Guest Reviews
- Katrin (8/5): Location was beautiful. View was stunning. House was clean and tidy. Nice large living areas. - Location was beautiful. House was clean and tidy. Nice large living areas.
- Seyed Amin (10/5): - View was absolutely fantastic.
- Ian (9/5): Beautiful scenery, and house was very clean with nice furnishings and linen, and yard tidy. - Location was excellent. View was magnificent. Close to Maleny and tourist attractions that interested us. Hand rails required on steps from verandah into yard, garage into house, and showers.
Some clear glass required on some windows in other 3 bedrooms.
Keypad into house from garage was difficult the first use, for seniors. (didn't know how to light up keypad)
Smart fridge was also difficult to use for a senior. (We had to throw out our frozen items, as they defrosted,)
- Amie (10/5): - This is a fabulous home, excellent location great cleanliness and superb communications with the property manager.
The view is exceptional and the local towns nearby are a fun way to explore the area
- Derek (8/5): Very quiet and comfortable. - Some live and dead insects (moths, flying ants, cockroaches) in house.

- Ingrid (10/5): We stayed for 4 nights with our friends from Europe to stay near the Glass House Mountains. Well, we were all so impress - We loved everything about the property! A lovely, spacious, comfortable, well equipped house and of course THOSE VIEWS!!! It’s in a great location in reference to Maleny and Montville and there are a few nice restaurants close by. Beautiful walks, national parks to explore….Communication re check in and check out procedures was excellent. Nothing to dislike!
- Sally (10/5): The perfect house with amazing views and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - It was perfect and breathtaking views Nothing it was all wonderful
- Tracey (10/5): A perfect location with great facilities that catered for all our needs - Fantastic location and facilities! Looking forward to our next stay.
- Hoda (5/5): Nice view, but the beds were awful, entertainment options are limited - The house is spacious and has amazing views. The well-equipped kitchen includes a blender, which was a welcome addition. However, while a coffee machine was provided, it unfortunately didn't function properly (milk frother malfunctioning), and there were no coffee beans provided.
The provided toiletries were high-quality, non-toxic, and locally sourced. The double beds in the master bedroom and second bedroom were quite uncomfortable. The mattresses were very old, yellowed, and unusable. After the first night, we experienced significant aches and itching; upon removing the sheets, we discovered an ant colony throughout the bed base and mattress. One of my sons also suffered a sting on his back during sleep, though the cause remains unclear.
Regarding the master bedroom, while the mattress condition is a concern, the bed size is also inadequate for a house of this size, given the price paid and the room size. A king-size bed would be more appropriate for the room's dimensions.
The house is spacious, but the furnishings could be hugely improved. The living room sofa is a bit small for five people, the master bedroom bed is somewhat small, and the master bedroom sofa unfortunately obstructs the window view from the bed. Additionally, the artwork could be more appealing, especially in the master bedroom.
The playroom caters only to young children, neglecting older children. For the price, additional entertainment options for older children, such as books, a table tennis table, or games, would have been a welcome addition. The limited TV channels options in the playroom also reduced its appeal to my teenage sons ( free channels only , cannot connect to Netflix, etc)
The house offers fantastic views; however, the addition of a hammock or sun loungers would have significantly improved the outdoor experience and made longer stays more pleasant.
The house was generally clean, but the kitchen cupboards were not , as we discovered a dead cockroach in one cupboard upon arrival.
The standard check-in time is 3 PM. Early check-in is available from 12 PM for a $50 charge, requiring 48 hours' notice.
Our seven-day stay felt rather long; I believe four nights would have been sufficient and I would not recommend longer stay unless further improvements to the house furniture been carried out
- Joshua (10/5): Designer family home to showcase the hinterland in comfort - It felt like home, had a fantastic view and was well stocked in the kitchen and amenities. Room configuration was spread out well. The kids room/toy room was a nice touch although not used by our party. The whole house was decorated tastefully and was super comfortable. Fantastic property to showcase the hinterland. Great location. The only thing we didn’t like was the patio area being quite damp, however this is due to weather and is not a fault of the house.
- John (7/5): Good - Hillside House has a very pleasant outlook over the Glasshouse Mountains. It is spacious, with good kitchen facilities and caters well for children with multiple games and toys in a separate room. There were three bathrooms for three bedrooms (though only one is an ensuite), and plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen facilities were good and a washing machine and drier were welcome. There were detailed instructions for most things likely to be encountered, although we found the oven and dishwasher a little quirky, and ploughing through the lengthy manufacturer's manual for hints on operation of each took a little time. There was plenty of space for a good quality king bed in the master bedroom, but only a queen bed was provided and we found it uncomfortable. The house has been renovated and retains old-style windows, with no screens. We wanted to avoid using the air-conditioning, which had varying temperatures in different parts of the house, but were reluctant to open the windows because of the flies and mosquitoes that entered when we tried that. The home is managed by a company, and the messaging from them was a little formal and prescriptive - e.g we received the arrival instructions multiple times, both before and during our stay, and the house could not be accessed even a couple of minutes before the official check-in time unless an additional $50 fee had been paid 48 hours before arrival. The welcome seemed a little more like a "commercial transaction" than many other homes we have stayed in which are hosted by individuals. However, the phone was answered and assistance offered when we enquired about there being none of the advertised coffee and when the power supply had been cut in the area. There were some nails protruding slightly from floorboards in places.
- Warren (10/5): Wish I had longer - Everything, the House, the Location and the View were all great, will definitely stay again next trip to the Sunshine Coast. Turning into the property coming from Maleny is over a crest so you need to be aware of following traffic, Otherwise Nothing
- Roxanne (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (7/5): Fantastic views, cleanliness not up to scratch - 10/10 for the location. The views are exactly as we expected - this is what sold us on the property to begin with. It has plenty of space for the kids to run around outside, kick a ball, fly a kite and throw a plane. We spent much of our time outside. Loved the addition of the fire pit outside. Tv has Netflix for the littles and they have a selection of books and games too in the media room which we thought was a great touch. Also comes with a highchair and a porta cot which saved us having to bring our own. Location is good - only a few minutes drive to Maleny and a 15 minute drive to Montville. Bring your own firewood if you would to make use of the fireplace outside! Sadly the cleanliness of the place really let us down - we opened the door to find 5 dead cockroaches on the wooden floor and some on the carpet. There is also a leak somewhere in the roof so a large mold patch above the living room on the ceiling. Skirting board and walls were really dirty, there was hair on the shower screens and floor in two of the bathrooms and someone's contact lens on the bench. A lot of the kitchen utensils were dirty or oily, dirty windows etc. The mattresses are very old and stained also in the two bedrooms with double beds (which we only noticed as the sheets weren't fitted properly and slid off on the first night). Cleanliness in general just wasn't up to par for the price you pay per night. If this is something that is rectified, the overall experience would have been fantastic.
- Anthony (10/5): Luxury and setting combined to make fantastic break. - The location is stunning, the views over the Glass House Mountains are exquisite. Even without the setting, the property itself is so well set up with every conceivable facility catered for. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed the high quality set-up and tranquility. There is nothing to fault this excellent property.
