Guest Reviews
- Elaine (7/5): Florence is an amazing city and to be in the heart of it all was very special. - The location was second to none! The suite is in the heart of Florence and we were easily able to explore by foot from there. The suite itself is modern and functional. Such an interesting layout reminiscent of a bygone era with high ceilings and charming shuttered huge windows... no view though. There seemed to be a disconnect between the owner and the management company. The owner texted me that the room was ready upon our arrival at about 1300. However, the door code did not work until 1500. This was confusing and uncomfortable as we had to wait on the doorstep for 2 hours.
The kitchen was lacking. It would have been nice to have a few more supplies.
- silvia (8/5): - Muy buena ubicacion.-
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Location, uniqueness, amenities and ease of doing business
- Milan (7/5): Apartment will be ok for people who care more about location then being comfortable. - Location is perfect, center of the old city, couple of steps from Basilica, which can be seen from almost anywhere in Florence.
Bed was very good, but only 1 flat pillow for each person.
Internet was great. Kitchen is abominable, it seems it was made from an old small passageway that cleaners used, very strange, 2 coridors and 3 step far from the living room.
TV has only italian channels.
In the main room, there are 2 sets of steps leading towards the wall in direction of the street, it seemes it was walled off, and there are 3 outside doors from which 2 have been walled off and made cabinets,, so there is a lingering feeling that you are outside when you are inside.
- Olena (6/5): Pleasant - The location was excellent, and the place was clean. Check-in was difficult, as the instructions were very unclear and we had to call for help. There was a loud, unpleasant noise coming from the radiators. The kitchen was tiny—too small for two people to be in there comfortably—and having to go up and down the stairs while cooking was quite annoying.
- Springirth (10/5): This was the perfect stay here in Florence! I have been many times and this has by far been my favorite place. Right nex - The location was amazing! And the safety around the apartment was perfect! I did not like how there wasn’t air conditioning, and I wish there was more fans.
- Anastasia (10/5): Perfect location, easy access by foot to everything, beautiful apartment, very comfortable and enjoyable staying - Very central location, close to everything, comfortable apartment with excellent host Nothing negative
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
- Anastasios (9/5): Superb - Plenty of space. Nice historical building. All facilities in very good condition. Location was perfect. Noise from the street, despite the double-glass windows. Sewage smell from the street outside. Shower too small.
- Eileen (10/5): It was wonderful. The apartment was perfect for small family. Shower was a bit small so it would not work for a bigger - 1. Location
2. Cleanliness
3. Staff at starthouse were so helpful
4. 24 hour self check in Loved everything
- Celine (8/5): Appartment in a Palace - This appartment is located in a real 15 century Palace. It is called Palazzo Pepi. We met a member of the Pepi family while waiting for our keys upon arrival (the combination lock was not working) and she told us about the building history. This appartment is nicely decorated and well equiped, clean and has a washer. The furnitures are new and confortable. The architechture inside the appartment is wonderful and from the loft you can see all the details of the ceiling and arcades.
The host company was easy to contact and was quick to respond to our queries. Very efficient. The shower is so small you can't even turn around once inside and there is no place to put a soap. The kitchen is very very small with only a bar fridge, a toaster oven and a gaz cooking plate and not much space to move. Not a gourmet kitchen but good enough to prepare breakfast before leaving for the day. During the day, the appartment is very dark due to the fact that there is a tall building in front of the windows. You need to turn the light on.
- Danielle (10/5): A wonderful apartment for a stay with some girlfriends, close to the action and restaurants. The help desk was accomodat - The property was clean and spacious, felt roomy amongst 4 people and had all the essential facilities at hand The shower is rather small and squeezy but other than that it was perfect, nothing bad to say!
- Micael (9/5): Fantastic - Fantastic location, very clean and equiped with all you need
- Adrian (7/5): Good - We had a wonderful stay, the property was ideal and very comfortable and spacious. It's location was perfect for exploring the wonders of Florence. The team were great at helping us check-in a bit early to coincide with train arrival times. However and perhaps we should have taken more notice of others comments as the street noise was extreme. No double glazing and there was constant noise of cars people, scooters etc sounded like they were in the room! Such a shame as it would put us off rebooking
- Kr (4/5): Via dei Pepi - This is a very special apartment and so very different from others. You enter through a lovely courtyard into the modern apartment that was once a stable.
We love the Santa Croce location. It is not in the touristy sections of Florence and is filled with wonderful trattorias. We were there for 3 weeks and never had a bad meal! We also liked being close to the Mercato San Ambrogio to pick up lovely Italian produce (etc.) to cook back at the apartment. The apartment with its high ceilings was quirky and echoed. The kitchen was minuscule and up several steep steps. The plates, glassware etc. were back down in the living space. The shower was tiny with no place to put your soap, etc. The bed in the loft was very comfortable.
Even though it was warm outside, the apartment was chilly and dark. But above all this, the worst of our 3 week stay was the constant noise both day and night from the street and from piazza Santa Croce just steps away - many nights of loud drunken rowdy behavior - until 2 or 3 in the morning. We had to wear earplugs every night.
This apartment needs to install double-paned windows to keep out the noise! If this apartment fixes the noise situation, I would rate it a 7. Until then, it's a 4.
- Sarah (10/5): Fabulous - A special place with unique features and great communication from owner. I would highly recommend to anyone. Location was excellent and everything on your door step, very clean and comfortable
