Guest Reviews
- Joao Luiz (10/5): -
As comidas do Pub cheirosas e lugar bem frequentado, silencioso Absolutamente nada, tudo perfeito, voltaria mil vezes.
- Stephen (9/5): - Staff
- Haein (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Characterful property with wonderful hosts - Such wonderful, kind hosts and a really characterful property - a real one of a kind. Hospitality is second to none and location perfect for exploring Greenwich and central/east London
- David (8/5): Very interesting place to stay! Comfortable and informal -
- Claire (7/5): Quirky pub stop, great location. - Great pub, quirky, fun and central Greenwich location.
Staff were warm and welcoming, brought a bottle of water (tap water isn’t drinkable). Easy check in at the bar. Very sadly no tea/coffee facilities. This would be a most welcome addition in our view, particularly as no breakfast available (there are loads of great local places).
- Robert (9/5): all good - the usual, warm comfortable room, friendly welcoming staff smell from the kitchen, heating didn’t work briefly
- Karl (6/5): -
- Jeremy (8/5): Great place, just could someone sort out the windows? - Lovely place, great atmosphere and decor and lovely staff. Nice, clean and quiet. The room was really drafty - it felt like a window was open all night even though they were closed. Heating helps, but it was below freezing outside so that breeze was very parky and woke me up a lot. The room also appeared to have a curious slope from side of the room to the other! Aside from that, everything was great :)
- Louise (7/5): -
- Rosie (8/5): Ideal base for a long weekend - Quirky and charming! Brilliant location close to the station, market and all Greenwich’s attractions.
Very clean, comfy and warm. The kitchenette is well appointed to make drinks, breakfast, quick meals etc. “Not drinking water” in the private bathroom, but easy enough to pop along to the kitchenette.
- James (10/5): Greenwich Pub stay, great location. - Great location, beilliant pub, super friendly staff. Zero effort check in.
Very simple facilities, that are reflected in the price.
- Kelly (7/5): Lovely little pub hotel - Quirky, great location, excellent food, and friendly staff Shower didn’t really work
- Susan (8/5): Wonderful stay - Bohemian eclectic pub in Greenwich full of curiosities. Ideal spot for Greenwich centre. Amazing food - Bangladeshi cook who spent 20 years in Rome - knocks out some of the best Italian food.
- Richard (9/5): Quirky & cosy with great Italian food and wonderfully friendly staff - This is a lovely place but maybe not to everyone's taste...
It's not a hotel and you shouldn't expect the same facilities that you would in a hotel.
It's a small number of rooms in a working pub. It's fairly basic and no-frills but the information in the listing is accurate so there shouldn't be any surprises.
It's incredibly cosy and quirky, and the staff are so friendly you almost feel like you're staying with friends.
They serve excellent Italian food in the pub downstairs and the "pub noise" is surprisingly unintrusive.
It's an excellent, well-priced base for exploring Greenwich, the Isle of Dogs and environs. It's a building of a certain age that perhaps could use a little modernisation - e.g. water pressure isn't very good and soundproofing (both from outside and neighbouring rooms) is limited - but that's not unexpected or, for me, a dealbreaker.
- Nadine (7/5): Overall it was ok for a short stay and for someone on a low budget. - The room was clean, and i particularly liked the kitchen where i could do a cup of tea and there were always some biscuits, cereals and milk available. Some details are lacking, such as a bedside table. The shower had an instant water heater installed separately from the main and the water temperature kept changing drastically. Shower door didn't close properly either, so my bathroom ended up full of water.
- Damian Oscar (7/5): -
- Tracy (9/5): Fabulous place - as long as you don't need to watch TV - The staff are amazing.
The bed was very comfortable
The room was interesting with art work
The WiFi was good
The pub itself is incredibly interesting
The kitchen with drinks and cereals a bonus The shower door did not close so the bathroom flooded each time I used it
The TV had Italian channels apart from the news
- Kristin (7/5): Cost effective and easy to get to. - It was cosy and easy to get to. The room was very cramped. The TV was positioned in a way that it was easy to hit your head on. We didn’t love that.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Elena (8/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Emma (6/5): Cheap and ok for 1 night - It was very central for Greenwich. Bed was comfortable. There was a kitchen you can use for tea coffee etc. the pub downstairs was quirky would not say museum more a lot of stuff but food looked good (we didn’t eat there) and prices were reasonable. Staff friendly enough. The room was very outdated and need some TLC. The shower dripped out, (no power shower) the shower cubical felt like you was going to fall through and the bedroom was on an angle and felt like a slope. Not recommended if disabled as narrow stairs to rooms.
