Guest Reviews

- Andrea (8/5): -
- Maxi Gianna (10/5): We had a lovely time at the B&B and would come back anytime! - We had a wonderful stay at the B&B! The staff is very kind and was always there to help us. We stayed at the Webster room, which has an amazing view on the river. Everything was very clean and comfortable! The pub downstairs also has great food!
- Catherine (8/5): Charming. Loved the location and Staff. - Room was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and accomodating. The location is excellent.
- Donald E (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and would have liked to stay longer - The breakfast was good and the location was perfect for our weekend getaway N/a
- Paul (9/5): - Location and the infrastructure
- Grant (10/5): Amazing B&B with great staff and a fabulous pub downstairs. We had a beautiful view of the harbour! -
- Sibylle (10/5): - Very friendly host, very helpful with recommondations for Restaurants and activities. Lovely continental breakfast.

- Paul (9/5): We had a very enjoyable stay in the Loft and the view of the waterfront was wonderful.. - Breakfast was very good, but glad that we didn’t have to carry it up the stairs to the Loft There wasn’t much space at the sink. Perhaps a small moveable stand would help
Communication impossible
- OLIVIER (9/5): -
- Juliet (9/5): It was wonderful except for the view. - Walking distance to all. I booked river view room, more expensive, very disappointed as the view is the road and the building across the road. Yes river view only if you are standing right at the window at an angle. I was disappointed for that. Everything else fantastic.
- Chandan (10/5): Modern and cozy with an old school vibe - Our loft room was absolutely gorgeous! Lake views, comfortable bed, awesome bar within the Inn, 2 minute walk to the lake We did bump our heads a few times on the slanted ceiling, but nothing dangerous
- Robert (8/5): Would come back and book again - Very convenient to the waterfront and restaurants. We were just stopping over one night on our way to the east coast but Gananoque is a great town and this B&B and pub was a great spot! N/A
Assolutamente consigliato. Dovesse ricapitare ci torneremo sicuramente con molto piacere.
- melinda (9/5): Nice, clean boutique hôtel with a good breakfast served on the porch and an added bonus pub in the basement with live en - Location near water and village with shopping and restaurants. Nice breakfast on screened in porch, cellar pub with live entertainment, friendly staff, parking available on nearby street. À/C window units. Bathroom a little small.
- Douglas (10/5): I would highly recommend Stonewater to friends. The location is perfect. - Breakfast was good. A little more protein such as cheese or yogurt would be nice on the continental menu.
The restaurant was very good and staff excellent. Enjoyed the facility very much. The Webster Suite was an entire apartment with great views of the water.
- Silvia (9/5): - La camera molto spaziosa e accogliente.
- VS69 (10/5): The hotel met my expectations. - Very convenient location, clean, comfortable room. Excellent and polite staff. Very noisy AC.
- Laura (8/5): A pleasant stay with very nice staff. - The breakfast was very good and the location of the property was within walking distance of City Cruises for our cruise to visit the 1000 Islands.
Pub food was good, however we found beer expensive and got overcharged for individual small salads.
Fish and chips was tasty and portion was generous. Access and usage of TV was complicated .
- Marlena (10/5): -
- Valentina (9/5): -
- Jean (8/5): Very good - Very nice B&B with a great location, a walking distance to the departure of the boats to the Thousand Islands, hosts very welcoming, we enjoyed our stay. nothing
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful apartment-size room, right on the water. Peaceful stay. - The location right on the water.
- Ronita (10/5): Wonderful time right by the water. - Excellent location right on the water!!
Staff was friendly and professional! A member from our party had a birthday and on request they brought up a birthday card with the breakfast and accommodated some gluten and restricted diets. Thank you! The air conditioning could be improved.
- Betsan (8/5): Very good - We loved the staff as they were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and they accommodated my sister who was vegan. Location was excellent as you could see the water and only a 2 min walk to the edge of the water. The aircon was less effective when the curtains were closed. We had to prop it up with hairclips. We were there at the hottest time of the year which was unseasonably warm.
- Nathalie (9/5): Fabulous location and the room was very quiet. - Great location and really good value for the money. We were welcome by the owner’s father and he was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
- Hoi (9/5): Nice place to stay in Gananoque - Very convenient location. Few steps to where to board the cruise. Can enjoy the lake with from the room.
Also the room is a suite so it’s bigger than we expected. The breakfast is very full, and they even gave us two more little cupcakes to celebrate my partner‘s birthday. It’s very sweet of them. There is no on-site parking, luckily there is no issue with that because we can park on the nearby street.
Stairs a little bit high, so needed to be careful when walking up and down.
- Ling (10/5): Comfortable, great location, and friendly staff. - great location
- Reid (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was good, location excellent. Check in and check out staff were elusive.
