- Daniel (3/5): False and deceptive advertising, overpriced, in dilapidated huts. - False and Deceptive Advertising - the hotel advertises like it is on acres of beautiful property; however, when you arrive, you find that it is located behind and in connection with a massive tourist trap of a store. The bungalows are besieged between a metal wall without any true garden, and the breakfast, which sucked, is at the pool which looks at the back of the gift shop. I spent way too much money for this crap.
- Julie (10/5): Great view of Arenal Volcano - A good buffet breakfast is included with your stay. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms with a large shower. There’s two jacuzzi pools and a pool. It’s off the main road away from the traffic. There are several restaurants close by and a store.
- Bruce (8/5): Well located for all the main attractions - Helpful staff, great pizza Perfectly comfortable and clean but would have preferred a better view
- NICOLAS (4/5): -

- Monica (8/5): Peaceful - Location and breakfast included The ladders to get into the room does not have railing , in my case I need help to get into the room.
- Elida (8/5): Paseo agradable.
- Colin (10/5): A comfortable and relaxing stay with great views and convenient access to a wide range of outdoor activities. - The staff stood out for their friendliness and helpfulness, especially in the bar area. Facilities were great, with the pool and hot tubs being much appreciated after a day out. The view to the volcano from our cabaña was always spectacular, even if there was always some cloud at the summit. The wildlife, especially the birds, that we saw and heard every day was a joy. The cabaña itself was spacious and comfortable.

- Ry (6/5): It was Okay. - Decent view on a clear day. Price seemed on par with other places. Friendly staff. A lot different than we were expecting. It’s right near a huge shopping center and right off of the main road. Very busy road. No early check in. Breakfast is so-so. Walls are very thin. You can easily hear your neighbors.
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional - Staff, room, food N/a
- Jussi (10/5): Good place and great staff - Great anf helpful staff. Good breakfast.