- charlotte (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Greenwich - Absolutely loved it here, quirky, comfortable, quiet at night and still very central - already looking to come back as soon as we can!
- Ali (8/5): I will stay there again next time I’m in the area - Staff shortages kind and welcoming. Generously made me a cup of tea from the bar before bedtime at no charge. My husband also had a drink on the houses
- Sanni (7/5): Unique surroundings - The staff was very friendly and the surrounding pub looked so interesting and unique! Close to a train station. Bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was super low and the water went from cold to hot to cold to hot. Also, the check in/out instructions were unclear. No one told us how to check out, and during our last night we found out ourselves that we had to lock the front door of the pub ourselves as we took off.
- Jane (8/5): - Its uniqueness. Very quirky.
- Wojciech (6/5): - The area, quircky look and localization above the pub, smiley and friendly personel Not a single working wi-fi network, the showers with either boiling or freezing water, thin walls, could be cleaner
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Paul (8/5): We would certainly return. - Excellent location, delicious evening menu and very good value for London. Access to shared kitchen and breakfast items was unexpected but very welcome. We only stayed for one night and had no complaints.
- Markus (9/5): No better place to stay in Greenwich… I‘ll come back - It was a perfect stay! Not only the staff is super friendly and nice but also the location and the room is extraordinary beautiful. The bed and the mattress was cozy and comfortable and it is a very quiet place. The pub itself is amazing. Everything was perfect except the WiFi. And if you are a bit picky you‘ll find a few minor issues, but they were completely irrelevant to me as I‘m appreciating this location. Come and convince yourself - it’s definitely worth it!
- janet (8/5): - We enjoyed the original and quirky surroundings.
The staff were lovely
- Markus (8/5): - Lovely pub. Nice room. Great location.
- Gary (8/5): - The staff were very helpful with a very comfortable bed and the pub was quaint and interesting with all the paraphernalia in the pub.
We would stay again
- Sarah Sausage (8/5): -
- Michael (9/5): - I love this place!
It's charming. you take the ferry to get to London.
It's quiet at night. The air is fresh. Only four rooms so you get quite a personal treatment.
And it's listed top 50 best pubs in London. It's charming. In either way. Don't be too picky. No TV at the rooms. Bring your own favorite shampoo!
- Roger (8/5): It was alright for a short stay - In a good location Quite dingy
- Sophia (10/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): Prince of Greenwich was great! - Staff were lovely, the pub is brilliantly quirky and the room was great. Only a very small thing but the shower lacked a bit of power at times and took a while to warm up, but its a very old building so no surprise and I will definitely use this place again if i'm staying in the area
- Jiri (9/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): - Excellent location, but on arrival by car got picked up by a camera and got a £160 fine ( when we dropped our bags off at the pub)
- Paula (10/5): Great location - Very welcoming
- Giorgia (8/5): -
- Viktoriya (10/5): Very charming place - The hotel is located in a very nice area, close to Greenwich park. It's great for people who want to visit this area, or for going to the O2 for a concert. It's connected to the rest of the city by bus, metro and train so it's easy to reach. The hotel is charming and unique and the hosts are very welcoming and nice. I loved the room decorations and the bed was very comfortable. I had some difficulties with the entrance key, but I managed to get the hang of it after a few tries. The hosts helped me with it, so it wasn't such a big problem.
- David (6/5): -
- Albena (1/5): Do not stay in room 3 - The location Room 3 needs renovation! The bathroom was old and
dilapidated. Shower hardly any pressure, just a tiny water drizzle. Needs a total overhaul. The bed mattress was hanging on one side outside the bed frame; it was smaller than the mattress
- James (8/5): Reasonable value and a good location. - Great location close to the train station and a short walk from the market. Shared kitchen was not very well equipped.
