Guest Reviews
- Keaton (1/5): Avoid at ALL costs - Absolutely nothing. This place is genuinely the worst place I've ever set foot in. The room was NOTHING like any of the pictures, the place was extremely dirty with unwashed sheets and towels, the windows were unsafely sealed with sellotape, teabags were mouldy AND another couple tried to get in our property because the people managing this place had given the couple MY details, my personal details with my name and the codes to access my room. We ended up leaving after being in there about an hour, requested a cancellation and refund, they of course denied it and they as well as Booking.com support, have been ignoring my messages about getting proper compensation. Do not stay here, you will feel extremely unsafe and probably catch something.
- Moureen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (2/5): Very very disappointing. Would not recommend at all. - Other guests smoking in their rooms so smell of smoke throughout.
One plate, one bowl, 2 mugs and one set of cutlery. No glassware for drinks. Filthy unusable kettle. No wifi and no fix after messaging owners.
Small piles of broom sweepings left in the hallway. Nosy from rooms above. No headboard and bed kept moving away from the wall.
- Asad (4/5): Disappointing -
- Asad (7/5): Good -
- Farzana (1/5): Uncomfortable place very dirty - They place is so dirty and unliveable does not look like this picture at all bedding is so dirty and floor are so dirty Nothing
- Shola (3/5): Okay - The response time from the team was good There was no remote, the initial code to get into the main door did not work, it was loud with guest coming in and out. The team gave me one outcome then decided against it and gave me another
- Olivia (5/5): Passable - Location & cleanses Small space, no kitchen facilities
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hassoun (10/5): Exceptional - Room Nothing
- Zeeshan (10/5): Exceptional - Very good Very nice
- Nabila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad - The room as not cleaned. There was dirty towels everywhere, the bed sheets was unclean. The room was dirty and the host was not useful.
- Sophie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Moureen (10/5): I really enjoyed my stay, I booked 2 days, i later extend my stay to 4 more days its feels like home - The apartment is cozy. I like that is fresh
- Nasratzada (8/5): Very good -
- Moureen (10/5): The host was nice and helpful when trying to check in. - The comfort and clean environment. It’s fresh
- Nathan (9/5): Perfect for the price - Very cosy and modern, met standards for the price amazing comfortable stay. Little space but that came with the price.
- Eva (10/5): Perfect - Very cosy, has everything you could possibly need! Highly recommend
- Stacey (8/5): Very good -
- Stacey (9/5): Superb -
- Stacey (8/5): Very good -
- Justine (8/5): Great - once you get inside! - After reading the reviews I wasn't sure, but we know the area as many friends live there, so could discount any complaints about the area, and Hot Wok Kitchen is probably my fave place in London! Plus Archway has night tube and night bus :-)
Anyway.
The hotel room was really clean, the (very small!) bathroom was clean with no limescale or mold, the bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of power sockets :-) the sink and fridge were also handy.
Communication with the host was also really great, so responsive and kind!
I had a great stay :-) No mirror :-( hard to do my makeup!!
The digital lock for the front door caused us a few problems! Our first code didn't seem to work, so we whatsapp'd and they immediately gave us another, which worked :-) but when we got home at 230am, it didn't work :-( the original code did work! More troubles on Saturday night, this time the code worked but I needed to lift the doorhandle and then turn it downwards. Took a few tries to realise. So weird! I don't think I could have done it alone, my bf read out the code and I entered it - thank goodness we were sober! Haha :-)
If it wasn't for that I would stay here again for sure :-) oh also the people upstairs were very noisy banging around, but that's not the host's fault. I sleep with earplugs anyway :-)
- Makeda (1/5): Terrible -
- Lee (1/5): Bad -
- Zoe (7/5): Pleasantly surprised as the reviews were not 4on point - Location was perfect for my needs. Room was bright, large, clean the bed was not that comfortable. I will definitely stay again The bed
- K (1/5): HORRIFIC - PLS AVOID!!! - I stayed here for 1 month too long. Bad/terrible/non existent communication from the owner/manager of this place - and I mean horrible! They get the money and that’s their job done literally!!! They would not reply even times of emergency in the building!!!!! My lights in the room kept switching off and I mean 10-20 times in a day and nothing is done about it for a month I was there! I literally have to climb trip the fuse box EVERYTIME!!! Corridor is tight and common doors are too loud/bangs; the cleaners kept banging the door so you never get peace and quite during the daytime or night if there are people in & out; cleaners do not speak english; place is dirty, under the beds are not hoovered; very dusty overall; common areas and stairs not hoovered, they don’t have an outside bin so rubbish tends to fly around outside in the open! kitchen has zero utensils - ZERO so it’s useless unless you buy your own; fire alarms is a common occurrence & one time the whole neighborhood was disturbed by the alarm going off fire department was called in 6 firemen came; 15mins walk to the nearest shop so not that accessible; the tiniest shower in the world. ABSOLUTELY NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY - PAY EXTRA FOR SOMEWHERE ELSE - DO NOT STAY HERE - YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
- Mishra (4/5): Bed was not clean.. not happy - Location ok, room light ok Bed, bed sheet and others
- Christian (1/5): To expensive for what it is - Easy to enter Tiny rooms - dirty and I had to let the cleaner in
I put the key back in the key lock and was accused of stealing it even though I didn’t
Communication shocking and not helpful at all
- Frances (1/5): Can't get in - nothing sent me the wrong door code so was locked out at the night time. the place was filthy. can't even respond when tried to call them after being locked out. had to pay for somewhere else to stay.
