- WALTER (10/5): -

- ALEXANDRE (9/5): SUPERBE ALLEZ Y .... - ENDROIT MAGNIFIQUE, REPOSANT, LOGEMENT TRES BIEN AMENAGE ET PENSE, Rien tout est parfait
- Gregor (10/5): Very nice staff and clean jungle property !! -
- Heather (10/5): Beautiful - The whole property was so beautiful and the accommodations very unique and comfortable. Pool was so nice and the perfect temperature. The parking and resort was very well secured. Breakfast was delicious You do need a car otherwise it’s a long walk to town/beach. There’s nothing that I can stay that I didn’t like however

Rien.
- Angela (10/5): - Very beautiful property and friendly staff. So much construction surrounding the property which is everywhere in Playa Grande. Can't blame them for that.
- Jordan (10/5): -
- Cliff (10/5): Glamping is the way to stay in Costa Rica! - The breakfast was very affordable & typical Costa Rican fare.
Loved the central kitchen for us to use.
The open shower, bath sink, sitting areas, etc in our casa 9 were very private & roomy.
Always someone available for questions or needs.
Laundry service was fast & resembly priced.
The grounds for all of the casas was very nicely kept. Unfortunately area is becoming more touristy quite rapidly & there was construction going on around us. So often loud in mornings.
- Flora (10/5): This is real pura vida - One of the most amazing place in Costa Rica,
Thanks to the wonderful Sophie and for the Staff.
This is a real Pura Vida, i can recommend it to everyone, who wants to calm down and feel nature.
The outside shower was our highlight.
- Adeline (9/5): Magnifique !

Nous reviendrons surement - Beautiful pool, great setting overall, and comfortable hammocks, and bikes!! Not much info provided about Playa Grande
- Juan esteban (10/5): -
- marcie (8/5): - The pool was very nice and the tent. The outdoor shower was nice just could use a little more privacy for a family. The atmosphere was very relaxing and felt safe.
- Micha Din (9/5): -
- veronique (8/5): Beautiful oasis by the most stunning beach - Sophie the French owner created a beautiful garden with lovely cabanas. It was peaceful and idyllic. Breakfast was very nice. Pool was lovely. She upgraded us which was very kind. The outdoor bathroom was very romantic. The most beautiful beach Playa Grande was 5 mins by car. We also loved playa conchal in the morning 20.mins away. Lolas cafe was great too about 1 hour away.
She gave us good advice. We saw monkeys play by the pool up on the trees which was magical. Loved it. Nothing.
- Justina (9/5): Superb - Very relaxing and nice atmosphere. Helpful and nice host.
- Nicolas (8/5): Very good -
- Ignacio (10/5): Bohemian experience - I can’t recommend this property enough. We stayed in the Casita 3 nights and we adored it. We booked the Playa Grande Mangrove Canals Tour with them and it ended up being magical, a little bit pricey but it was a unique experience. All the staff was very friendly to us, I personally had a couple of interesting talks about the area and the country with the owner and enjoyed it a lot. We felt very safe at all times but the outdoor shower can be more private for sure, like there’s not enough natural fencing. I believe having more bushes may reduce the possibility of someone looking at you naked but we really didn’t care. Also, we tried the breakfast for just one day and liked it despite it being very basic and expensive. In conclusion, we loved how beautiful the property is, the bohemian vibe and the casita.
- Martin (9/5): Awesome little oases - The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The pool is super refreshing after a hot day.
And make sure to ask Diego about surf lessons, he had us two newbies standing and riding waves in no time. .
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - It is one of those places where you can't point a single thing wrong.
It's a perfect combination between nature and modern sustainable comfort. From the cabana to the outdoor shower, the experience is simply breathtaking.
One morning, while we were heading out for breakfast, we had some monkeys in the trees right above us. And they also have a cat named Bagheera. If I could leave a suggestion, despite having the doors and windows with mosquito nets, I would wrap the rooms's floors and corners with mosquito nets as well. We were visited by some bugs and ants. Someone more sensible might feel bothered.
- Eleonore (10/5): Exceptional - Very tranquil place close to the beach
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, great staff, everything exceeded expectations - The property was beautiful, the room was well clean, the pictures don't give this place Justice. I was worried about laying in the hammock because I worry about getting dust and itching but it was clean also and I had no issues. The howler monkeys getting so close was really cool. Nothing.
