Guest Reviews
- Peter (5/5): Big disappointment - wouldn’t stay here again!! - Location was good, seemed secure, had a good lift and was quite new. The amount of communication required in order to receive details on how to access the property was incredibly excessive (over 20 WhatsApp messages) and the requirement to send images of driver licenses and to lodge a £1 deposit was disconcerting and difficult to manage while travelling. I would never have booked this apartment if I had known this would be required. The instructions were also frustrating. Lame videos instead of clear map locations for lock box and apartment entrance were annoying. And the vital info on use of dongle to access the building and lift were left out. All the over the top messages about security meant that we didn’t even bother to have guests visit.
The mugs were filthy and no dish cloth/sponge or dishwasher powder was supplied. Response from staff about this was unhelpful and condescending. Double and single beds were crammed into a small space such that the wardrobe couldn’t be accessed. No bin in bathroom. Vertical blinds didn’t cover windows properly and 3 were missing. Hence there was limited privacy and they didn’t block sun in the morning. Aircon was a mystery. No chairs or stalls.
- Philip (8/5): Well situated and equipped. Very comfortable. -
- David (10/5): Excellent flat in a great location - Excellent flat. Great value
- anna louise (10/5): - Great flat in a good location.
- Zeljka (9/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Great stay! - Great communication, easy check in, clean flat Warm and 1 blind not working
- Hannah (4/5): Overall disappointing and uncomfortable - do not stay here in the summer. - The property was a good location and had the basic amenities you need but it was overall pretty disappointing. I didn’t want to give them a bad review but because they didn’t respond to me when I shared what was wrong I’m sharing to warn other travellers. The lock box is in highly inconvenient location compared to the apartment. Really hard when you’re travelling by yourself with luggage.
Overall the stay was unfortunately incredibly disappointing.
- The blinds did not open and close properly.
- The lock is very hard to open from the outside as it is wobbly and you can’t lock from inside easily.
- Neither thermostat worked on the wall or in the bathroom / or there were no instructions how to use.
- The towels that were folded in some design on arrival were damp on the bed.
- The dryer had clearly been on before arrival, you could smell it and the room was very hot. There was laundry hanging in the cupboard.
- There were sheets still in the dryer.
- The beds are terrible, it must be a plastic mattress protector I assume because they are crinkly and disgusting. The sheets had also clearly just been taken out of the dryer because they were so wrinkled.
- The fact that I was charged £50 for a late check in when all the reviews speak of a key collection from the lock box is daylight robbery.
- Christopher (10/5): Good value for money. - Luxurious. Clean. Good description of procedure and communication between staff and client. Slightly warm. Of course, also related to overall weather.
- Eckart (8/5): Nice appartment in a modern flat - bathroom was particularly nice Return of keys to the original location of the safe is a bit inconvenient.
- James (10/5): Fantastic. So much better than a hotel room and would 100% stay again - Everything. Super modern building in the heart of vibrant Goodman Fields and only a few minutes from Aldgate East tube station.
Spacious. Light. Spotlessly clean and very quiet.
Key collection a doddle with clear and easy to follow instructions and super service from the management company. Nothing at all
- Marwat001 (9/5): Great flat - Great flat, really good location. Brilliant communication by landlord. No air conditioning so it was very warm during the current heatwave.
- Wai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (8/5): Fantastic location and immaculate - Extremely clean and fantastic location The key pick up and drop is awkward
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - Clean, modern apartment with well equipped kitchen, lovely Juliette balcony overlooking the square where the sun poured in.
- Kelly (8/5): Great and would stay again. - Great location and very clean and spacious for what you need with lots of storage. No bins in the bathroom and no where else from what we could see/checked cupboards etc.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Nothing
- Yiannost (7/5): Good -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bimal (4/5): Oberall was stressful as whenever I went out I feared I will strugle to ise the key to get in. - Location - Catastrophic (Complicated) check in process. Never seen such a process before. Takes away a lot of your precious time. The process needs to change.
- The door key was difficult to use.
- It appears the door key was tempered with.
- The bed seemed to collapse
- Terry (10/5): Modern living! - Close proximity to work, clean and spacious enough for a solo or couple.
