- Murph2 (10/5): Thank you for a wonderful stay!! - Wonderful setting in the small Clare Valley wine village of Mintaro. The hosts have done a wonderful job of setting up the cabin (Stables) with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great views and wildlife right outside the stable (half)doors. A fun "Inn" down the street for good food and drink with friendly locals and being awakened when the sun rises to the sounds of wild parrots right outside.
- LEE (10/5): - The communication with the hosts was excellent. They were very responsive and incredibly kind throughout our stay. The communication with the hosts was excellent. They were very responsive and incredibly kind throughout our stay.
However, the check-in experience was quite stressful. When we arrived — later than planned and late night — the key was not in the key lock box as we had been told. The lock box was open and the key was nowhere to be found. We tried to call the hosts but couldn't get through, as we later found out they were overseas at the time.
After a frustrating search late at night, we were on the verge of looking for alternative accommodation when we finally managed to reach the hosts. It turned out the key had been left in the door — the cleaner had not returned it to the lock box after their visit.
Overall, the hosts themselves were wonderful and not entirely at fault, but this check-in situation was quite distressing and worth noting for future guests.

- Gerry (9/5): - We had a great few days at Stables by the Vines. Lovely relaxing spot in the vineyard ideal for a quiet getaway with Clare close by.
- Martin (10/5): Very relaxing and welcoming vibe. Good central base to experience what this area offers. - Breakfast was great. Home made bread, butter and a variety of spreads and cereals. No need to visit the shops. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Really well-located accommodation that allowed us to explore the Clare Valley wineries. - Cosy set-up on the inside; continental breakfast provided, along with a freshly baked loaf of bread. Close to the wineries and to the local pubs where we had lovely vegetarian meals and refreshing beer.
- Claire (10/5): Perfect place to stay in an historic village in the heart of Clare Valley - Totally serene location, beautifully appointed accommodation with everything you require for a comfortable stay. Absolutely loved the fresh baked bread.

- Guest (10/5): A world away from the everyday in the most perfect way -
- Shaun (10/5): Lovely restored place located amongst the vines. - I’ve watched the restoration Australia tv show and the place reminded me a lot of that show. It was really nice use of wood and stone. There are a lot of nice books in there to read. We were given a nice home baked loaf. It’s very quiet location and you can lay on the bed and look out the large window over the vineyard. The owners of the property were very nice people. Only minor the bathroom door would stick. The shower is on the small side and it’s tricky to get the water temperature correct without splashing the floor. Would be nice to have a mixer tap.
- Alex (8/5): - Good location. Bathroom.pokey and dated.
- William (9/5): Beautiful, serene, spacious, comfortable - Beautiful setting including surrounds; well appointed with special touches and extras and super comfortable bed A few mozzies on the first night
- Kendall (10/5): -
- Leanne (8/5): - Beautiful location and accommodation. Host was friendly and even baked some bread for us. Nothing
- Kaye (10/5): Relaxing and endearing. - Beautifully presented, tucked in behind the main property nestled amongst vines and lawned gardens.
- Ken (10/5): - Delightful property, beautifully presented and in a dream setting amongst the vines in a small village. Charming and very helpful hosts.
- Samantha (9/5): -
- Terrie (9/5): Very relaxing overall, and the most amazing location/view across the vinyard - location was perfect, bed was super comfy and continental breakfast was lovely too the door to the bathroom jammed slightly, and the TV reception was poor
- Sharon (10/5): This is such a lovely location with easy access to everything we wanted to explore! - Oozing charm, stunning location, peaceful and gorgeous setting, equipped with essentials Minor detail— lounge seating was uncomfortable
- Richard (9/5): Great village location, pleasant environment, nice pub nearby - Satisfactory Nothing
- Brigitta (10/5): A hidden gem - Instructions were very clear. Andy and Seona had such thoughtful touches on and in the property. We were welcomed with a personalised sign. And inside was a bottle of wine and port. Plus an awesome loaf of bread freshly baked. The bed was so very comfortable. Thank you for such a comfortable stay

- Damien (10/5): Exceptional - The homemade bread was excellent as too was the bottle of wine we received. Great location with awesome pub down the road. Nothing, all was exceptional.