- Paige (10/5): Oasis next to the beach - I’ve been to 27 countries in my life and this is my (and my husbands) most favorite place we’ve ever been. You feel like you’re in an oasis, the breakfast is made with love, the staff are helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone and everyone visiting the area. Very minor detail but the bikes could be upgraded, plenty okay to take them to the beach and back though :)
- Georg (8/5): Very good - breakfast was very good, the areal is a true green oasis Internet, no small snacks and drinks to purchase
- Pjoppen (10/5): Exceptional - Very relaxing. We liked the wooden structure, outdoor shower. Nice breakfast. Very nice staff. Short distance to beach. Several nice restaurant at short distance. Highly recommended.9 The road to the hotel is a bit challenging, like everywhere in CR when you go off the beaten path.
- Petra (9/5): Super charming accomodations in beautiful gardens, cozy kitchen/ bar area, free coffee, lovely staff! - Charming accommodations, lovely gardens, free coffee, kitchen available for use, very close to the beach. We also spent 2 nights in a casita, so both the tents on platforms and the casita were great!!
We loved it here, would love to come back and will definitely recommend to our friends!! Thank you for a memorable stay :)
- Will (8/5): Very good - Really nice hideaway in nature, nice pool, friendly staff, good privacy, convenient bike share A bit far from the beach, expensive for glamping
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Markus (10/5): Exceptional - The location is absolutely perfect, offering breathtaking nature and a beautiful garden & pool area.
The breakfast was very good with a variety of delicious options to start the day right. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the glamping tent. It was uniquely beautiful, providing a perfect blend of comfort and nature.
Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and we highly recommend Flor y Bambu to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.
- Lori (10/5): Exceptional - AMAZING!!! Will not disappoint!!! The place is so beautiful! My entire stay soared above and beyond any expectation. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Karina and the staff were so hospitable. They treated me like family... not just a guest. The morning breakfast was so fresh and delicious. The fresh fruit, fresh juice and home made yogurt is so delicious. Such a value for the price. There are so many things to do and excursions you can book through the property. I also was able to meet the owner, Sophie. She was incredible. She made me feel very welcome and treated me like a valued as a guest at her place even though it was the first time she ever met me. I will always stay here for any future visits to Costa Rica.
- Soan (8/5): Unique stay at Glamping hotel Flor y Bambu, loved it. - I was a little apprehensive at first, to sleep in a tent in the tropics with all mosquitos etc but I experienced no issue at all. The tents were clean, a fan was running to keep temperature under control and keep mosquitos away. In fact, I did not experience any mosquitos at all, even not while sitting around the lovely pool or central areas. The garden allows for lot’s of privacy. I also liked the open air shower behind each tent. Breakfast was relatively simple, but happy that the cook even showed up because I was the only guest for 2 nights. :-). The tents were also provided with facilities like a fridge to store cold drinks in and other perishables. I Liked the call of the monkey’s early morning.
Playa Grande is definitely a much more quieter area than Tamarindo’s beach (much more entertainment there), so if you came to find a quiet place; this is the beach where you would want to stay. The road leading to the property is a little off the main road, approx 500m, with lot’s of potholes. Could use some backfilling from time to time.
The hotel could provide for all-day coffee/ tea instead of only during breakfast.
- Traci (9/5): Superb - Stunning grounds and comfortable beds. 1000% charming. Really refreshing pool. Super clean. Easy access to the beach, especially with a car. We did go on foot once as well, and this is totally feasible. Juan the gardener and Sophie the owner were lovely. My daughter can't stop talkng about Begeiro, the resident cat. Inconsistent wifi and uncomfortable sleeping at times due to heat and mosquitos. If glamping during hot and rainy "winter" season, there will be more mosquitos. It wasn't the best place for a working vacation, but forced relaxation wasn't a bad thing!
- Wang (10/5): Most spiritual hotel I’ve ever been! Such unique experience! - Amazing!!!!Most spiritual hotel I’ve ever been! Such unique experience!
- J (9/5): Superb -
- Merkwan (10/5): exceeded expectations - Everything was more than lovely. Best place to stay on the Guanacaste coast. So beautiful and refreshing. Very private huts with outdoor showers, clean stylish space, stunning landscape and monkeys in the trees. Sophie is very kind and has created a beautiful experience for her guests. 10/10.
- Thomas (5/5): Good experience apart from ants invasion - Great staff, good location, pool, the atmosphere, the kitchen, the hamac Expensive for the experience we had.
Large ants invasion in all the tent including the bed and toilet during 3 days (It begins during toilet times, a little bit traumatic for my wife...).