Nice development with lots of amenities right on your doorstep. A coffee machine and airfryer would be the only thing I would add. But as I prep all my meals I would say that.. everything else was great
- Maheeda (10/5): Host were very well with communicating and helpful during check in. Clean and modern apartment. Extra heaters were provi - Modern apartment in a great location
- Jamie (8/5): Great location but turn the heating on please - Great location, lovely building, really nice area No heating, they provided 2x small radiators but it took a long time to warm the apartment up
- Nihal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Modern, stylish space with great amenities close to the City - Clean, spacious, modern apartment in a good location for me. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was exceptional. Living room area bright and comfortable with a decent sized TV. Kitchen area clean and modern and had everything one might need. Only minor issue is the directions from the key safe to the property could have been clearer. The apartment is located in and area with 5 or 6 identical buildings and it took a little while to locate the right one. Other than that the place was lovely.
- George (10/5): Great apartment - Very lovely location, amazing residential property. Very safe and stylish.
- Avik (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kelly (10/5): Fabulous one bed in the center of Aldgate. - The apartment.was spacious, clean and centrally located. The hosts gave very clear instructions about key pick up and all aspects of the stay.
- Krisztina (3/5): Poor - The host was very helpful and quick to respond, the apartment was very clean. Unfortunately the heating did not work, the host told us how to adjust the temperature but the equipment was set to 18C and the screen was locked, had no chance to adjust it. It was very cold in the apartment unfortunately.
The wardrobe door was broken and off the rail, and the little bed side table had a leg fell out. The toilet brush was also broken.
The host was really kind offering to coming and fix it, but for such a short stay I did not needed those repairs, it just made our stay uncomfortable.
- Judy (9/5): Convenient Apt. in Central London - Pros: Beautiful apt. in the heart of London (near East Aldgate Station). Comfy mattresses & pillows. Apt. temperature was perfect. Beautiful view of a garden nearby, Shower was warm & did not leak. Full set of cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses & mugs. I believe there was also tea in a marble-looking container on the counter. (Note: No real cutting knife for cutting apples & other harder fruit.) Convenient garbage disposal system in the building. (Note: No garbage can that I could discern. There were recycling containers & that was what we used for garbage cans --- after lining them with a plastic bags.) You can open the window & get fresh air. :-) Plentiful hangers. Refrigerator works well.
Location is EXCELLENT!!! Two grocery stores within 5 minute walk --- including a really big Amazon grocery store. Two highly rated restaurants right next to the apartment & many other good restaurants nearby. (DanDan, the Chinese Noodle place next door, had the best Chinese Beef Noodle Soup in London (better than the famous place, Lanzhou Lamian, in Chinatown). DanDan's service was also good --- though we only did take-out.) We wanted to try the Italian Pasta place next door too, but never got around to it. The closest subway (Tube Station) is East Aldgate --- which is about 5 minute fast walk. If that station is closed, one can go to Aldgate Station instead. It's a little farther, but not that much farther (another 5-minute walk).
After our stay, we stored our luggage at the nearby Premier Inn-Aldgate (66 Alie St.) via Stasher.com. It was really convenient, safe & cost only about £25 for 4 pieces of luggage (unlimited size). Con: Getting the Key was a disaster. Their video was so tiny, that we could hardly see anything. Also Google Maps was not accurate enough & told us that the garden area next to the intended street was the destination. We looked all over that garden, but of course the key-box wasn't there because it was the wrong place. After seeing the video again, we realized that we were totally off mark & wandered ourselves onto the correct little street. When we initially tried to open the key-box, it didn't open. After careful inspection of the shrubbery, we found another key-box. The code which we got opened the 2nd key-box. After we got to the building, the key didn't open the main door. After a while, we figured out that the building door was controlled by a magnetic key (a "Fob") which you place at a pad near the main door. Also note that you must use this Fob again at the elevator in order to use the elevator. The rental agency managing this apartment should have told us about the existence of this Fob. It is a little lump, so we originally thought it was just decoration on the keychain.
Minor Cons: Sticky smear (jam?) on counter; it wiped up easily. Bedframe slats were out of place on the right bed (when standing facing the beds) --- luckily, I could put the slats back in order quickly. There is NO eating table. You eat on the sofa & use the coffee table as a table for food. Bedroom does not have door. The apartment really is more like an open-plan studio. Since we are a family, it was fine, but people who are not so close, might have an issue. Apt. has some minor maintenance issues which did NOT affect our comfortable stay.
- Stefania (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful host and responsive.
Great stay.
- Arne (8/5): covenient - Well organised and clean apartment.
Relatively spacious.