- Jen (7/5): Good -
- Denis (9/5): Superb - lovely little cottage. wifi didn't work.
- Gillian (10/5): Amazing, peaceful and perfect stay! - The Stables is such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We loved how well the accommodation has been renovated to suit the heritage of Mintaro. The surrounding vines and gardens are also amazing. We had warm, fresh bread waiting on our arrival and a bottle of local wine.
- Lynn (9/5): A beautiful and serene location within walking distance of a great country hotel. - A truly lovely, comfortable stay. The furniture and decor items really suited the period of the stables. The grounds were lovely and provided a restful stay. The breakfast provisions were more than adequate. Whilst the kitchen didn't have a cooktop the inclusion of a microwave allowed for the reheating of meals. Unfortunately the size of the bathroom did not allow for a large shower recess but the water pressure was very good.
- Philipa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gallagher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (8/5): A comfortable stay in a beautiful historic location. - The property has a beautiful setting amongst the vines- it was exceptionally hot during our stay so it was much appreciated to have air conditioning in the bedroom- but was noticeably absent in the lounge and kitchen. The breakfast supplies were great and the bottle of wine a nice touch. A little disappointing to pay a cleaning fee and then be asked to strip beds and wash dishes as you depart- we did as requested.
- Skye (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. - What wasn’t there to like about the property? It was beautiful. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grigg (9/5): Superb - Peaceful setting, beautiful location. The bedroom blinds let the sunrise light in, so hard to sleep in. Very minor problem as everything else was excellent.
- Anne (9/5): Tranquil amongst the vineyard and gums - Lovely stay at the Stables. Well thought through, lovely touches with the after dinner port, home baked bread and breakfast options. Enjoyed reading the history and seeing historical references to the stables throughout.
Thanks Seona we felt right at home.
- Paul (10/5): Paradise - The owners Andy and Seona are extremely helpfull. The cottage is beautiful situated with a view at the wineyard and an easy stroll to Reillys. All in all a very nice place to discover the Clare Valley.
- Kim (10/5): Gorgeous little town, perfect accomodation, beautiful area close to everything - The stables are amazing, gardens incredible. Nothing ! Just wish we’d stayed longer
- Kurt (8/5): Great friendly hosts that were always available to make my stay enjoyable. - There was freshly made hot bread which I enjoyed and eggs, tea, coffee and juice. The shower head is too high making it difficult to adjust the temperature without being under the water.
- Janine (9/5): Great little place for a weekend escape. Thankyou - Very comfy bed. The Stable had everything we needed for our stay. Access to the main garden and veranda was a bonus. Very well-maintained and welcoming. The shower alcove was a little small but to be expected as it was a small space.
- Sally (7/5): Good -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (10/5): Cosy and comfortable stay in the Clare valley - Everything! Great hosts, lovely accommodation, good location to rest of the valley WiFi was weak but I think that is the case in the whole town
- Keith (8/5): Very good - Lovely stone cottage. Beautiful gardens to sit with a wine!
- Roslynjs (9/5): Delightful, relaxing spot - Helpful hosts communicated very well before & during our 3N stay.
Beautiful surrounds, quiet location, cosy & compact, great refurbishment, well-equipped kitchen, comfy bed, hot shower.
Décor included woodwork artifacts (which husband found v. interesting). Ample continental breakfast foods. Minor: - Driving from the north with GPS, quite hard to find entrance in the dark due to minimal signage.
- Supplied French-press plungers but no ground coffee that my husband could see, coffee pods in a drawer but no pod machine
- Booked while I was fit & able-bodied, but was confined to a wheelchair for our stay - steps & bifold doors not wheelchair friendly ... Clare Hospital staff were excellent
- Tracey (9/5): A beautiful stay in the charming town of Mintaro - The property was beautiful. So close to the Main Street of Mintaro but it also felt like you were in your own little part of the world. The stone cottage had everything we needed. The thoughtful touches of a local bottle of wine, rocky road chocolate and a candle were lovely. Seona and Andy were great hosts and were there should we have needed anything, N/A
- Zach (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was comfortable and the facilities were nice :) it was lovely and clean and easy to locate. The warmth was good and the morning sun was beautiful. The lounge chairs were a little tricky to get out of, but not a deal breaker.
