- Amita Verma (8/5): - Worth the money
Very cooperative staff
Too good, everything is perfect Check in time 2.00pm
- Liza Ross (8/5): - The property is walking distance from Hoan Kiem Lake, night market, and other tourist spots.
- Jakub (6/5): Decent cheap option for stay in old quarter of Hanoi - The stuff was very kind and helpful. The room that we got needs renovation, especially the bathroom and power sockets that were not working.
- Filip (7/5): -
- lizg95 (8/5): - It was ok for 2 nights. Our room had no windows, but the air conditioning was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location There were no windows

- Jan Paul Niko (10/5): - Near Old Quarter and cheap rates.
Staffs are well accommodating too

Heel ongezellige kamer waar we liefst zo snel mogelijk weg waren.
- Saffron (7/5): Nice stay - Great Location
Friendly and Helpful Staff
Good value for money
Good AC Shower needs an upgrade - poor pressure
Lift only goes to floor 6, next two require stairs so something to bear in mind!

- Hiroshi (9/5): - It’s literally in the heart of Old Quarter. Everything was so near and the staff are so nice and fun! They also recommending food. During our 2nd day I was sick and the staff are very knowledgeable about the nearest pharmacy. We got 2 bed room. Unfortunately the other room’s AC can’t produce cold air. The wifi wasn’t that speed! But you can still enjoy the hotel!

- EDNA (10/5): - Staffs are very friendly and accommodating. Place is very accessible.
- Kenneth (10/5): -
- Gemma (7/5): -
- Nga (7/5): At least we only need the room for few hours prior moving to next stop so didn’t too disappointed - Great location, right in the heart of Hanoi Not very clean, the toilet was blocked. Poor air circulation in both common area and the room
- Charmen (8/5): Very good -
- Chen (10/5): Exceptional - Cua organizer Ha Long Bay service good . Highly recommend , I have discount for big group too
- Clara (3/5): Don't stay here! Worst experience ever in a hotel - The hotel was located in the old quarter and you could go on foot everywhere. They recommended a tour in Cat Ba that we really liked. The rooms are as the pictures show. We stayed two nights in the hotel, located in an alley and our room had no windows, but during all day there is a constant "beeeeep" "beeeeep" every two - three minutes that was really annoying, specuçyally at night.
We paid for an extra night and the tour to Cat Ba, but it was cancelled because of the typhoon. It was so, so complicated to reschedule it again after a week or so. At first they answered my messages, but when I tried to call them, they wouldn't pick my calls. We had paid 300 USD for that trip! So I was worried we wouldn't be able to do it. Our time in Vietnam was limited and we had no extra days left
When we managed to reschedule the trip and did it, they told us they had moved to a different hotel, but breaksfast wouldn't be included. After discussing it, they saw that they had to offer it if it had been paid before. They decided to place us in a different hotel, so it was their problem if prices were different.
When we went for breakfast... Surprise! In the new hotel they didn't know anything our breakfast, but in the new hotel they were so kind to arrange it after seeing the WhatsApp conversation.
The final problem was in the check out as the new hotel had a bill saying we had to pay for a fourth night we never did. After showing all bus tickets, booking accomodation, etc. It was clear the Valley Hotel had messed up.
Conclusion: Don't stay here!!! It's been a nightmare all the communication, even if the hotel building was fine. We are so happy we have left Hanoi and we don't have to come back here or deal with them. I understand there was a lot going on with the typhoon, cancellations, etc. But they are very unprofessional and we had to face a problem after another, making us be nervous and having to fight for everything. Hanoi is full of hotels, pick up another and you will enjoy your stay!

- Misha (10/5): Friendly stadf - Cua and Rosa were very friendly and helpful.
Cua on his first day showed exceptional customer service, taking the time to show me and welcome me into the city as well as showing me a great place to eat. These memories I won't forget The light in 101 won't turn off so I bad to put a cover over it . Perhaps it needs a windows too
- Lev (7/5): Good -
- Marinela (7/5): Good - It smelled of dirt everywhere in the property.
Anyway the staff was very friendly and helpful

