Guest Reviews
- Davide Zanette (10/5): - Amazing hotel with a scenic view. We booked a night in Abu Simbel due to a change of plans but it turned out to be completely worth it. Seti Lake Resort is fantastic. It has a privilegiate position over the Nasser Lake, relax is guaranteed. The staff was friendly and the hotel well maintained and with top notch services.
- Laurent (8/5): -
- Jill (10/5): A glorious time - Get to this resort early...swim all day and play...Golrious Pillows were stiff
- Esther (8/5): -
- Evelyn (9/5): Perfect for visiting Abu Simbel - Everything was OK, nothing to complain.
- Jan (9/5): -
- Camille (10/5): Fantastic stay! - This place is AMAZING, best stay of our Egypt trip. We only stayed one night to see Abu Simbel, but I wish we had stayed at least two more to enjoy a relaxing at the two-level lakeside pool. The property is beautiful, clean, and very spacious. It’s an easy 20 minute walk to the temples. The restaurant is a good value and the staff are very kind. The rooms are great, we had a lake view and the scenes from the balcony were gorgeous. Rooms are very comfortable and have lovely decor. Highly recommend!

- JIAN (9/5): -
- Benny (10/5): Above any expectations - Incredibly well appointed, clean and tidy. Maybe a point for the staff to improve on English language skills. No issues, just a bit of effort is required to communicate given the language barrier.
- R (7/5): Good location - The pool and grounds were excellent We had booked a double bed and got 2 singles. No mosquito nets. Limited food menu
- Hector (3/5): Way overpriced. I would skip to stay one night in Abu Simbel and just come for the day. - Location Terrible food and badly preserved. Dirty and mosquitoes everywhere (Abu Simbel is the only place in Egypt where we have seen this mosquito problem)
- Elena (7/5): -
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional - Was absolutely fantastic! The service and staff were incredible. The facilities were great, and the hotel itself felt very clean. It’s in a great spot, so close to Abu Simbel temple. The food was also great!
We would recommend staying here especially if you’re wanting to go to the temple a couple of times. We went at about 3:30PM and saw about 3 people the whole time. At 6:30 in the morning it was a bit busier with a few tour groups there already Nothing! Was perfect
- Muhammad (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and helpful staff
- Coco (7/5): Close to the temple. - The hotel is beautiful with nice view. The facilities are old, and room was not very clean.
- Yerai (10/5): Excellent! - Everything! The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The views from the room were amazing (same from the pool area), the staff was great, and a 10/15 minutes walk from Abu Simbel temple. Maybe the food wasn't the best quality for the price, but still good and with variety.
- Allan (9/5): Happpy with the property. No regrets. - The room we had was in quite good condition. The pools, walking and perpheral areas were clean, attractive, and nicely laid out. It is in a very quiet location, about a 1.2km walk to the Temple complex, which we found reasonable. The food was edible to good, which seems to be the standard in Egypt rgardless of the quality of the hotel. All meats are overcooked, which again, seemed to be the norm.
- Francesca (10/5): Impeccable stay and perfect organization. - Our experience at Seti Abu Simbel Lake Resort was extremely positive. The hotel offers every service. Its location, with a wonderful view of the lake and easy access to the Abu Simbel site, makes it an excellent choice.
We especially appreciated the constant assistance of Mohammed in every activity and transfer, organized down to the finest details. His kindness and professionalism truly make a difference.
We definitely recommend this hotel.
- Richard (8/5): Excellent venue from which to enjoy Abu Simbel temples - Fabulous location
Beautiful swimming pools
Balconies with beautiful views over the lake
Close to the temple
Wonderful staff, especially Manager Mohamed, who personally looked after every part of our trip and certainly made it run more smoothly and more enjoyable. The dining room was a bit soulless, but handled large volumes of guests well.
