The location was a bit far from downtown but easy navigation with public transport, it also made me feel like a local.
• Cecilia (10/5): A very quiet, homey place to stay!! - The hosts are wonderful. Making sure you were most comfortable and happy. The kitchen and living room have a lot of windows making it very honey. Lots of room in the bedroom where I was with a nice big window. Quiet for a great sleep at night It's quite a ways from downtown but there are amenaties very close by within walking distance. If you want to be close to downtown area and have no vehicle then this might not be the option. However there is a bus stop right outside the door which made it so much easier for travel.

The host was very attentive and made sure everything was in perfect order during my stay. You can really tell the care and dedication, which made me feel at home. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place. The only thing to note is that the kitchen could use some more cooking utensils, as some of the pans are quite old. However, if you’re staying for a short time or don’t plan to cook much, this won’t be an issue.

• Nancy (8/5): I’d do it again. I didn’t take any pictures but the ones on the ad are 100% accurate. 😀 - It was in a great neighborhood that isn’t far from where I live. I stayed there to get away from a persistent noise in my building that needs repairing. The only thing that comes to mind is that it was a bit chilly and I didn’t see the thermostat. And the door was a bit tricky. I went to 7-11 and getting back inside was a bit of a fight. But I got back inside.

• Aine (10/5): Exceptional - Helena kindly offered me an upgrade, in order to facilitate another guest who had some unforeseen circumstances. The upgrade I was offered was beyond beautiful- super clean, spacious and in a very quiet neighbourhood. It was about a 30 minute walk to the train station or a bus just around the corner. Helena was very responsive and would have loved to stay in her place longer than the 2 days!

They do charge $5 for a towel but I think it’s because of Covid, so make sure to bring cash with you. The location is easy for public transport and close to the C Train. It was slightly far away from the Stampede, which is where we were going.

The apartment itself was cozy, clean, and welcoming, and I immediately felt at home. It’s rare to find a place that combines comfort and convenience so well, but this one definitely did. Helena was a fantastic host—attentive, kind, and always ready to help. She went out of her way to make sure my trip was comfortable, and her hospitality truly made a difference. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! If I’m ever back in the area, I’d love to stay here again. Recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming place to stay. Thank you, Helena!
• Iryna (5/5): Passable - Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The bus stop is nearby. There is a terrace where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee. Just a 2-minute drive or a 9-minute walk away, there's a great little restaurant called Al's Pizza — the food is delicious, and the portions are huge. We booked a room for 2 nights ($208) around noon. (The reservation was non-refundable.) After booking, we received a message from the host asking what time we would be arriving and whether we needed towels — $5 per set. We were quite surprised by the additional charge for towels, so we declined and bought our own towels at a supermarket. We informed her that we would arrive around 5 p.m. (The listing stated check-in was available from 3 p.m.), but she responded that same-day bookings have check-in starting at 6 p.m. This information must be shown clearly on the booking page — not told afterward. In our case, we had a car and could find something to do in the meantime. But if someone arrives by plane, it’s unacceptable to learn last-minute that the host is postponing check-in by 3 hours. She also wrote that we had to pay an additional $100 security deposit in case of any damage. I understand that many hotels require this, but again — it should be stated in the listing, not after the reservation is completed. However, the host immediately offered a way out: she said she wouldn’t charge the deposit because she “trusted” us — but in return, she asked us to leave a good review and rate the stay 10/10. Now I understand why the property has such a high rating that it doesn’t actually deserve. We booked a room for two people with a shared bathroom. The room was extremely small. Two adults with two small suitcases barely fit. Honestly, it felt more like a single room. Maybe the other rooms are larger, but ours definitely wasn’t. We spent very little time in the house, only coming back to sleep. Even so, we felt like we were staying in a tiny box. The soundproofing in the house was terrible — we could hear every step and word from our neighbors. The worst part happened on the day of our check-out. We had a bag with some food: tea, coffee, sugar, nuts, cookies, crackers, a thermos, cutlery — just a basic travel set.

There are loads of facilities in the kitchen to use which is perfect. The property is also in a really good place right next to the bus stop, or you can walk to the shops if you want to. There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about the stay. One thing I would say is that it is $5 dollars to rent a towel which I didn’t realise when I first booked. So if you want to use a towel take some cash with you to leave in the room.

Half used toilet roll, bathroom smelt like fish.

Overall, it worked. In the shared bathroom & kitchen, the other guests did not clean up after themselves, there was a bunch of hair left behind. At no fault of the host, as it's the guests responsibility in this case, as per house rules & policy. The place had a distinctive elderly scent which isn't entirely pleasant but should dissipate with air freshener.

• Bojan (10/5): Great hospitality. When an issue arose, Helen was quick to fix and assure comfort. - That the garden, interior arrangement, decoration, and the unit are new, was very pleasing. We had all the privacy we needed, with a private bathroom, and a quiet room where it was easy to oversleep. There seemed to have been food left behind in the kitchen (common area) by the previous guests, that was ready to be thrown out.
