• Corinne (10/5): Prickly Pair - Proximity to the University and shops at Jesmond Central was a bonus as my son began his classes last week. More coffee pods for the coffee machine and a dice pan.

• Anne (10/5): The apartment was exactly as described and very clean. - Clean and well-appointed apartment with everything we needed. Super thick towels and comfy bed. Quiet location. Good communication with agents. Online check in with required photo ID and request for refundable deposit.

• Kel (8/5): Very happy to find a roomy apartment close to the hospital - Proximity to John Hunter Hospital. Heaps of room. TVs in every room. Excellent mattress and good size bed. Uncomfortable chairs (for short people)

• Aimee (8/5): Nice stay - Communication and willingness of staff to help can't be faulted. Accommodation was clean and had everything you could need for a short stay. Quite location. Pillows and towels could use an upgrade.
• Betsy (8/5): We enjoyed the stay very much. - It was all good we had the ground level which we asked for so that was good. It was in a good position (although the street was very narrow) close to shopping centre and not far from hockey field. The property could do with a bit of love and care. Mostly the yard.
• Louise Formosa (3/5): Disappointed - 1.The staff did try to help. 2. The washing machine and dryer were very handy. 1. No ac in the bedroom. 2. The ac in the lounge area was not working. 3. The fan in the bedroom was not functional. 4. Very little amenities, ie 3 x glasses in the kitchen for a weeks accommodation and 2 toilet rolls. 5. The floor was so dirty on arrival that i had to vacuum it myself. 6. No security screens on the windows or doors. 7. 2 x extremely thin towels for a week. 8. The door to the bedroom did not open fully which made it very difficult to move about of a night time. 9. The position of the unit was not easy to get to.

• Donna (8/5): Comfortable, quiet and well fitted out with everything needed for a longer stay. - The 2 bedroom apartment was large and well fitted out. It was very clean and had everything needed in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. Location was quiet. Washing machine was great, and the small courtyard was good for drying washing. A very comfortable stay for a week or extended stay. The towels were extremely thin and didn’t absorb water very well. Parking angles were tight out the back but manageable.
• Gabrielle (9/5): I needed good sleep, safety and to be able to cook for myself and do my washing. This apartment ticked all the boxes - Apartment was warm and cosy. Excellent appliances incl washing machine and dryer. Very quiet location in residential area. Short drive from supermarket. As a solo traveler I felt very safe. Thoroughly recommend. Staff were incredibly helpful when I had a problem. Big thanks to Barry and Nicole. Hard to find anything to dislike. Maybe the towels. Very thin and not the drying kind.

• Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean nice place The fire alarm for all apartments was downstairs in mine.it went off for 1 hour. i had no idea about how to turn it off. Finally, a man came and showed me how to turn it off. I was not impressed. This happened my last night.
• Phillipa (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Clean & functional space for our week long stay. Had all the basic amenities to cook & clean which made for an enjoyable stay. Both the 1 & 2 bedroom units were comfortable. Some noise could be heard by neighbours through the shared wall/outside open courtyard style driveway carried noise. We also believe something may be living in the roof of Unit 6 - possum?

• Daniel (5/5): Good room facilities and parking situation is a mess - Good room facilities with Google Home and well stocked kitchen with utensils. Toilet seat had a spider nesting on it upon arrival, back courtyard was not maintained, the parking situation is a big issue as people kept blocking access to the garage and couldn't get any assistance from the overseas reception outside of working hours. Resulted in waiting hours for someone to pick up the phone and then organise for someone to come over and find the customer who blocked the garage to leave. Use of signage and lines and obtaining regos for cars would have prevented this mess.

• Rachel (10/5): Feels like a home away from your home - I loved how great the communication was with staff. The check in process was very simple. The apartment was quite clean. We were even provided a late check out for only $50!!! We will definitely be back. There wasn’t anything we disliked.

• Georgia (8/5): Spacious, good amenities, close to shops and parks. - Spacious, good amenities, close to shops and parks. Was fantastic that the space was dog friendly so we could bring our dog along. There was also a nice sized outdoor area for him too.
• Julie (8/5): Very good - We arrived at night and had trouble locating room 6, lighting was bad and had to get assistance from another unit, phone number given on confirmation was disconnected and no one answered my email calling for assistance. We were there for a medical emergency in the family so probably were not at our sharpest but instructions and lighting could be improved. Once we were in it was excellent.

