• Esther1604 (10/5): Geweldig locatie in prachtige tuin - De tuin van dit hotel is werkelijk prachtig, de dames bij de receptie super vriendelijk en de kamer met zitje was heerlijk Ook het zwembad was mooi zorgde voor verkoeling Als we iets moeten kiezen het ontbijt. Dat betaal je los in de ontbijtzaal,en vonden wij prijzig zeker omdat je voor alle extra s moet bij betalen.

Alles was met zoveel liefde en zorg ingericht, met aandacht voor decoratie en detail. Een genot om hier te zijn! Het hartelijke en gastvrije personeel, vooral de immer sprankelende Elisabetta. Mooi zwembad en jaccuzzi. Leuke algemene ruimtes, zoals het hoekje voor koffie en thee of de ruimte met ping-pong, biljart en tafelvoetbal. Door het hele park ligt een pad met een groen tapijtje zodat je comfortabel kunt lopen. Zeer schoon en netjes. Grote bungalow en terras. Elke ochtend komt een ploeg het zwembad uitgebreid schoonmaken. Alles was perfect. Een van de twee beste hotels waar we in Costa Rica hebben verbleven. Absoluut niets.

• Bird (10/5): Comfortable paradise with excellent amenities and features! - We enjoyed the beautiful plants, comfortable king bed, great A/C, potable water, big bathroom, nice pool and jacuzzi, and the cute front porch area. And the animals on the property are fun! The location is also nice, not too far from town but with some nearby options. The walls are a little thin, but there are standalone cabin options I believe. Ours was #7 on the side, so we only had noise from one side. Nbd tho!

• Bryan (9/5): Excelente estadía - El hotel superó las expectativas, muy bonitas las instalaciones con espacios separados para mayor privacidad y mucha vegetación, los desayunos muy buenos; y las habitaciones super cómodas. Como un punto de mejora en las habitaciones donde el inodoro esta aparte de la ducha podrían colocar una puerta a la ducha y así poder usar ambos espacios simultáneamente.

Stunning view of the volcano from our room. Very convenient for local tours to coffee and cacao (North Fields) and hot springs (Eco Termales). Entertaining wildlife on site e.g. hummingbirds. Breakfast was basic but welcome. Cash payment on arrival for room means having to be prepared for this!

Although next to the main road, very quiet inside the room. Enchanting garden, and the view to the volcano, superb (if the clouds are playing game!). The price for which we booked the rood was challenged by the reception staff, who added 13% as tax which seemingly is not disclosed by booking.com. Rather difficult to believe.

Opzich eenvoudig maar wel keuzes. De 2 dames die het ontbijt regelen zijn helaas niet heel vriendelijk en sociaal. Dat is erg jammer. Ze hebben geen plezier in hun werk! Komen erg verveeld en chagrijnig over op klanten.

Wir haben das verbesserungswürdige Frühstück am zweiten Tag durch Sonderbestellungen optimiert. Das Personal war hier für die Änderungen sehr aufgeschlossen.