- Philip (7/5): Good - Breakfast was good, but not outstanding. Air conditioner was noisy and not easy to operate. Stairs were so steep and poorly lit to be dangerous. New pub menu no where near as good as before. Check in procedure needs improvement.
- Love1burd (8/5): Very good -
- Vij (9/5): Superb -
- Gail (10/5): It was a great place for a weekend getaway. Charming place in a great location. - We stayed in the loft suite - the only suite at that level of the house. It was private, cozy, and had great views. It was more spacious than in the pictures. The breakfast was elegant and delicious.
- Arthur (8/5): Our overall stay was tainted by the initial unfriendly reception - The room was comfortable, and the bed was decent. It was near the waterfront and a close walk to town. The initial reception was not particularly friendly nor helpful. We understand it wasn’t the owner of the B&B however, this person needs to be trained on how to greet guests. The stairs to our room were extremely steep and the receptionist, a young girl, offered no help with our bag. We have stayed at many B&B‘s and breakfast is traditionally served in a dining area. At this B&B, it was delivered to a table outside our room for consumption in our room. We did have a very pleasant conversation upon our departure.
- Guiomar (10/5): Perfect B&B - Perfect location, big suite overlooking the river , super comfy bed and the staff is so gentile and kind. Ah and the breakfast is delicious and to be enjoyed at the room
- Kevin (8/5): Delightful stay. I would absolutely be a guest there again - The breakfast served was way beyond what unexpected. IT was fresh, excellent choices. Thank you! The neighborhood was lovely and quiet with a view of the river and the full moon. Extra comforter. More windows that opened
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Ralph (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (9/5): Superb -
- Zixuan (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast is sooooo great! And the staff there are really friendly
- Barbara (10/5): It was relaxing, rewarding and lots of fun!! - The location and the house is beautiful with such lovely touches!! Really nothing. The bridge being closed was a small disappointment, but we worked around it and it certainly did not reflect on a most gracious B&B
- Renee (10/5): Great location, wonderful views, unique and comfortable rooms… you can’t go wrong if you decide to s - We arrived after dark, so it was a wonderful surprise in the morning to look out our windows to a beautiful view of water and islands. The breakfast of fruit and pasties was very nice. We especially enjoyed the individual quiches..which were warm! The only thing… and this is minor because everything was wonderful…Maybe our prepared breakfast was meant to be eaten in our room, we, however, wanted to eat on the enclosed porch on the lower level. Bringing our tray of food and plates down the steps was not too difficult but bringing a cup of hot coffee down was a bit more challenging. Maybe a coffee station of sorts on the lower level would be nice.
- Herbert (10/5): Wonderful people making sure you stay is special - Fabulous place Charm A little
Pit of the past and
Wonder
- I (6/5): Pleasant - location
hygiene Noisy room from other customers
had to eat breakfast on our lap on our room
breakfast was very unhealthy with lot of sweets
no fresh tea of coffee
no parking place
expensive for facilities
- Joann (9/5): Superb - Great little B&B. Our room was comfortable with great views and the breakfast was delicious. Easy parking and walking distance to everything.
- Baz (7/5): Lovely place, great location, nice people, expensive. - Delicious breakfast in the sunroom. They also will bring it to your room. Nice old gracious Victorian bldg with gastropub downstairs, good fnc. Public works generator roaring outside our window all night. Road work closing bridge and streets. Not their fault obviously. Unpleasant scented air in hall and lobby. Polyester sheets. Expensive.
- Spence (4/5): Came across 3 live bugs between bed sheets. They were not “bed bugs” but was advised by management they were bugs from - Location Lack of choice for a hot or cold breakfast. Cold breakfast only option.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlene (8/5): Beautiful historical home. - Property is a beautiful historical home. The breakfast was lovely. The A/C was not adequate for a comfortable sleeping temperature. The shower is quite small.
- Michael (10/5): perfect - Great location, good breakfast, exceptional staff. less stairs
- Franco (9/5): Amazing breakfast! - Breakfast Bed small
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Continental breakfast laid out individually for each room in the morning was beautifully presented, good quality and plentiful. Great location for City Experience cruises.
- Rosemary (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Tiiu (8/5): All in all a pleasant stay. - Location is terrific, close to the theatre. Parking is always a concern.
We miss the hot breakfasts of long ago when the Stonewater was under different management.
- Shayena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (10/5): Perfect place and location - Thé location of the B&B is perfect. It is within walking distance of the town and water and the Cruise Ship. I also love that the pub was downstairs. The food is excellent. The morning breakfast was great with more than enough food.
- Laurie (9/5): We loved the view from our room! - We stayed in the "Loft" The view from our room was a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence River. The entire room was immaculately clean. The breakfast, brought to our door each morning, consisted of delicious pastry baked on the premises, along with fresh fruit and yogurt. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We loved the ambience of being in an old inn. This place is beautiful! The attached Pub serves good food and cocktails. Again, the staff there is excellent. Especially Rachael. Because the B& B doesn't have central air, 2 portable air conditioners were running 24/7. Which provided some relief from the heat, at best. Also, because we were on the top floor, many of the ceilings were very low and my husband kept hitting his head.
