles.
- Eneida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lalahy (10/5): Exceptional - The excetion view, the bduilign is very nice and even has its own chaptel. Teh Staff and owner are very fiurnedly. Thanks you Carmen, her husband did the camino 53 times, so they have so many stories to tell.
We highly recommend, and they were helpful and nice.
- Arley (8/5): Quiet location and very friendly hosts. -
- Coral (7/5): Good - It was very clean
The bed was comfortable
It was very quiet and tranquil A 3.30pm check-in is very late - especially if you have been walking the Camino and want to rest when you arrive in Pontedeume
The shower was very small
Having to wait until someone answered the bell and opened the gate at the bottom of the hill did not feel very welcoming
The hostel is a bit of a walk outside of the main town
- Dora (8/5): Very good -
- Zuzana (9/5): Nice hostel for pilgrims - Nice private hostel. Lovely host. Camino Ingles passes through Pontedeume, while the accommodation is not directly in the town, you can connect to the Camino a bit further, plus you already have part of the hill done 😊
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good - The hosts were really nice and the property was very clean and peaceful It’s a bit of a walk out of the town
- Doyle (10/5): I would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend. - Beautiful historic building now owned by the Roman Catholic Church and operated as a hostal and retreat center. Beautiful architecture and history. The rooms are less plush than newer hotels, but the host were sweet, caring people who made sure we had something to eat after a very long day on the Camino. They were very kind to us as was their little dog Lucas.
- Anya (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable, welcoming staff, plenty of choice for continental breakfast would recommend, ideal for camino ingles All was good
- Lisa (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. Comfy and clean rooms and the view was beautiful! - My son and I enjoyed our stay here. The couple that run it were very pleasant and accommodating. We had an excellent stay here. She made a homemade delicious meal for the two of us the evening we were there. Her husband served us. We paid 18 Euros each for the meal and drinks. It was truly worth it! Thank you to both of you.
- Janice (8/5): A good place to stay on the Camino. Lovely owners! - The owners were a delight--really fun! Loved chatting with them. Nice green setting off the road and enjoyed sitting on the bench out front to relax with a book and emails. Not being able to drop my backpack there earlier. I got to their place around 1:00p, asked through the intercom if I could just drop my backpack, but they were strict about not even opening their gate until 3:00p, and suggested I just walk back into town, have lunch. I explored the town with my pack on.
Not a huge thing - the room was sparse - would have liked to have some hooks or hangars.
- Manuel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Helen (9/5): Superb - The location was great and the owner/couple accomodated us for early check in as we arrived early. Since we arrived there on Easter Sunday they helped us for church information to attend the
Easter Mass. And this hostel has a beautiful chapel where you can pray and be with God.
- Ka (9/5): Pilgrims welcome, great views. - Clean and comfortable rooms. Splendid views. Warm welcome for pilgrims.
- Stuart (1/5): Bad - As this is fully automated, you will not know that the hotel transferred me to Rio Eume due to a 'breakdown'. Rio Eume was lovely, at €18, yet I paid €40 to stay at Hostal San Cristobal. I have written to them, twice, and you to ask for a refund of €22 - ie the difference in cost - but have heard nothing thus far Please see the above
- Sumaita (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel was fancy! It doesn't quite look like a hostel, rather more like a hotel in a mansion on top of a hill. The interior is beautiful as well as the vista of the city from the garden. However, it is a 15-20 minute walk uphill, along a highway with heavy vehicles which could seem a long one if you are coming here while walking the camino. It is also necessary to consider that one has to walk back to the city for dinner and grocery as well. The next morning, it is the same walk before starting the camino again because the hostel is out of the camino ingles route. That was the only minus point for me in this hostel. Otherwise, the service inside the hostel was amazing!
- Carvajal (9/5): Superb - It was extremely peaceful, on a hill with a garden with views to sit and relax.
- Natalie (5/5): Passable - The property is very clean and well maintained Unfortunately, the value for money is not good. I came here as pilgrim (i.e., restricted weight) and the room did not have any shower soap. Also the room was very small for the price paid, with no WiFi and A/C.
- Edward (8/5): Friendly and quiet. - This is a friendly family run hotel that is quiet and contemplative. Everyone was very friendly and helpful with any issues.
Rooms very clean. Perhaps a better dryer?
- Paul (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and friendly! What more to ask for after a day in the Camino Ingles! - A home away from home. Made to feel very welcome - nothing was a problem! There was nothing not to like.
- Robert (8/5): OK, but unmemorable - The edge of town location is a virtue. Its peaceful. The staff were welcoming & helpful. Water for showering was both hot and delivered at high pressure (good for me!) Breakfast arrived later than advertised. The coffee quality (unusually for Galicia in my experience) was deeply disappointing and the fare, minimal. Wifi coverage is patchy & did not include my room at all
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay again.
- Alicia (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, short walk to town and parking. Lovely man who seems to be running the hotel all by himself. I think it would suit pilgrims doing the Camino rather than the ordinary traveller. No real sign of the bar/restaurant advertised and breakfast a bit poor. Quite expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in.
- Angela (8/5): Comfortable hostel, with friendly staff, in a good location with a beautiful view. - Lovely, friendly staff. Good location for walking into town or to the beach. Basic room with comfortable beds, and very clean. Enjoyed sitting outside, in the late evenings, watching the sunset & having a drink while taking in the beautiful view. Didn't eat breakfast there, as were going out in the mornings, but it was impressive that they offered a vegetarian option. As the hostel is primarily aimed at Camino walkers, there is a midnight curfew, which meant that the hostel was nice & quiet at night.
All in all, a lovely place to stay. There didn't seem to be WiFi in the room, which would have been useful. Also, some bedside lamps would be good, in addition to the main ceiling light.
The midnight deadline for being back in the hostel could be difficult if you wanted to go to a concert or festival in the evening, as things start & finish late in Spain.. However, as it is a hostel aimed primarily at walkers, who will usually be making early starts, the curfew is understandable. .
- Dr. (7/5): Great view..... and that´s about it.... - Staff of one was eager to please. Wifi in the lobby and part of the 1st floor. We were on the third.
Cold shower on the first day.
Staff of one.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional - This was one of my favorite places to stay on the Camino. It's extremely spotless, everything is so well managed and maintained. The people working there (at this time of the year just a lady and her son, are lovely, very welcoming and do everything to make sure all is good for you. The actual place (a convent in the past), is beautiful, with an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity. It's just very slightly away from the town, but a very doable walk. They offer breakfast and dinner, both OK but I preferred the breakfast Nothing to complain about
- Mariana (8/5): Very good -
- Virginia (8/5): A lovely stay in a beautiful, very clean building - We had the warmest welcome from our hosts who couldn’t have been more hospitable. The dinner was amazing and plenty of it. The views are stunning from this lovely old ex- convent. The showers were hot and powerful. Our host spoke English which was helpful.
- Deirdre (10/5): Super attention and care of the receptionist who went out of his way to assure we had an excellent experience. He even b - Location and picturesque views over the estuary.
- Shelia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (1/5): Bad -
- Jaqi (6/5): A short walk up the hill to okayish accommodation - I expected a little more from this place but it was very much like a boarding school room however it served its purpose for a one night accommodation along the Ingles Camino. The property has a great view of Pontedeume though. The courtyard/garden view shouldn't be advertised as its not a great view of a desolate garden
- Orla (9/5): Superb - Lovely view, staff were very nice and room was clean.
- Abel (9/5): Superb -