- Andrew (9/5): Highly recommended for an overnight stay to do to Abu Simbel - Perfect location close to the temple, a very attractive hotel nicely laid out with excellent management and staff. It was perfect for us. Highly recommended Nothing. I would however not recommend the Light and Sound evening show. Nothing much to it
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here for three nights and loved it. The temples can be done in one day, but this hotel is so nice that we felt sad leaving. The staff is super friendly.
- Iannuzzi (6/5): The best in the area - Super kind staff. Mohammed arranged what we asked and made good additional suggestions. A 20 min walk to the temple. The views are beautiful. The property is good for the area but quite dated. The whole property reflects a hard working staff but it must be hard to keep up as it needs updating.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - We had a quiet suite far from the swimming pool.
We can walk to the temple. We wait for sound and light and come back walking.
We bring our breakfast at the temple to see sunrise After sound and light (6.30pm)., the restaurant was open. Buffet 25$ didn't seem nice.
- Natalia (8/5): Nice hotel but a bit overpriced for what it is. - Nice setting with beautiful views. Comfortable suite that perfectly accommodated a family of 4. It was full of mosquitoes and they sprayed a strong anti-mosquito thing that made us get dizzy! Also, very slow service at the restaurant.
- Benno (8/5): Great location and facilities. Mediocre staff and not good food - Facilities, rooms, landscaping and location were great. Service was mediocre, but lazy staff frankly that often gave you a long face when asked to do anything.
And definitely don’t eat there. Breakfast is just about ok. Western dinner is not recommended. Go outside and eat local
- Sonja (9/5): Oasis in the desert - Location, quiet spacious room with wonderful view, pool area. Free water limited in room.
- Richard (9/5): Great stay in Abu Simbel ! - Great hotel for Abu Simbel, Staff went above and beyond with service. Buffet dinner is expensive, we ate at a local restaurant which the staff recommended.
- Paul (10/5): Lovel stay in a Beautiful Setting, Very Friendly Staff and Good Food. - Beautiful Setting, Lovely Staff and Good Food.
- Gregory (9/5): Wonderful Abu Simbel - superb SETI lake resort - Its location was the best. The facilities were excellent. The rooms spacious and comfortable. The WiFi
- Cox (10/5): Great service from start to finish. Driver organised, son et limited tickets arranged - no fuss. A real surprise to fin - Great pool and service. Not much. The management were very helpful.
- Frank (3/5): Great location great pool, dated rooms - loves the staff very nice people. a very nice big pool and great location run down and super loud old AC . furniture very old and worn down. even we appreciated a bigger room..this place is very dated
- David (10/5): Great experience! - Staff are very friendly
- Paul (9/5): Only place to stay in Abu Simbel! - Location, food and pool. A bit dated but still the best in town.
- Richard (9/5): Pleasant Surprise-Oasis in The Desert, but a little pricey - Pleasant surprise-- sort of an oasis in the desert--I was surprised by the massive size of the resort compared to the rest of the sleepy little village. Not a blade of grass in the rest of the town and desert but beautiful manicured lawns at the resort. Multiple pools, coffee bar area, large air conditioned restaurant. Front desk staff were extremely helpful--all staff were very attentive. Wi-Fi only available in public areas and pretty weak there. One English speaking television channel which was RT (Russian Television) constantly giving Putin propaganda. Dinner at the restaurant was a little on the high side even a-la-carte ordering. This was the most expensive hotel night (about $350 including taxes) we had during a 22 day trip that covered Dubai-Maldives-Cairo-Abu Simbel-Istanbul (well except for the Maldives of course). I guess the Law of Supply and Demand is fully in charge here since there really are no other suitable options available.
- Weicheng (8/5): Nice - Nice hotel. Too expensive
- Syed (9/5): Superb -
- Soliman (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Sharklover5337 (10/5): Fantastic stay! Mohamed is the best - The staff were amazingly friendly - Mohamed was fantastic and really helped us out, even after we checked out of the hotel and were in other parts of Egypt!! We were upgraded for free and so our room was huge and we were given free cookies and fruits. The location the temple was excellent. No WiFi in our room, but it was available everywhere else in the resort
- Kari (6/5): Pleasant - The food is terrible
- Heather (10/5): Amazing view with friendly service in the restaurants - Food was great with friendly service - lots of choice on breakfast buffet
beautiful view of Lake Nasser from balcony It was all great! To further improve, extend Wifi to challets, however, was quite happy in the coffee shop!
