Guest Reviews
- Jason (10/5): Booking.com You need to refund me please - Didn't end up staying but had already payed, looking for full refund. The owner's told me they that they have cancelled the advertisement on booking.com, so no one can stay, but for some reason it's let me book a night. Owner's are selling up and they don't want anyone staying there anymore. Booking.com need to give me a refund asap, I've already spoke to you guys and nothing has happened. It's bloody ridiculous trying to get a refund that isn't my fault

- Jim (Dimitrious) (10/5): one of the most comfortable and enjoyable stays I have had in a long time - Location is quiet, well away from major roads and surrounded by trees and birds. The place was amazingly clean and well set out, and the breakfast options excellent with eggs, cereals, fruit and yoghurts. very hard to dislike anything
- Sue (8/5): -
- Lorena (7/5): Lovely spacious house but needs central heating for winter, and a coffee table in lounge area - spaciousness of house. two toilets not enough heating especially in the bedrooms. one bedroom had an unmade bed.
no coffee table so no where to place our drinks and nibbles whilst we sat in lounge to watch mpvies
- Mark (9/5): My stay at The Artist's Cottage was excellent. - I liked it all.
All the above options did not let me respond, but if I could, I would have responded positive to them all.
The host drop by to make sure all was ok.
Breakfast provisions were excellent.
House was clean, very comfortable, in a great location and value for money.
The key was easy to obtain on arrival. Nothing

Amber, the host was fantastic, leaving food and snack for the stay. I loved the fresh eggs!
Communication was excellent and I loved every minute of my stay. Thank you Amber! It was wonderful!
- Lynda (10/5): A pretty and peaceful country cottage. All the facilities have been maintained to a high standard. - Food basket is exceptionally generous and accompanied by good coffee and fresh flowers- really appreciated.
- Gerard (10/5): Highly recommend accomodation , breakfast amazing . Great communication - The breakfast was exceptional , the layout of the house was fabulous --- a home away from home .
Owners communication was terrific .
I would highly recommend If I had to be picky the parking space was a little tight for a bigger car , but parking on the quiet street was more that adequate
- Jodi (10/5): A delightful cottage that I didn’t want to leave - Very comfortable, well and thoughtfully furnished and appointed. Lovely extras like a generous breakfast basket, fresh flowers, oil, salt and pepper, etc
Delightful home away from home Loved it all
- Jason (10/5): - It was a nice house, with everything you needed!
- Julia (10/5): Never disappoints, always delivers!! - Always exactly what is promises I travel weekly for work and coming here is like going to a second home I can always trust that it is clean, everything works and the breakfast provisions are an added bonus. It’s such great value and a welcome relief for a weary traveler.
- Ward (8/5): - Quiet Draughty but heating worked well.
The art on the walls

- Barb (10/5): -
- Teresa (10/5): -
- Conybear (10/5): Nice and cosy - It was very nice and cosy and not to far from the city centre especially if you know your way around Bendigo I will say the bath did make sounds when I went in it (creaking) but I'm a big fella so it might just be me
- Robert (10/5): -
- Glenda (9/5): Cottage comfort - Very cute cottage in lovely area
- Brendan (10/5): - Lovely place with a great location. Everything went smoothly and the cottage was very clean well presented.
It had everything we needed including a nice backyard area and even a bunch of board games.

- Karen (8/5): Very good - Good location and breakfast items. No heaters in the bedrooms, just electric blankets.
The two heaters in the lounge room was great though.
- Julia (10/5): Perfect cottage for weekend away. Fabulous hosts. - Just fabulous. Cottage has everything you need for a weekend away. Fluffy towels, super comfy bed Breakfast was a bonus and Amber and partner were really friendly and helpful. My new go to accommodation in Bendigo 🙂
- Celeste (9/5): A cosy and comfortable stay! - The location was great. The house was so cute and welcoming! The back room was cosy and we had everything we needed for our stay. Especially loved the artwork too. The entrance area would benefit with some more heating or seals around the front door.
- Mark (9/5): We had a great weekend and Sunday morning was so relaxing in the warm house. - The only small issue was we first used the PIN number shown on the Booking.com app which didn't work but then I read the email which had the correct PIN number. Everything was great. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Patrick (10/5): Gorgeous cottage that will exceed your expectations. - I loved the cottage with comfortable beds with electric blankets and excellent heating. The breakfast provisions were generous. I loved the ambience of the cottage. The bath was an added bonus. I will definitely be back. Nothing. It's one of the best accommodation places I have ever stayed.