We needed to change tent location every nights with the support of the staff. It was regretful that the owner was not so helpful (not even an excuse nor offering compensation).
- Stéphane (10/5): Lovely place to stay and relax. - The room was amazing - open to the nature.
The hotel garden is beautiful, lot of plants, flowers, bee hives, even got the visit of animals like monkeys.
Peaceful swimming pool to relax.
Good breakfast.
Welcoming hosts. Nothing.
- Stephanie (10/5): One of the most relaxed and tranquil safe holidays we have ever had! - Everything! We loved the beautiful garden , kitchen and the Glamping tents were great. Nothing !
- Amanda (10/5): Highly recommend - Beautiful spot The breakfast was a little bland
- Zuzana (10/5): Just amazing - Everything was just perfect. Beautiful cottages, enormous comfy beds, delicious breakfast and great staff. Also our kids loved it. Wish we could stay longer... Nothing.
- Dr (9/5): Superb - Hearing the local birds and animals first thing in the morning is lovely. This location is reasonably close to many beautiful beaches, including Playa Carbon which was tipped off to us by friendly staff. I highly recommend this location for a comfortable stay.
- Dion (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margo (9/5): Superb -
- Kristjan (9/5): Superb - First, Sophie is a great host, who gives plenty of useful tips (like, where to park when you go to the beach etc).
The whole place is in excellent condition, mini jungle, colorful, yet "organized." We came there because we read there are monkeys around. And they are, little black beautis. During the night you can hear howler monkeys, which was awesome, for us, city folk.
We had a apt. 5, for 4 people. There was enough space, equipment is basic,.but nice and has everything you need for 2-4 nights. Mosquito nets were on windows and windows could be opened.
The beach is 5 min drive away. You may even go with bycicle but make sure you are back during the day time. Later could be problematic, with no lights and traffic.
We didnt use pool (were on the beach) but it looked nice.
Would recommend staying for a few nights. You need a car as mobility is the key. The real super market is in nearby town (5km away) so either bring some.food with you or face not that cheap restaurants. The one close to the premises is useless.l (chips, alco).
- Jeff (10/5): Relaxing and friendly. - Beautiful scenery and landscaping. Private and had all we needed for our stay.
- Frederik (9/5): Jungle feeling with a quiet tent in a busy neighbourhood. Perfect! - What a place! You don’t feel you’re in a busy neighbourhood. It just feels like a small cute jungle paradise! With a great owner! Thanks a lot 😍 Everything perfect.
- Thamara (10/5): Awesome for one day! - It was the first time experiencing a place like this, and it was a very nice experience! The location is very close to restaurants and Playa Grande, although it is true, the entrance is sandy so it is recommended to be careful. But the place was very quiet, the gampling comfortable and with what we needed. The breakfast is totally worth it. There was a cat, and we are a fan of them, so it was very nice to see.
And it should be noted that we forgot a hat and Antoine reminded us, he was very kind. N/A
- Kayte (10/5): Exceptional - Outdoor shower was amazing! Huts are gorgeous and amazing attention to detail. Nicest place we have ever stayed the gardens around it are beautiful and photos don’t do it justice. Hosts Sophie and Antoine are so great and friendly! Antoine was a legend. Monkeys all
Over the gardens. Nothing
- Luca (10/5): Amazing stay - Amazing structure that made us feel like we were in a jungle.
The personnel was really attentive and helped us out with any questions we had.
Bike available to ride to Playa Grande, only 10-15 minutes walking from the camp. We were there just before the high season, the kitchen was missing some basics like vinegar.
Wi-Fi is not the strongest, which is not important when you want to switch off but a bit hard to research our trip's next steps
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberly (9/5): Hidden gem close to the beach - Hidden gem down the street from a great surfing beach. We only stayed for a brief night before our flight but wish we could have stayed longer to lounge around the grounds during the day. The bungalow was spacious, clean, and cozy with a private backyard consisting of an outdoor shower, couch and hammock area. The free bikes were an awesome touch, we biked down to the beach (10min) for sunset and came home after dinner at Kike’s per the host’s recommendation. The driveway along the dirt road to the hotel is well lit but the street road is not - I recommend bringing a headlamp or bike vest if you plan on coming back after dark. More mosquito prevention like netting and citronella candles would have been nice
- Esther (10/5): Loved this place ❤️ - Super friendly staff, great shared facilities to hang out at the kitchen and pool. Beautiful gardens and howler monkeys. Free bikes to use. Great ambience and privacy at tent area. Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Close to the beach, clean place, attentive owner
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - The location was wonderful, we loved the garden and the attention to every detail.
