Guest Reviews
- Julia (10/5): Superb - Absolutely beautiful boutique feel hotel, spotlessly clean and lovely staff. The location is excellent and they have a shuttle boat to the other side and a beautiful beach as well as snorkel equipment and kayaks and paddle boards. Cannot recommend enough. Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): A truly wonderful stay - Absolutely stunning property and location Nothing - was all superb
- Anna (8/5): Tasteful, beautiful, perfect stay! - Loved the colonial style, very historical.
Beautiful decor, very helpful, friendly staff.
Room was very comfortable and the best was the daybed in the porch!!!
The little boat ride to the Boom restaurant is fun Nothing - what’s not to like? 😊
- Jonathan (10/5): Tranquil setting in a well-located area for walks, restaurants and other attractions - Historic charm, understated luxury complemented by a relaxed atmosphere, and great service.
We loved the waterside restaurant and especially the waiter service for breakfast. Much nicer than the buffet breakfast that most hotels offer. On top of this, the setting within a historic dock yard was fantastic, never over-busy but always something happening. We also loved the water taxi, as the resort is on both sides of the harbour. What's more, the taxi will take you to a fantastic beach and beach bar too.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Stefan (10/5): Excellent stay; fully recommend. - Amazing property in English Habour & the staff were great 😊 Nothing
- Douglas (10/5): First Rate service and congenial staff. - Many of the original features remain from when it was. A Royal Navy dockyard. N/A
- John (10/5): Brilliant stay in historic location - Fantastic location, brilliant friendly staff, comfortable spacious room Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): - Staff, view, lobby, breakfast, pool area and restaurant the room was a little disappointing . We knew it was a Loft in a heritage property but it was a little tight, and the 'view' looked straight out into the Museum area. We found the Boat yard was very active early , so if you like a lie in this is not for you. Fortunately we were early risers, hikers. and swimmers so not a problem.
In the garden by the restaurant is a 'dead water' spot where the column are. It smelt a little and would benefit for some circulation with fresh sea water.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Igor Anferov (8/5): Good old-fashioned hotel with superior restaurant - The room was spacious, all appliances were working well, stuff was very welcoming and the breakfast was very good, with a lot of options to choose from. The interior of the room could be improved. It looked rather old, and I didn’t like that the bathroom wasn’t separated by a full-height solid wall. Because of this, it felt quite chilly to take a shower while the room’s air conditioning was on.
I also didn’t like that the door to the barracks was not self-closing, meaning anyone could come in. I would have preferred it to have a door closer and a magnetic lock installed, so that only people with smart cards could enter.
- tim (10/5): One of my favourite places to visit , love to come back as it’s so relaxing . The staff are brilliant, the food is great - Excellent location , brilliant staff , and probably the best food in English Harbour . 3rd time here and will be coming back soon. I liked everything

- Friedrich (10/5): -
- carla (8/5): - La posizione Niente
- Evan (9/5): -
- Victor Andres (10/5): Paradise - What can I say, this is a unique, amazing place. It’s a piece of paradise. The service is very good, the staff is friendly, polite and welcoming.
This is a place where you can come to relax. The beds are comfy, the ac works perfectly. The rooms are the perfect size.
The food at the restaurant is excellent
They have a boat that takes you directly to Galleon beach where you can snorkel I would put better blinds on every window. Because at the moment the blinds let a lot of light in. Which wakes you up as soon as the sun comes out.
The last day there was a cockroach in our room.
The breakfast is good but very pricey
- Craig (9/5): -
- Kimberly (10/5): It’s an exceptional place. - The location in English Harbor is amazing. The staff is lovely and accommodating. Nothing.

