Guest Reviews
- Eddy (9/5): Terrific Option for a stay near town - Very clean, comfortable, cozy, well equipped 2 bedroom accommodation - much better than a Motel room at similar cost.
It's retro feel reminded me fondly of my parents house in the 60's.
Easy access, good communication and great shower! There is nothing to dislike about The Little White Box.
- Sandy (10/5): Neat, clean and tidy close to all amenities - It’s a funny house but very typical of the area. It was perfect for our needs and had all we needed Nothing
- Janine and Warwick (8/5): The staff are so helpful. - Great little property. Perfect location. The bed in the master needs attention. It has a raised centre and dips on the centre. There is also a need for mirrors. Three girls getting ready for a party with one mirror in the bathroom that throws yellow light.

- Danielle (8/5): Lovely stay for our interstate travel. the house is completely pet friendly - The little white box was a nice rest stop for our travel interstate. It has updated living area and bedrooms with Aircon, the bed was a comfortable sleep.
WiFi was provided and a lock up garage for small/med car. Communication was easy with quick replies to questions asked.
Completely pet friendly with a small fence around the property and a small front yard. The bathroom is a little outdated, but the water pressure was fantastic.
- Dean (7/5): - Keys were in the lock-box, we were late arriving so it was dark. I found the numbers hard to see using the torch but not impossible.
Beds were comfortable and the curtains keep out any light, good night sleep.
Use of the garage was excellent as we were relocating with the ute loaded up, did not have the unload and reload in the morning. Door locks were tricky to use, screen door more so.
Facilities were all OK, did not stop long enough.
Overall a good stop over option.
- Clark (9/5): - The unit was clean and modern inside with adequate cooling and heating. Cooling being very important for how hot Broken Hill can get. Washing machine and dryer was very helpful during our stay, the provided tea and coffee is always a homey touch, so was the collection of movies in the loungeroom. Listing said it was dog friendly but we had to keep our big dog tied up due to low fences in the yard. It is friendly to small dogs who dont jump, not big. The body soap provided in the bathroom was empty, we also had issues shutting/opening the garage door via the button in the house, in the end relied upon the manual option.
- Gemma (9/5): Underrated and much more comfy then expected - Very comfortable, clean and well presented No iron
- Alex (8/5): -
- Shanna (10/5): -
- Chantelle (10/5): Clean and comfortable - I stayed one night with my two little dogs and it was great. The place was very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. Communication from the owners was good, the living room and bed was comfortable and it was great to have wifi and a TV to stream shows for entertainment. The little enclosed yard was all the dogs needed for an outdoor area as well.
- Jodie (9/5): - Nice & clean. Very comfortable beds too.
- Conachan (10/5): -
- Debra (7/5): - Beds were compfy. House was clean Not as private as I would like and parking was a little difficult

- Rosemary (9/5): Little White House was like the Tardis. You opened the door and it looked lovely, big mound to sink. - Great little house would of stayed for longer if it had been available Just the bathroom floor floods
- Tony (10/5): Offered a comfortable stay with facilities to eat in or just a short drive to centre of town to get a meal. - Location, facilities Needs a cover over the sliding door as you get quite wet while trying to open it
- JAMES (7/5): -
- Catherine (7/5): Was a quick stay but warm and comfortable especially compared to cabins we had been staying in. - Clean and comfortable especially the main bed with the fleece sheets, nice touch. Bathroom tiles need replacing but the shower head was amazing, water super hot, just had to tackle with the curtain.
- Clydesdale (7/5): -
- Jennifer (6/5): A week of searching for answers. - Fruit bowl on arrival.
Provision of bread and milk on arrival. Difficulty finding the key in the dark on the first night.
No instructions for using the tv.
No tissues being available.
Empty shampoo, conditioner and body wash in shower.
- Alex (9/5): Great place to re-energise ourselves. - Beds were so comfortable after long trip. All facilities required
- Quineen (10/5): Will be staying here again. - Tidy little home. Perfect for what we wanted. Bonus points for allowing pets!
- Julie (8/5): comfortable stay with dogs in broken hill - comfortable beds, washing machine & dryer, good heating outside yard could do with some work
- Ainsley (8/5): Very good -
- Dianne (7/5): Convenient and comfy accommodation - Comfy beds,
Convenient location,
Thick towels,
Thoughtfully decorated
Clean
Heating
Use of locked garage to park car or trailer Suggestions of Extra items needed:
*mirror in bedrooms (as only one small mirror above bathroom vanity)
*Large glass bowl for use in microwave
*Paper Towel in kitchen
*Broom and dustpan/brush.
Bathroom is in process of renovation?