- Amy (10/5): Fell asleep to rain on tin roof woke to bird songs. Wonderful staff beautiful location! -
- Alona (9/5): Spacious rooms with majestic view! - Magnificent view from the room, great location, close to the restaurants, National Park and supermarket. Complimentary breakfast is good. Stuff is very friendly. The pool and Jacuzzi is great, there is a bar right there to get a drink. Rooms are very spacious and clean. We were during the May, low season not too many people, and one day they forgot to open for breakfast, but after we reminded them that we are still here, they prepared it for us.
- Alicia (9/5): Superb -
- Bryan (8/5): Very good - Loved the location Breakfast was just ok
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Josiekj (7/5): Nice but let down by other guests - The room was a good size and in an ideal location for La Fortuna and surrounding places can walk into town and to shops easy. View of Arenal volcano was lovely. Staff were really friendly and there was plenty of parking.
We didn't end up having breakfast as was out super early on both days but another guest we chatted to said it was nice. Wifi was good. Bed was comfy and room was clean. We didn't stay for the 3rd night we booked. After 2 nights not sleeping well due to other guests partying and being loud we decided to move on to another hotel. Our trip was probably badly planned with spring break and we were unfortunately surrounded by groups. There was an internal door to another room that we could also hear everything through.
- Kathy (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the convenience of everything close, Safe, the pools. The VIEW of the Volcano from my Room and pool, breathtaking I Loved Everything!!
- Ali (8/5): Very good - All the staff were attentive but Melanie was exceptional. Even being unwell she always had a smile on her face and went nice and beyond.
- Peter (8/5): It worked well for us as a base to explore the area - Close to everything at a reasonable price. Nice pool and decent food
- Clive (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. Great staff. Will return for sure
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint and clean
- Arielle (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - Close to all attractions Too noisy, too close to the main road
- George (8/5): Very good - location. staff need better bartenders. Margarita&Pina Colada. no good no
- Bennett (6/5): This is a decent place to in La Fortuna - I don’t usually write a review for a place unless it was either extremely good or extremely bad. And even though I rated it as pretty good with the questions that Booking.com asked, nevertheless I can’t say that it was either good or bad. We took one of the bungalows at the back of the property, which I highly recommend. They are very large and very comfortable. The regular rooms are too close to the noise of the restaurant and too close to the street. We could occasionally hear the noise from the road, which is why we took the room at the back of the property.
I would never say not to stay here. It was good enough. We just had higher expectations. It bills itself as a thermal spa hotel. But the warmest pool was just warm, not hot. That was a major reason for us to go. We like Hot Springs, so we were disappointed. And the music from the restaurant, which is right next to the pools, was annoying if you just wanted to relax. Even if it was music I liked, I wouldn’t want to listen to it. The breakfast in the restaurant was just OK. The breakfast coffee was weak. As I already said, take a bungalow at the back of the hotel. They are really nice and have lots of space.
- Raffi (10/5): Great location and comfortable stay. Perfect home base for visiting everything in and around La Fortuna - Amazing view of the volcano from out room. Clean spacious room, very nice pool area with restaurant and bar. Walking distance to some local restaurants. 2 min drive from town center. Friendly staff!
- Patrick (5/5): Beautiful lacation - Food was really good The hotel was in disrepair rain coming in the bathroom
- Sharon (7/5): Good - Views from the room , the cleanliness and staff were all good Our bed was too hard. We could here the people in next room. At 11:00 pm and at 6: am
- Irmak (4/5): Unrealistic pictures - Friendly and responsive staff, clean, adequate breakfast To start with, the town tends to be heavily cloudy often. This means that there is a high chance you will not see the volcano in your stay.
The hotel is right on the side of the main road, which makes the rooms quite noisy. We could hear all the cars pass by from our bedroom.
The entrance is tacky and barely works as a facade to the open space behind. The whole thing feels like you just stopped by on the side of the road with your car to get lunch before hitting the road again.
The pools are too close to the restaurant and are not very inviting.
Also this is the first place we’ve stayed in Costa Rica with inflated pictures. Both view & angle-wise they deflect the truth. Not nice as it only causes disappointment.
With the note about the volcano being in clouds, so without the view, the value for money is quite bad as the hotel is located a little outside of La Fortuna. There are hotels for the same price or better downtown, minus the view, which is a gamble for this town anyway. I recommend not to make that your #1 criteria like me.
- Stephan (9/5): Very relaxing and beautiful place to stay - Spacious set up and room
Good breakfast
Jacuzzis and pool
Friendly staff
View on the volcano
Close to the center
- Sun (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Location was great. Great view of the volcano. Bungalows were comfortable and clean.
- Csaba (1/5): One of the worst experiences. - Hot tub, and the staff Disgusting rooms, old creaking furniture, ABSOLUTELY ZERO sound blocking (like sleeping next to the highway on a mattress), located next to the busiest highway which the window is facing, poor breakfast choice.
- Doug (10/5): Great location for a volcano view - Clean, pool and jacuzzi, good TV, hot water and AC. All was good
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Harvey (10/5): This is a perfect place to stay and relax. The variety of pools and hot tubs are the best we've seen - The restaurant and bar staff were excellent, especially Esteban. Having a variety of pools and hot tubs was nice, especially when it rained and one of them was under a roof. The breakfast was great and all the staff were very friendly. We really liked having the lounge chairs outside our rooms.
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (4/5): Just Fair quality property not good value for the price - Location was ok Tv didn’t work, refrigerator didn’t work, bed very hard, noisy
- Sherry (10/5): Great hotel, decently priced, super location and wonderful serice. - The food and beverage staff were exceptional. Kendall and his wife Jackie were amazing and such lovely people. Kendall was a wonderful chef and made delicious meals. Sadie made killer omelets and kindly showed us how to make tortillas. It is something I will always remember. Your restaurant staff are so friendly and compassionate and so eager to please us. I have found that these are qualities most Costa Ricans have.
- Christopher (7/5): 2 star hotel at 3/4 star prices - The view from the pool area was great. There is multiple small pools but didn’t use them. They had heated pools/spa which was nice. The rooms felt a bit dated or old furniture and the beds are very old and squeaky. WiFi has issues as well and the smart tv didn’t work so it was just basic cable only.
- Ernesto (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherie (9/5): Awesome Arenal stay - The hotel was a little north of town which was great because it wasn’t busy. An easy walk into the smaller town or drive to La Fortuna (about 2.5 miles).
The staff was so friendly and answered all of our many questions. They also arranged our tours and excursions from the hotel.
The breakfast included was simple but fresh and delicious.
The arenal volcano is literally right in front of the property and a beautiful backdrop for pictures.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tonya (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Friendly staff. Clean accommodations.
- Lenore (4/5): Disappointing - The view of the Arenal volcano from the property was amazing. There was an enormous cockroach in our room when we arrived. The entrance to the hotel was really tacky - an enormous souvenir shop and lots of ads for activities. The breakfast was included but it was very scant in comparison to all the other hotels that we stayed at in Costa Rica.
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - everything
- Anne (8/5): Fantastic location and staff with masses of wildlife. Fabulous path to the beach. - Breakfast and location were excellent Bad smell by adult pool and bar. Noisy fans outside bedroom door
- Francis (1/5): Bad -
- Katherine (9/5): Wonderful and relaxing Stay with a lot activities available - Location was very conveniente: 5 mins from downtown Fortuna. We did not rent a car, and taxis charged US less than 5 USD to downtown.
There is a souvenir's store next to the hotel, and we loved it. Breakfast was delicious and th staff took good care of us.
- Berruti (9/5): Superb - The dnvitoment was lovely &the staff Liked everyrhing
- Frank (8/5): Good location , secure complex with top view to volcano - Beatiful and cosy bungalows , security guards checking the area all day long, high level of security (!), well maintained and beautiful garden , top view to the volcano and parking in front of the bungalow Breakfast was not good, hotel complex gave us the impression of a mass tourism factory
- Ingrid (8/5): Very good -
- Neufeld (10/5): Very lovely I would come back. - Great place with a killer view I don’t have any complaints. Maybe a bigger breakfast variety??? But it was still good.
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Good breakfast. Great cook and wait staff. Beautiful views and pools. Nice restaurants just down the street.
- Danielle (6/5): Good location, frustrating service. - Great location and view. It's a bit outside the main part of town which we liked because it's quite busy in there. But it was still a short walk ( 5 min) to a clump of restaurants and a longer walk (20-30 min) into the main town part.
Can't beat the view from the pool/hot tub We ran into several issues while we were there and the hotel staff's first reaction to everything was "not our fault, nothing we can do about it" and were not very helpful in solving the problems.
When we first got there they had the wrong type of room (wrong beds) and they blamed booking.com and didn't really seem inclined to try to fix it. After much back and forth we eventually got the beds we needed but had to switch rooms multiple times.
Later in our stay there was a miscommunication with the excursion we booked through them. The excursion was booked on the wrong day and we missed it Again we were met with a - not our fault, nothing we can do attitude. I had to argue for several minutes to even get them to begrudgingly phone the excursion company to try to see if there was anything that could be done. In the end we solved the problem ourselves by working with the excursion company but it was really disappointing how little they seemed to care or want to try to help.
- Karl-eugen (9/5): Superb -
