• Lina (10/5): It was the best hostel in Sydney - I honestly liked everything about it. The staff was really helpful with everything and very friendly. There was something going on on everyday which I personally really liked. There was free food a few times a week and then also free alcohol and party’s where we also went to different things after, really enjoyed it. The hostel itself is also really nice and cozy, the location is perfect, right next to the train station and you can reach everything you need in a few minutes. It also gets cleaned a few times a day, so no problems with that either. I had a really great stay and would definitely recommend it! Everything was good. Nothing bad hat I could say.

The pillows could use some - Location I was aware it was not airconditioned, but the screen window was bolted shut and our room was very warm as in the afternoon, the sun directly hits our room full blast. And it was very humid at night.

The whole place was so warm the whole time and fans didn’t help. Also, why is the reason behind leaving windows wide open during nightime in a bohemian suburb?

• Gisselle (9/5): - 2nd time, I decided to stay at Mad Monkey in the Kings Cross area. Excellent location, all you can expect from a hostel. Bathroom in the 4th floor didn't have hot water! It was a hot day anyway, but if you want hot water, go to the other floors. The price was a bit high because of the Mardi Gras and the Bad Bunny concert.
• Constanze (4/5): not suitable for sleeping, noisy - it was easy to reach by public transport it was very noisy all night long from the prostitutes and homeless people on the streets, the fan in the room was squeaky, the main lights in the room were on past 10pm, a teenager vomited all over the hallway and into one of the three bathrooms, the free breakfast was nowhere to be seen

• Indira (9/5): Tolle Mitarbeiter, toller Aufenthalt - Die Mitarbeiter sind wirklich super, super freundlich und versuchen alles damit man sich wohlfühlt und versuchen jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Besonders Owen war an der Rezeption wirklich sehr toll und ist ein sehr aufmerksamer Mensch. Immer sind Mitarbeiter am aufräumen und putzen. Man merkt dass sich alle sehr viel Mühe geben :))

I hope the British guy gets a raise! - Felt really welcomed and comfortable with the British gentleman working, maybe the German girl was just having a bad day but she was pretty standoffish. Super Young vibe, not the most social. Saw a couple of cockroaches.
• ANDREA (8/5): - The hostel team was great, professional, kind and helpful. They started a lot of activities to create a good vibe, thank you! They all put a lot of effort in keeping the common areas and facilities cleaned and tidy, which was pretty hard considering the huge amount of guests and the condition of the hostel. Good central location. The facilities and the hostel in general look pretty old and may require some maintenance and renewal.

The bedrooms and facilities are great; everything you need is available. The staff are fantastic — all very friendly and kind.

Great staff (very helpful) and events going on every night. It was international food night when I stayed and it was really good, also the atmosphere was super friendly and made it easy to meet new people. The room was nice. Clean and confortable, the common areas were big and they had a few which made it possible to move around depending on the mood. I felt safe and taken care of, i’ll be back for sure.

La limpieza brilla por su ausencia, especialmente en la cocina, daba asco cocinar ahí, los baños son mixtos y hay un montón de escaleras lo que es horrible si llevas maletas.

• Elisa (7/5): Good for partying - It would be a perfect hostel for partying, the location is close to the centre, nice surroundings, the staff is friendly, very clean for a shared accommodation. Impossible to get even 2h of sleep during the weekend. Party-goers going in and out of the rooms, laughing and chatting behind doors, general drunken confusion. Last "roommate" got home at 5:30, then it got quieter.

There's a baggage room to leave your things before and after your stay. The place is not as chaotic as I expected it to be. People seemed to respect each other's privacy. They advertised FREE LAUNDRY but didn't let us avail it. Kitchen was closed during midnight, not very convenient for someone who has to wake up at midnight for work.

• Pilar (1/5): - My experience at this hostel ended up being very negative due to a serious situation that was handled in an unprofessional manner. A guest reported to reception that he had left some of his belongings somewhere else and believed they were in my space. However, those items were not mine, and when I tried to explain this, the guest came to the room, insulted me, acted aggressively, and even made inappropriate gestures toward me. I felt completely disrespected and unsafe. I immediately reported the situation to reception, and I have everything documented by email. However, I received no apology, no support, and absolutely no compensation for what happened. It was as if the situation was ignored entirely. I find it extremely serious that an incident involving aggression toward a female guest was not addressed properly by the staff. This made me feel unsafe and deeply disappointed, especially after I had initially felt welcomed here. I had even left a positive review before this happened — which I now deeply regret. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hostel. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel protected, heard, and treated with respect, this is not it. What I didn’t like was that no solution was offered, nor any compensation, despite the mistreatment I received from someone working at the hostel. There was no empathy or concern for my safety.

The beds are also very comfy Other guests didn’t wash all of their pots & pans so the kitchen was a little bit messy at times, that isn’t the fault of the hostel but of the guests.

The hostel hosts nightly events, including a couple free dinners which I haven’t seen at a hostel before! The location was amazing just across the street from the train station and bus stops. There’s also a lot of restaurants and shops nearby for convenience. I would recommend staying at this property!