- Sheridan (10/5): The Artist's Cottage exceeded our expectations! - The host, Amber, was a great communicator. We were notified of the key situation well in advance of our arrive and the process was seamless.
The place was gorgeous! Tastefully renovated and decorated. We came on a particularly cold weekend, but the heating was the best, with electric blankets on all the beds.
The breakfast supplied was excellent! Something to please the fussiest eater. Farm laid eggs, muffins, homemade jam (which was so yummy), cereals, fruit, and all the staples in the pantry and fridge, including salt, pepper, butter, milk, coffee, tea, sugar.
Lovely artwork adorned the walls (hence the name of the cottage). Loved everything!
- Craig (9/5): Superb - The breakfast pantry was a bonus. Overall a great home away from home experience
- Viv (10/5): Exceptional - From the moment I booked, the communication was exceptional! Amber was so lovely to deal with and ensured my stay was just perfect! Her homemade marmalade was delicious, and the breakfast goodies were amazing! I will definitely be back! Thank you! ❤️
- Ben (10/5): Cozy cottage close to city centre is captivating. - The breakfast gear was spectacular,
The protein oats were spot on. The bed was so comfortable and the bath amazing! Also the heater being on upon arrival was outstanding as it was so cold over the weekend. Nothing really.
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - Have stayed before and it was as good as previously experienced. Breakfast makings were exceptional.
- Te (10/5): A most excellent stay - The warm welcome via messaging and thoughtfulness to have the property warm for my arrival. Cleanliness was top notch, bathroom inspiring, bed comfortable. The breakfast foods a real treat. The atmosphere was homely, warm and comfortable. The location was perfect to access CBD, recreational centres, and Bendigo Station. I had a most excellent stay.
- Jody (8/5): lovely, quiet home - Lovely place that has everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped, as was everything else.
The choices for breakfast was amazing.
I'll definitely
stay again if passing through
- Leah (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect. It was clean and had everything you need. Close to everything. Host was great. It was just me and my friend and we loved it
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eu (9/5): The marmalade was excellent!!! - Very clean.
The property had everything that we could think of that we might need.
Including some that we didn’t think of. Nothing.
- Garcia (10/5): I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy such a lovely cottage. - The breakfast exceeded my expectations as the host cared enough to meet my vegan lifestyle with more than enough food for a breakfast. The wonderful drawings in the walls added to a beautiful atmosphere. Although I was there only for a day/night I had time to go for a walk around and enjoyed the nice/tranquil surrounding area. I can't think of anything that would have made my stay more enjoyable.
- Gail (10/5): Great location, quiet but close to attractions. Excellent provisions and facilities. - Fabulous breakfast provided with organic eggs with golden yolks. a good range of cereals, muffins and home made jam. Plenty of condiments in the cupboard.
I was also very impressed with the quality and number of utensils and pans. Sharp knives - what a bonus.
- Jewelz (10/5): Felt at home as soon as I stepped in the door! - It was a lovely space. With art hanging on the walls. Pity I didn’t take advantage of that big bath!!!
- Janice (10/5): Fabulous cottage - Spotlessly clean, an excellent breakfast provided, good location without being in the heart of Bendigo and everything I wanted. Highly recommended for solo travellers or groups.
- Rick (9/5): Superb - Well presented house, modernised, clean, in a quiet neighbourhood Nil
- David (9/5): Great house, helpful host and nice part of Bendigo. The nearby Victoria Hill reserve worth a walk -
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): Very easy and comfortable. - Great location, excellent setup
- Tanja (10/5): Perfect size for me to stretch out and enjoy the local area - Absolutely pristine. Everything I needed to be comfortable! Love the full size bath tub to unwind after a long drive. Close to everything, but a step back donuts peaceful. It would be unfair to say anything. I’d like a separate green bin next time. Because the hosts left me so many eggs and Veggies from their garden for my dinner.
- Casey (9/5): Cute, comfy and convenient - As a former resident of Bendigo, one thing I miss is the architecture so was looking forward to staying in a miners cottage. I loved this place, it felt original but with all the modern amenities. I particularly loved the bath. I was super appreciative to Amber for turning the air con on so it was nice and cool when I got there. I’ll be sure to stay again the next time I’m in town.
