Guest Reviews
- Leigh (10/5): Great location in this gorgeous little town - Very clean, easy check in, across the road from the beautiful Myrtle restaurant and amazing bakery. We’ve stayed a few times and Could not fault hotel. Rooms are small but really comfy beds, pillows and linen. Great little common use lounge and kitchen with coffee machine, fridge wine glasses etc. have not eaten here but good looks great and reasonable drink prices. Think I may have suggested mirrors in the room last post which note the room now has. Was in Room 1 next to ladies toilets. Toilet was used a through the night so each time paper towels we taken from the holder the noise wok is up
Definitely suggest just having a pile of paper towels on a shelf. First world problem but was definitely an annoyance.

- Angola (8/5): - The bedroom was simple, elegant.. the only thing missing was the private bathroom. That would have made it perfect... The common kitchen is cute, and the living room too... Not having a private bathroom

- Gina (7/5): A night away - The room was nice, comfy bed, had a corner room right by the 4x gold sign which glowed the room at night, could of done with a blackout curtain. One lady on staff in the bar when we arrived around 2ish wasnt friendly, all the locals took up the bar stools on the bar which then gave no room for anyone else, she was the only one on so a wait for drinks, service and none with smile.
Later on the next lot of ladies were great!
Would of been great if there was a pool table
- Hans (9/5): -

- Dermody (10/5): Brilliant - clean, super comfortable and wonderful staff. Good value! -
- Donna (9/5): - Lovely quiet room. Nice fresh decor and convenient They need a mirror in the rooms..as bathroom is so far from the room it would be great for getting ready in your room.

- Benjamin (4/5): The hotel is well located and since it has been upgraded is much better than it used to be. - There was no breakfast available at the hotel. We had to walk to the town area to get breakfast which luckily was not far. The location of the hotel is excellent in the middle of town. The meals at night were very good and well priced with a good selection available. The hotel has been recently renovated but is still an old hotel with very few facilities in the rooms. However, the upgrade to the hotel is well done and it is clean and well maintained for an old hotel. However, the room we were in had very few creature comforts apart from a queen size bed, bedside table, wardrobe, a TV on the wall, reverse cycle air conditioner, and one robe hook behind the door, even though the room could accommodate 2 people. there was no chair to sit on to watch the TV or put shoes on, no bench or side table to put luggage on - luggage and personal items had to sit on the floor, no mirror and only 1 coat hangar in the wardrobe. I couldn't open the drawers in wardrobe because of the wardrobe door so couldn't use the drawers. There was no face washer and the towels did not get changed for our second day of our stay. Although the room was quite small, there was ample room for the above and a little extra thought by management could have made for a much improved stay. A you would expect from an old hotel, the walls were quite thin and the next door neighbour's TV kept us awake for much of the night.
- Amanda (5/5): - Right in the heart of town which is handy and beds and room is pleasant. Food and drink at the pub is good. Very noisy above the pub and shared facilities like kitchen and living area are lovely. The shared bathroom facilities are not sufficient for the number of guests.
- Maddison (10/5): -
- Dana (9/5): A very cosy stay in a great central pub, with great staff and locals. Highly recommended. - Loved staying at The Old Crow Pub- the kitchen and bedroom interior was freshly done and stylish. Carpet made the pub stay feel very cosy and clean. The hot water in the shower was a great temp and pressure and very clean. There was only shampoo in the ladies shower, no conditioner.
- Smith (8/5): - Great country pub and friendly staff.
- Laurie (8/5): great over night stop to stay - Location is walking distance from Myrtilles Restaurant
- Gary (6/5): Convenient for our needs - Not available Male showers had no hot water in the morning
- Lacey (8/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay - Location was excellent. Friday night band was fantastic.
Facilities were very clean and tidy. I paid extra for a family room and it was very small. Not really happy that the second single bed was a pull out trundle. Noticed there were bigger rooms with less beds.
Men’s shower had no hot water on Saturday night.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): OK, but nothing marvellous. - A little expensive for shared toilet/bathroom facilities.
- Tonia (9/5): Great old pub that has stepped up to provide a good accommodation option - Lovely clean room with quality renovations to include superior furniture and bedding.
The small kitchen, sitting room for guests to use was fabulous.
- Beverley (4/5): Shared facilities not mentioned prominently, nor going up 24 fire escape stairs to your room - The bed was comfortable and it had been recently renovated. Shared facilities was on the forth line down on the bathroom features is not good enough and you had to go up 24 fire stairs to get to the first level to your room, no ground floor accommodation. This needs to prominent on the first page to know what you are choosing when staying here.
The rooms are paper thin and you could hear EVERYTHING each person said or did.
