Guest Reviews
- Carly (7/5): - We loved the privacy and the outdoor spaces, and the cute retro feel. It was perfect for our weekend, going to the hot springs and some bushwalking. The bbq plate was appreciated for our breakfast cook up. The possums on the roof! This really disrupted our sleep đ˘. Also there were confusing messages about whether we could have a fire or not (we didnât).
- kathy (8/5): - Quirky retro in the woods a good memory staying here a bit different. We loved it! Outside loo in the dark needed a head torch but it was fine really!
- Meagan (10/5): -
- lauren (10/5): Peaceful & relaxing - We felt alone , lost in the bush somewhere! Zero noise , loved the fit out & felt very comfyâŚ. Little extras were much appreciated. Zero

- Frank (8/5): - Lovely location - close to St Andrews Brewery, hot springs and beaches. The outdoor space and open fire pit was lovely. It is rustic but has a nostalgic charm. Very basic toilet (think camping/festival toilet). It is a caravan so tight spaces to be expected.
- Bronwyn (5/5): -
- Maher (10/5): -
- Parul (7/5): It was a pleasant stay - Location and the vintage caravan. Fire pit NA
- Yilu (9/5): -
- Shaan (10/5): Exceptional - Location is good.staff is friendly. Next day when we going to check out and there was no water. so we had leave without having a proper shower. called the owner and he didn't pick up the phone. but he called us back then we already left the place.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Was a magical moment for R&R.
Close to everything.
Telling everyone.
Will go back for sure.
Nature everywhere.
Dreamy experience.
Love the vintage memories.
đ Nothing. Perfect!
- Naomi (10/5): Cozy stay at Back Beach Beryl! - As soon as we came in, we instantly fell in love. Beryl is so cute! We came inside to a jar full of minties and sachets of cereal! Instantly took me back to when I went on holiday as a kid and stayed at hotels. The next night we had a fire and it was so relaxing just looking up at the stars. No sound except for the possum in the tree.
The whole experience was simply cozy.
I'll definitely choose this spot again if I come back to Melbourne/Mornington Peninsula We liked everything!
- Achyut (9/5): Superb -
- Carole (9/5): A fun place to stay. - I liked the novelty of staying in a 1990's caravan. The setting was lovely with all the solar lights, surf boards, etc. The owners have a quirky sense of humour. A quiet and peaceful location but not far from Sorrento and Point Nepean. Since it is supposed to be a B&B I was disappointed that only tea and coffee and a few lollies were provided.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Overall stay was enjoyable - Safe and secluded location, toilet amenities was in very good condition. Owners were very communicative about the property and directions. Caravan has Netflix and streaming services. Shower has hot water. Loved the Australian references and wellness inside the caravan. Wouldâve preferred the toilet to be closer to the caravan, bed is a bit short in length but understandable given itâs a caravan. Wouldnât recommend if you are very tall.
- Viliami (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - James was a very communicative and friendly host. The van is cool for a different stay. Enjoyed our time in the peninsula and good location to explore
- Barbara (10/5): Fabulous stay, we'll be back :) - Lovely and secluded, perfect getaway. Nice outdoor area with fairy lights dotted about to sit around and star gaze. Close to hot springs and brewery. Separate toilet (portaloo) to accommodation, shower inside caravan (although we didn't use on this trip). Bed was smaller than we're used to, but just meant we had to get closer ;) Did not change our experience and we would book again.
- John (8/5): Pleasant. - The isolation. No air conditioner.
- Lily (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing weekend stay in the retro van! Very peaceful on the property and itâs kitted out well with cooking utensils, games etc. The bed was very comfortable and It was walkable to both the hot springs and St Andrews brewery. We would definitely book again.
- Potgieter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (9/5): Cute, cosy and comfortable - We absolutely loved our stay at Back Beach Beryl. The setup offers lots of privacy and there is an awesome fire pit we didnât get a chance to use.
Compact and Cosy, there is everything you might need for a short stay. We loved everything. The bed is a little bit shorter than average and my partner is a bit taller than average so he couldnât stretch right out but for me this wasnât an issue at all, worth bearing in mind if you are on the taller side.
- Maicol (10/5): Exceptional - The location is just perfect if you're planning to go to hot Springs.

- David (7/5): Good - I just needed a bed for the night after attending a wedding nearby so the location was perfect. Iâm used to camping so the outdoor toilet wasnât a big issue and it was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, only a double but fine for me on my own. My biggest issue was the possums that kept running across the roof of the van throughout the night.
I really just needed a bed for the night so didnât get to experience the surrounds at all. Overall, it was a good experience, albeit still a little pricey for what you get, but the alternative was double the price so Iâm not complaining.
- Thomas (1/5): There was no hot water I should be refunded I found all her signs and thenOnce I found the van, it t - None The room was not properly marked as the retro van, so I drove around and round on the property looking for the van they had it marked as something else. Very frustrating. Very disappointing
- Bronte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (10/5): A relaxing quiet night away - A great little hideaway the van was comfy and had all the essentials. The possums jumping on the roof during the night were quite loud.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable, we loved the use of the firepit and appreciated the late checkout. Was super private and quiet. Possibly too hard to fit in, but would have liked a queen bed.
- Isabellea (10/5): Loved the caravan and the set up out the front. Beautiful location close to hot springs and alba. Highly recommend. Than -
- Tessa (10/5): Australian outback adventure (close to the city) - This camper has everything you could ask for ,for a cheeky get away in nature. We loved the retro Australia camping vibe.
Board games, Netflix, bbq, heater everything! Itâs close to the beach and peninsular hot springs.
The fire pit was a great addition and we enjoyed sitting around it and roasting marshmallows in the night. Nothing! Everything was great and we would have loved to stay longer!
- Katie (10/5): It got everything I need and I love camp fire so much. - It got everything I need and I love camp fire so much.

- Liz (9/5): Lovely retro caravan accommodation. Very private and comfortable. :) - Very well set up caravan- even with shower, nice little bedside lamps and can watch Netflix propped up in bed if itâs raining outside which it was!
- Edhelyn (8/5): Very good - Very nice and peaceful location Nothing
- Kacey (10/5): Exceptional - Such a peaceful nature set scenery, it is beautiful.
The host had everything ready and set up and gave us our privacy yet assured if we needed anything they were happy to accompany us.
Even had wifi and netflix on the van! Only thing i could suggest is maybe a couple more pillows on the bed đ
- Shao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional - The privacy outdoor fire stars at night comfy bed friendly James Outside toilet a bit smelly on arrival but clean. An issue on a rainy night.
No signal for tv. To be fair as we arrived late at night we did not inform James. Confident he would rectify any problems.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The van was exactly as described and shown in the pictures, just beautiful. James was super friendly and kind. we would definitely visit again and recommend this cute little place to our friends and family.