- Bettina (7/5): We enjoyed visiting Greenwich in a unique way from this great location. - This was a unique little place in a great location for the night before our cruise departure. Check-in was a little bit confusing since the pub was closed on Mondays which is the day we arrived.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Sheila (8/5): Great location at a good price - Great location at a good price. Comfortable. Eat in a couple of nights, great Italian food. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our second time staying here.
- Esme (9/5): Superb - Location, great room, Shower
- Albena (1/5): Not worth booking accomodation there - Staff was friendly but more skilled to manage the restaurant than accommodation facilities the rooms are totally substandard. I stayed 26/27 June alone - room 1 was ok-ish and then again 29June-1 July, with my huisband in room 3 - which was awful! Bad bed, mattress hangs out on one side as bigger than the supporting Europalettes used as a bed; bathroom tiny, very poor shower quality - needs to be ripped out and totally renovated to meet any normal B&B standard. No ventilation whatsoever
- Joy (10/5): Highly Reccomend - Staff lovely
Location great
Lovely comfortable qurky place. Nothing
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Aruna1103 (9/5): Superb - Second stay here and as lovely as last year Unfortunately Muna the cute cat didn't come this time
- Barbara (5/5): Passable -
- Irene (8/5): Fabulous quirky place with really pleasant staff - Quirkiness - didn’t use kitchen but good facility Nowhere secure to leave luggage
- Pascoe (10/5): A brilliant place to stay if you’d rather have opening windows and a very different place to every other hotel. - Everything - not your usual run of the mill place to stay Nothing
- Tashya (8/5): Lovely location , spacious room and friendly staff. Have stayed a few times now and will return - Friendly welcome , spacious rooms and great location Shower pressure / hot water unpredictable - expected in old buildings but difficult when wanting to wash hair etc before work
- Flumanchew (10/5): Perfect for a pitstop - Very unusual looking pub/ accommodation with lots of quirky things in and around the pub. It's what it sells itself in though as the attraction. Friendly helpful staff and a great location. N/A
- Jake (8/5): Very good - Good value for money
- David (8/5): Lovely - Kitchen and other spaces great. Fantastic ambience Room very hot, no fan provided
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (9/5): Perfect price and spot for us . - Quirky well priced N/a
- Anonymous (8/5): Wonderful place to have a nice supper, drink with friends, and enjoy the atmosphere. - The suppers were absolutely wonderful!! The selection of wines was also excellent, and my sister was quite happy with the brand of tequila available. I cannot say enough good things about the food!!! It is also wonderfully close to downtown Greenwich, while being far enough off to be very quiet.
- Stephen (7/5): Country pub charm in the middle of the metropolis - Staff was very friendly and the Italian pub food very good. The neighborhood was relatively quiet and both the pub and lodging charming. The small shared kitchen was nice for making our breakfasts and tea. Close to Greenwich Park, which was lovely for walks. A very eclectic experience that we mostly enjoyed. It was rather warm in London and the room was hot and stuffy; we asked for a small room fan and none were provided. We opened the window for air, which helped, although there are no screens so we had a few flies and spiders join us. Water pressure in the shower very low and took a long time to warm up. Not the place to stay if you're looking for a typical hotel and breakfast was not provided but there were good options via a short walk to the Greenwich market neighborhood.
- Joseph (4/5): very disappointed the place was shut our entire stay - no breakfast the hotel was closed when we got there but we were warned about that and when we got back to the hotel around 10pm the following day again it was closed again
- David (9/5): Superb - Convenient to O2. Friendly staff. Clean. Hot water takes ages to come through for a shower. At least 5 mins. I almost gave up.
No light switch next to the bed.
- Karin (6/5): A pleasant and nostalgic stay in a good old fashioned English pub. - The staff were so helpful and helped us with our bags up the tiny pub stairs for which we were grateful. The accommodation was what I remembered pub accommodation to be many years ago. The pub meal was really good and enjoyed an hour or so enjoying Sunday afternoon music which was pleasant and not too loud!! With accommodation in general we find a serious lack of instruction, ie how to use the TV, and in our case the shower! It sounds all so simple for people using every day in respective countries but for visitors it can be frustrating! Which channels, when we find them, are in the different languages? The shower was the most frustrating!