The staff were up at 6am shredding papers in the room next door with no consideration of people sleeping next door or in other rooms.
The window didn't shut properly so the wind was moving the blind and cold air coming in.
I have stayed at alot of booking.com places and this is the first one that is not as advertised upfront. Very disappointing Grand Old Crow hotel, it should have "shared facilities" at the top of the bathroom items not further down the line and it should be prominent on the first page.
As well as "alot of stairs to first floor for your accommodation" for those that are older or who mobility issues.
This is so people can make informed decisions before arriving and not finding out these things in person when they arrive and payment has already been taken when saying it would be paid at arrival.
Sorry but I will be telling these things to every person I meet about how disappointing our stay was here.
It s the first time I have ever called booking.com directly less than half an hour from check in to complain about the accommodation on their site that I'm staying in and I've stayed in many all over Australia and overseas.
Could you please amend your booking.com advertising so older people are aware of shared facilities and alot of stairs to their rooms, so they are not disappointed like we were.
This place would be great for seasonal workers though.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Morse (10/5): Nice, clean and comfortable, an enjoyable stay. -
- James (9/5): Great little pub. Excellent value. - Clean, comfortable and right in the middle of town. Loved that there was a communal sitting room and kitchen as well as tea and a little coffee machine. Wasn’t noisy either. Very convenient to our restaurant so could just walk home after having some drinks. Location of toilets was annoying for oldies, the ladies being right down the other end of the hallway. A bit hot at night. The air con could have been turned down a bit because there were plenty of doonas and warm bedclothes.
- James (7/5): Good -
- Catherine (10/5): Excellent accommodation in delightful Crows Nest - First time in Crows Nest for the Hampton Festival. Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, comfortable accommodation. Love the lounge/tea room. Good food in the bistro. Good vibe in the bar. No negatives, all good.
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): A great quality Qld pub accommodation experience - Great old school Qld pub accommodation with an upmarket feel. The shared lounge kitchen was well stocked and the coffee machine was well appreciated. Had dinner downstairs, one of the best pub meals I've had for a long time. I was there on a quiet night but could be noisy when busy, not much can be done about it being a pub but maybe an after hours number to report late night revellers to management?
- Sandra (9/5): Great pup stay - Clean and Comfortable Bathrooms extremely clean and tidy but communal.
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Liza (7/5): Nice wee town - Staff were nice. Kitchen area was clean as were the rooms. We didn’t expect communal toilets and showers
- Gerard (10/5): Great place to spend a couple of days. - Friendly and comfortable Nothing really.
- Melanie (9/5): Superb - Lovely one night stay. Beautifully renovated and clean. Close to Crows nest National park Noise travels between rooms but was fine for a one night stay
- Bernie (8/5): A wonderful old world, country hotel experience to enjoy. - Old world charm of a wonderful country hotel Only a personal desire to have an ensuite in the room, but then that would take away from the traditional old, country hotel experience, so not really a criticism at all.
- Vinod (10/5): The overall experience was delightful, and we’d happily return with hopes of a quieter night - Wonderful hotel with an unforgettable stay! The Friday evening atmosphere was vibrant and lively. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. Highly recommend this gem. We did experience some nighttime noise filtering into our room, which disrupted our sleep
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): The perfect country pub experience - The rooms and linen were spotlessly clean. Communal bathrooms weren’t an issue. If you have a child I would recommend getting two rooms beside each other.
- Jack (10/5): Very clean and comfortable beds -
- Debby (8/5): Great location, comfortable and just what we required. - Love Crows Nest and the pub. Great friendly atmosphere. Had fun with all the locals on the Friday night before going to our special dinner. Another toilet for the women would be useful.
- Julie (6/5): A very pleasant stay mostly because of the proximity to a lovely restaurant within walking distance. - Very clean and neat Lacking a few comfort details in the room since it is a ‘Shared bathroom’ situation. Needs a mirror for dressing and grooming, at least 2-3 hangers in the wardrobe and a bedside table on both sides of the queen bed instead of just one.
- Leigh (8/5): Very nice pub with fabulous rooms and in a great location in the heart of Crows Nest - Great location. Freshly painted rooms with nicely equipped kitchen and lounge Only one ladies bathroom
Main issue with this is there is no mirror in the bedroom for hair and make up
5 tvs on site but no footy had to travel 20 minutes away to next towns pub to watch NRL
Felt main lady at the bar was regular client focussed
- Ryan (10/5): Ryan family - Great rooms. Really comfy beds and facilities. Renovated. Great lounge sitting area and kitchen facilities were awesome. Great showers and extremely clean everywhere little coffee machine great assortment of tea and plenty small milks in fridge. Couldn't complain about anything. Just needed a few more cups in the kitchen and some small plates.Otherwise awesome.