We appreciated the balcony a lot
Very central to the subway Aldgate East. Which made it easy to travel to the ExCel mention centre but also to other interesting places for dinner downtown. Despite the availability of a kitchen not much cutlery and tools for cooking were available.
The apartment remained warm and humid also ventilating it with an open balcony door.
Two pairs of keys would have been more convenient of two travellers go their separate ways in London. Yet, this could be solved with the key safe.
- Lindsay (2/5): Very disappointing, broken blind, not enough bedding, and we were called liars. Wouldn't recommend. - The location was quiet and safe but we had to walk a few minutes to find the keys in a padlock attached to a fence - the directions were good but it took us about 30 mins to work out where the apartment was and where the keys were. The apartment itself is very new, clean and attractive however, we are extremely disappointed in the communication and management and the way the apartment was left for us. It was a very hot weekend, and on arrival to the apartment, my children and almost 70 year old mother immediately tried to close the blinds on the glass sliding window to block out the sun. We noticed that the blind was broken, and therefore it wouldn't close. I sent the management a video&they said they could see the clip was broken&they would send maintenance up. No one came to fix the blind. This was booked for 4 people, and we knew that one person would have to sleep on the sofabed. The cover was falling off the arm of the sofabed too. When we tried to make up the sofa bed, there was a duvet, but no pillow, no sheet, and no duvet cover. I asked management about this and they repeatedly said that bedding was in the storage cabinet in the hallway but we searched high and low and couldn't see anything! We then found the washing machine full of wet bedding and were able to take 2 towels out of that to dry ourselves to use. We were told repeatedly that a team member would check this for us - but no one came. We only had 2 towels on check in, and took 2 more wet from the washing machine. My young daughter had no bedding, and the blind wouldn't close so we had zero privacy and the daylight and sun heat was in the room from sunrise. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, I took a video and photos of the way we left the apartment, and then received photos from them showing full bedding under the sofa bed, and a closed blind!!! This is lies - not correct at all and we are so so disappointed. We have tried to contact them 12 times by phone and multiple times on WhatsApp. We also took this up with Booking.com and we have photos and videos to prove everything. We were told by the accommodation that 'our claims were incorrect' so compensation 'offer rejected'. The management of this accommodation is just terrible, and we are so disappointed that we have been called liars too. I am still taking this up with Booking.
- Valerie (5/5): Passable - Close to Tower Bridge and transport Booked a 1 bedroom apartment and the beds and living area were in the same room not like the photos on the website. Phoned the contact number and left a message for a call back but that didn't happen. Picking up the key from an obscure place in a street nearby was challenging. No instructions on any appliances in the apartment. Not into Googling instructions.
- Georgia (10/5): Very comfortable - The property is in a great location and nicely decorated and spotlessly clean Would have been good to have a bottle opener and can opener but we were only there one night so did not cause an issue
- Martin (10/5): Nice flat in great location with excellent communication -
- Karen (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, very clean and new property. Very helpful staff and their prompt response Inadequate Kitchen utensils, i.e. no knives, trash bags (just 3 small trash bags for 3 days stay ), no basic seasonings.
No rubbish bin in the toilet
- Deniss (6/5): Pleasant - Great place and very nice apartment. Near the liverpool street like 15.min walking. There is cafes or shops near so all quite comfort.
Nice gesture of manager calking you or ownerr and talk to you, but asked to send ID and pay . Nice place in general and beautiful apartment. 1. Can be loud outside, even the owner is very strict with the noise in the apartment , however I cannot say that area is super quite.
2. Super doggy way how to check in, they send you the guidance how to find the key of the house ( it's a locker in the bushes). Super inconvenient
3. Was surprise for me to be charged 200 pounds as secure deposit apart of rent ( in case I make party). Even I spoke to the owner saying I will be alone and for work - I just need to sleep there. And as well the have a ring bell with camera there so they can literally see who is coming in and out , still charging.
4. Wasted time to understand which floor and how to open the door, maybe I was not clever enough but tricky and WhatsApp service staff was a bit cold, when I sent her message asking which door instead of explaining she only referred me to the guidance.
5. No instructions at all how to use staff at home, like air condition - I just couldn't switch it off. Was soo cold.
- Donald (9/5): Superb -
- R (10/5): Excellent and convenient - Very nice and cosy apartment, really nice value for money as compared to hotels as you get full apartment. Close to stations and easily accessible
