Guest Reviews
- Debra (1/5): BEWARE! Possible scam. Never stayed. Host told me cancelled and tried to get me to do cancellation - I am worried this is a total scam. I booked the location. Shortly before my departure they notified me that it was no longer available and I could rent an apartment from them. When I asked for information about apartment andc osts, they never answered. They told me. I could cancel-- had I cancelled I would have lost all my money. I told them to cancel so I could get my refund. They continued to communicate with me as if I went there, butit appeared to be automatic emails and no one ever answered. I contacted booking.com and they looked into situation and refuned all my money. NO ONE has ever addressed if this is a real listing , or a scam.
- Karen (7/5): We had a comfortable stay in a great neighborhood. Would have been more fun with a working television and a more equippe - The location was great, and street parking was usually easy and free. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the soap that was provided. We didn’t have a remote for the TV. When we asked about it, no solution was offered.
The kitchen contained two sauce pans, two frying pans, one square glass casserole and one pizza pan. There were no mixing bowls. There were only two soup bowls. There was no vegetable peeler. It was strange.
Instruction for check-in came only after I asked on the day we arrived. The next day I received an automated message about how to check in. That was 24 hours after our stay started.
- Brooke (10/5): Would stay again - Great place! Easy check in
- Jason (8/5): - Great location, great price, great service. No cleaning products to clean kitchen after use, no dishwasher tablets, no TV remote.
- Catherine (8/5): We only stay here when in LA and really like it. It’s a quirky, vintage kind of place that suits us. Owner has always h - This was our 4th stay at this townhouse. We will only stay here and like it. Location near The Grove and museum is excellent. Quiet, safe area. Two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Great little kitchen with gas cooker, oven and kitchenware. Coffee plunger etc. Access to rear communal garden is awesome. There is no washing machine/dryer . Fly screens have come off windows. Louvre blinds are broken. No AC upstairs is hot in summer but there are ceiling fans. I find the memory foam mattress hot to sleep on and very hard. The TV remote was nowhere to be found this stay.
Overall we love this place but it needs a bit of TLC repair.
- India (1/5): Do not stay here! Unhelpful host and unusable facilities at the property. - No idea what the hotel was like because we were unable to stay here without a toilet or shower accessible. The bathroom door was chipping around the lock and broken from people trying to break it down, which shows this isn’t the first time a guest has been locked out of this bathroom! Don’t risk it! The antique door handle/lock on the only bathroom automatically locked when it was shut, so we were locked out of the bathroom for our entire 4 day stay. Host was unhelpful and didn’t fix it, so we had to book another hotel and stay there the entire time. Host stopped replying to all our messages and refuses to refund us even though we never spent one single night at their property 🙃 Go to the Wilshire crest family owned hotel instead, they were super friendly!
- Marsi (8/5): Overall I would recommend this property, just brush upon your parallel parking skills:) - The beds were really comfortable, and everything was very clean. The parking situation was a little stressful.
- Marie-louise (7/5): Location hard to beat and spacious - The location was excellent as across the road from LACMA and 30-40 minutes to LAX. The beds were very comfortable and good sized living area. There's ceiling fans in all rooms. While facing main road there was limited noise once inside. This is an older style townhouse part of historic La Brea Park and has views into a quiet shared garden space. It's great accommodation for a couple of nights as more spacious than a hotel and more facilities e.g. kitchen and dining area. Kitchen cutlery, plates and other things like salad bowl and wine glasses very limited. No washing machine as described in FAQ. No iron or board. Basic bathroom. No access to outdoor area or seating as described. Price may reflect the basic set up offered.
- Jordan (8/5): Good for value but not a private backyard. - In town on work very convenient location Did not care for the shared backyard space.
- Morah (9/5): Superb -
- Lara (10/5): Exceptional -