Hidden step(s) along pathway to garage.
Lack of lighting over table when eating (maybe could redirect one of ceiling lights)
- Phillip (8/5): Good stay - Thicker quilt on the bed would have been warmer
- Neville (7/5): Good -
- Harold (9/5): Superb -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (6/5): It was satisfactory accomodation. - Bed lamp and overhead light not working
Quality of kitchen cutlery and utensils poor
Bathroom door hard to open/close
- Jennie (4/5): If you like a rough shack, you’ll enjoy the stay - It looked good in the photos and the reviews mostly seemed positive. It was clean and the owners had tried to make it homely. The property was on the edge of town not near the centre. It had a very low bed in the main bedroom. Getting up was very difficult. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I ended up on the vinyl couch, at 3 am, and because there were no extra blankets i had to manage with just a throw rug. Our other family member was occupying the only other bed so the couch was my only option.
The description said garden views- not exactly accurate! It was like a shack you’d find up the river, the garden was weeds. The nearest supermarket is the IGA on Williams, you’d need to be young and fit to call that an easy walk. After paying for a week, and it being non refundable, after one night we moved on to a delightful cottage near the hospital which was a relief. The host at the Box tried to encourage us to ask for a refund via booking.com but I know that it’s impossible to get a refund, so I didn’t bother as applying for a refund would’ve meant paying $30 more than the original booking price, I didn’t think this was fair.
The cottage we went to had all the amenities you’d expect. Including a lovely garden. What a contrast to the Box…. The name kind of says it all. I wish I could give a better review. The photos with the coat hanger shows how low the bed is to the ground. The photos out the window show the “garden views”
- Charles (5/5): Passable -
- Ching (7/5): Good -
- Judith (9/5): Broken Hill Stay on our coast to coast trip. - Little White Box was in a great location for looking around Broken Hill. It was very comfortable for our familly. We appreciated being able to do washing, with machine, washing liquid, pegs and hanging space provided and readily available. Having kitchen facilities was great too. The garage was perfect for parking the motorbike! We would definitely recommend and stay again. 😊
- Caroline (10/5): Great little place that will suit all your needs. - It was close to family and easy to get to all areas of Broken Hill NA
- Shanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - After a long drive, and being very tired. It was do lovely to turn upp at this little house, which had everything you could want, and so comfortable.
I reckon this to everyone. Nothing to dislike.
- Mitchell (5/5): Passable - The place was so hot when we arrived it was 43 inside I think maybe you should drop by and turn on the air-conditioning before they arrive at 9pm it was still 28 inside after travelling all day in an air conditioned car it was unbearable something you should really consider for that reason I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay, very comfortable and clean.
- Lexi (4/5): Disappointing - I felt the property was not really up to air b and b standards. I could see the owner has tried to make it homely, but I wouldn't want to stay there again.
- Germain (10/5): Exceptional - A real true home. all the necessary amenities for daily life are available. the house is big, the beds are comfortable and the supermarket is within walking distance. it is easy to park and you can discover the outback easily. perfect for a family. The owners are very responsive and understanding.
- Peter (9/5): It was home away from home. - Everything was there that we needed.
It was neat, tidy and very livable for the time we were there
It was also close to a dog park for our dog The vacuum cleaner was not working.
Access to property was sent to email address which we did not have access to as we were traveling.
A quick phone call resolved the issue
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Francis (7/5): Good -
- Gaby (8/5): Very good value for money - Very handy position to city No wifi
- Talal (5/5): Passable -
- Belinda (8/5): Fairly basic little house but clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and would stay again. -
- Duane (10/5): Exceptional - Easy to check in
- Alamgir (8/5): Very good - Good location. Rooms were of good sizes. Kitchen was very reasonable. The second bedroom has no air conditioner.
The carpet is old and not very clean.
- Mark (3/5): We were very disappointed in the experience but are happy to further discuss with the owners. - The Location was OK but not close enough to the main part of town for a couple of older people with bad knee's to walk too. Our selection was based on the lockable garage and 2 separate bedrooms with large beds. we found the garage still contained to much stuff to park our vehicle inside and open the doors to get out. The beds where shockingly un comfortable and the one in the main room was very low to the floor which made it very hard to get out off. The light in the kitchen was not working. The toilet/bathroom was in extremely poor condition and way over due to be renovated. The washing machine was broken.
- Jane (10/5): We enjoyed the luxury of two bedrooms for a reasonable price - Lots of character and comfort Nothing
- Allen (8/5): Very good -
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - The house was beautiful & well kept.
It was a very comfortable night, even though we had a few hiccups. The walk from the bus stop was long, but that is no big deal if someone has a car.