- Rishitha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benita (7/5): Good -
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional - The place is beautiful and perfect to relax and hang out the whole day.
- Tingzhu (10/5): Exceptional - Glamping Experience
- Marius (10/5): Amaizing - Amaizing place, very quiet. The tents and cabins are located in a beautifull garden, nice pool, big kitchen that you can use.
- Anonymous (10/5): a piece of paradise - it was the most unique and beautiful place I have ever experienced. you really lived one with nature. for nature lovers it is a must do! nothing.. everything was perfect
- Terra (10/5): Wonderful! Wish we stayed longer. - The property is beautiful and the cabanas were so well thought out, with privacy and open air rooms. The outdoor shower and hammocks added to the experience. We enjoyed the pool and communal kitchen area. Breakfast was lovely and it was nice to have the option to cook on our own if we chose. Adrian and Sophie were very friendly and helpful giving us pointers for our stay or making calls for us. We really enjoyed the small community, restaurant options and beach. Having just returned from our 2 week trip, this was probably my favorite place we stayed, and we stayed in a variety of hotels/locations.
- Cristina (9/5): Superb - - Breakfast
- Tent
- Pool
- Birds
- Franklin (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing glamping experience - Fantastic atmosphere. Beautiful accommodation and grounds, friendly and welcoming staff.
- Dawn (10/5): Excellent experience - The people were friendly and the place was private and super clean. Could have included breakfast
- Allie (10/5): Great stay! Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Convenient, delicious breakfast. Superior Chalet was perfect for our family -
- Noémie (10/5): Exceptional - I loved my little wooden hut. It’s all done with lots of love for details. You could easily spend a few days there and you can see skunks, scorpions, birds. Breakfast was very good but compared to other places rather expensive.
- Sonia (10/5): The best! - Hands down the best place we stayed in Costa Rica! The owner Sophie is such a lovely person and you can see all the love she has put in the place, the energy is so peaceful and soothing. The tent/room is pristine clean, great pillows, beautiful attention to detail in everything. The sleep quality is really good and the bed so comfortable. We had an outdoor private shower surrounded by plants, that was the “it” factor for me and became a ritual. We enjoyed the private deck with chairs where we sat down to listen to the sounds of the trees and the animals! Cheers to Adrien who hosts the stay, what a great guy! He made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible! We will definitely be back ❤️ nothing
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and romantic. Safe and close to the beach and some great restaurants.
- Cédric (10/5): Perfect place to stay. - Everything was perfect, the staff is very kind and helpful. nothing
- Hudson (10/5): everything perfect, we had a lovely stay connecting to the nature with confort. the staff was very helpful. Andrian was - the nature around nothing
- Sandro (3/5): Poor - From the outside the structure and the place looks amazing. Its is close to playa Grande and some nice restaurants It was very windy when we went there 3 days ago and they have not control of this. We booked the largest villa with 2 queen beds, patio and shower into the garden, but the structure of the house with not ceiling and leaves for a roof meant that you are very exposed to dust, bugs, mosquitos and general feeling of discomfort .
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed this places becas they are unique and they care about every detail including nature and comfort. We love everything
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Tracy (10/5): A little gem of a place that embodies ‘Pura Vida’ - The tent itself was well equipped & with a comfortable bed and a beautiful outdoor shower and little deck at the front, all completely surrounded by lush planting. it was just heaven. The communal gardens were gorgeous, we saw howler
monkeys every day in the trees. A gorgeous little swimming pool, perfect for cooling off. And the staff were amazingly friendly and so helpful, especially Adrien who made us so welcome & gave us lots of information about the accommodation & the local area. we would recommend Flor y Bambu to anyone visiting the Playa Grande area. it’s not just a bed for the night, but a memorable experience that shows you exactly what this Pura Vida thing is all about! don’t let this stop you from choosing Flor y Bambu, but the approach road is gravel and pot holes - bumpy even by Costa Rican standards.
- Ranin (9/5): Amazing to calm down and relax. beautiful garden and lovely hosts - Very beautiful garden, we loved the attention to details and the lush green garden. also hearing all sorts of animals outside. and of course the outdoor shower / bathroom. amazing. hosts were also lovely. location is nice a bit outside, but its recommended to have a car or scooter to get around in playa grande. only (small) thing to improve: some more options in the cabin to hang clothes and luggages.