- Diane (10/5): Lovely hotel and location with nice restaurant - Lovely hotel in great location. Loved the restaurant for dinner and pool was great and not too crowded for lunch. Nice getting the little boat across to the pool. Staff always there to take you When a table is reserved in Boom Bar at lunch they should put reserved signs on the tables so you know where you can sit rather than being told to move
- Olivia (9/5): -
- Andreas (10/5): -
- annette (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely location and little town close is great Tv in room
- Greg (10/5): Probably one of the finest small hotels in the entire Caribbean - Outstanding location, beautiful historic buildings, and really comfortable and spacious room Nothing

- Ellie (9/5): -
- Rae (10/5): -
- E L (9/5): -
- Judith (9/5): Amazing, I would stay again - Upgraded room was great compared to a couple of years ago

- george (9/5): -
- Margit (8/5): A beautiful boutique hotel with nice staff - Great location
Beautiful building
Nice staff
Comfortable bed
Good communication Bathroom a bit small for a couple to use at the same time, understandable due to architecture of a historic building but something to bear in mind.
The breakfast offerings would benefit from a quality review
- Hermann (9/5): -
- Markus (10/5): -
- Markus (10/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): Fantastic location in a beautiful area of Antigua. - Fantastic location in an amazing historical area of Antigua away from the crowds. Right in the centre of the old naval docks with plenty of restaurants within walking distance and two harbours full of amazing yachts and SuperYachts to dream about owning.
Two good beaches with great restaurants (LOCA on Galleons and Catherine’s at Pigeon Point, which was a nicer beach but both are good).
Would definitely recommend the area and hotel. There was nothing majorly that we didn’t like.
- Zara (9/5): -
- Emily (9/5): - Beautiful buildings and amazing location! Rooms were a little dark - we had garden view rooms.
- Alex (9/5): -
- Aaron (10/5): If you love history, stay here - Beautiful location, calm, very historic. Quite a privilege to be able to stay in there beautiful old buildings Nothing.
- Shivana (9/5): Beautiful place with wonderful staff - Excellent location, historic site and wonderful staff. We stayed in the Loft room and it was very noisy. Very close to the street so from early in the morning you would hear a lot of talking. The only other thing was that the internet connection was really poor - if you are lucky enough to not need the internet when you are there, this won’t bother you too much. We had some work meetings and had to hotspot while roaming!