- Yukija (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (6/5): Pretty but lacked good service and was overpriced - The pool is nice, the grounds are pretty. The view is pretty. Free shuttle from airport (but not back to the airport) The service wasn’t very friendly and arranging things like cars to the airport or the temple wasn’t efficient or fairly priced. The food was mediocre. Not near other restaurant options. Overall it was fine but overpriced. WiFi didn’t reach the rooms.
- Melanie (10/5): Stay here and see Abu Simbel! - Beautiful property, great pool, friendly staff. N/A
- Neil (5/5): Passable - Location. Free Egyptair shuttle bus. View and pool. A 1km / 15 min walk to the abu simbel temple. 160m from the hotel to a junction, turn right and its at the end of the road. Most things can take while. Waited 15 mins for a drink at the pool when we were the only ones there. Some staff are much more attentive than others. Twin beds when asked for one large bed. Value for money not great. The a la carte menu is just the pool bar menu and you can only sit inside if you have the $38 buffet. Not great when you are not very hungry and it's 40degC outside at night.
- Javaid (9/5): All right. - Proximity to the historic site. Dinner was nice. Toiletries and towels were not sufficient and some essential toiletries were missing.
- Dave (5/5): Passable -
- Gracia (10/5): Exceptional - The room with lake view. The staff. The breakfast. The pool. Everything!
- Tina (6/5): Great location and lovely staff, good for one night to see temples. - Location and staff were great ! I’m need of renovation and ac barely worked .
- Abrillembourg (8/5): Very good - The location is superb. Very friendly staff though not very well trained in terms of bar/appetizer. Long time to get a drink at the pool.
- Dalton (9/5): Seti Abu Simbel resort the best option to stay in Abu Simbel and near the tombs - The Seti Abu Simbel resort was nice and staff very helpfull, they gave an upgrade room as the first time in this hotel that was very nice, the breakfast, lunch and dinner excellent with a variety of options. We had a minor problem with the room key lock that hotel need to be fix, that's all
- Shayne (9/5): would definitely return to this resort fantastic view and friendly staff - upgraded to a suite. food & beverages excellent. wonderful view of Lake Nasser. 10 mins by car to Abu simbel temple. definitely stay overnight and go to temples in afternoon - not busy then - had to ourselves and
2 other tourists. essam Manager very helpful. was all good
- Anna (7/5): Mediocre quality for a lot of money - Great location near the temples and at Lake Nasser. The pool is lovely. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. We really payed too much for our rooms, even despite we had a free upgrade: no wifi in the room, curtains partly falling from the rails, broken lamp, outdated electricity wires, safe not working and loose in the closet. I wonder why all the money the tourists have spend in this hotel is not used for maintenance. If you want to earn this amounts of money (300$ for 1 night, 6$ for a beer, in Egypt!) you have to follow high hotel standards. No blame to the receptionists, waiters and cleaners because they are doing their job very well. My complaint concerns the management and the owner(s) of the hotel.
- Nicholas (10/5): A superb 2 night stay and all the staff are extremely hospitable - superb location and really well run Poor breakfast and very canteen like
- Maree (10/5): Exceptional - so relaxing. the food was amazing 🤩 no internet in the rooms but very good internet in public areas.
- Dalene (9/5): We had a beautiful room, right on the Nile. This place was the heartbeat of Abu Simbel. An oasis in the desert. - You could feel the peace and the powerful forces of the river caving its way through the desert. The property just meld into its surroundings. The beautiful pool over looking the Nile and the nice soft music they played.
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Ashwin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Marios (5/5): Overpriced, no value at all - close proximity to temple
nice lake view room was not clean, it didn’t look like it was prepared, also water hose in bathroom was broken
staff tried to clean the room while we were out but left door open and mosquitoes got in the room!