Beautiful, well maintained property, lush gardens and animals running around. Great bird watching early am and evening. Pool, jacuzzi, game area. Loved the porch seating/hammock in front of every room. Beds very comfy, friendly staff, we had an amazing stay.
• 7d18e219e6f0719b40e0d6e8ff50854b (8/5): Wohlfühlort - Sehr schöne Anlage mit Bungalows in einem gepflegten großen Garten (etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig sind nur die mit Kunstrasen ausgelegten Wege). Macht Spaß, sich dort aufzuhalten und die zahlreichen Vögel zu beobachten (ein Aguti kam auch mal vorbei). Kaffee und Tee den ganzen Tag kostenlos, schöner Pool, toller Jacuzzi. Elizabeth von der Rezeption immer gut drauf und auch die andere Kollegin sehr, sehr nett. Frühstück kostet 8 Dollar extra, lohnt sich vor allem, wenn man das klassische Gallo Pinto nimmt, und man sitzt dabei sehr nett im Grünen. Das Hotel liegt in einem Vorort von La Fortuna, aber es gibt dort auch fussläufig ein paar nette Restaurants wie das Soda fast gegenüber. Roca Negra ist ein Wohlfühlort mit herzlicher Atmosphäre. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen, aber das nächste Mal ein Superior- oder Deluxezimmer nehmen und nicht das Standardzimmer. Das war zu zweit mit Koffern schon recht klein - bei den auf Booking angegebenen 30 Quadratmetern wurde offenbar die Terrasse grosszügigst mit eingerechnet - und sehr hellhörig, man bekommt viel von den Nachbarn mit. Dass ausschließlich Barzahlung akzeptiert wird, wurde zwar vorher mehrmals kommuniziert, es ist aber trotzdem bei höheren Summen lästig.
• cf507cdaa1c5728fa8d1f39b4f46e1c1 (9/5): A nice spot - This was a well-located property close to the center but situated in a quiet garden and with security gates for safety. The gardens and farm birds (chooks, turkeys, peacocks) made it feel very relaxing. The pool was great, and I loved having views of the volcano from our front door! We had parking at our door too, which was handy! The room was clean and comfortable with a fridge but no tea-coffee making facilities in the room - that is available in a shared area. We needed to leave early in the morning and the gate wouldn't let us out! Not sure if the code was wrong or what? In the end one of our party had to jump the gate and enter the code from the other side
• d516275856267281c8940bb324a92110 (10/5): Een hele leuke accommodatie met prachtige tuinen! - Heel erg mooi aangelegd. Prachtige tuinen bij elke kamer, of beter gezegd, huisje. Voor 8 $US krijg je een simpel maar gezellig ontbijtje bij het zwembad met een prachtig uitzicht op het groen. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. We hebben diverse huisjes gehad en de wat duurdere huisjes zijn ruimer en iets meer aan te raden. Het uitzicht op de vulkaan hangt erg af van het weer. Er zijn ook wat leuke restaurantjes op 5-10 minuten lopen. Naar La Fortuna lopen duurt ongeveer een half uur, maar er is geen mooi voetpad. Doorgaans loop je door de berm, of een gebrekkig pad. Er is een kluisje, maar het kan erg klein zijn. De maat en uitvoering hangt af van het huisje. Het kan gebeuren dat je een sleuteltje moet gebruiken. Ook paste zelfs een iPad niet altijd. Het oversteken van de drukke weg naar sommige restaurantjes valt niet altijd mee, maar lukt met wat geduld altijd wel :-)

On avait la chance d’avoir une vue sur le volcan. Un très bon logement à prix abordable. Je ne conseille pas le petit déjeuner. Il y a du café à disposition qui fait très bien l’affaire.

It exceeded all our expectations- the rooms are huge, comfortable, super clean and the bathroom was also really big and clean. Beds are super comfy. Absolutely loved the front patio with the rocking chairs with views of the volcano! The swimming pool area is beautiful!

• Geovanni (8/5): A lovely hotel surrounded by nature - The rooms are comfortable and clean, surrounded by nature and animals, and the service is generally good. The only issue we had was with breakfast, which was served very slowly even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, and some parts of the breakfast (the bread, for example) were served long after the rest.
• Adam (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful stay at an exceptional place. - The property is beautiful — lushly packed with plants and wildlife — and the host and staff are so friendly and sweet. A truly peaceful and special getaway. Each unit feels just secluded enough from all the others. The onsite breakfast is delicious. You pay for your stay in cash (either colones or USD) at the start or end of your time there. Close to EVERYTHING. The property's gate access code had recently changed and so what we received in our confirmation email was incorrect. We arrived in the dark and could not get in after a long day of travel. Thankfully, another guest pulled up behind us and let us in as we were pulling up the property's phone number to call. I have no doubt they would have resolved the matter immediately. But just to be sure, would consider confirming your gate code via a call or email ahead of time.

• Robin (10/5): Fantastisch - Tolle Ausstattung der Unterkunft. Alles was man braucht und noch mehr. Hängematte/Schaukelstuhl/Extra Nackenkissen uvm. Jacuzzi Billardtisch Kaffeelounge usw. Unfassbar viele Tiere, einen tollen Ausblick direkt auf den Vulkan, richtig richtig schöne Pflanzen im ganzen Gelände. Frühstück kostet extra und war jetzt nichts besonderes. Besser direkt gegenüber beim Soda Turnito frühstücken

• Stephanie (9/5): Beautiful property and facilities! - Beautiful property with great facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. Our villa was perfect and very clean. Enjoyed the nature trails and animals on the property. Especially the view of the volcano from our patio. We enjoyed our tea and morning walks. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice. There’s nothing we didn’t love about this property. We’d definitely stay again!
• Rodriguez (9/5): Totally awesome especially for the price point! - The rooms were super clean and very large. The view of the volcano from the front patio was stunning. So enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs and looking at that view and hearing the birds in the morning. Pool area was lovely too! Duna at front desk was so very helpful- she was the best ever!