- Jane (1/5): NO KEYS - DREADFUL EXPERIANCE- AVOID !! - Nothing at all very upsetting experience! We arrived at the property at approx 5pm, we followed the instructions sent to us, the key code for the external door key safe appeared to have been changed, it would not open. We called the owner many times before receiving any response, our calls either were ignored or latterly declined, EXTREMELY RUDE ! It was a cold and wet evening and we were left outside after a long journey to the location through the tail end of Storm Darragh.
Thirty minutes after arriving at the property we received a response, they sent us a Whatsapp video on how to access the door via a different system approx 45 minutes after our arrival. The internal lobby and stairs were dirty and had not appeared to have been cleaned. Once on the landing outside of our room our saga continued !!
There was a second key safe outside of our room, this opened easily with the key code supplied but there was NO KEY. We could not gain access to the room we had paid for, we once again struggled to get timely replies from the owner, we had now been at the property for an hour. The doors for the show we had travelled to see had by now opened, realising there was no realistic chance of a prompt response to gain access to our room, travel to the venue in time for the show we vacated the premises. We are very disappointed in the lack of service, attitude and time wasted at this location. We managed to cart our suitcases to another hotel next to the venue and pay a further £14 to leave these. We were unable to get showered or changed before the show so felt uncomfortable there. My partner was actually so worked up with this he ended up in hospital via blue lights with an extremely high heart rate of 180. The owner has not responded to our request for a refund .
- Bailey (1/5): AWFUL - nothing everything… i paid for this place and after trying to find the actual place for over and hour we found it however we were calling the host and messaging we had no responses not even the next day there was no communication at all so we couldn’t find our room and we were therefore left in this country by ourselves and i am also pregnant so this was absolutely despicable
- Chijioke (10/5): It was alovely stay not with standing ........... women are not welcome by me . thats my power . - To be frankly speaking , although there is not my home but i used it as a home it was peaceful , quiet as well .
i will recommend there for a starter or someone who needs a place to try there , no bullshit , just your private is your power , you don,t need someone erlse
because alot of them force their selves to you when you don,t need them its a shame but there the rooms cant contain two just one . i didn,t like there was no gas to cook on . but i nmanaged i didn,t complain .
- Kerry (3/5): I'm fuming..... - It was close to the Emirates stadium Everything the apartment was freezing the two days we were there the heating never came on...the lights went off and even though we messaged the owner they never replied so we had no lights...no WiFi as stated....no TV working as aerial was missing....the smell of cannabis was also really strong but not surprising with all the people in and out making noise all night.
I'm really not happy...
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shellesse (5/5): Passable - the room it self was a decent size, perfect for a couple night stay. it was difficult to actually get in to the building. all codes given didn’t work. spent a hour outside trying to get in in the cold/dark! could get hold of anyone due to not being able to call anybody. spent ages messaging on what app before I got a reply.
my concern is I’m a young women in a area that I’m not familiar with, lucky I had a friend however I don’t know what I would have done if I was by myself.
when we eventually go in to the main building( with a different code! not one we had originally ) the code to the key lock out outside our room was also wrong! the owner eventually gave us a different code, to which it opened the key box. However, the key box is empty.
which then meant we had to leave the flat unlocked when we went out due to not being able to access any keys .
which meant our belongings were at risk of being stolen!!!
this issue was raised with the owner and nothing was done to rectify this !!
we even spoke to the cleaner in the morning and she said she would check with her boss but never got back to us!
also when in the room was an empty takeaway box left in the fridge and the sheets weren’t very clean Had some stains on.
- Jay (1/5): Bad - No TV no Internet door didn't lock absolutely shocking. Everything
- Sukhdeep (1/5): Bad -
- Ivan (1/5): Bad - I couldn’t find the address because I didn’t get a house number
- Fariba (1/5): Bad - The owners of this house are cunning. You should not book and choose this option under any circumstances. My experience was very bad. There were no houses in that place. The code was wrong, and the house was occupied by someone else. In a call with the property owner, I was extremely surprised to be given a different address than the one I had booked on the website. This person intended to take advantage. You should not book this studio under any circumstances. I went to another hotel. And unfortunately, they didn't return my money to me. They are cunning and deceitful. Be aware. The owners of this house are cunning. You should not book and choose this option under any circumstances. My experience was very bad. - Nedialkov (1/5): The worst experience in my life. - In first place I have book the property because of the price and locations. At the time of the booking was looking like a good choice for me. The problem begin’s with the arriving for the first room..