- Ghida (9/5): Superb -
- Jean (9/5): lovely staff, a minor problem resolved. ideal location to explore the museum and little town. - lovely location A bit of a parking issue, but resolved. bar had live music, but there was a quieter space.
- Anita (8/5): Will definitely stay here again! - Close to restaurants, shopping, parks, etc. Only stairs to access rooms.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Curtis (8/5): Quaint building close to pub - Close to cruise port Limited breakfast for folks with food allergies
- Gunnar (9/5): Superb - Wonderful Stay with an awsome breakfast. Very nice Location, near to the harbor and to downtown. Many thanks to Greg. He gave us many useful hints what to see in the sorroundings.
- Wendi (10/5): Gananaque gem! - The location was perfect, near the water but walkable to town.
Extremely comfortable room. We stayed in the king suite on the top floor. Steep stairs to get up to the room but what a lovely spot! Private, comfortable bed, sitting area with a view of the river. It had a small kitchenette and huge tub and separate shower. We loved it! The breakfast provided was absolutely delicious!
It has an attached pub with delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Great place spend time on a rainy day! Nothing!
- Celia (8/5): Very good. If we need to break our journey again in Gananoque, we will choose the Stonewater Inn. - Break fast was a little surprising and very good. Building was old but well modernized. Lunch we had in the bar was also very good.
- Ghislaine (9/5): Superb - Hospitable helpful staff. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and well served. Great location. The staircase was a little steep for me. Nothing else to say.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- Miles (8/5): Very good - Location was great for all we had planned for our weekend.
- Ralph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- Debbie (10/5): Our stay was lovely. Perfect for our 3 person getaway-sitting room with pullout was amazing - Excellent location
Breakfast was good
Loved the atmosphere All was good!
- Suzette (10/5): Wonderful! - Very nice people and very clean! Location was great!
- Clive (4/5): Good stay, just the stair climb and the parking was upsetting - Great old house. Bed was great. Breakfast was great No one there to greet us, had to go to the bar to check in. No parking at all, had to find parking on the street. The stair climb was deadly, if you can’t climb stairs like my wife, don’t go. It doesn’t say anything about it.
- Hank2 (7/5): Good -
- Eliza (10/5): Wonderful stay with exceptional breakfast! - Really wonderful place to stay. Lovely decorations.
Room was spacious, comfortable, with all necessary equipment.
The highlight definitely is the breakfast!! Delightful!
- Sarah (9/5): Charming B&B in a superb location - Beautiful suite. Loved the decor and furnishings. Views from the suite were great and easy to walk to waterfront and downtown from the Inn. Comfortable bed and quality bedding. Plenty of hot water and air con units to make temperature comfortable although noisy and would have liked to have been able to open windows. Breakfast delivered for collection outside room every morning was superb. Food in the attached pub was very good. Wi-Fi was a little hit and miss. Larger bath towels would have been a nice touch. Not much interaction with hosts…they seemed very rushed and busy.
- Myles (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderfully friendly staff. Great location. Amazing breakfast.
- Susan (10/5): The continental breakfast was amazing! Fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, croissants, danishes, etc. All fresh and homemade. - The property was in an excellent location to the beautiful waterfront, 3 minute walk to the City Cruise boats. Emma checked us in and was super friendly and accommodating.
The room was tastefully appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed the nice big soaker tub after a long day of walking around. We enjoyed talking to Greg who gave us lots of recommendations as to what to see and do in the area.
- Stefan (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Great stay in Gananoque - Great location and comfortable / clean room and facilities.
- Wei-ning (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): A hidden - Everything. Plenty to do with in walking distance. The staff at the B&B and the pub were the friendliest people that went out of their way to accommodate everyone. The breakfast that was served every morning was just incredibly. We will definitely return every chance we get. Thank you everyone for making our state such a pleasurable experience. Nothing. This place is a hidden gem.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ash (8/5): Cozy, well located, neighborhood B&B - They are known for their breakfast and it was certainly a treat! We asked to have our meal served on the porch and at 8 am we were greeted by freshly baked croissants, filled croissants, quiche, orange juice, coffee and fresh fruit! All in the price of the room! There were no curtains in part of the living room and one of our party of 3 was sleeping in there and awakened quite early by the brightness! The air conditioners did the job but we would have preferred to be able to open ALL windows and turn off the air conditioners! Only the kitchen windows allowed us to outside air.
- Christina (10/5): The room was amazing, staff was amazing location was amazing - Location was amazing! The room was beautiful with such unique characters. Must stay location Nothing it was great
- Lillian (9/5): We were happy with our stay! - Breakfast was great!
Location was perfect! Coffee choice could be better
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