- Brydie (10/5): Second stay at the grand old crow. I love staying here. - Beautiful renovation. Excellent bedrooms.
- Danielle (9/5): Great little pub with up-to-date, airconditioned, clean rooms. Comfy beds, too! - Shared communal kitchen space and sitting room was excellent. Everything was clean and tidy. Beds were very comfortable. No table or mirror in our room(10). The addition of that would be handy when getting ready to go out. There was one in the family room(4), though.
- Helen (7/5): Very convenient accommodation when going to Myrtille -
- Ron (8/5): Very good - clean and friendly the pillows were too big
- John (5/5): Average. Lot of noise from downstairs. - Lack of ensuite for the price charged. Lack of room in suite.
- Hope (8/5): We thought the stay was pretty good value for the price. - The Grand Old Crow is not a modern building. The rooms are situated up a fairly narrow staircase. The room was basic, but the tongue and groove walls were freshly painted and the room was carpeted and had air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very good night's sleep.
A guest breakfast room and sitting room were available for use by all guests. Our room did not have kettle, microwave, toaster etc, but these were provided in the breakfast area upstairs along with crockery and cutlery.
The charm of the hotel is, that it is, an old building and one can imagine what it might have been like to live in times past.
The bathroom facilities (though a little dated), were clean. To access the facilities we had to go down the hall and through a back door. The passageway had movement sensors which ensured that a night time trip was well lit. Shower and toilet cubicles were shared with other guests. It would have been nice to have had a chair in the room as the bed was quite high and difficult to sit down on if you needed to, when dressing.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- John (7/5): Good memories for all the right reasons - Staff and locals were friendly and helpful. Accommodation is very clean (including shared bathrooms), bed was excellent and layout practical. As a motorcyclist the attraction of staying in a hotel is the convenience of having all needs taken care in one place after a long day in the saddle. I felt my bike was secure (off street parking out back is fine), accessing room key simple, shower, beer and a bistro meal before retiring and getting up early for another day's ride is how I roll. As former veteran's my mates and I were in awe with the dedication and thought expressed in the design of the war memorial in Centenary park across the road. Huge respect to all who collectively made it happen as it's the best we've 'EVER' seen in a small country town. The Sunday markets and car rally was a bonus and indicative of a happy, vibrant and cohesive community who welcome travellers. Who said Country Town's are dying. Crows Nest certainly isn't. I'll be back 👏 N/A
- Angela (6/5): Great accommodation but noisy in the morning - Very clean and comfortable beds. Staff were very obliging. Second time we have stayed here. Fresh milk in the fridge and tea and coffee facilities is great. Very noisy in room 4 and 5 from 5.30 am when the office person counts the money. The office is situated between rooms 4 and 5. Woke us all up actually. Would be better if the lounge and kitchen areas were air-conditioned as it was so hot. Room 5 has no mirror.
- Lorelle (8/5): Very good -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional - Have stayed here before and it’s always been great.
Food Accom Staff excellent
- Sandra (8/5): great stay - beautifully refurbished rooms, extremely clean and wonderful guests lounge room. very warm upstairs.
- Barry (8/5): Very good - Clean and the bed was good. Met our needs for the night. No complaints, a good country pub.
- Greg (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (7/5): Central location with great pub food and friendly staff. - Comfortable and clean room and lovely modern share kitchen and bathroom. Noise from the pub can make it difficult in the evening to sleep.
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Rooms & facilities were very clean.
Meals were excellent
- David (9/5): Really impressive traditional pub style accommodation. Quaint but fresh and clean rooms. - Freshly renovated so everything was great. There was no milk for my tea in the fridge.
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Brooks (8/5): NIce spot for an overnight stay when you are on a road trip. - Great room with very comfortable bed and line. There was a nice view out the window to the park. Had a glass of wine at the bar and enjoyed the country pub atmosphere. Nice little kitchen and lounge room to relax in. Saturday night noise from the bar was a little loud up until 10pm - but it was a Friday night so not surprising. Should have been downstairs amoungst it myself.
- Bernie (10/5): Great old hotel - Old but spotless
- Amie (5/5): Passable - The price
- Lorraine (7/5): Good - Beautiful old hotel in the centre of town that has had a good renovation. The room was comfortable and we liked the little lounge area where you could go for a cup of tea. Having only one toilet stall for all the women staying in the hotel was rough. A mirror in the room would have been appreciated.
- Lindsay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Lovely and clean, nice staff, good food from the pub - Clean and freshly decorated. Tea and coffee available in the guest kitchen lounge. Lack of mirrors in the bedroom which, with only one ladies shared bathroom, made getting ready a bit of a relay.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvia (10/5): Great facilities, comfy bed, great dining and lounge area -
