Guest Reviews
- David (9/5): Cosy peaceful little hideaway - Quiet location, outdoor fire pit is nice and has a grill attached. Comfortable sleeping. Hot water can be tricky to manage the hang of but it’s good
- Dominic (10/5): -
- Noëlle (8/5): - The cabin was very nice. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the location was convenient. There were mice in the bathroom, which was quite unpleasant.
- Simon (8/5): Stayed one night. Would have liked more if it had fit our itinerary. - Cute cabin in remote woods. Log fire warmed the place nicely. Couldn’t get any hot water. Had to flannel wash from a pot on the stove.
- Simone (10/5): - Eine traumhafte Hütte in der Einsamkeit aber zentral im Wells Gray NP. Super Ausstattung, netter Kontakt einfach wunderschön. Es gibt nichts!
- Jochen (10/5): - Extraordinary hut off the grid and yet with all the mod cons you could wish for. Listening to the sounds of the forest was quite relaxing. We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to come back. Highly recommend!
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Nemes (10/5): A dream stay in the forest - We stayed one night as a family of four and it was a dream. The wooden cabin is cozy, clean, and very comfortable. Surrounded by a beautiful forest, it offers peace, nature, and relaxation. We would definitely love to come back!
- Milly (9/5): A unique cabin in the woods - An old and original wooden cabin, beautifully renovated. Kitchen fir cooking with all the utensils needed, wooden fire, nice seating area out side with fire place. There are 2 double beds located on the second floor. Vert comfortable beds!
The cabin is located inside Wells gray Provincial Park, in a secluded place in the middle of the forest. Amazing location. We loved it very much and highly recommend fir anyone who visits the park and the area This is a rastic place with delicate electric system. We had an issue with that but we wrote the owners and after 10 min it was fixed. Also there is no wifi and as in a lot of places in the mountains in Canada nor very stable network connection. So you might find your self disconnected from the world from time to time😊 which can be nice... just be prepared.
The way up to the beds is with a ladder, not suitable for small kids or for older people.
But even with all that, we think it's a great place!
- Gary (10/5): - Fabulously authentic "cabin in the woods" experience, but with essential home comforts.
- Michelle (10/5): - Being able to have a outdoor fireplace and bbq with the peace and quiet. Nothing
- FABRICE (10/5): - Magnifique cabane cachée au milieu des bois. Tout confort. Silence et tranquillité au rendez-vous. Nous aurions aimé y passer plus de nuit.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic experience, and the host was very attentative. Would highly recommend

- Kirsty (9/5): Lovely, peaceful cabin. - This cabin is off-grid and lovely. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable. The only thing missing is wifi and patchy cell service, but that is all part of being off-grid. We did not meet the hosts but they provide good communications before, during and after. Cabin is very close to Well's Grey Park too. No fault of the hosts or cabin, but it is an area with lots of mosquitos. Hosts provide bug repellent though.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yves (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing cabin! Just perfect. Good beds, chill outdoors with hammocks and a fire pit and inside its realy cozy. We stayed for 2 nights and had an amazing time, the surrounding waterfalls are within short driving range. Good communication from the owner upon arrival. Nothing.
- Trevor (10/5): The best Canadian experience - Off grid experience was so beautiful setting and the hosts are lovely people nothing
- Russell (10/5): Perfect in every way, a real get away from it all - Location, loved being off grid and away from it all There was nothing to dislike
- Bert (10/5): Simply the best !! - The most wonderful stay at a unique location in the woods !! Beautiful wooden chalet, full of character and history. We loved it !! Nothing
- Andreas (10/5): It was absolutely amazing! Simone is a gem and it was one highlith on our trip trough Canada! -
- Eliska (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Absolutely loved our night in the cabin I wish we had time to spend a few more nights there. Would definitely stay again - Amazing little cabin very private and peaceful. Has everything you need for an off grid cabin. Shower was very hard to control it was either scolding or freezing but that’s all
- Thalia (1/5): Nice ruined the experience - Lots of potential for this cabin. The fact it was sustainable, lots of history and close to the park. The cabin has mice. There isn’t any storage to protect your food. You can hear the mice at night. At night, the mice run along the walls, run along the bed headboard, and you hear them along the floor. The mice ate food and made it difficult to sleep. I informed the owners after we left but they deflected stating it’s a rustic cabin and mice are difficult to control. The owners then went on to blame me for having a campfire. I informed them that we did not have a fire but they caused confusion be providing instructions in their introductory email stating we were allowed to have one and encouraged it. Based online reviews, others have been having fires. We asked around to see if there were exceptions to the fire ban as the owner’s email suggested. We were told emphatically NO. In a note, I encouraged the owners to update their email instructions, remove the kindling, firewood and the fire pit pot they provide for a fire so not to confuse people.
They have an on demand water heating system that is not working properly. We wasted tons of water trying to get a safe maintainable temperature.
Dispute when we informed the owners of the mice, and water issue, they turned around and called us irresponsible for having a fire. When I explained the confusion they caused regarding the fire as noted above, they blamed us. Never did they accept any responsibility. Never did we get an apology or sympathy for the experience. Based on the nightly fee, I did expect more.