- Josep (5/5): Passable - awful, expensive food
- Kirsten (7/5): Standard of hotel did not merit the high prices - Convenient location to Abu Simbel on Lake Nasser with a nice pool. The prices were very high. The pool was freezing, the buffet was not good. The toilet in our room was not attached and you practically fell on the floor when using it. The chair on our patio was also broken. For the high price we paid, there should not have been major maintenance problems with the room and the pool should have been heated.
- Geraldine (7/5): Great location - beautiful gardens separate beds
- Yasaman (10/5): Treat yourself to some luxury! - We stayed here for one night - super location overlooking Lake Nasser - 5 minutes drive from Abu Simbel. The hotel is very impressive set in its own private grounds and with a great pool area. The room was very spacious and tastefully furnished. Cool balcony with a view of the Lake. On checking in, we were upgraded to have breakfast included - this was great as it cost around $30 each. The breakfast buffet had a great variety to suit all tastes. Would definitely stay again if we could afford to! It's fairly expensive but you can see why. Disappointing that there was no wifi in the room - only in communal areas - which seems odd for such an impressive hotel. The hotel souvenir shop was very expensive.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - It’s very pretty, rooms super cute.
Staff was wonderful. No wifi in the room—you just had to go out to the pool—very close, but if you like to lay in bed and scroll, you have to use data.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariela (8/5): Very good - The view, the pool and the proximity to the Temple are great! Room are a little dated for American Standards...but we did not care!
- Pierre (10/5): Exceptional -
- François (8/5): Very good - Great place, staff full of kindness but price completely crazy !!
- Alvaro (9/5): really nice hotel - really nice hotel! swimming pool superb, lake views amazing, restaurant really good… very expensive
- Melanie (8/5): Vintage luxury on the shore of Lake Nasser - We enjoyed our one night stay at Seti Lake Resort. We arrived early due to a change in flight schedule and were pleased to be able to check in right away and be upgraded to a suite from our double room. The suite was spacious with a view of Lake Nasser. The room and furnishings were a little old but well-kept and comfortable. The location is excellent, only a short walk into town or to the temples. The pool was cool and refreshing. We didn’t eat at the hotel as it was very expensive compared to the restaurants in town.
- Veronica (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dagmar (8/5): Great location, restaurant and service only OK - We loved the location within walking distance to the temples. We would have wanted easy and delicious a-la-carte dining options. A-la-carte was only available at the bar with limited choices. The restaurant offered expensive lunch and dinner buffets only (the decent breakfast buffet, however, was included in the room price). Also, we did not receive room service as we responded to the knock that we would be gone in one hour (which was still within their service hours), and the housekeeper nodded, but then no one ever serviced the room while we were gone. and no one ever picked up the used fruit plate with just peels. The person who brought a new fruit plate refused to take the old one and didn't send anyone else to pick it up.
- Cecil (9/5): Superb -
- Cecil (8/5): Very good -
- Nadia (9/5): Superb - The hotel has a wonderful view on the lake.
Village atmosphere.
The chief of the waiters in the restaurant is very nice and professional. Price.
- Martin (10/5): Look no further, book this charming resort - Beautiful large room (suite), view on the lake. Pool area is an instagram view and well designed. Service was quick and professional. Friendly and responsive staff. Very close to Abu Simbel temple (20 minutes walk). Hotel manager very helpful to organize local trips - i did a 4x4 desert safari to wadi el-sabua/Daka temples. Warmly recommend this hotel. Hotel met all my expectations
- Alice (4/5): Amazing location, very poor service & food. - The location by Lake Nasser is truly amazing. The food & drinks are expensive and the quality of the service and food is very poor.
It was taking ages for food & drinks to arrive to the table. The breakfast doesn’t include any fresh juices, the bread & brioches are dry, the yogurts are not very cold.
If it was not for the incredible view to the lake & swimming pools I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Am (9/5): Magic! - Breakfast: extensive
Vue: extra-ordinary Pool not heated.
