Guest Reviews
- Alfonso Gabriel (1/5): - For us, this was not a good experience.
For context, my wife was still overseas when we booked this stay. It was supposed to be our first time celebrating my birthday together in Australia, so we were really looking forward to it. We had already planned everything and even bought food and wine to bring to the cabin. The email reminders about the stay made us even more excited.
However, just two days before our booking, we were informed that there was an issue with the solar system and that our reservation would either be cancelled or refunded. We were honestly shocked and disappointed, especially given how close it was to our scheduled stay.
I work FIFO and only had a one-week break, meaning I wouldn’t see my wife again for another two weeks after that. This made the timing even more important for us. We were left scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, which was stressful and took away from what should have been a special occasion.
The options given didn’t feel reasonable. A refund would take 10 business days, and the alternative location offered was too far for us to consider. The available reschedule dates were quite far, as they initially planned to move us to May. The dates they provided did not align with my work schedule, and there was even a chance it could be pushed further to June, which made it even more uncertain for us. In the end, we had no choice but to take the refund.
We were eventually offered early check-in and late check-out as compensation, but only after we asked for it. It didn’t feel proactive or considerate given the inconvenience caused.
Overall, we did not feel valued or cared for as customers. It felt like the inconvenience caused by this situation was treated lightly, even though it had a significant impact on us. This was something we had been looking forward to for a long time, and it was disappointing to feel like our situation wasn’t fully understood or prioritized.
Very disappointing.
