- vanEmmenis (8/5): - Waterhole next to dining area is phenomenal! We saw hundreds of animals and the elephants were there for the entire night, each night
- brian (8/5): Run by a great team - could not have been more helpful. Location is exactly as promised. - Viewing especially at night time is spectacular. All good from the team running the place - they were brilliant. A polite reminder to camping guests to please not wave high powered flashlights across the waterholes at night........really??
Alles super. Wir können es gerne empfehlen. Preis Leistung hoch, aber ok.
- Bill (10/5): Will book for longer next trip - Fantastic outlook over the waterhole with plenty birdlife and animal's.
Dinners were excellent.
- Paolo (9/5): Superb - Very large cottage, an amazing view on the water pool where you can see a huge number of elephants and other wild animals. Staff very kind Nothing, just a little over priced as the majority of Botswana accomodations
- Andreas (9/5): Wonderful location at the waterhole - Doing huge efforts to help the animals survive in dry season by filling the waterhole. Therefore great location to watch the wildlife very closely from the terrace. Food was awesome and chalets are spacious and clean. Prices are high in July
- Juan (8/5): Wonderful stay in the end! - Although we made a booking and paid in advance the property manager weren’t expecting us when we checked in. On all our travels through Botswana, this was the most expensive property to stay at..so we were expecting exceptional service.
That being said, the animal viewing from the upper deck and bar area were suburb. That we were forgotten at check in/ expected more for $
No kettle in the room.
- Nicky (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and saw a lot of animals at the waterhole. - It has an ideal situation overlooking a waterhole, so instead of going to look for the animals, they all come to you. Saw a wide variety of animals coming to the waterhole, especially at night. It's an ideal place if you want a rest from driving or travelling. It is well worth seeing and I'm glad we stayed there. I suppose I was disappointed that there was no possibility of doing a game drive from the Lodge. We came from Kasane and were on our way to Savuti. On reflection I would probably have only stayed one night here.
- Margo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (2/5): Unique watering hole but unless you are looking for a very rugged experience, do not book here - The watering hole is very unique - it is private to the property with so many elephants and water buffalos. The overview deck is very close, really a cool spot. However, the viewing area closes at 9pm so very limited time to utilize it between arrival and dinner. Unfortunately we had to leave after our 1st night due to the condition of the lodge. All the surfaces we touched turned our hands black, the sheets were stained, the toilet didn't flush, the lights didn't work in the bedrooms, there was an old q-tip in one of our bathrooms along with soap buildup and scum on all the surfaces in the shower, no soap, no towels, no toilet paper and no tissues in either room, and cobb and spider webs in every single corner that one looked. The "upstairs entertaining viewing area" included several broken stools. With no AC/proper fans, the temps in the room was well above 45+ degrees, and we found no less than 15 spiders and other large insects crawling around. The "fully equipped" kitchen had a freezer that we were told was a refrigerator but we were never able to confirm as it did not turn on. We were also told that the stove wasn't working due to a problem with the gas. While it is stated that there is WiFi, it doesn't work (even in the lobby) so don't plan on using it. There is no mosquito netting in the rooms so I guess bring your own?
The drive to the lodge is also very challenging. We had been self driving Namibia&Botswana for 3 weeks and hadn't come across any road half as bad. We felt unsafe and weren't given proper information on how to handle it. Do not book here if you don't have A LOT of sand driving experience.
The service was unfortunately equally bad. I also expressed all of my concerns with the owner of the lodge and received plenty of excuses but never offered anyway to make our experience right. I've attached screenshots of his response to my request for a refund for the state of the lodge in the pictures.
To top all of this off, the lodge is quite expensive - it costs more per night than some of the top quality, full service lodges in Kasane.
- Teresa (10/5): Just sit back, relax and watch the wildlife as the safari comes to you - The bar and restaurant area are quite incredible. You can sit there day or night and see animals quite often in the hundreds around the water hole.
The whole Safari comes to you whilst you have a drink. Incredible place. Loved sitting in the bath, just watching a herd of elephants or maybe 1000 water buffalo come past
- Richard (10/5): Amazing location!! Loved it -
- Gidon (10/5): I wish to be there again! - The location was attractive and interesting , far away from any civilization. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
.The food was excellent and well served. You need a 4x4 to get there because of the sand.
Highly recommended. I liked everything.
- Johniem (10/5): Amazing lodge with exceptional staff - Amazing and very friendly staff who really tried to make our stay extra special. Givemore the chef really surprised us with creative and tasty dinner and breakfast.
The waterhole is exceptional and you can easily spend days just looking at the wildlife pass by.
- Weston (6/5): Wonderful game viewing experience at a bit too high a price point - Wonderful game viewing, excellent location Just feel like the lodge was lacking love and was overly Spartan for this price point. Felt more like a hunting lodge with no decorations, no personal touch, and average food more in line with places we have stayed that are half the price.