- Sandie (9/5): Superb - Friendly, helpful staff. Great size, quirky room & huge bed. Useful shared kitchen space with generous sharing of some handy basics. Quiet area with like a village feel. Short walk to Greenwich station or High St.
- Patrick (10/5): Cozy, eccentric lodging in historic, village-like Greenwich - What a cool and funky place! My room was comfortable, with a nice view up Hyde Vale to the park. The pub/restaurant downstairs was lively, with great food and happy customers (including a number of Italian tourists). I never heard any noise from below. The staff members I interacted with were all friendly and kind. The idea of a Sicilian Victorian pub is a little different, but it works! Greenwich itself is a delight, and all of the sights are within a short walk. (It only took me 10 minutes to walk to my conference at the university, which occupies the Old Royal Naval College.) There are several grocery stores at the end of the street. Greenwich Station (for Thameslink to Farringdon to get the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow) is a 5-minute walk away. Nothing.
- Eleanor (8/5): Very good - Great location for O2 a short bus ride away from the rest of the traffic. The property is quirky and interesting, with helpful staff. Locks were a bit hit or miss, sticking in the locked position. Shower was plumbed in with hot/cold back to front which made finding the right temperature harder.
- Raza (7/5): No hot water. No toilet roll. Not a clean bed - The location is great, liked the quirky decor too There was no hot water in shower, shower also has no pressure at all. There was no toilet roll in the bathroom. The bed was broken and mattress dipped. The lady who checked me in was not very friendly either . There was hair strands in my bedding
- Richard (1/5): A poor experience. - Location is good There was no toilet roll in the bathroom. The shower did not run hot water no matter what setting I put it on or for how long.
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Macdonald (10/5): Quirky pub excellent stay - Quirky pub with lovely staff and a great location Nothing to dislike
- Gomez (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Gary (10/5): Amazing place - The food is incredible. Try the garlic cheese bread it’s the best I’ve ever had. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Interesting, old and good value. Clean and basic. - Na
- Alister (7/5): Good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Jaimee (9/5): Superb - Very quaint and traditional pub/hotel in the heart of Greenwich. Excellent location. Hosts were great to deal with.
- Allan (7/5): Nice pub with rooms close to the centre of Greenwich - The pub downstairs had a nice atmosphere and served home made food. I understand that it made its own gluten free pasta and pizza's and the pizza was reasonably priced and very nice. ( usual warnings about possible cross contamination were given). Bed was comfortable. The room whilst perfectly acceptable had very random furniture, big desk with the radiator positioned above the desk and random console table on one wall, but the bed was squeezed to the corner with no bedside table so I used a chair to hold a glass of water. Only 2 electric sockets, one with extension powering the TV and the other immediately above the bed but it was difficult to charge phone and watch ready for the next day. The shower cubicle had 2 showers, one electric and the other thermostatic ( the electric one worked) The shower door would not stay shut during showering resulting on a pool of water on the floor.
- Derick (9/5): Superb - very quirky pub and b and b with a fantastic Italian restaurant. favourite of mine in the area. nothing
- Martin (8/5): Quirky and fun. Great staff. - The room was not as clean as it could have been (check the harder to get to areas!) There was a problem with the key to the room on arrival. We stayed two days - it perhaps could have been fully addressed during our stay.
- Jan (9/5): Very nice and welcoming! - Excellent that it is a working pub, decorated with the collection of the owner
- Anuschka (10/5): This was by far the best stay I’ve ever had in London! Thank you so so much! We will def be back! :) - This was by far the best stay I’ve ever had in London – we felt totally at home from the very first moment. A super cozy room in a lovely pub with incredibly warm and welcoming hosts! The neighborhood felt super safe and is right in the heart of the city. And the food? Absolutely delicious! My salad was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and way above what you'd expect from pub food. Everything was just perfect – I’ll definitely be back, and I’m already looking forward to it! Thanks so much for this amazing experience and warm greetings from Berlin! Nothing to add here! :)