Some very thoughtful touches too such as the cut flowers, and the breakfast basket. I popped some jam in my yoghurt and it was divine. I quite liked the art too.
Thank you :) Nothing really - at first I was a little weary about the bed being firmer than I’m used to, but I didn’t mind it after a little while. I’m fussy about pillows, and whilst none were perfect, I made do as there were different options (which I appreciated as lots of places provide multiple of the same firmness).
- Thomas (10/5): Excellent - Beautiful cottage and lovely location. No hesitation in recommending it. I would stay there again. Nothing it was great.
- Maureen (3/5): I found it difficult to enjoy anything after the problems with extreme access - Quaint clean The access code was incorrect and placed so much unwanted stress upon me!!!
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Cute. Super clean with lovely linen and fittings. Thoughtful breakfast supplies
- Stewart (9/5): Was very good and would recommend to anybody - quiet place and easy to get to
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (9/5): Superb - Possibly fans in the bedroom. Also an option to use lighter weight blankets, doona
- Liz (8/5): Very good -
- Marlene (9/5): A lovely relaxing stay and a fantastic array of breakthrough supplies - Quiet and clean
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely home, beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
Host was very accomodating and house was full of lovely extra's.
Loved the beautiful fluffy oversized towels. nothing at all great accomodation.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful. I stayed 5 nights. Located an easy 5-minute drive from Bendigo Central. The cottage was spotless and tastefully decorated, including the owner's artwork. 3 double bedrooms and a lovely kitchen, dining, and living area. It is in a very quiet area away from traffic. No neighbour noises. A pleasure to stay.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - Tv wasn’t working properly
- Joanne (10/5): A wonderful cottage with arty touches - I loved the cottage and the art work everywhere.
Provided breakfast was a great touch
The bath was fabulous
Communication with the owner was good Blinds are needed on the bathroom and living room windows to keep the heat in on chilly nights in Bendigo !
- Fisher (8/5): The cleanliness and feeling of a home away from home, comfy. - Breakfast included and location. Although the beds have electric blankets, the rooms (especially the front end of the house with no heating) were freezing cold. Disappointing to find when booking 3 bedroom accommodation.
- Cath (10/5): Loved this cottage - I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Amber. - Cozy, light filled. Great breakfast. Loved the artwork! Nothing
- Angela (10/5): Very comfortable stay. - I like the 3 bedroom house very much. I wish that I could stay 2 nights. The host was very CONSIDERATE and generous had fruit and cereal etc. for breakfast. It was nice and clean bath tub in bathroom. It was EXCELLENT and well set up for short term accommodation for family. It is LUXURY. I love the 3 bedroom house. Next time I would stay for weekend in Bendigo. NOTHING.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- Tina (9/5): I'll definitely be back - This is a lovely little place to stay. A sweet little cottage on a quiet street that was neat, tidy and spotless. The bed was really comfortable with nice sheets and good pillows. Fantastic breakfast including eggs, porridge, cereal and fruit. The kitchen was well set up with everything needed to cook a meal.
- Tracy (9/5): Very comfy, relaxing & just what I needed after a long drive - It was easy to find, close to supermarket & the main road in/out of town.
There’s a driveway for the car, it’s a lovely cottage with a very comfy bed.
It’s a very relaxing place where you can sit inside or outside.
The owners are so lovely & accommodating, I loved the art work too.
I have saved the cottage for next time I’m in town There were no instructions on where to leave the when I was leaving.
The was 2 types of tea, however I don’t drink either, a good basic English breakfast would’ve been nice, earl grey you need the taste for.
- Jennifer (10/5): History with a modern twist in a very historic city - Great location in a lovely cottage that has been tastefully renovated. Enjoyed all the original art work.
Well stocked with everything we needed. Very generous breakfast provisions. The only improvement would be the outside terrace area - very uneven so not ideal for those with mobility challenges.
- Ian (2/5): Extremely frustrating. - After travelling for 4 hours and arriving at 7pm. The Artist Cottage was double booked in a week hosting a exhibition. I needed to travel 45 minutes north of Bendigo to secure the only accommodation available.