- Makiko (10/5): Exceptional - We recently stayed at this charming accommodation and had a delightful experience. The scenery was breathtaking, with lush vineyards and the soothing sounds of birds creating a peaceful atmosphere. The sight of rabbits running through the vineyards added a touch of magic to our mornings.
The town itself is incredibly pretty, and we loved how close we were to a local pub and a wine cellar, making it easy to enjoy some of the region’s finest offerings.
Overall, this place provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you’re looking for serenity and a touch of nature, this is the place to be.
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Kellie (10/5): We will be back for sure, and will definitely recommend to friends - Beautiful and peaceful location
- Anthony (10/5): Excellent - Exceptionally provisioned with great bed sheets as well.Lovely bottle of Barbera and fresh bread provided also. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Memorable cottage to stay in.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was great, well presented and had everything you required. The bed was comfortable and had lovely linen
A lovely spot for a getaway.
- John (10/5): Perfect spot in Mintaro - A charming crazy comfortable and lovingly restored stable, walls festooned with fine paintings, books and memorabilia; with fresh bread, bottle of wine and other goodies; on a property with extensive treed surrounds and adjacent to Reilly’s (excellent) winery and the Magpie & Stump hotel. Sounds perfect? Well it was! We hope to come back one day.
- Leigh (10/5): Stables a must. - Lovely town, stables and hosts.🙂 Nil.
- Kelly (10/5): Fabulous, unique and a must stay! - Stables turned into a boutique self contained flat is just perfect. The attention to detail was incredible- artifacts and paintings adorn the walls, super comfortable bed, shower was hot and pressure great, kitchenette stocked with plenty of goodies was fantastic. The delivery of fresh homemade bread was the icing on top- so good! The gardens were just fantastic, walking through the vineyard to Reilly for wine tasting in the afternoon and coffee in the morning was great! Our hosts were lovely and we can’t wait to return. Mintaro township was a delightful surprise - not what we expected (we just liked the idea of the accomodation from the pix!) and spent more time wandering the heritage listed village than we thought we would. Loved the chat with local ‘Smithy! A fabulous place to stay. Nothing - it was just perfect!
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Judd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional - My wife and I really enjoyed our long weekend stay at the stables.
Beautiful and clean, very comfortable bed with really lush bedding
The setting was amazing, so relaxing and peaceful, host were very kind.
We want to revisit again soon. Not much we didn't like, maybe not too keen on the rainfall shower and the handle back of the headboard, but this only tiny details.
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Great setting and well-equiped cottage. Sitting outdoors watching the bird life a bonus. Loved staying here.
- Colleen (10/5): Two nights isn’t long enough to enjoy all that is Stables by the Vines. - Gorgeous accommodation nestled in a beautiful location. Seona was a super helpful and friendly host.
- Yahkira (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little place, the unit was well set out and the hosts thought of the smallest details. Will definitely be back as we loved the strolls through the vineyards and property. Seona and Andy were very welcoming. 11/10 reccomend if you want an intimate and relaxing stay.
- Sue (10/5): Loved It!! - This was amazing accommodation, every photo you see of the place truly reflects The Stables, its quirky, its quaint, its gorgeous. A trip to the Pub via the vines was wonderful and the little rabbits running around were a delight.
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - The place was beautiful
Seona and Andy the loveliest host's
So nice we didn't want to leave
- Jacqueline (9/5): Loved it - Beautifully renovated stone stables Shower is very small and awkward
- Miria (10/5): Exceptional - Mintaro is a charming town reeking with history and Stables by the Vines is one of these places. A short stroll through the Vines to dinner.Andy and Seona are a warm welcoming hosts.
- Aidan (10/5): Unforgettable. - The effort Andy and Soana put into renovating and presenting/decorating the stables is unbelievable. From driving through the front gate and seeing the gardens and property, we knew this was going to be an unforgettable weekend. Thank you so much for letting us experience the beautiful town of Mintaro and surrounding Clare Valley.
- Karen (10/5): Thank you for your amazing hospitality! - Beautifully appointed accommodation and excellent location and outlook. Everything was within easy walking distance. A very cute historical township. Nothing.