The security code for the locker by the main door wasn’t working. I have contact the studio to check am I doing something wrong and they have reply shortly after. After all that was sorted.
My room was at flat A room 1, same problem again locker doesn’t work. I had try to contact them again but these time they reply 40mim after while I was waiting after a long trip.
After couple of conversations they have decide to give me another room at the same property. That was Flat C room 2. I had to agree with that. That moment of time they gave me the wright code for the main door as well as the code for the room. I had success getting to the room finally.
Unfortunately in the room there was a mess left after last renting. I had to contact them again and wait for a cleaner. That took more than 3 hours. At the time I was waiting for a cleaner I was told I can have these room just for a day because someone else coming. I said ok I got no choice but will you make sure I’ll have a room for next day so they have promise me everything will be organise and I have to clock-out by 9am.
I did pack my staff next morning and I have send the a video on the way out and making sure they will give me a new room. They gave me Flat A room 2 hour later so I had to take my luggage with me.
I came back at the property at 9:30pm realising there is someone else at the room. Contact the studio again and it took them 30min to tell me they have done a mistake and double book the room. It was cold outside..
Then they have offer me another room. The room was 3 and a half hours of walking from my original address. I didn’t had enough money to get there and come back next they with a taxi. After I have told them that I was told they will contact booking.com support and they have stop texting.
At the end the second night in London I had to be outside.
PS:
I got the whole conversation from WhatUp.
- Godgive (1/5): It was nice, but i was having trouble getting in the house and the room door, no quick answer from the property owner, n - That there was a tv for entertainment There was not internet at all, asked the property owner for it from the moment I stepped in and he never gave me no wife info
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (1/5): Imaginary - Doesn’t exist It doesn’t exist
- Olusola (1/5): Scam!!! - It’s a scam. Got to the property address and the house is for sale with a for sale sign board in front of the address It’s a scam. Don’t fall for it, the number they have on the property doesn’t go through
- Viktors (2/5): Very poor - Very bad have been prepare studio.
- Asiya (1/5): Bad - I could not find the accommodation, and so could not stay there. I tried reaching out to the property owner, but there was no response. I tried reaching out booking.com as well. No response again. I had to with the help of locals search the place after a very tiring day, all on my own, but could not find it. I ended up making a very expensive last moment booking at a hotel nearby. Please consider refunding my payment. And for the sake of maintaining the reliable standards of booking.com, take the place out of your website, in order to protect others from having such an experience. Thanks!
- Chloe (1/5): There was no door numbers for the property or any sign on the street to show where it is, - I was not able to access the property at all and had no response from staff
- Jonathan (1/5): Bad - I could get in the property the pin was not working
- Nathan (8/5): Very enjoyable weekend and definitely will be visiting again and to the same place. - It was closed to everything I needed and the room was very quiet. I couldn’t get in from the start, but message the contact and soon go in.
No wifi to connect the tv to which needs internet for it to work, I ended using my hotspot on my phone.
- Yoke (1/5): Bad -
- Emmanuel (1/5): They shouldn't allow this property on booking.com I'm getting a refund by any means - I wouldn't say I liked anything at all I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the London City Center Studio, High Standard, and it was far from the high standard I was expecting. The stay was incredibly disappointing for several reasons.
Firstly, the room was filthy. From the moment I walked in, I could see it hadn't been properly cleaned. Dust was everywhere, and the bathroom was particularly grimy. It was clear that housekeeping standards were severely lacking.
Adding to the frustration, the lights in the room kept cutting off intermittently. This made it difficult to do anything, from unpacking to simply relaxing. It felt like I was constantly in the dark, literally and figuratively, about what was happening.
The early checkout time of 10am was another downside. Most places offer a checkout time of at least 11am or even noon, but here, the rush to get out by 10am added unnecessary stress to an already unpleasant stay.
To make matters worse, the TV didn't work at all. After a long day exploring the city, I was looking forward to unwinding with some television, but no matter what I tried, it wouldn't turn on. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since it was advertised as a feature of the room.
The room itself was unbearably hot with no air conditioning available. Despite it being London, the room was boiling, making it almost impossible to sleep comfortably. The lack of air circulation was stifling and uncomfortable.
Lastly, the owner was completely unresponsive. I tried calling multiple times for assistance and directions to the property, but there was no answer. It was incredibly frustrating to feel so abandoned and unsupported during my stay.
Overall, my stay at the London City Center Studio, High Standard, was far from enjoyable. The dirty room, faulty lights, early checkout time, broken TV, unbearable heat, and unresponsive owner made for a terrible experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and
- Paola (1/5): No access to the property. Is this a scam? - Nothing Once arrived at the (run down) address there was no way to access it, such as a key pad. The hosts have not been contactable nor have they replied to any calls/messages. I have not been able to get into the property, seems a scam. Do not book.
- Oluwasegun (1/5): The host is terrible, won’t respond to messages on time, no instructions on how to get in, so confuse and irresponsible! - Nothing Terrible