- John (9/5): Lovely cottage stay for a weekend away. This would suit a single, couple or a family. - Amber supplied plenty of breakfast options in her kitchen, which was quite handy and also offered a full bottle of milk in the fridge too. The property was quite charming and unexpected. Classic home at the front which was converted to modern living into the back of the home. The bathtub was huge. For a bigger gentleman, this was a really nice option to have to relax and unwind after a big day out in town. The tv couldn't get reception in the living space, but I was wise enough to use the free to air tv apps through the fetch box, which their internet service was perfect. The bedding was quite firm, but reasonable.
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Fantastic place! Lots of space, very clean with a lovely vibe. Great DIY breakfast. Just great! - This is best value for money place I have stayed at in Bendigo ever. Lot's of space, clean as a whistle and brilliantly catered for. The art on the walls gave it a really good vibe. Hopefully it won't book out because this will be my go-to when I stay in Bendigo.
- Tenai (10/5): Classic cottage with modern amenities & amazing host - It was a very quick trip for me, with a delayed flight I didn't arrive until 11pm. The property was very easy to find, the house was beautiful and comfortable. Getting in so late, it was very much appreciated that there was a breakfast (which turned into dinner).
Lovely and clean, everything that you need for a visit, the host was very accommodating, offering an extended checkout due to cleaners being delayed, however I was out the door early for work. Highly recommend!
- Anna (10/5): As above , written for Gillian’s recent stay . - Very generous , breakfast, and other supplies , standard of everything about the artists is tasteful and if high quality, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Nothing, hosts have gone above and beyond to provide a really lovely , comfortable, place to stay, with generous added extras . Would highly recommend this accomodation.
- Judith (10/5): Cute property in Bendigo - Everything was clean and well set out and there was a delicious selection of food for breakfast
- Jenny (9/5): Very relaxing - I loved banana muffins every morning Shower chair for semi disabled AND handrails at front steps.
- Anna (10/5): Comfortable , very spacious with beautiful art , and thought put into making you feel welcome and r - Very comfortable with a generous breakfast , a great effort into making the stay memorable . Front door key was a little difficult to use ,
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - The Artists Cottage is classy, comfy and beautifully styled. I was travelling for work and the cottage was a fantastic place to unwind after a big day.
The bed was very comfortable and the owners Amber& her hubby were very friendly and accommodating.
I loved the natural products and attention to detail with snacks& lovely food offerings. 10/10.
- Greta (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional - Cute old cottage with modern simple decor.Loved the thoughtful little extras left for guests.Pretty garden around the front veranda.Very comfortable bed and linens.Quiet street a few minutes drive from the centre of Bendigo. There wasn't anything I didn't like! Would love to stay there again for longer than one night.
- Roberts (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect for my need. I had some difficulty accessing the tv because of two separate remotes. This had been advised to the host and rectified by adding some instructions. The back yard and sides have good high fences for privacy. Perhaps a blind could be added over the door leading to the back courtyard.
- Paul (8/5): A delightful stay -
- Megan (10/5): Convenient, comfortable & clean -
- Robyn (10/5): This place is perfect. It's clean, comfortable, stylish, conveniently located, and well stocked. - I loved the outdoor table and chairs, the gorgeous bath, the comfy bed, and the generous breakfast supplies. The only tiny thing that would have made it better was a couple of hooks in the bathroom.
- Karen (10/5): Great property. Easy to get to and centrally located - Clean and comfortable
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage with lots of space ! Lovely art work in every room and a great breakfast!
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niamh (10/5): Exceptional - Amber's property is a total gem. A gorgeous little cottage that's only a short walk into the centre of town. The breakfast options were generous, the bed comfy, and Amber was quick to respond to any questions I had. Such a lovely place to stay!
- Alicia (9/5): Nice home away from home! - Great breakfast supply and loved the bath. Split system in kitchen didn't seem to work for me.

- Howard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (8/5): Perfect place to stay for my needs - Great location, quiet, clean.
Loved the supplies in the kitchen
Bath tub All ok
- Christine (8/5): Would recommend - Cody & comfortable Needed block out curtain in bedroom
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was very generous, good quality fixtures and fitting throughout the home - it just felt like a home away from home. I will be booking again for my next work trip to Bendigo. only two small suggestions would be a coffee table or side table in the lounge to rest a cuppa on and maybe a shower caddy to house soap and shampoo
