• Mavra (5/5): Super basic accommodation, not worth the price - This place was chosen specifically for its location. I know Athens very well, and the area the apartment is at, is very convenient to one, if there is a need to connect to central Athens and the coast. The apartment was clean and spacious, had some modern touches also. Where does one start? We stayed eight nights and were told when asked that there is one set of towels per guest (one facial, one body) per 10 night stay... I didn't dare ask if the sheets will be changed, I guess they are also on the 10-night stay deal? If we wanted fresh towels we would have to pay extra... I guess at nearly €90 per night, not even central or super touristy location, one would expect at least a fresh set of towels and bed change in a 8 night stay!!? We travel a great deal and use Booking.com for stays, mostly in hotels, so our experience has been amazing as far as hospitality and our hopes and expectations have always been met, yet this time the experience has been truly disappointing. Maybe it was one's mistake not to check the information properly, so when I was sent the details on how to enter the property, was then told that the apartment is located on the second floor with NO LIFT. Ahhhh thank you sooo much, we happen to have heavy suitcases to lift, and would have have known of this fact clearly in the description of the listing, prior to the booking, since it would have made the difference of a yes, or a no. Imagine having mobility issues and after having paid and committed to this rental, you get told, sorry but no lift to the property, find your way, crawl up stairs if you must at €90 per night, it's surely worth it!!!! We also found ourselves having unwanted guests, whereas it was wonderful having a quiet spot on the outside balcony, was raided all the time by the local pigeons, leaving it in a truly disgusting state, It's definitely not a plus for this place either! The whole experience in this property has been super disappointing, and dare I say the place is less than basic and definitely not worth staying ever again.

• Berj (10/5): Recommended - Clean, beautiful, cosy, well decorated, silent, spacious for two. Location was great right next to the main square of Nea Smyrni. Hosts are also very polite and responsive. Nothing in particular. All good. Only thing to mention is that it is on the 2nd floor with no elevator, so this can be an issue for elderly people or people with motion problems.
• Argyro (10/5): Great renovated modern apartment in center of nea smyrni - The apartment (2nd floor) is very clean, newly renovated and very central in Nea Smyrni, close to central square and multiple shops, groceries and great restaurants. The bathroom is big and bed is comfy. Nicely decorated. - There is no lift (apartment on 2nd floor) - tenants smoking at inside lobby area - there is no indication which is the door of the appartment, so need to search among multiple doors - no good sound isolation, so hear bit noise from other apartments - too few utensils, in case you really need to cook a meal - area has no metro station, only tram

Would be nice if there was more natural light but that can't be helped. Also there is no lift keep in mind if you have large luggage as apartment is located on the second floor.
