• M (6/5): Great location, facilities could be improved - Gorgeous apartment with a fantastic view of the mountains and a lovely surrounding neighbourhood that was perfect for walking and hiking. The apartment was generally clean on arrival and it was helpful that cleaning products were provided during the stay. The location itself was peaceful and relaxing, making it a great base for exploring the area. Unfortunately, several things in the apartment were broken or not functioning properly during our stay. The upstairs toilet flush was not working at all, meaning we could only use the downstairs bathroom. We contacted the host multiple times via Booking.com, email, and phone but unfortunately did not receive any response. There was also no hot water in the kitchen sink, the hot water in the shower was scalding (no way to make it cooler), the coffee machine was broken, and the dishwasher did not appear to work either. Some of the bed sheets had marks/stains on them, and we were also surprised that there was no oven. In addition, only minimal amounts of kitchen roll and toilet paper were provided for the stay.

• Marianne (8/5): Nice holiday in a comfortable apartment in a wonderful village. - Big living room with open kitchen, dishwasher, nicely decorated rooms, extra blankets in the cupboards. A bottle of water/wine in the fridge would be a nice welcome, no tabs available for the dishwasher.

Great walks in the area if you have a car. - The beds were comfortable, the communication was good and the property was well located, it was easy to get to most parts of the town The photos of the apartment on Booking.Com do not accurately reflect its presentation. Paint and plaster was flaking from the walls in the upstairs bedrooms. There was a hole in living room ceiling and flaking paint too. There was a big hole in the wall for the washing machine plumbing. The door to the utility area doesn’t lock easily and we thought this posed a security issue. The air conditioning was unable to reduce the temperature to below 22C even though it wasn’t very hot outside and we set the temperature to 17C on the controller. The floor wasn’t clean (though it had been swept) and our feet were filthy if we walked around without sandals, and the windows were very dirty. We couldn’t open the window/door in the double bedroom (no key). We had to access the balcony through the twin bedroom but even here, the handle came off every time we tried to close the door/window combination. Additionally, the door/window on the balcony was “sealed” with silver gaffer tape. Contrary to the description on Booking.com the kitchen was not well equipped. Lots of glass tumblers but only two wine glasses for a whole apartment. The kitchen knives were blunt and tiny and there was no bread knife. We couldn’t get hot water in the kitchen tap and had to boil the kettle to wash dishes. There was no basin to wash a small number of dishes, no drying rack and no tea towels. We had one bin bag provided for the whole week. A dishwasher was provided, but no complementary dishwashing tablets. We think it is unreasonable to expect two people staying in the apartment for a week, to buy a box. A tea plate was chipped and a mug cracked. The chairs and table on the balcony were very weathered and tatty. The pool is in poor repair and needs upgrading. It is not an infinity pool, there were cigarette around and a drinks can lying at the bottom. The description is misleading. We believe that this could be a nice apartment with more attention to care and attention to detail.
• Bettina (7/5): A wonderful and uncomplicated stay with plenty of space for a couple and a beautiful view - Beautiful location with amazing sea views. The house offers plenty of space for a couple. The town of Ojén is very authentic, with little tourism and great tapas bars. A rental car is essential, as the house is located in the mountains, but the setting is truly wonderful. It has to be mentioned that the pool is used by the whole community and is located in the next apartment complex. It isn’t the newest pool. Some small features in the apartment are broken, like a window handle. There is a huge water damage in the main bedroom. It doesn’t affect the stay at all, but it doesn’t look the nicest.

• Sanne Antje Anna (3/5): Een tegenvaller in een leuk plaatsje - Ojen is een leuk dorpje waar de supermarkt en de restaurants op loopafstand zitten. De restaurants serveren heerlijk eten! Het verblijf viel ons flink tegen, vooral omdat er dingen zich voordeden die we graag hadden willen weten voordat we onze boeking definitief maakte. Ten eerste is er een reden waarom je geen foto ziet van het zwembad: deze is slecht onderhouden en geeft groen af op je zwemkleding. De verhuurder geeft het advies om deze te negeren, maar na het zien van onze zwemkleding raden wij dit ten zeerste af!! Daarnaast was er flinke waterschade in de grote slaapkamer. Na het lezen van de reviews bleek dit al in maart het geval te zijn. Dit was nog steeds niet opgelost. De eigenaar heeft dit echter pas op de dag van aankomst laten weten (dit was 26-7, boeking was al gedaan in februari en de review met waterschade komt uit maart). Daarnaast bevat de slaapkamer met 2 losse bedden geen airco, waardoor deze kamer erg benauwd blijft in de avond. De slaapkamer beneden heeft ook geen airco, maar met de deur open kan je deze nog deels verkoelen met de airco van de woonkamer. Daarnaast bleek de wasmachine stuk te zijn gegaan tijdens de verhuurperiode voor die van ons. Dit kan gebeuren, maar het vervelende is dat we dit pas te horen kregen toen we er naar vroegen. Ondanks het huisje voor 5 personen is, passen er maar 2 op het terras. Met zo'n "grote" groep heb je dus geen buitenruimte bij het appartement. Bovenstaande punten heb ik aangekaart bij de verhuurder, die aangaf de feedback mee te nemen. Echter voor ons verblijf hadden we daar niks meer aan en hadden we dit graag voor de betaling willen weten.

I loved the little balcony. The village was just at your doorstep. The kitchen could use a little oven to heat up a pizza or something.

• Mark (7/5): The apartment was very nice, however the above issues need to be addressed. - The apartment itself was lovely & was only a 12 min walk from where my farther lives and 5 mins from my favourite bars in Ojen. Parking wasn’t too bad as there are 2 car parks within a 2 min walk if I couldn’t park outside, however if you come back late it could be a little harder. Facilities in the apartment were perfect for a family holiday. The down stairs w/c was out of service, which I wasn’t aware of until i arrived. This meant that the arrangements i had made with my dad and step mother to have dinner and a few drinks had to be cancelled as due to my fathers physical condition, he was unable to use the upstairs w/c which was very disappointing. The washing machine had been installed poorly so when it was used, the balcony flooded as it had been connected to a “Y” connection with an open end. As I’m a plumbing & heating engineer, i temporarily fixed this by plugging off the open end. The communal swimming pool was dirty and the surrounding area had graffiti on the windows.