- Emily (5/5): Passable - Very helpful for late check in (3am) I had to kill some ants on by bed
- Pukhraj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shehani (2/5): Very poor - The room was big. The staff helped us for early check in. The road to the hotel smells like a toilet. We had to hold our nose to pass through it.
The corridor smelt like something had died in it.
- Abdul (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriela (8/5): Very good -
- Karolina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marianne (5/5): Passable - They didn't inform us that there was ongoing construction. We checked in very late and were looking forward to sleeping in the next day. However, there were loud hammering and a lot of noise starting at 7am!!! We didn't get any rest. We booked the hotel hoping to relax, but we ended up very disappointed.
- Jason (8/5): Good - Location Lighting and elevator. Elevator is not up to the topmost floor
- Annie (7/5): Good -
- Annie (7/5): Good -
- Butterly (7/5): Short and sweet. - The staff were very nice and accommodating with travel from the airport to the hotel. As a solo traveler this was very appreciated. There was a bit of mould on the roof of the bathroom
- Thien (4/5): Disappointing - The location and the receptionist were lovely as many have mentioned earlier. It is a great place to stay for a short time and it’s great for its price. However, we were disappointed with the room (102). It was noisy due to being right by the reception, with no soundproofing. We were woken early by construction noise, and the room didn’t match the photos. The pillow and duvet smelled like sweat, and the charging port didn’t work + towels with stains and holes and pillows with mold, which made things less comfortable.
- Arthur (10/5): Fantastic and memorable. - Accessibility which is near to the center, budget-friendly, and above all the staff was very friendly. Special mention to Mr. Alex, he was too nice and he was facilitating our trip to Sapa.
- Melvin (7/5): Good -
- Alissa (8/5): Very good -
- Christian (2/5): Dont let the pictures fool you - It was cheap, staff was friendly, wifi provided We were in the standard double room, which did not look the same as in the pictures unfortunately - the room was barely big enough to open our suitcases, and the floor was quite dirty. On the bed were decorative pillows/sheets, and they smelled quite badly, so that we had to turn over the pillows to not smell it while laying on them. the room itself smelled damp and moldy because there was no window. our room was right next to the lobby, so you could hear every conversation as if it were right next to you (also at 6am)
- Juthamas (10/5): Exceptional - Reception was very nice ,was good location in old quarter area 🥰🥰
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hotel. great staff and location could have done with the walls being painted and wires being fitted properly into the walls to make it feel more ‘homely’.
- Jinoo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (3/5): Poor - Good location I traveled with my family and had a really terrible experience at the hotel. I stayed on the 8th floor, and since the floor was under renovation, I had to accept staying there. But when I entered the room, the wardrobe was broken, the lights were falling down, the floor was rotten and full of ants, with cockroaches everywhere - making my family very scared. The bathroom was also very dirty, and the bed sheets were even more horrible with dirty stains left by previous guests. The pillows were covered with hair, which was very disgusting. From the 6th to 8th floor, we had to take the stairs because the elevator only went up to a certain floor. If anyone just needs a cheap place to stay temporarily for a few hours right in the city center and can accept the above conditions, then it’s okay. But if you want comfort, you shouldn’t stay there - you’ll be woken up before 8 AM due to noise from the hotel renovation. My family had to wake up early and move out immediately.”
This appears to be a negative hotel review describing poor room conditions, renovation disturbances, and hygiene issues during a family trip
- Francis (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (7/5): Good - Good location and staff are great. The room wasn’t what we expected and there was very loud building work that woke us up. The staff were great though and said we could move rooms.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Boo (1/5): Disappointed - Location was good The room had a bad smell, pillow is super smelly and the bed is not clean
- Alisa (4/5): A bit shocked at actual rooms. Not as shown on Booking. No window view. - Convenient location. Fairly comfortable bed. Ok hot shower. Two large beds. Staff helped arrange nice City tour. Didn’t match photos. Was recently painted and still had a bit strong paint fumes odor. Many things didn’t work-safe broken, TV couldn’t get ANY channels, toilet too close to walls and had to sit sideways. No window except to a dirty wall. Construction noise started at 7 am.
- Ket (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evelyn (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (6/5): Smelly noise little place - Location and staff. The facility shows its age, it is tucked in behind a narrow alley and part of the building is in construction. There is also some kind of cooking in the alley. So the noise smell and talking all became part of the noise in the room. If you can live with that then it is a good deal.
- Bogdan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yulia (6/5): Great location and friendly staff, but the facilities need improvement. - Great Location, Kind Staff – But Lots of Room for Improvement
I stayed here recently with some friends (24 - 27 April & 30 April - 1 May, 2025), and we had a bit of a mixed experience.
What we really liked:
- The location is excellent, right in the center of the Old Quarter and super close to all the popular coffee shops and restaurants. Everything was within walking distance, which made exploring really easy.
- We booked a family room, which was great for our group of friends.
- Mr. Louis was very kind. I only saw him once during our stay, but he left a good impression.
- They have an express laundry service, which was super helpful. Everything was washed and ready the same day.
- When we went to Sapa for two days, the hotel kindly let us leave our luggage there, that made things much more convenient. The hotel is a bit old, and some of the mattresses were uncomfortable. I think it’s time for an upgrade.
The public toilet in the lobby really needs attention, it wasn’t very clean or well-maintained. For guests arriving early or late, a decent bathroom is important.
After returning from Sapa, we arrived really early (around 4–5 AM) and booked a small room just for a few hours before our actual check-in. We were charged half the price, which was fine, but honestly, the room didn’t feel ready to be used, it smelled musty and felt a bit neglected. We were exhausted so we just dealt with it, but it would be great if even short-stay rooms were properly cleaned and prepared.
Later that day, we moved into our family suite (our second booking from April 30 – May 1, 2025). It was supposed to be for four people, but we were only given two towels. I asked for more, and we only got one extra. When I asked again, the receptionist said they had run out of clean towels, which was really disappointing. Something as basic as towels shouldn't be a problem in a hotel.
Overall, we loved the location and appreciated some of the services, but the hotel definitely has a lot of areas to improve, especially with facilities, room readiness, and basic guest amenities.

- Adriana (2/5): Super loud - The location and the stuff was friendly. I booked a bigger room and the first night they gave me a tiny room with a moldy smell, it was next to reception so we would hear perfectly every conversation in the lobby. After the first night they moved us to the corresponding room that I booked. It was okay, but every night and morning at random hours they where doing construction in other parts of the hotel and it was like having the drill next to my ear. I left one day earlier because all the construction work wouldn’t let me sleep because they were extremely loud (I am an easy sleeper).
- Munna (1/5): Bad - We are all upset and felt regretted staying at this problem hotel. Poor attitude of staff members and manager. This is the worst experience we had with a hotel and local team. The room is dirty and old also, but they showed fancy photos to cheat people. Above all, what we felt angry when staying here is the problemed team with poor customer service and irritating mindset. With the esisting staff members and hotel manager, Vietnam's image in foreigners' eyes wil be negatively distorted.
