• Praising (1/5): Was told room was not available only upon arrival at the property - I had to make a change to my reservation due to weather, and I did this within my cancellation period. When I arrived at this property, I was told the person responsible got things mixed up and there were no rooms available. At no point during the 3 days prior to the reservation change did I get any notification that the room was no longer available. I could have been informed a day prior, or even that morning, that my room was not available.

• Mathilde (1/5): Réservation non honorée le jour de l’arrivée, gestion inacceptable. - Nous avions, avec mon conjoint, une réservation confirmée depuis plusieurs mois pour une chambre double avec salle de bain privative. Le jour même de notre arrivée, l’hôtel nous a informés qu’il n’était pas en mesure de fournir la chambre réservée. La seule alternative proposée était deux chambres simples sans salle de bain privative. Malgré le fait que l’hôtel reconnaissait ne pas pouvoir honorer la réservation, il a refusé d’effectuer lui-même l’annulation et a insisté pour que nous procédions nous-mêmes à l’annulation. À la dernière minute, booking injoignable, nous avons dû réserver un autre hôtel trois fois plus cher, sans aucun dédommagement.

• Maria Luisa (4/5): Passabile per non più di una notte - La posizione centrale La struttura è un po' decadente ma per passarci una notte può andare bene, noi ne abbiamo fatte 3 (troppe). La signora anziana che ci ha accolto era acida e inospitale. Rientatri infreddoliti e bagnati fradici da un'esciursione abbiamo chiesto di poter usare la cucina per fare un piatto di pasta (ci serviva solo 1 pentola e 1 fornello) e lei ci ha detto che la stava utilizzando lei e noi non potevamo (questo alle 12 circa), andiamo quindi in camera nostra e ritorniamo in cucina alle 14 (2 ore dopo) ma ci dice che dobbiamo aspettare che lei finisca di lavare i piatti .. insomma va è chiaro che in cucina non vuole nessuno perché comunque sta sempre lì, se non sta cucinando sta stirando o comunque le sue cose.. Lui invece è molto gentile e ospitale
• BHURINUCH (6/5): both the check-in and check-out processes were extremely disorganized and confusing. - The apartment is cozy and comfortable. However, there is no air conditioner. The owner is polite and can speak English well. Although the owner can can communicate in English well and very polite, he was not responsive to messages on Booking.com at all. I sent a request in advance to inform them of my check-in time, but received no response. On the day of my arrival, I sent another message to notify them of my arrival time, and again, there was no reply through the Booking.com messaging system. Moreover, the process of finally checking into the apartment was extremely confusing. I reserved a very large apartment that can accommodate many people. However, when I arrived at the address that is on Booking.com (Catedral 1233, Downtown Santiago, 8340293 Santiago, Chile) and showed my reservation to the building security guard, the guard called the owner. Instead of allowing me to stay there, the owner instructed the guard to take me to a different apartment located on another street (Teatinos 690, 8340264 Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile). I asked the security guard why I was not allowed to stay at the apartment I had reserved, especially since the original location is much closer to Plaza de Armas, the city center. The guard explained that the apartment I booked was intended for a family, and since there were only two of us, I was moved to a smaller apartment for two people instead. When I arrived at the second apartment, which was on a different street, I met the owner and told him that I was not satisfied. I had booked one apartment, but was placed in a completely different location. I believe I should have stayed in the apartment I originally reserved. The owner explained that this was a system error on Booking.com. He mentioned that he has multiple apartments listed on Booking.com and that the platform has a recurring issue, which has already happened twice this year. As compensation for the inconvenience, the owner offered a discount on the room rate. Furthermore, the overall management of the apartment was very confusing.
• elzbieta (10/5): - It was definitely the best and most welcoming accomodation I had in Chile. The place is located just in the centre of the city, it has everything you need. The family running the hotel is extremely friendly and helpful, we spent with them amazing time. Surely will come back next time! Recommending to everyone!

• Deirdre (9/5): Very friendly, welcoming owners. Comfortable room for a cheap price. - Jose and his wife were so friendly and welcoming. They stayed up to check me in even though it was after regular hours when I was arriving. The room was cozy and comfortable and felt very safe.

• Zdenek (7/5): Good location, but worn down appearance - This family-run hostel as an excellent location, conveniently close to the bus stations, which was the primary reason we chose this accommodation. The city center and the seaside promenade are just a 5-minute walk away, or even less. The owners speak only Spanish. However, if you need any advice on activities or wish to book a Penguin tour, there's a very good travel agency just half a block away from the hostel. WIFI worked well, they accept booth cash and cards without additional charge. Guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen, where you'll often find the family hangig around or perparing theire meals. In the kitchen they serve a simple, continental breakfast, which is prepared the day before. The hostel has a somewhat worn-down appearance, with some areas looking quite dated. The showers and toilets are small, and there is no heating in the rooms, which made it feel a bit chilly. We had to use blankets to stay warm.

• Jennifer (7/5): Overall not a bad place to stay - Location can’t be beat. Literally a 10-minute walk to major attractions and the plaza. Bed was comfortable and plug at the end of the bed. Appreciated the small shelf bedside and the shelving in the bathroom as well. Good hot water for the shower. Male proprietor was friendly. Basic “breakfast” offered of white bread and butter/jam so didn’t partake. You can make your own limited breakfast as well in the kitchen. WiFi worked great for uploads and such. Able to pay by card. I was super worried it would be super loud as I had the room next to the kitchen/check-in area and there’s zero soundproofing, but it was quiet at night (and the AM) save for being woken up about 12:45 AM bc someone was talking loudly on the phone in the hall. The woman proprietor was really sour and acted like it was a chore for me check in. The room is a bit chilly and I couldn’t turn the heating on. Thankfully I was fine sleeping at night with the heavy blankets.

Some corners of the room and bathroom a bit dirty and sound travels but minor and didn’t really detract from the stay