• Thomas (9/5): It was very an apartment..!! - We had an amazing experience during our stay at Prickly Pear Stays. The apartment was of high quality and impeccably clean, equipped with all the necessary facilities. The location is in a quiet area, making it perfect for a restful getaway. The staff, Erin and Del, were very friendly and supportive. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the Jesmond area of Newcastle. Hot water facility is not available all the days during evening/night time.

• Bailey (9/5): Very comfortable. Good location. - Very comfortable. Exceeded our expectations. The Property was very clean and very comfortable. A family member was having a Heart Triple Bypass at the John Hunter Hospital. He was prepped & ready for Surgery when the Hospital cancelled the Operation. The operation before him was taking longer than expected & 2 emergency patients had been brought to the Hospital. The family members surgery was cancelled & we were told to go home. We live 4 1/2 hours from the Hospital. I did not have travel insurance so I rang Jesmond Apartments and was abruptly told they could not help with any refund. The nature of the male person was unsympathetic and rude. I understood that we probably would not be refunded anything. But I had a letter from the Hospital that may have been considered. I was very disappointed with the man’s attitude considering we were there for a medical procedure that hopefully would be lifesaving. We have a new date for the Operation. Unfortunately these Apartments are already booked for our new operation dates.
• Lynn (8/5): Enjoyable stay, comfortable beds and great aircon . - Spacious. Great ducted aircon. Tv in each room. Downstairs lounge room. Shower was blocked, not great pressure either. Kitchen Sink had a leak. They were seen to by a plumber. A few necessary items missing from kitchen like a colendar, cutting board, cooking dish for microwave . Def could add to kitchen utensils. Kitchen bin lid is broken.

• Lauren (8/5): Would stay again! - Unit was so clean, bed was comfortable Had to park my car on the street as it was too big to fit in the garage. My car isnt overly big either but garage was just very narrow. The other car spots weren’t numbered either.

• Hardline (9/5): Great little unit when travelling for work! - Comfortable and tidy apartment fitted out with all the necessities. Great location for our workers who found it close to everything they needed. Owners were very responsive, easy to get in touch with and happy to assist. Had a few issues on entry - stovetop not working and outside courtyard very dirty and full of weeds, however owner rectified these issues very quickly and we had no problems the rest of the trip!

• Ivan (8/5): Didnt know prior to booking that secure car parking was not applicable to this property. - We were not aware of any breakfasts provided with this property. Lighting. The ceiling spotlights were far too bright for comfort, but without them too dark.
• Surinder (7/5): Overall is perfect, My suggestion, try listne all concerns of the guests. - Its Awesome, Apartment was clean and cozy, with stylish furniture and a comfy bed. The kitchen was stocked well enough with cookware and utensils that I was able to make some of my meals at home rather than overspending outside. Location was good, its nearby Uni of Newcastle, Callaghan campus. We requealsted for little late checkout,(1 - 2Hrs) but our request was clearly rejected, seems they didnt want to care, why we requested for late check out.
• Rachael (8/5): Great apartment when visiting UoN - Excellent location if visiting UoN. Great little Apartment that was very well stocked. Will stay again. Parking is tricky - but that is for all of Jesmond.
• Weijia (5/5): Passable - Facility and room setup very good. I found 3 cockroaches during our stay, 2 of the largest kind and 1 small one. Horrible! Also the location is convenient but does not feel safe, encountered people driving under influence.

• Maree (6/5): I found the unit to be pleasant but because of parking at some points made it frustrating - Kitchen had basically everything thing you needed for two people the fry pans are a little wonky on stove top but we managed ok The tv is against one wall and the lounge that is there is facing another wall you can’t watch tv comfortably and the lounge itself isn’t very comfortable to use, would be better with maybe an L shape or two single seaters so more user friendly, Because there is limited room for car parking if you have a large car or even a small one we found ourselves being trapped in waiting for another guest to move their car so we could leave, we had never been there before and wasn’t told unit 5 was behind a gate to side of building at back so took some time trying find unit as there was no number on gate just needs to be more finder friendly , not a lot of privacy unless you keep blinds shut especially the front window