- Tim (9/5): -

- Matthew (10/5): -
- JOEL (10/5): -
- Fox (7/5): Lovely staff and location - Location and staff Shower in room wasn’t great
- Usha (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the loft suite and the old world history so interesting and beautiful The twin beds arent so comfortable you need better mattresses
- Geneviève (8/5): - L'emplacement sur l'eau et
- Katrin (8/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- Shaun (8/5): -
- Nicky (10/5): Marvellous - Twist of old colonial and modern
Excellent staff Nothing
- Terry (6/5): -
- Tori (10/5): - Everything! I can’t recall ever reviewing anywhere I’ve stayed but I feel compelled to leave a postive review for the Admirals. Historic setting, lovely staff, good food. The pool area is fantastic or you can hike (or drive) across to Pigeon Point beach. All in all a perfect start to our trip. I would have extended our stay had there been availability! I’d recommend booking a sea view rather than Mountain View room
- Dominic (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back again and continue to recommend to our friends. - Beautiful location. Lovely ambience. Friendly Staff.
Just a great experience
- Tim (10/5): Excellent location in a beautiful historic building was a real surprise. All the latest mod cons with efficient air cond - Location and historic character Nothing
- Martijn (10/5): Amazing stay in a beautiful historic setting - The hotel is located in the Nelson dockyards, a Unesco world heritage site. The premises are beautiful and historic, situated in a bay with lots of sailing boats. there is an excellent restaurant on site and ample outside space to sit and relax, either on the “Admiral” side, or by the pool on the “Gunpowder” side of the bay. A small boat goes back and forth between the two. Our room had an amazing view and beautiful wood floors and beams. The staff went above and beyond to greet us, answer all our questions and give us local recommendations. I would definitely stay again. Nothing
- eric (10/5): A perfect retreat with family and honeymooners. Great local staff - Peaceful and magical. I would stay in the main house for charm- smaller rooms but attention to every detail. The gunpowder area (accross the water) have large villas but they lack the character of the main area- very modern, no charm. But you are closer go the pool and a very different feel- good for kids on gunpowder side I found it odd for such a large and expensive facility that we had to carry our own bags - except when we arrived. Never experienced this except when i backpacked.
- Ben (9/5): Love my stay at the hotel and would come back to the same place. - Great location, and beautiful hotel. The boat ride to the beach was very handy. So quiet when we went in August as it’s low season. Was like having a private villa. I love the hotel. Very minor, but a warning about sea urchins at the beach would have been handy.
- Johnny (8/5): Great location. Very expensive. - Quiet location. Was expecting free water for the price of the room... since an exaggeration that they want to charge for a bottle of water....
- Martin (9/5): Excellent overnight stay - Great location and helpful staff
- Tamela (8/5): Would definitely stay here again! Loved the property - Historical, great food Water pressure was not great a couple of times
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous property. The most helpful staff. Delicious food. Couldn’t recommend enough
- Aimee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): Wish we had stayed longer! - Amazing historical property in a beautiful location. Nothing
- Niki (9/5): Superb - Amazing omelettes for breakfast !
- Ryan (9/5): A fantastic property - would recommend - Great location and fantastic views - staff very helpful! Will be back! Some elements are potentially a bit tired, particularly the toilets by reception, however this is a very minor point in what was a great stay!
- Gordon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alka (9/5): Superb -
- Ales (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (1/5): Do not stay here - Terrible hotel. Zero customer service. Facilities in disrepair. Food makes you sick. Go to Copper and Lumbar instead for 1/3 the cost and a much better experience.
- John (1/5): Terrible - Nothing Treated with contempt by the staff. Bed with blood on the sheets. Air conditioner not working. Farthest thing from luxury. Look elsewhere.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in historic English Harbour - Location, atmosphere, room, breakfast, dinner, customer service.
- John (7/5): It was pleasant but I did feel a little unsecured due to the type of entry door to the room - Location very scenic .
Great Spa treatment and restaurant The room was very basic , no telephone communication, room entry door not hotel grade security.
- Johnny (10/5): Exceeded my expectations! - Location can't be better. It's located right at the heart of the historical site of Nelson's Dockyard. It's very scenic to have a meal - breakfast, lunch or dinner - by the sea! Nothing. But It would be great if the check-out time was at 12 noon.
- Janis (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (9/5): One of the most beautiful and historic places in the Caribbean - Everything. It's like living on a historic museum film set. It's stunning. Maybe Gould have done with some more furniture in our room eh. Sofa or chair
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): Delightful. - Unique property in a fantastic setting and with a lovely ambiance. Great pool area with plenty of sunbeds and lovely adjacent bar and restaurant serving delicious drinks and lunches . All the staff were helpful and delightful. We enjoyed staying there so much we didn’t leave the hotel during our 3 night stay, other than to walk round Nelson’s Dockyard. The quality and quantity of breakfast was not up to the standard of other meals.
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (9/5): Very enjoyable - Right on the harbor close to restaurants beach shirley heights Nothing to speak to speak of although was somewhat pricey
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent location from which to enjoy Antigua. - Amazing location within the historic Nelsons Dockyard. Excellent restaurant. Beautiful pool location. Because of the age of the property there is no lift. Because of the popularity of the pool it tends to be busy. There are no private sunbathing areas.
- Cleo (10/5): Just lovely!! - Located at English Harbour which is a World Heritage Site. Nelson’s Dockyard is located here which in parts dates back to 1600’s. Nelson lived there for 3 years hence its name. Easy walking distance to a variety of good restaurants. We were in the Gunpowder Suites and breakfast taken across the water at Admirals Hotel and you are ferried over whenever you need to go. Quite quirky and unique - we loved that! The room was delightful and a really good size we had a seating area and a lovely covered wooden deck looking out over the water with rocking chairs. All the staff were brilliant. Photos show the bathroom with petals scattered when we arrived, the bed and sitting area. The view from Gunpowder Suites to Admirals Hotel and on the other side looking back to Gunpowder suites. Nothing that I can think off and would definitely stay here again
- Rosy (9/5): Superb - We love the historical buildings and the view
- Emma (9/5): Living in history with all the luxury - You are living in history, but with added benefit of friendly staff, great food and lovely rooms. Pool an added bonus. We had a garden room and it was so tranquil with a veranda and visiting Would love to stay for longer but can end up a bit pricey.
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Alister (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the hotel was lovely
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tessa (9/5): Absolutely perfect way to start our holiday with a few days at Admirals Inn. - A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. All the staff are so welcoming. Big thank you to Cordia and her team for making us so welcome every morning. No better place to sit and have breakfast. Loved everything.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
